Death juice aside - what a bunch of pussies that are being raised. Who needs that many distractions for a needle? Outside the cropping of the pic, he's probably getting a foot rub

Edit: If he is autistic, I see it a bit differently, but in every scenario the parents are insane

Dude I remember getting 4 fillings in my mouth with no happy gas. Just a couple painful shots in my mouth that didn’t really numb any localized pain. Was a hard hour but an hour which I realized I had gone from boy to MAN.

pente1776 49 points ago +49 / -0

I became a man a different way. Not saying you didn't become a man when things were put into your mouth. Just sayin' it was different for me.

RumDrummer 17 points ago +17 / -0

Just like OP, I did not see that coming.

Regardless 5 points ago +5 / -0

Not only were things put into his mouth, things were also removed from his mouth.

Paul_Revere 17 points ago +17 / -0

"I remember getting 4 fillings in my mouth with no happy gas. Just a couple painful shots in my mouth that didn’t really numb any localized pain."

You had it easy. When I was a kid, our dentist didn't use any anaesthesia at all.

I left town, got married and was well into my twenties before I discovered that most modern dentists use needle anaesthetic, and it works very well. What a revelation!

elfmyself 9 points ago +9 / -0

Everyone is different, but I've had fillings with no anesthetic. It doesn't hurt much. I can imagine if your filling is going deep that it could get painful.

Tbonius45maximus 7 points ago +7 / -0

I took a sick pleasure in the dentists drilling and crap, idk why but the pain was a challenge and i enjoyed it lol from a guy that will go to extreme lengths to protect his own skin, scared of heights etc. weird i never really thought of it before

Retardloserimsogay 6 points ago +6 / -0

I actually had one pulled and against the dentist request denied Novocain was a great idea until the tooth broke and took a while to get all the pieces. I get the Cain now.

Tbonius45maximus 1 point ago +1 / -0

I actually had a kind of phobia against novacain after biting my tongue and i couldn't feel it

Junionthepipeline 1 point ago +1 / -0

Have a tooth pulled without it.never doing that again.

repent_and_believe 1 point ago +1 / -0

Rhuairhi 2 points ago +2 / -0

I had one filling my whole life. But got an abscess years later, so had to get that tooth pulled. Glad my parents had me drink a mug of milk every day. And us brits are supposed to be the ones with bad teeth! Heh

WikkiWikki420 6 points ago +7 / -1

I had 5 teeth extracted when I had my wisdom teeth pulled. The fifth tooth was an impacted tooth that pretty much fell out when the wisdom tooth, it was impacted behind, was extracted. I had no local anesthetic. I had no happy gas. I just had a lot of trust and faith in my dentist, my navy dentist uncle. I also had no painkillers prescribed or taken afterwards. People are just pussies these days.

IHatePedophiles 8 points ago +8 / -0

Frankly, you're retarded for not getting local anesthetic. It's one thing to tough out "unintended" pain, but completely dumb to just be in pain when you have the choice for anesthetic.

WikkiWikki420 0 points ago +1 / -1

Didn’t need it

evenbiggerchubbys 3 points ago +3 / -0

I had my impacted wisdom teeth out with local anaesthetic. I’ll Admit it was a painful experience but I’m also an amputee. So my pain tolerance is pretty high to begin with ,but people now are afraid to feel pain. Pain is a reminder.

RufusPillula 21 points ago +21 / -0

How appropriate. A Virtual Reality mask for a Virtual Pandemic.

BlowfishandFunk 7 points ago +7 / -0

I remember freaking out and not holding still for a series of tetanus shots, and my dad laid me down and slapped me across the face in front of the nurse. He slapped me and just sternly said "stop". He probably would've been arrested today lol

loverat 2 points ago +2 / -0

Rofl! My dad did the same thing to my brother. The three of us were in a car accident. Bro had a 1 inch cut in the crease of his chin, me - a girl - ended up having 30 stitches inside my mouth (we both hit the dashboard with our faces - I hit the sharp radio edge INSIDE my mouth) My brother threw off like 5 docs and nurses getting 2 stitches and went MENTAL till dad slapped him. I was fine. Even though we are both in our 50's I love to remind him about what an utter pussy he was.

independentbystander 3 points ago +3 / -0

This! They gave me a phobia about doctors/nurses holding me down.

> Then doctors gave me the real thing by being shady & unethical

DCdeplorable 1 point ago +1 / -0

Me too. I developed some severe issues due to that which lingered into my late teens. Ive seen research on a similar product, its really not so bad. It goes through each step of getting an injection, from cleaning through the final bandaid, while cute cartoon characters describe the sensations involved like cooling for the alcohol pad and then heat for the injection. Anyway im just saying that while the view from the outside is objectively bad, i would have preferred the vr experience to being dragged out from under the exam table crying

Ballind 5 points ago +5 / -0

Did they try telling you to stop being a pussy when you cried? That should've worked

DCdeplorable 1 point ago +1 / -0

Haha no, maybe it would have worked but when I was 3 or 5 years old probably not. After that, I didnt care what they said, they were the enemy trying to stab me and make me suffer.

Vino 18 points ago +23 / -5

Fuck you bro. I have 2 fears: heights and needles. Needles scare the absolute shit out of me.

DCdeplorable 12 points ago +12 / -0

Today, decades later, i have to wonder if my fear of needles was actually created by the inhumane inoculation schedule we're subjected to. Later in life ive received injections that helped - fluids, strong opiates as my appendix was about to rupture - but to a child all this toxic unnecessary bullshit (and the associated side effects) must have made that little pin prick feel like a bullet to the chest

Dahnald2020 8 points ago +8 / -0

That's why the schedule is so aggressive- to get you shot up before you can form long term memories

Jacobite 10 points ago +13 / -3

What about needles that get you high?

AmericanMan00 4 points ago +4 / -0

I don't know how they do it, I have a huge, unreasonable, fear of being jabbed by needles.

LauriThorne 18 points ago +18 / -0

The company that makes that headset says it helps people with chronic pain, addiction, and mental illness. That article doesn't mention mental illness but the headset is a non-issue compared to the jab for an 8 year old.

DCdeplorable 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah this photo is weird. Getting your clot shot isnt chronic pain, idk what they're doing there. Ive seen a different vr product specifically for shots but i dont think its applied vr

Stupidlibtards 3 points ago +3 / -0

They are storing all the morphine and morphine derivatives for the other side in the wars to come while pushing this virtual VR bullshit on everyone else.

SecondProtectsFirst 1 point ago +1 / -0

Stupidlibtards 1 point ago +1 / -0

Talking about war. Not a fucking autistic spas kid

Seadan 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's very likely a kid with special needs. Those hands and arm aren't being held like that out of love. It's to protect the kid and staff from flailing arms.

ohiopede 2 points ago +2 / -0

I mean, you're relying on the news to give you an accurate representation of the picture and when does that ever happen. If true as stated then holy fuck. He could also be there for something else and getting the vaccine at the same time. Or maybe not getting the vaccine in that pic at all because, if the parents are both comforting him like that WHO THE FUCK IS TAKING THE PICTURE AND WHY? Still shouldn't be getting the shot in the first place though.

DCdeplorable 2 points ago +2 / -0

In a few minutes of research i found that on the original article (https://apnews.com/article/coronavirus-pandemic-health-middle-east-israel-tel-aviv-0ad5635acd76adcac3db96088cbeeca3) they changed the picture to one without VR, shortly after poso tweeted this. Both have the same photog credit so I guess they sent someone to take lots of pictures that day. Still can't understand why a chronic pain vr company is involved though. Just seems weird.

akira2501 1 point ago +1 / -0

Bernier4Canada 1 point ago +1 / -0

The best part is that no child under 12 years old should ever have any VR goggles on, it's literally two fucking screens a mere inch from your face. It fucks up their eyes while they're still growing.

But who cares about his health right, as long as he gets his jab

edit: apparently this is designed for health related things, so perhaps there's more to it than usual VR sets, which have ages set at 12-13+

Cumberbuns 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's a myth it does not fuck up your eyes.

Bernier4Canada 1 point ago +1 / -0

it's not like the kid puts it on and suddenly has eye problems for life, but if you think there's no permanent eyesight issues for kids excessively strapping 2 screens an inch from their eyes, i don't know what to tell you.

Cumberbuns 1 point ago +1 / -0

Do you have any research that I could refrence?

The world is being punished for turning it's back on God, the consequence is God turning His back on us. We have the promised effeminate leaders and are rushing to hell in the proverbial handbasket.

At some point we will lose all worldly hope and turn back to God for salvation, and as He has always done He will bring relief. Pray, be overt in recognizing Christ is King and love your neighbor.

Jewish legend. I'm not sure where it came from. Talmud, Mishnah, not sure. Goes like this.

In the temple was a chamber called the Holy of Holies. Within this chamber was the ark with the Ten Commandments that was given to Moses at Mount Sinai (the second set, since Moses broke the first when he saw the Israelites worshipping the golden calf)

The Holy of Holies would be entered once a year by the Cohen Godal, the highest ranking priest, on Yom Kippur. For the rest of the year no one would go in.

There were two cherubs above the ark. They say when the Jews were following G-d's commandments, the cherubs would be facing each other. When the Jews were straying from G-d's commandments, the cherubs would be looking away from each other. Or worse, have their backs facing each other.

When the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem and destroyed the First Temple, they went in and stole the treasures. After the battle -- the city was on fire, people were being killed, captured, dragged off to slavery, women raped, children terrified -- the soldiers dragged out, with the other treasures, the two cherubs from the Holy of Holies.

They say at that time the two cherubs were locked in a perfect embrace.

America1stAndOnly 1 point ago +1 / -0

So, why are you afraid to type "God"?

Shalomtoyou 1 point ago +1 / -0

Jewish custom to not write out the full name. That's all.

America1stAndOnly 1 point ago +1 / -0

But why? What do they think will happen if they do write it out in full?

Shalomtoyou 1 point ago +1 / -0

A document with the name of G-d on it is one that needs to be venerated and respected. You can't take a document with G-d's name on it and throw it in the trash or the fire, as that would be considered a desecration. Since you can't tell what will happen to any random document (say you leave it carefully in your desk, but 50 years after you pass on, some stranger rifles through your belongings and rips up G-d's name) it's considered better to not write it out fully. Hinting at it with the hyphen means a particular document can be disposed of. You can toss it into the wastepaper basket and worry about it no more.

So that's the origin of the custom.

"Unfettered American capitalism"?

  • We have a 75,000 page Federal Register Einstein.

  • 45% of the national income is paid in taxes.

  • Our government spends exponentially more than any nation in the history of the world.

  • Over 10% of the American people work for government.

It's pretty clear you don't understand the definition of the word "unfettered". Well, either that or you're just regurgitating idiotic Bernie Sanders platitudes.

And by the way, "capitalism" is just free people engaging in mutually beneficial, VOLUNTARY exchanges. If that frightens you, you're a brainwashed automaton.

"American capitalism"? No, this is plain old collusion/cronyism/fascism/socialism. You need some economic history lessons my friend. And I'm being serious, not snarky or insulting (I hope). Look up Mises.org, they can help you out a lot.

When a tool is used in bad ways, you don't blame the tool. You blame the malevolent actor who is wielding the tool. If I go around bashing people with a hammer, that doesn't mean the hammer is bad, it means I am.

deleted -14 points ago +2 / -16
Roadpower 13 points ago +13 / -0

Ahh I see, you don't want an actual free economic action (which we don't have and Mises argues for). You want exactly what you are arguing against but instead you get to be in control.

If only we had the right people in charge then the fascism/socialism would work!

Schroeder09 4 points ago +4 / -0

idk y everyone is dogpiling you. The "real capitalism has never been tried" argument always reminds me of the "communism has never been tried" argument too.

Guys, I think starf*cks's argument is there can not be true and total capitalism. This isn't out of line with MAGA. Bannon is constantly talking about regulation and breaking up these giant corps like google and cuckbook. I agree with these ideas, and we have laws on the books that aren't being used to stop cuckbook and google. Bannon is also always talking about taxing these giant corps. I'm for that, but I don't think you can do it. Isn't it impossible to tax a business? They just pass it on to the customer. How do you make the corporation pay the tax? The only mechanism I can think of is in a free market. If the anti-monopoly laws are enforced then there is more competition in the market. the best product and cheapest price gets the business. Whichever business is absorbing the tax and providing the cheaper product gets the business. Is that it? Is that the only way to make sure business absorbs the tax? This seems like a very, very academic idea that would not transfer to reality.

Yet it turns out Mises himself is always right in the end.

Noone321 2 points ago +2 / -0

This is why I love lolberts. They think corporations and businesses would magically check themselves, rather than destroy competition by buying up everything, subsidizing different subsidiaries to latch onto more customer loyalty, and creating monopolies. Late-stage competition ALWAYS ends up eating up everything except the winner. We saw it in every industry in the 1890’s, and we’re seeing that in tech today. A lib-right “an”-cap utopia is just as real as a communist utopia.

Government has been essential in trust busting and allowing competition/free market conditions. Unfortunately, the days of Teddy Roosevelt Republicans and William Jennings Bryan Democrats are long over, and are now replaced with CCP-sympathizing globalist stooges.

800080 1 point ago +1 / -0

If a shot is intended to go into the muscle they stick it straight in. It'll be absorbed by your system faster. Think Epi-Pen of adrenaline, a nerve gas antidote or an anti-overdose drug.

If it's supposed to be subcutaneous (under the skin) they pinch it up and go in more sideways with the needle. These get into the system more slowly.

The difference is how fast they want it to be absorbed by your system.

Honestly American society specifically has blended the knee to medial “science”.

It’s a religion which advocates and has successfully imposed the notion of “best practices” in every possible facet.

There is no competition. There is no choice. And insurance whose job it should be to advocate for reduced prices are instead approving this nonsense and their abject failure is passed along to everyone in the form of ridiculously unaffordable prices.

Eliminate all insurance tomorrow and you have less bureaucracy, competitive prices, and a system which actually be excited to provide you something like ivermectin. Imagine that.
