Don't worry! Endless Unemployment and loads of high paying jobs desperate for workers will help her get by... I don't think the Biden regime thought they would need to do any coordination.
This is what kills me. Dropping fries at McD's, filling orders at Walmart/Amazon, drying cars at the local car wash, washing dishes, WASNT meant to be a career!
If you're not getting paid enough, look in the mirror and upgrade yourself!
Yet still, illegals will work harder for much less and I don't think I ever see them cry about their earnings. Not defending them... But if they weren't being shipped in to vote dem, I would gladly replace every single libtard with them.
I respect their hustle, but coming from a family of immigrants, unless they put back in as much as I do tax wise etc... They can stay home. My family is Romanian and like 90% of Romanians vote Red. That said, if they're gonna take advantage and be leeches, they can fuck off along with Mexicans. Especially if they vote Globalists
This is just from experience, but when guest workers hustle, they do their work half-ass. Sometimes the lead starts to expect everyone to work at their pace, and gets frustrated with the workers actually doing a thorough job.
Furthermore, some of these nationalities are statistically very poor assimilators. Get enough Mexican, Micronesian, and especially non-Western nationals on a crew/shift, then you'll suddenly have a huge problem with internal communication, because they'll start passing work information via their original languages instead of english. My old company went to absolute shit because of this. Once a few foreign nationals from Micronesia got into lead positions, it was over, and no one wanted to fire the ones that were garbage workers because they'd all team up and call HR or whatever racist.
People sure learn how to operate and game the system quick don’t they?
It seems toxic to admit that immigrants should assimilate, learn the language and customs of a new country. This is the largest problem when the flow of immigrants from the same places...there is no need to assimilate. No need to learn the language or customs. You are insulated in a bubble of your old home. I think it takes a generation or two to assimilate in general.
The left says America is a horrible, cruel, racist country, but boy, we sure don’t act like it.
It’s interesting that other regions of the world have their own “Mexico”. It sounds like you are either in AUS, NZ or HK? Singapore?
Nope. I'm 100% American. The Pacific Northwest has a large Pacific Islander population; a lot of Micronesians and Macronesians. They're usually very nice people, and the American-born ones are usually completely assimilated (while keeping family languages and some traditions), but the actual immigrants - legal and illegal - don't assimilate that well.
Not only that, but they appear to work harder, but they really half-ass their work to appear better at their jobs.
(Edit: I mean they'll work rapidly at the expense of thoroughness and rewl efficiency. Plus, just wait until the supervisor isn't around.)
Also, two middle fingers up to employers who say that shit. They're greedy motherfucks rewarding criminal behaviors over supporting their own countrymen. The "work harder and complain less" excuse is pathetic.
We all love capitalism, but people need to stop making excuses for obvious greed. Hire an illegal or foreign national over an American with the same skills? Then you should be heavily penalized in some meaningful, or thrown in fucking jail IMO.
This is what we did for Italians, Irish, Germans. Learn English (no tax-payer funded translators). We pick the best for our team, and they have to learn the plays. No blingers.
There are also a lot of shitty Mexicans who work 4 manager jobs at Popeyes, McDonald's, Burger King, and Taco Bell so they can neglect their children. All the mean while stealing from taxpayers by applying for benefits they're not eligible for, and then failing to report their income.
Valid point. We should not accept illegal aliens no matter the reason. On a personal level, some are good and some are bad, but they should be here LEGALLY.
once upon a time the illegals coming across the border in Texas would get accept offers from ranchers to do basic work like build fences etc. Now they decline the work and just want to make it to the cities so they can reap the rewards of welfare and social services without having to do anything. I would still rather Americans be the ones doing the work, but I have much less objection to someone coming here who is willing and able to work hard and not asking for handouts.
My dad ran from communist Romania in 1987. Unable to speak a lick of English, he did not take handouts. He worked his ass off and earned the respect of people he couldn't even make conversation with, quickly becoming a most valued employee, and always spoke to us about how great America is compared to Romania growing up. He came from a communist country so he knew not to trust the media.
Went from zero English speaking ability and absolutely broke to "owning" (property taxes are an absolute theft) a paid off 5000sq ft home on 2 acres in King county by 50 WHILE RAISING 11 CHILDREN.
And these lazy mother fuckers keep telling me I don't know about oppression, black people have it so bad blah blah blah. Piece of shit, my dad was nearly tortured to death JUST FOR TRYING TO ESCAPE THE COUNTRY.
Well, there are 4 more just like him, his brothers. And 5 more sisters just like him supporting their husbands, and somewhere around 150 first cousins very much like them as well, so I think my family alone has that more than covered 😂😂😂
When Trump closed the flow of illegals, the Mexicans at the McD’s down the street were soon replaced by inner-city black kids wanting a job. Whatta shocker, right.
Exactly. Those jobs aren't for illegal Mexicans. I'd rather a hoodlum work at McDonald's so they can earn a sense of responsibility, over a fucking illegal.
My husband's ex started as a salesgirl at Hill's, switched to Walmart, and eventually ended up as a Walmart District Manager. You CAN stay at the bottom of the ladder, some professions don't even have ladders, but the magic of America is there are always choices if you are willing to make the effort.
It's the "make the effort" part that generally turns people away. Most of the people bitching about wages want to sit on their ass and make 20/hr doing the least amount of work as possible.
Years ago I worked with a guy from Mexico (he had a forged green card like many). anyway, guy worked his butt off and sent much of his money home to his wife and the kids that were still there, building his house. Every now and then a big storm would mess up his house, but he kept plugging away at this dream. Meanwhile his home country are literally falling apart. So when I knew this guy he had been here nearly 20 years, still barely spoke English, and was basically in a 20 year old rut of what he imagined he would do after coming here to work. I honestly think he just had no other concept and wasn't capable of anything beyond that.
Many careers are high stress and retirement is a relief. Greeter jobs are easy- not meant for young folks looking to get into a career of greeting. The position was literally created to give some older folks a meaningful and useful job.
But then, people who've paid into Social Security their whole lives actually ARE entitled to it.
I cringe whenever I hear politicians whine about entitlements. They're bitching about taxpayers expecting their money to come back to them instead of going where it belongs-- to desert wars and to their criminal friends on Wall Street.
But the solvency of the program isn't relevant here. Billions of dollars of taxpayer money has been stolen over the years, and the crooks who took it want you to believe that when you go to collect, that you're the problem.
Lots of other people my age wanted a house the moment we stepped out of college. It's all instant gratification, they don't want to work for, and bitch that older generations have homes. Meanwhile I still remember when I was little seeing all said older generations having to pay off their homes up to retirement, sometimes even into their retirement. They didn't just fall into their laps.
Someone told me I was an idiot and still a slave because I said, "I worked in a warehouse that treated me worse and paid me less than Amazon pays you. Instead of sitting around and crying about it, I applied for an apprenticeship where I would not only make $6+ more an hour JUST TO START, but still make more money WHILE GOING TO SCHOOL and not end up in debt."
Did the same thing 14 years ago. Only had one friend join up after telling countless other friends about it and even showing them pay stubs for normal weeks. It was always crying about the dirt and sweat and work. Unbelievable.
This bozo said he shouldn't have to put in that much more effort to "make a living wage".
I told him straight up he doesn't make a living wage because by his own admission he's a lazy fuck. The stupid morons vote for higher taxes and then cry that they don't make enough money lmao.
A huge part of the problem comes from HR. They hire the worst people to the top positions and keep the best from advancing. Retail COULD BE a career if you start pushing carts, become a cashier, become a supervisor, become an assistant manager, and become a manager. It's just not happening the right way now. Now the Mexican girl that barely graduated high school gets a supervisor job as her first job and she's a manager in two years while the American is stuck stocking shelves for a decade.
That's not a realistic goal. Those jobs are designed to be as soul crushing as possible to destroy you before you make it to that level, which is why there's so much churn. And naturally that's why the managers suck because they're not human beings. Companies don't value loyal employees either, so it's silly to be loyal to them.
Those retail jobs are a lot more about knowing people to get in vs anything else.
They receive so many applicants, they're not going to shift through the thousands of resumes to find the 'perfect' one. Whoever gets to show up first and seems qualified enough will get it.
Even if you manage it, there's a massive hurdle of getting from assistant manager to a general manager where you really make the big bucks for yourself.
but when Trump was fixing International Tarriffs and bringing jobs back to America,
it's not entirely a "lazy, no want work!" problem like the propaganda says.
And don't forget - shipping a product across the ocean isn't free! It costs money and time - and who pays for it AGAIN? The AMERICAN TAXPAYERS.
And all for what? For cheaper Slave Labour that breaks in 5 seconds when an American Quality product would last YEARS?
It's all a SHAM~
How many factories, jobs left this nation since the Phony Election Coup? And you wanna blame the American People and not.......the frauds~
Oh, and don't forget that open fuckin' border pouring in illegals 24/7 since the Phony Election. Jobs sent away, and illegal competition driving you down.
It's fucked. And not...the American People's fault~
In my opinion*
Edit: Bonus round for the White American Job Seekers! How's looking for a job when Diversity Hires screw you out? "Can't hire you - you're white!" It's alllllllll fucked~
This. $15/hr in today’s world is worth less than $7.25/hr 50 years ago. Whether the next number is $18/hr or $25/hr, nothing positive will ever come of it. This isn’t a case of entitlement gone sour as Boomers on our side would like to think. They need to acknowledge that the cost of living has skyrocketed in every respect because of countless regulations, and wild government spending thanks to The Fed and the politicians they failed to hold responsible. The economic conditions of the last few decades are what primed the minds of younger generations to so readily except radical ideologies like communism.
Living prices are ridiculous... So ridiculous I could see how other young people my age could be demoralised for sure.
In order for me to be successful I have had to be homeless in a semi. I couldn't imagine paying $1200 a month rent for 1br 1ba apartment. On top of student loans, insurance (ect.).
I noticed this trend in the cities especially blue cities. I was able to get an Apartment with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom in Utah for 800 dollars a month, but I don't think it'll last that long as real estate are trying to open up "luxurious" apartments and prices are slowly going up. Do have to blame the Californians that flee to the Salt Lake County, and vote blue with policies that killed their shithole state in the first place.
Hard to split your rent with your significant other when they don't even live near you. Having random roommates is risky because I don't want to room with a stupid leftist or alcoholic.
And arguments like "you're just entitled" aren't going to win people to our side. We need to focus on the fact that the only reason it's gotten this bad is because government has their thumb on the scale, and raising the minimum wage is just a bandaid on a six inch laceration.
Lol nah, she makes around $30/hr. Most RNs don't make $50/hr+ unless they have been working awhile and moved into management away from the bedside or in California or, like me, travel nurse.
Left Alabama making $24/hr after a few years getting $0.50/hr raises every year except for 2020.
I’ve a family member who started out less than spectacular in performance and circumstance, but has managed to become a fantastic critical care RN at a highly regarded hospital in what seems like no time.
Lots of hard work, schooling, ambition, and the often overlooked INNATE ABILITY. This person wanted to be “an ambulance” at four years old. There’s a lot of value to be found in strong willed people.
I have a friend who worked as a travel nurse, neo-natal I think. She spent a lot of time in Alaska. AFIAK she loved it. From what I gathered it paid well and was flexible and a little bit adventurous.
I’ve heard from a trusted source that an RN relative was offered a travel position in one location at ~7k (either biweekly or monthly, I can’t remember). Whatever, it was an astounding amount of money.
Half the trouble right here: old rural Boomers who still think a movie and a popcorn is three bucks, and that you can buy a house (read: their house) on a milkman's salary
NE Shithole city: $16 an hour = $480/week at 30 hours (they'll never let you work a full time schedule!) and then you're paying $1000 to rent a room in someone else's apartment. Half your wages gone.
Red state small town: $8 an hour = $240/week at 30 hours. Paying $300 a month to rent a room. Coming out way ahead.
If your goal in life is to work a simple job and rent a room somewhere, ok. But what it should do is light a fire under you so you work your way up, then leave that starter job for the next young/inexperienced person to start and grow from there.
This is a meme and you don't understand how bad inflation is and how low wages are. Getting rid of minimum wage van only work if we, at a minimum, deport the illegal immigrants driving down wages.
That's a very hard redpill to swallow for a lot of people, even here. Women in the workforce cheapens the labor of men and results in children growing up spending a lot less time with their parents. Sad!
I was low man on an inground pool crew at 16ish. Digging holes and wheelbarrowing concrete around all day for $2.35/hr. It was tits. Had a nice tan, car, gf, and a bit left over for beer and weed. Everything a 17yo needs.
This is the way. Hopefully she teaches this lesson to her kids, nieces/nephews and makes sure they pass on that knowledge the same way.
We need to control the narrative not the media or government
I started off as a cook/dining room host at a retirement home. Then became an assistant foodservice manager at another retirement home. I then became an assistant manager at a hotel, then the GM at the same hotel. Now I'm a Foodservice Director at a private Christian school.
Then in 12 months the Hospital begs Faye to return to work and Faye hold out for $100.00 per hour since most of the RNs have died or fallen severely ill from the clot shot. Winning.
crtical boomer level here. $20/hr is solidly below middle class existence in big chunks of the country. everything is fucked but because they got theirs and already retired to florida and arizona boomers just stick their heads in the sand and scream FIRM HANDSHAKE over and over.
First job was at a garden center for $7 (HS) then cashier (college) then corporate gigs post college (nothing to do with my degree of course) where the money started rolling in.
Everywhere here is starting people at 15 bucks per hour. Gas stations. Fast food everywhere. They better be ready to bust their asses though. North Florida
Damn! How did all us racists let one get by? Efforts must be doubled, my fellow racists. See you at the next white meeting where we will be discussing Faye in great detail.
Well, you can start out making that much, if you're willing to do the dirty and hard jobs others aren't. There's a steel mill near where I live. They'll hire anyone so long as they're 18. Not even sure if they care if you graduated from highschool or not. They're always hiring and start at around $23/hr. Most people aren't willing to do that kind of work though. Those that are, profit.
It's only possible if businesses aren't being destroyed.
I worked my ass off under Obama to the point that nobody would hire me because I was over qualified. Really fucking hard to afford a 3 day road trip for one interview when that's the case. It took Trump getting in office for businesses to be willing to spend to hire. I flew around the country interviewing, for free, from December 16 to beginning of February.
We gotta judge the country as it is, not as it should be
We're in a communist revolution, currently in a weird crony capitalism. Raises at based on arbitrary metrics, instead of doing your job. A "good" raise is one that meets Inflation, you'll never get one that increases your spending power.
We need a million more people like Faye in the world, we need to get rid of all the communists and those enabling the oligarchy we have now (they're not the communists)
No. Inflation is insane. I was making 17 an hour in 2015 and could barely afford to live. Maybe this is true in butt fuck Egypt but in any metropolitan area you won’t survive on less than 15. I’m not saying there should be a minimum wage but most businesses have been paying well over 15 an hour entry level for quite some time.
$15 an hour today is $7.25 an hour fifteen years ago. Some people just don't get inflation. The really sad thing is if they did, they'd be more pissed of than anyone, because they'd realize they haven't had a real raise in thirty years.
Shit for me I worked up into marketing before burning out and going to working a night shift in a frozen warehouse…..worked that into logistics and now the CEO calls me up asking for my thoughts. Working up is what made this country great. I take my hat off to anyone who works up.
Faye is the kind of person who makes this country great.
Gonna go ahead and upvote ya on this one.
And then she was shitcanned for refusing the jab.
But luckily our Welfare System covers everyone that is unemployed.... except those who reject the Fakeccine... whoops.
Have we seen if this ends up being the case for sure?
Don't worry! Endless Unemployment and loads of high paying jobs desperate for workers will help her get by... I don't think the Biden regime thought they would need to do any coordination.
Three cheers for Faye!
Hip hip
two hours later
Hooray!
meritocracy wins!
Looks like what they label as privilege today.
This is what kills me. Dropping fries at McD's, filling orders at Walmart/Amazon, drying cars at the local car wash, washing dishes, WASNT meant to be a career!
If you're not getting paid enough, look in the mirror and upgrade yourself!
Spot on. It's a job for students or for bored retired people.
But not illegal Mexicans, and Central/Southern Americans.
Yet still, illegals will work harder for much less and I don't think I ever see them cry about their earnings. Not defending them... But if they weren't being shipped in to vote dem, I would gladly replace every single libtard with them.
Yes they hustle. Some do not. In California, they get Medicaid and services.
Some may pay taxes on some earnings...
But they will likely get a refund if they do.
My health insurance last year was $4000 a month. A MONTH.
Couldn’t afford it for the whole family.
That’s fucking insane.
Agreed. I am all for hard workers. I hate leeches.
I also hate lazy babies, and I’ve met a lot of native born teenagers who are not hungry enough and just phone it in at their job.
I think Too much easy credit for high school and college students have made it hard to find hard workers.
They think they deserve $25 or $30 an hour for zero skills.
Eastern Europeans who have made it to the US get it...they’ve seen the ending of the movie and it ain’t pretty.
That’s why they don’t teach history here anymore, can’t have the sheep getting the game.
wtf, did it cover plastic surgery?
yeah, for the illegals
Based in California and 2 adults, 3 kids. Technically it was a mere $3873.
We had to spin off the kids and pay for their own plan separately. Two adults is still $2200/ month
Obamacare really destroyed the insurance market. Paul Ryan and the Rep. didnt fix it when they could’ve. No will or wanted it too.
Republicans are just socialists driving the speed limit. (Stolen from some meme here)
It helps get them to the goal of single payer. It’s time to burn that system down too.
The federal government, with Medicare and Medicaid, is just too big of a payed and too powerful. They set the rules for all.
This is just from experience, but when guest workers hustle, they do their work half-ass. Sometimes the lead starts to expect everyone to work at their pace, and gets frustrated with the workers actually doing a thorough job.

Because they're practically slaves and if they complain they can be deported.
Lol whose gonna deport them
Trump.
Well first we kinda have to not let them steal elections.
Senator John McLaughlin!!!
Not only that, but they appear to work harder, but they really half-ass their work to appear better at their jobs.

So make the front door easier for the "Americans-to-be" to use then climbing in the window.
How about slam the fucking window on their grubby fucking fingers?
This is what we did for Italians, Irish, Germans. Learn English (no tax-payer funded translators). We pick the best for our team, and they have to learn the plays. No blingers.
What the fuck is this shit? How about no?
I have an immigrant wife and it'd be nice to have her sister and parents here?
What are you going to say flat out no it must only be merit based and individually?
Right now they have to interview to even come visit and it isn't easy even though we have every intention of following the law.
They don't work hard. They work stupid.
There are also a lot of shitty Mexicans who work 4 manager jobs at Popeyes, McDonald's, Burger King, and Taco Bell so they can neglect their children. All the mean while stealing from taxpayers by applying for benefits they're not eligible for, and then failing to report their income.
We're referring to two different groups.
Valid point. We should not accept illegal aliens no matter the reason. On a personal level, some are good and some are bad, but they should be here LEGALLY.
In Washington this isn't the case. They do all the big commercial buildings in Bellevue and Seattle and work rapidly, for white general contractors.
Not everywhere is the same.
You'e more than likely describing legal immgrants, that plan on becoming U.S. citizens.
Illegals make careers out of being taken advantage of by big businesses, and have no plans to become U.S. citizens.
Maybe, but the laziest Mexican I ever knew was a legal citizen born in America
His parents were legal too I'm pretty sure. And he has severe tds
once upon a time the illegals coming across the border in Texas would get accept offers from ranchers to do basic work like build fences etc. Now they decline the work and just want to make it to the cities so they can reap the rewards of welfare and social services without having to do anything. Boomer? Fuck off, twink.
If someone retired from a career and the best they can do is fill orders at Walmart/Amazon it wasn't much of a career.
If they stay working at Walmart, that’s fine but they should work their way up the ladder.
Certainly there are stories of baggers and cashiers becoming high paid executives.
Remaining at low levels, yes, is clearly subpar.
My husband's ex started as a salesgirl at Hill's, switched to Walmart, and eventually ended up as a Walmart District Manager. You CAN stay at the bottom of the ladder, some professions don't even have ladders, but the magic of America is there are always choices if you are willing to make the effort.

IQ is a real limiting factor. There's a lot of people that choose to do less complex work but there's even more that have no choice.
Those are urban legends. But the idea of social mobility is there.
Why in the fuck would a guy want to work construction or other hard labor for 30+ years, retire, then go back to THAT?
Years ago I worked with a guy from Mexico (he had a forged green card like many). anyway, guy worked his butt off and sent much of his money home to his wife and the kids that were still there, building his house. And your second favourite quote is "I love fapping to Grindr with my fellow faggots".
Awww poor frustrated faggot is whinny, Grindr must be down again.
Probably because thats all you letter soup neck beard faggots relate to, and me being social, l make the effort. YW pedo.
Politicians: "EVERYONE DESERVES....." is what killed this country. No God. Just entitlement.
But then, people who've paid into Social Security their whole lives actually ARE entitled to it.

Most people use far more than they ever put in. That is why its going bankruptcy.
Ida May Fuller was a parasite. The whole system should be sunsetted.
I agree that its a system that isn't working.
But the solvency of the program isn't relevant here. Billions of dollars of taxpayer money has been stolen over the years, and the crooks who took it want you to believe that when you go to collect, that you're the problem.
Trillions* billions are stolen every year.
Most people use far more than they put in, including interest? That is extremely hard to believe.
I agree 110%.
Lots of other people my age wanted a house the moment we stepped out of college. It's all instant gratification, they don't want to work for, and bitch that older generations have homes. Actually, they are fucking them... They're just so stupid and brainwashed they not only can't see it, but ask for more.

Yea, I'd love to believe you....
but when Trump was fixing International Tarriffs and bringing jobs back to America,
it's not entirely a "lazy, no want work!" problem like the propaganda says.
Lern 2 code. Amirite?
Well... $15 is the new $7.25 with inflation.
You gotta split your apartment rent with a gf so she pays half the bills.
I guess that's too much to ask for the leftwing neckbeards who live in their mom's basement though.
Hard to split your rent with your significant other when they don't even live near you. Having random roommates is risky because I don't want to room with a stupid leftist or alcoholic.
Lol a lot of people do this not sure why it's being downvoted
50 years? Try 30.
Inflation has devalued our money threefold since 1980. And wages have been stagnant that entire time.
And arguments like "you're just entitled" aren't going to win people to our side. We need to focus on the fact that the only reason it's gotten this bad is because government has their thumb on the scale, and raising the minimum wage is just a bandaid on a six inch laceration.
The answer to it isn't the government saying people have to be paid a certain amount, though.
And they suck themselves off like they’ve made some major contribution to society with paying $15 an hour.
Faye makes $50+ hr now! Good for you!
She makes somebody $50 an hour
lol
Higher ups at the hospital always get their money first.
HSHS Master Race
Lol nah, she makes around $30/hr. Most RNs don't make $50/hr+ unless they have been working awhile and moved into management away from the bedside or in California or, like me, travel nurse.
Left Alabama making $24/hr after a few years getting $0.50/hr raises every year except for 2020.
My wife works 3 days a week, is an RN, travel nurse, makes $100 an hour. Pretty sweet gig. No vaccine mandate either.
Are there a lot of nurses traveling now? I was thinking about promoting my rental property for a traveling nurse but not sure about the demand.
I have a friend who worked as a travel nurse, neo-natal I think. She spent a lot of time in Alaska. AFIAK she loved it. From what I gathered it paid well and was flexible and a little bit adventurous.
$50/hr to be a nurse? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
Travel nursing probably makes at least that much right now
I’ve heard from a trusted source that an RN relative was offered a travel position in one location at ~7k (either biweekly or monthly, I can’t remember). Whatever, it was an astounding amount of money.
California
Average RN Salary: $113,240
Average Hourly: $54.44
Number of RNs in California: 302,770
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
I hope Faye says no to the depop clot shot
What better way to analogize the concept of having goals, and working hard to achieve them. Be like Faye.
You don't start out at $15? The sign outside my local burger king says starting $16 hour.
It's expensive to live in the northeast and now even worse with Bidenflation.
Half the trouble right here: old rural Boomers who still think a movie and a popcorn is three bucks, and that you can buy a house (read: their house) on a milkman's salary
Bidenflation is real!
End the minimum wage.
This is a meme and you don't understand how bad inflation is and how low wages are. Getting rid of minimum wage van only work if we, at a minimum, deport the illegal immigrants driving down wages.
And break up the monopolies keeping us from jumping ship for a better wage.
Illegals + Women deciding to enter the work force rather than be mothers
That's a very hard redpill to swallow for a lot of people, even here. Women in the workforce cheapens the labor of men and results in children growing up spending a lot less time with their parents. Sad!
My local Sam's club starts at $18/hr. Trust me, the utter retards that work there are not worth that much.
I once worked at Walmart for $2.35/hr. And I was happy to get the job.
I was low man on an inground pool crew at 16ish. Digging holes and wheelbarrowing concrete around all day for $2.35/hr. It was tits. Had a nice tan, car, gf, and a bit left over for beer and weed. Everything a 17yo needs.
If that was in the 60s, you were making the equivalent of 18/hr today.
That would’ve been like 79-80. It went up to $3.25 or something junior and Senior year summers. BIG BUCKS!
Okay. That's still around $12-13 an hour in today's money. It'll be equivalent with $15 by the end of the year.
In 1960, $2 an hour was about $18 an hour in todays money.
I understand inflation, but i wasn't even born in 1960.
Should be fine if you’re willing to live in your car or with multiple roommates like a cretin.
Worked some fast food as well.
God bless
You forgot the part where faye either dies from the clotshot or gets fired and goes back to kfc after all those years of geinding
Then in 12 months the Hospital begs Faye to return to work and Faye hold out for $100.00 per hour since most of the RNs have died or fallen severely ill from the clot shot. Winning.
They won't do that. If all the nurses dropped out, they would wait it out and develop a paid express program to get invaders to work after two weeks.
This is what dignity in all work looks like
Faye works for a living and provides essential skilled services.
End The Fed
crtical boomer level here. $20/hr is solidly below middle class existence in big chunks of the country. everything is fucked but because they got theirs and already retired to florida and arizona boomers just stick their heads in the sand and scream FIRM HANDSHAKE over and over.
I tried to pull up my bootstraps but they broke from the stress and I punched myself in the face.
First job was at a garden center for $7 (HS) then cashier (college) then corporate gigs post college (nothing to do with my degree of course) where the money started rolling in.
What year?
Probably in the 70s before the US turned to shit.
7 dollars in 1990 would be the equivalent of 15 dollars today.
7 dollars in 1979 would be 26.
Why work hard when the state pays you to get the jab and not to commit a crime and not work?
Yeah but $15.00 now buys you nothing anyway.
Wow, now that's a true American. Taking initiative and self responsibility
It's a different world now. Inflation is off the charts and I doubt wages will go back down to drive prices back down. Everything is so fucked.
I'm one of those blue collar guys that had his name on his shirt. Now it's my last name on my shirt, and the trucks, and the front door.
Everywhere here is starting people at 15 bucks per hour. Gas stations. Fast food everywhere. They better be ready to bust their asses though. North Florida
But yes, if you want to make more per hour, make your time that you offer more money,. Jim Rohn(rip) lays this out wonderfully. I love that guy.
Damn! How did all us racists let one get by? Efforts must be doubled, my fellow racists. See you at the next white meeting where we will be discussing Faye in great detail.
Can confirm, legal immigrant here, started from the bottom, went to school, have a career now and own a house. Murica Fuck Yeah!
Also,
FUCK JOE BIDEN
Get the fuck out of my country.
I'm a US Citizen so our country it is.
I agree but rent also shouldn't be 1450 a month where the average salary is 30k a year.
These days I wouldn't work a job like that unless it paid $30 an hour. $15 an hour was ok in 2006 but it's been over a decade since then.
And then they probably fired her for not taking the jab 😩
It's racist white males like Faye that Make America Great Again.
I love Faye.
We do realize that inflation is a real thing, right? 15 at this rate is compensation for the inflation
Now that is an American success story!
Then fired fire not taking a gene therapy.
Great work, Faye!
Be more like Faye.
Faye still votes blue I bet ya
WTF?!? You gave up KFC manager to he an RN??
Johnson and johnson, you say
I'm curious how people in cities with ridiculously high house & rent prices make it though. That seems impossible. I always avoided those.
Fine job, Faye!
Faye is a Real American
Shit for me I worked up into marketing before burning out and going to working a night shift in a frozen warehouse…..worked that into logistics and now the CEO calls me up asking for my thoughts. Working up is what made this country great. I take my hat off to anyone who works up.
Faye doing that work!! Need more people like her 🇺🇸
As an intern, I made double minimum wage.
Lol at that happening now
Props to Faye!
