And this is what the endgame is.

entwickelnden 41 points ago +41 / -0

2030 only 9 years away, if they apply this on houses it wont take but 1-2 years to lose a house.

NomadicKrow2 29 points ago +29 / -0

Well, I won't ever see it. I'll fight to keep my house. My investments are my risk. If I take a risk and make a gain, I don't see how the government is entitled to any of that. If my house appreciates in value, how is the government entitled to any of that value? This is ludicrous. "Unrealized gain" is fucking stupid, it's a bullshit term. It doesn't mean anything. I might sell my house for a fucking dollar, it doesn't matter if some asshole appraises it for 100k.

80960KA 21 points ago +22 / -1

I will put any banker or govt rep that shows up at my door to take my house over scam taxes in a shallow grave.

spezpedobestfriend 16 points ago +17 / -1

Oh if something like this goes live, those walls won't save them and their security will flee when they see what's coming for them. Plus lets look at this logically, their security guards would be ID'd and the vulnerable ones would be ID'd, threats would be made or money paid. From there its all over for them. Go into a warzone, no sane politician was anywhere outside of a greenzone ever. Our politicians haven't learned that one yet. If they fuck the US citizen over as hard as they are trying, full on color revolution and a lot of elected officials won't survive the mob eating them alive.

Food is up $175/person now. Once food costs 40% of a persons wage, food riots break out. With the cut down on police and military it will be game over for a number of Democratic cities and their suburbs. I'm in an exaburb, but frankly I'm looking to a more wooded and remote area to bypass this shit. I'll just watch the death and murder of Democrats to Democrats remotely.

gaijin_ronin 8 points ago +8 / -0

I concur. Unfortunately for me I am stuck in a city and one with a large military presence. This place will go to hell in a hand basket quickly. I am working on an exit but if SHTF sooner my only recourse will be to get my ratio as high as possible and do my part.

My concern is that the left wants the revolution to kickoff because it's easier to then purge us. Not with our country's own troops but via EU/UN and other neighbour states. i.e the North.

Either way, it's going to get a hell of a lot worse before it gets better. Look after your loved ones.

The sad thing is Covid has emboldened the authoritarians on the left and they think think they can get away with anything, no matter how reprehensible or damaging to future generations. They say think of the kids but they are robbing them blind. Just this year they are spending 6500 billion and only taking in about 4000 billion in revenue.

OhLollyLollyPop 9 points ago +10 / -1

NomadicKrow2 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'll move my crypto investments to an overseas exchange if I have to. This is a great way to have wealth flee the country. They're right on track. Directional 4 points ago +4 / -0

Overseas accounts are useless with FATCA laws, unless you want to store your money somewhere like Angola.

But you don’t have to move crypto anywhere. Just ensure it is in a hardware or offline wallet.

Historically though stocks have not been a hedge for inflation. Too much inflation is bad for the economy and that puts downward pressure on stock prices.

NomadicKrow2 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yep. People think "the dollar" is a fixed value. It is not. One of the ways I like to look at it is "how much is gold worth?" That gives me a pretty good idea. Physical gold, not paper gold.

MarcusAurelius 5 points ago +5 / -0

That and the Fed buys stock and mortgage backed securities.

From March 11 2020 to October 2021, the Fed has bought 4.2 trillion dollars of Securities through Qualitative Easing.

RexCollumSilvarum 3 points ago +3 / -0

Qualitative and quantitative "easing".

Which is Fed-speak for "debasing".

NomadicKrow2 1 point ago +1 / -0

Explain to me, Marcus.

MarcusAurelius 1 point ago +1 / -0

The Fed can print an unlimited number of dollars. The only requisite is that they "must" buy something, such as a debt with them. This is typically how dollars are "made". The fed acquires a loan from the bank, and the fed gives dollars to banks. The other way of course is to acquire treasury bonds from the government. As long as the Fed agrees, the government can borrow an unlimited amount of money. Crank those printing presses up.

One of the changes is that the Fed can also buy corporate bonds and stocks, through a program called qualitative easing. The Fed owns ~$8 trillion dollars of these securities. Pretty nice way to guarantee good market growth if the people who have an unlimited amount of money buy stock to drive the price up.

FelixtheMan 48 points ago +48 / -0

There is no such thing as currency shortage. Ever.

deleted 0 points ago +1 / -1
Directional 1 point ago +1 / -0

That’s like saying tax cuts cost money.

You’re criticizing people for not knowing history (including me, I think), but you’re confusing your own facts. We didn’t get off the gold standard in the depression, that’s when the confiscations began, under FDR. The currency was still backed by gold until 1971, when Nixon formally ended it. Since then the dollar has plummeted about 97% in value.

We won’t ever have a currency shortage because government isn’t disciplined enough to tolerate one, when in reality devaluation is helpful, like a respite from the universally accepted and constant assault on savings produced by our labor.

The government has created more money in the last 12 months than like the previous 245 years combined. That cannot sustain. There is an end to it, and it’s ugly.

You want to talk history, there’s more than enough examples of overinflation—from Rome to Zimbabwe, to Venezuela, to Weimar—to more than speak against your scant evidence of deflation ever existing in any significant form that brought down nations like overinflation has.

We have universal standards for time, weight, distance. If the price of meat stayed the same but the grocer could change the meaning of a “pound” of beef every time you went to the store, then there would be lynch mobs stringing him up in the parking lot. But we constantly change the value of currency and no one bats an eye. It’s just normal and accepted. What’s the big deal? Of course money inflates, your savings account and hard-earned living will just have to deal with it.

Fuck. No.

RexCollumSilvarum 1 point ago +1 / -0

Absolutely untrue. When we do see deflation -- and we almost never do -- it's on the order of 0.1% or 0.5%. We never see producers unable to sell at any price because there are no buyers with any money, which is the kind of deflation that would be the sign of a bad economy and which happened during the Great Depression.

Japan had that kind of low deflation in the 2000s. It helped an entire generation of young people save for their first homes and maintain their quality of life after the bubble popped. With even the 0-2% inflation that the central banks want to foist on us, they would have been on the hamster wheel watching prices go up all the time and wouldn't have been able to get ahead.

Langtath 34 points ago +34 / -0

Start a church, name yourself head pastor, sell your house to the church for 1 dollar, use the house for "religious practice," pay no property tax.

If you want your child to inherit the house, make him head pastor when you die. No inheritance tax.

My family has run a Christian camp, which housed several people on a semi-permanent basis, for decades and pay no taxes. The only time the city tried to collect (unsuccessfully) was during a period of a few years when nobody made the camp a permanent address, and only 4 rallies were held. The church leaders just increased the property use, had more services and that was that.

I think they pay a small fee every year for fire and police, but it's nothing compared to paying tax for the more than 100 acres.

tactical_potato 9 points ago +9 / -0

Bruh. I'm going to need to request since more details. Down to do this right now.

scottcaver1 1 point ago +1 / -0

JackSharpScribe 4 points ago +4 / -0

This is a really interesting idea actually. In the days of the early church, converts would sell their property and give the money to the apostles to use for the best purposes of expanding the brethren. I wonder if tight-knit church groups may have to use this strategy you're talking about over the coming years, where you have tons and tons of people who essentially give their houses over to the church for church use but in reality they still live in their house.

Though that's assuming the tax-exempt status of the church remains intact over time.

Lord_Kek 3 points ago +4 / -1

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them (around the banks), will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." - Thomas Jefferson, tho' the provenance is dispoooted. BlackPillBot 2 points ago +3 / -1

Yeah, I’ve been telling people for a while now, and that what we will see in the even nearer future than I was predicting before the Bolsheviks stole the election, is a bunch of mini Wacos, and Ruby Ridges that will result in the deaths of the first few victims along with some tyrants, but will have the effect of waking many normies up more than anything else we’ve seen yet IMHO.

The main advantage we have now compared to Waco, and ruby ridge is that cameras are everywhere, and anyone with an IQ above 65 can livestream. Having families shot at/killed live on camera who have no criminal records, as they state their case, and background as a moral law abiding citizen who just wants to be left alone, and keep their home changes everything IMHO. My biggest worry is that they will start fucking with data transfer signals, and hiding body camera footage in cases where they just want to disarm Americans, and steal their property. Where things could get really interesting is when LEO frens on the inside start warning the intended homeowner victims ahead of time so they can prepare, and when neighbors adjacent to the victims start taking out tyrants IN MINECRAFT as they stack up around the entrances to the house. Shit gets sideways really quick when you’re taking fire from different unexpected angles/places. The best case scenario, which, unfortunately, I have absolutely no illusion of actually happening, would be other LEOs showing up, and drawing down on the tyrannical LEO who actually started stacking up at the scene of the house they intend on arm robbing the victims of.

There are many arguments against Yellen's unrealized gains but houses at this point isn't one of them. They said capital gains from liquid and semi-liquid assets, a house is neither.

But an IRA or a 401k could be considered along with normal brokerage accounts, which means taxing 80-90% of the whole workforce on unrealized gains every year. Not to mention accounts that are setup to save for tuition, FSA and HSA.

Their shit affects everyone and taxes every one. Least of all billionairs. That is why they want to spend 80 Billion on new IRS agents and snoop into any bank account that has more than $500 in transactions. Biden's "Build Back Better" is a Tax Everyone to Death plan.
