Our priest did his entire homily on the discussion between Jesus and Pilate about truth. Except instead of staid platitudes, he started spitting fire about how popular culture rejects universal truth about biology and thousands of years of common sense, and how it was the duty of Catholics and Christians to loudly reject this. If you reject the truth, then you reject Jesus.*

He later quoted writings from Pope Benedict about how moral relativism is the biggest threat to the world. He also said this moral relativism has even infected the churches under the guise of tolerance and acceptance.

*John 18:37 if you're interested.

I'm glad you posted this, It's always encouraging to hear about based priests. I'm sure more are based but are hesitant to speak out due to concern of retaliation from the parishioners or bishops. They need our support.

Most of the younger ones I've encountered seem like #OurGuys. I think they're flat out done with the gradual turn from staunch anti-communist to borderline actual communist viewpoints.

Wakey wakey, I’ve been to the range with Father Flex (American Ninja Warrior). He spent tours in Iraq and Afghanistan before he decided to become a priest. Still loves guns and has made it his mission to bring new masculinity to the priesthood to attract more regular dudes to the vocation. So there’s at least one for ya.

tolerance is liberal code for putting up with shit you know is wrong.

They aren't 'liberals', they're leftists.

John 18:37

You are a king then?” Pilate asked. “You say that I’m a king,” Jesus replied. “I was born for this, and I have come into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice."”

Good news. There are many based Catholics if you look around. Look up father Altman on YouTube.

This. I’ve lapsed in and out of churches for a while.

Shopping around it was quite enlightening seeing the range of church philosophies

Churches that say this grow.

The others have people leave...

Was arguing with someone here yesterday that you have to put your faith somewhere, I chose God (Joshua 24:15)

He said he put his faith in liberty and individual rights.

I said, where do those come from? If not God, then people. Then that definition from people will be different for everyone.

6
Butt-or-Face 6 points ago +6 / -0

Amen to that. This is an unavoidable "truth".

Either your rights are God given, and that God has a face, or your rights were given by man and they are worthless.

Heard similar things from our priest Saturday night!

Latin_Patriot_MAGA 6 points ago +6 / -0

Pope Benedict XVI was dismissed as Pope, because he would denounce the dirtiness of the Vatican, and that is why they ordered him to shut up and be dismissed, now the current "pope" is a communist piece of shit.

Interesting. How does the modern catholic church view Pilate? Eastern orthodox churches used to look at him a bit more sympathetically.

If you want to read a great account of this meeting, read Bulgakov's Master and Margarita. The Christ-Pilate relationship is one part of a great book (anti-soviet) about the devil visiting Moscow in the 1930s. The Pilate sections are not entirely based on scripture, but an interesting read.

SuperZu [S] 15 points ago +15 / -0

From the catholic encyclopedia:

Pilate is a type of the worldly man, knowing the right and anxious to do it so far as it can be done without personal sacrifice of any kind, but yielding easily to pressure from those whose interest it is that he should act otherwise. He would gladly have acquitted Christ, and even made serious efforts in that direction, but gave way at once when his own position was threatened.

So... Basically a modern western man.

Interesting. Unfortunately, man has always seemed to be such.

Yes, one of my faves. Always thought Trump was a bit like Woland.....exposing the hypocrisy and ludicrous nature of ruling society. Who do we get to play Behemoth? Alex Jones...lol.

The Second Vatican Council was brought to bear under the auspices of unlawful obedience, just as the freemasons said they'd do back in the 1800s. It's like a fish who decides to bite on the worm, the Church is going to have a hard time shaking off this hook. But Christ will not abandon His bride.

...AND the "come join the Orthodox Church" brigade will be here in 3..2..

"You're a Bolshevik? An Ottoman invader? No problem, we get along with you fine! Opa!"

1
Butt-or-Face 1 point ago +1 / -0

We must also reject the idea of "work hard to get things".

No, God in his grace has already given us what we need. We were helpless beings who could never achieve anything alone, unlike what society tells us, we've been given what we need and now we just need to use it.

That's nice, but the vast majority of churches across this country (by population service) are as commie as the DNC, and will only ever serve to give your wife all the support in the world for her inevitable divorce from you. I will NEVER find a based church in NJ.

Would be nice, could maybe find a wife, but it just don't exist in NJ, and even a good church wouldn't help you with the one thing they're there for, family life and the aforementioned wife-search.

Interesting. I never realized what the Talmud was and why even "observant Jews" don't carryout the Biblically prescribed way of worship/life. Of course, what I've watched so far is certainly heavy-handed and edited, but it does bring up interesting questions.

John 18:37. Hmmm...18 x 37 = 666

-3
lordvon -3 points ago +4 / -7

if hes catholic he should not reject the truth that the catholic church is the largest or 2nd largest organized pedo network in history. also the current pope is satanic globohomo

10
Juanye 10 points ago +10 / -0

Bad folks involved but the Church is still right about everything.

-2
lordvon -2 points ago +1 / -3

right about moving child molester priests to other locations to molest other children?

2
Juanye 2 points ago +2 / -0

No. That’s not dogma. Nice straw man tho

1
lordvon 1 point ago +1 / -0

its not dogma. its what the church does though.

1
Juanye 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes. Horrendous stuff.

2
kornesque 2 points ago +2 / -0

He said the Church is still right, not commie infiltrators.

-1
lordvon -1 points ago +1 / -2

the church did that. the priests did the molesting.

3
kornesque 3 points ago +3 / -0

The Church did what? I agree lots of priests were/are molestors and corrupt leadership enabled it, but it's like saying America is bad because Biden is in the WH.

1
lordvon 1 point ago +1 / -0

priests who were caught molesting were relocated.

1
kornesque 1 point ago +1 / -0

No dispute there. Bureaucrats who get caught get relocated too.

3
JLCan 3 points ago +3 / -0

Beyond egregious when a priest uses his position to abuse children. But there is no higher incidence of pedophilia among the priesthood than the general population. It's just worse when a priest does it.

0
lordvon 0 points ago +1 / -1

whoa high standards. how bout compared to protestant members? rabbis?

-7
Bigheadwjc -7 points ago +1 / -8

Very nice. All that aside, the Roman Catholic Church is a cancer. The fact that you differentiate Catholic, and Christian is a prime example of that.

5
SuperZu [S] 5 points ago +5 / -0

I was trying to be polite. How about "Roman Catholics, the Eastern Orthodox Church, and 154,282 Christ-derived sects of varying levels of herecy"?

-4
Bigheadwjc -4 points ago +1 / -5

Christianity is Christianity. Fuck the Pope, fuck priest that can’t marry. Fuck it! The term Roman Catholic is a contradiction in terms. Fuck being polite!

-13
Longhairedzombie -13 points ago +5 / -18

Roman Catholics well the whole "religion" is a cult that changed the Bible so they can worship idols, and to have sex with children.

Tbh I always was confused why John Paul II kept hanging on so long and why his successor, WHO IS STILL ALIVE AND KICKING, was "retired" after a few years. After seeing Francis in action, I 100% believe there was some shady byzantine power struggle in the background.

Benedict was based AF. The homo-pedo alliance in the Vatican forced him out

0
kornesque 0 points ago +1 / -1

Benedict is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He abdicated and allowed a wolf in wolves clothing to pretend he's pontiff. At least that's how the evidence appears.

1
Tronbot 1 point ago +1 / -0

I highly doubt he was given a choice

The Bible and the New Testament was revealed to be scripture to the Catholic Church. Protestants changed the Bible 500 years ago to remove anything that contradicts their man made traditions of sola scriptura and sola fidae. The Bible is a Catholic book, with out the Catholic Church you would have no definitive New Testament

3
kornesque 3 points ago +3 / -0

Preach. I love the devotion Protestant religions have to Scripture but they're brainwashed into parts being apocryphal using apologetics that always end up in circles.

3
JLCan 3 points ago +3 / -0

Very true - the Bible, brought to you by Catholicism. Still love my protestant brothers and sisters.
