He is also listed as a registered Democrat.

PS: Does this really collapse the narrative? The Democrats have always been the party of racism.

GlacialSpeed 242 points ago +242 / -0

To be fair most Democrat's ideals in '83 would now be considered pretty far-right.

127
War_Hamster 127 points ago +128 / -1

And what Dems now call "right wing" could probably be more accurately described as "classical liberal".

70
tom_machine 70 points ago +70 / -0

I’m pretty sure by “classical liberal” you mean “Racist White Supremacist Nazi”.

JFK would today be considered a "far" right-wing Nazi skinhead KKK supremacist racist white nationalist militia member.

Same with Reagan (who switched from Democrats to Republicans).

6
Libertardian 6 points ago +6 / -0

Trump also switched from Demoncrat to Republican.

DrBJTester 23 points ago +23 / -0

What my generation referred to as a moderate Democrat which is basically semi-liberal on social issues. Believes in the Constitution and thinks the government shouldn't spend any more money than it takes in taxes. Has now become a radical right-wing reactionary.

But the country really hasn't changed that much a overwhelming majority of Americans don't think crazy batshit trannies should be running the country.

11
War_Hamster 11 points ago +11 / -0

The biggest change in the country is that the bell curve now has fatter tails, especially on one end. Extremists can find each other more easily with technology and the results are obvious.

Another change, a good one, is that more people now understand how the system really works. Information can be a good thing.

8
DrBJTester 8 points ago +8 / -0

That fair. The Trump effect should be included, a lot of fossils (and non fossils too) have now seen behind the curtain. The real level of corruption in this country is staggering and at least half of the voting public has some concept of how corrupt the system really is.

That's probably changed more people's political attitude than any other single factor.

8
War_Hamster 8 points ago +9 / -1

Agreed. The challenge we face is taking this awareness of the corruption and turning into a tangible movement.

Do we embrace the corrupt Dem party or the corrupt GOP? The answer is obvious, but very distasteful to myself and many others.

Third party is needed but impractical, so we are left with endeavors like Precinct Project and Convention of States. Most important is to continue to expose the corruption at every turn. Soon enough, people will be so sick of it we'll be able to start the long fix.

5
BidenLikesMiners 5 points ago +5 / -0

The dems have been corrupt longer, there are a few patriots yet in the republican party ; on the other side, pelosi might as well be working with other governments, the money flows in from every 'interest'

4
YouHadMeAtGaming 4 points ago +4 / -0

Not sure who could possibly downvote the one and only Hamster of War. But I brought you back up in the positives.

4
KekistanPM 4 points ago +4 / -0

Whenever I hear "...served in government for fifty years..." I shudder. It doesn't matter if they did everything I wanted...nobody belongs there that long. And if they somehow manage to not corrupt themselves, and somehow manage not to have $100 million dollars after that long on a $100K salary, it's only a matter of time before someone in line does.

2
DrBJTester 2 points ago +2 / -0

Even though I think I have my head around it, the real level of corruption in our government is staggering.

For all the talk about systemic racism or the patriarchy the greatest problem facing America is systemic corruption. It's embedded in what we used to call journalism as much as it is in the political ruling class. There's entitlement that makes any notion of racism seem like nothing.

That's why they hated Trump so much he wanted to unmask it and they hate us even more for seeing it.

3
roflcopt0rz_returns 3 points ago +3 / -0

I liken it to a patient with terminal cancer. And then you have a cat scan showing just how bad the cancer is. Now what you do with the information is up to you.

Society is the body, communism is the terminal cancer. Trump was the cat scan. He couldn’t remove the cancer, but he showed you just how bad the cancer is. Now, it’s up to you to decide what to do with the information.

90's democrat too. He was more like Bill than Hillary was.

12
Teddy_Rex 12 points ago +12 / -0

Not on free trade. Bill supported Nafta a huge number of union Democrats thought it would be bad for the American worker.

There is a reason the Clintons and Bushes are best friends.

A 1983 Democrat is someone who probably voted for Jimmy Carter instead of Ronald Reagan. In 1983 they probably voted for Mondale whose campaign was "I'll undo Reagan" and "My VP is a woman". However, in 1983, many, many Democrats voted for Reagan resulting in his landslide.

I'd also say in 1983 party wasn't the absolute brick wall it is now. Both sides could produce a good candidate at the local level.

11
Weloveflyovercountry 11 points ago +11 / -0

not sure about popular vote or cheating in dem cities but both 1980 and 1984 were total landsides for rreagan..i think mondale even lost his home state of MN IIRC. JFK dems would be considered far-right..though the definition of what is considered 'centist' is artificially skewed by the fake news. 1983 the judge wouldve been a middle aged kennedy dem. no fan of kennedy myself tho.

11
_Sully_ 11 points ago +11 / -0

The electoral map. Mondale won Minnesota

1
Worldtraveler0405 1 point ago +2 / -1

No doubt that Reagan's victory was larger than it was both in 1980 and 1984. Just like pulling this stunt on Trump. His victory was not in the 80 million, but 90-100 million.

1
Vsid 1 point ago +1 / -0

Part of this that cracks me up the most is that he was described as a tough-on-crime judge favorable prosecutors to get before trial, then it switched in the middle of the trial to being a favorable judge for defense lawyers to get.

We have never voted demonrat though.

52

Don't change that registration please. We're looking for people like you locally to send into roles in the poll worker and other similar positions. It's easier to get those jobs as a registered D.

CyclopticErotica 16 points ago +16 / -0

In the early 80's my Dad, a lifelong republican, ran for and won County surveyor as Democrat because the incumbent was a Republican. Being a Democrat was the only way to do it. The guy he won against was his boss, and he took a big chance. He ended up pushing the county to make it a non-partisan position which they did. He had that job until he retired, but I think that's because they eventually made it an appointed position.

I can tell you from his experiences that Democrats wanted to be what they are now then, but couldn't yet. His dislike of them them was mentioned a lot.

1
Worldtraveler0405 1 point ago +1 / -0

What do you mean being a Democrat was the only way to do it? Due to the constant anti-Republican bashing etc? Kinda like Sheriff Clarke of Milwaukee?

1
CyclopticErotica 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think the republicans had their republican. Small town politics.

11
nickybops 11 points ago +12 / -1

I was a registered dem til 2020. Voted trump 2016 though.

11
Herpawinski 11 points ago +11 / -0

Same. I was a strong Hillary supporter up until she became secretary of state. Then she disqualified herself from public office for life by meeting the Saudis half way on freedom of speech. Before her, we'd always just put our foot down whenever they attacked the 1st amendment at the UN.

Then I saw how she ran her campaign in 2016 according to Rules For Radicals, and knew these people could NEVER be allowed any power. Evil witch ruptured the country with that "deplorables" strategy alone. Targeting opponents is one thing, but the way she callously manipulated voters of both sides showed she was a combination of Berlesconi and Putin.

2
Worldtraveler0405 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yea, I remember the good 'ol ignorant times back in the late 00s. As a 16-year old etc. Thinking Bush and Republicans were the bad guys ... and Hillary the good person ... all the propaganda was working overtime for her shot in 2016. But I started to turn around from her around the 2012-13 period as well, when she blew it with Benghazi and Russia etc.

1
HeavyMetalPatriot 1 point ago +1 / -0

Bush and the Neo-Cons were the bad guys....and Hildabeast was just as bad. Uniparty is gonna Uniparty.

8
HairEStamper 8 points ago +8 / -0

I am registered as a Democrat. They had us register in our senior years in High School. I had no clue about politics then so my Economic teacher told me to register as a Democrat cause "they're the good guys for the working man."

Up until 2016 I never voted a straight ticket. 2016 and on has been straight Republican and I am just too lazy to change my party affiliation. Well I wanted to change to Independent but in my state you can only vote in Primaries if you're registered as an R or D and can only vote for said party.

5
BloodElfSupporter 5 points ago +5 / -0

I’m also still a registered D… have always voted Dem prior to Trump in 2020 but you bet I never will ever again now that I broke free from The Matrix.

Just too lazy to change my registration.

A 'normal' democrat in 1983 would be a mild conservative today. JFK today would be a MAGA, that is America First, candidate. Note Joe Manchin has stood up for America.

I'm to the right of Rush, (I miss him, and see my post history). But THIS PURIST SHIT TEST MENTALITY ARE WHAT COMMUNISTS AND DEMOCRATS DO. Wake up. Mitch Turtle Molester McConnell CLAIMS to be a republican. Yeah right.

I agree wholeheartedly. I guess that’s the difference between calling them democrats and calling them liberals/leftists.

The judge has defended the constitution, has his ringtone set to Proud to be an American, and seems well read in American history based on the quotes he’s used throughout the trial. He just loves America.

1
Prayeradime12 1 point ago +1 / -0

And America loves him back! He did a pretty damn good job all things considered. I would've liked to see him hammer down on Binger for being so sketchy and doing illegal shit, and was disappointed to see that it probably was his concern for optics that made him hold back. It is understandable to an extent but too much was on the line for any tiptoes....

PROS

  • influence the party nominations for dem general election (ony if enough of us do this)
  • blow up dem numbers in cities leading the party to think they're doing great

CONS

  • cant participate in repub decision for general election nomination (or maybe we can if we switch back to repub quick enough??..)
  • i have to actually vote for some degenerate, for which i will hate myself
10
Long_time_lurker 10 points ago +11 / -1

Problem is that the Dem primaries are rigged, so you don't have a real vote if you vote in their primaries, but yeah.

4
CyclopticErotica 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think primaries are where the real cheating happens and it where you have the least choice.

2
Friendly_B 2 points ago +2 / -0

Marxists hate the Democratic Party for often throwing their candidates out in favor of the Neocon Dems.

3

too many degenerates on Republican side that many prob hate themselves for voting, esp if they felt there was no other good option.

2

Lot of gop primaries let Democrats vote in them. Being a registered democrat gets you access to both in some states

1

3

5
Daddy_Knew_Best 5 points ago +6 / -1

lol yes i remember you. if i remember correctly- true liberals are persons who align more closely with independent values (less govt overreach). is that right? i never really knew that, and i'd be happy to take the word 'liberal' back- but most people hear that word and associate it with commie degenerates pretty quick

7
War_Hamster 7 points ago +7 / -0

The Father of Liberalism is my personal favorite historical figure, John Locke. Jefferson was a disciple.

They believed in limited government, free speech, equal protection under the law, and most importantly, that all men are created equal.

Pretty much the opposite of what those claiming to be "liberal" today believe. I use this as a red-pill argument on those people, and it sometimes works, especially in the age of censorship.

When you claim to be something you're not.......

4
GreatNW 4 points ago +4 / -0

You're seriously doing very important work spreading proper understanding of Liberty and one of history's most important figures John Locke.

Honorable mention for his 'inspiration' in logic, observations on natural law, and the Father of Empiricism, Sir Francis Bacon. An example that even nobles can break free from* the mindset of their class and position.

3
War_Hamster 3 points ago +3 / -0

Our modern society has a bit of arrogance when it comes to those great thinkers, as if we are somehow superior to them because of our technology.

The opposite is true; they were physiologically identical to us in terms of brain power, yet they had so few distractions compared to today that they were able to focus on their study of human behavior much more diligently.

They were giants.

3
Daddy_Knew_Best 3 points ago +3 / -0

i will look up John Locke. i must learn more about this. thank you

5
War_Hamster 5 points ago +5 / -0

The one theory of Locke that has shaped history the most was "Tabula Rasa". It means "blank slate".

He was arguing that we are all born knowing nothing and that all knowledge is experiential. It flowed from there that if we are all born knowing nothing, we are all EQUALLY ignorant at birth.

This is where the powerful "all men are created equal" came from.

The importance is that throughout history, those who rule had always argued for some sort of divine right or superiority. This is the nature vs nurture argument on steroids, and it encompasses the entire fight against tyranny that has existed for all of human history.

It's also why the same people who founded the Marxist movement also were huge backers of Darwin and Eugenics.

https://philosophybreak.com/articles/john-lockes-empiricism-why-we-are-all-tabula-rasas-blank-slates/

One definition of Liberal = Authoritarian, Big Government.. Nanny State.

The other is just about the opposite.. Anti-Authoritarian, Skeptical of Big Gov't

-1
GenericName0101 -1 points ago +1 / -2

Liberal has two different meanings, and both apply to politics. Liberal in one sense of the word means "A lot of something" We often see in instructions to "Apply Liberally" Meaning apply a lot of it. In the political sense it means "Apply a lot of Government" Opposite of Conservative, meaning, use less.

Liberal also means Open-Minded or Live and let Live. Sex, Drugs, Rock and Roll, anti-establishment. Two very different political spheres, but both are called Liberal

1
Friendly_B 1 point ago +1 / -0

Interesting. You use the definition "a lot of something" which I agree with. However I have always called that "carelessly" instead which kind of aligns more with your second definition.

2
GenericName0101 2 points ago +2 / -0

Like when it says to apply Shampoo liberally, or skin lotion, it means take a lot of it and apply a lot of it. If it says apply conservatively, it means, use just a small amount.

A Liberal application of Government rule and authority is Leftism, it is Authoritarianism. Compared to a small amount of Gov't rule and authority, which is conservative.

1
Friendly_B 1 point ago +1 / -0

Agreed on both. This is why "classical liberal" is a phrase so heavily in use now. There are actually several conflicting definitions.

I don't think I'd use the word "moderate" for Clinton. He just worked with Republican globalists to push their common agenda, and it was anything but moderate. They just had to pretend to be somewhat less insane than today's globalists are.

Clinton was a continuation of Bush, and both have deep CIA ties.

3
Friendly_B 3 points ago +3 / -0

I would call him a Neocon Dem. Like Obama.

4

I should add, Clinton was the one who taught Dems how to get big donor bucks from corporations.

2
Friendly_B 2 points ago +2 / -0

"Blue" and "Red" for party affiliation wasn't really rigid until recent decades. Sometimes news stations would use the opposite colors or whatever which doesn't mean a party switch but it does create confusion.

2
GarudaOne 2 points ago +2 / -0

It was the 2000 election and the Florida recount shenanigans that dragged on that cemented the Republican = Red and Democrat = Blue color scheme.

Old school democrat though. I’m in the Pittsburgh area and a lot of steel workers were and continue to be pro union and Democrat by default. Other than that they are generally conservative but vote D because to vote other than D is some kind of taboo for them. My great uncle was a steel worker and super loyal Democrat, and it took him until shortly before he died to admit to my mom he didn’t agree with his party anymore.

2

Taboo ... kinda like what represents it for Bruce Springsteen. Knowing the 'intent' of his songs were always to ring for the 'working class' aka Democrats. Political affiliation should have zero to do with any of this, but it does unfortunately. That’s the world we’ve allowed these people to create. No more.

Old school dems are more like right leaning centrist in today’s standers. Wish they would just stop voting based on party lines. My grandfather (77) is the same way. An old American indian that served in Vietnam and has the same beliefs as the republicans. But because dems where popular in the south in his day he still votes for them 🥴

That democrat has a conscience. Not downplaying his judgement on the various issues in this trial. But i bet there was also a bite on the back of his brain not wanting to be the one that throws the gave that puts an innocent man away for life, or worse. He is a good man.

The prosecution weren’t democrats. They were America hating extremists posing as democrats.

Traditionally a democrats isn’t a terrible person. Hell, Trump was a moderate Dem his whole life.

You pedes on Telegram see some of these ridiculous claims that the court was a green screen due to some guys foot disappearance? Also there is people claiming Kyle is a Free Mason making hand gestures to the judge. Some serious Qtards or whatever is still lingering deep into people's minds.

DrinkMoreLibTears 2 points ago +2 / -0

My first thought was that would be a neat idea, then I realized that they will be screening his mail for a bit, and if we all did that it would be a nightmare for them.

If you watched the trial you saw how the Judge really was. He yelled at Binger for going over the line and then just like a Democrat didnt hold him responsible and did nothing about it.

'NARRATIVE COLLAPSE' should be a flair. We see a lot of narratives collapsing.

zeporscheguy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Don't even bring politics into it. The video evidence is clear as day and politics dont matter. Kyle was attacked and Kyle defended himself, period.
