Happy thanksgiving from across the pond.

As one 'traveler' to another, Happy Thanksgiving. On my 'travels' I've had T-Day at a Denny's, alone. Take care.

Sitting in a Dennys right now. Breakfast time. Just close to home like on most days off. Always interesting conversations at the breakfast bar with truck drivers and other essential workers. Don't care for this overcommercialized holiday as much as for the commercial Christmas.

just an aside JustBoo -- "traveler" is leftist code for Socialist. ICYMI no criticism intended. Just information

5
peltast 5 points ago +5 / -0

I thought that the code was "fellow traveler"?

4
boomerbutnotOKBoomer 4 points ago +4 / -0

they have been used interchangeably for decades

4
JustBoo 4 points ago +4 / -0

From one 'Boo' to the another, Thanks. That had not even entered my mind.

My thought was more a Fellow Traveler in being a MAGA conservative in a liberal wasteland. Like travelers in an ancient caravan on the road to Truth, Justice and the American Way. :) Plus, I did physically travel a lot, alone, when I was younger. Take care.

You must be young. That's been code for communist or socialist for decades. https://www.thefreedictionary.com/fellow+traveler

you don't need to be snarky... maybe next time look it up before you attack.

There are a lot of us here in the exact same situation. We turned down a family invitation for the same reason. I personally don't care anymore to see family that criticizes us. They can all go pound sand.

If you're near new Orleans yall can come to our Thanksgiving. We're having turkey and sausage gumbo, and we have plenty.

40
Glock43Groves [S] 40 points ago +40 / -0

That sounds like a New Orleans delicacy.

I'm the only unvaxxed at my house of young adults and my wife and will have a few guests this weekend. Of course, I'm the one who pays for most everything around here, so they have no choice but to show tolerance. Funny how that works.

Europede here. My family thinks I am crazy after I tried to warn them about what is going on and we have basically stopped speaking.

Obviously I don't know you personally, but you would be welcomed at my solo thanksgiving as family.

10
RegularAmerican 10 points ago +10 / -0

Y'all celebrate Thanksgiving too? Thought it was an American thing.

18
RareVikingPepe 18 points ago +18 / -0

I might have been born in Europe, but I am a MAGAmerican at heart. I even played football in my local town. Not exactly high standards compared to America, but we won several national championships.

Stay at home an start "Making" your OWN Family. As for Frens, you have Thousands here.

Seriously... Both my Wife and I cut ties with the Very Toxic elements of our respective families [down to an Uncle and a couple Cousins] over 8 years ago. You would not believe how much better our life is because of it. She and I are Partners against the world, with with a small vetted group of good friends that actually care better than 'Family' ever did. Our kids aren't the hellions like we had seen at prior family gatherings either.

Kudos to your Husband and yourself... You cannot pick your family, but you can choose not to put up with their BS.

Yeah, & she's complaining, good grief. My God, I wish I had a Based husband to share Thanksgiving with.

Ok going back to bed, it's just 10 more hours until a new day. Maybe I can fix me something to eat then.

oh, & Happy Thanksgiving every one.

16
Bullwinkle 16 points ago +16 / -0

Happy Thanksgiving.

15
slimcoat 15 points ago +16 / -1

You're not even necessarily being hated for your political beliefs, just a personal choice that they disagreed with. Still, it's the right call. Who wants to hang out with a bunch of losers on Thanksgiving?

24
Glock43Groves [S] 24 points ago +24 / -0

You don't know the whole story. They have been harassing us for supporting trump and calling us terrorists. Even nazis.

24
Wordlife187 24 points ago +24 / -0

At that point, even a "no politics" rule would be out the window. Hanging out with people who call you a nazi and terrorist isn't going to happen. Family or not.

5
WhoMeTwo 5 points ago +5 / -0

THIS IS THE WAY

11
slimcoat 11 points ago +11 / -0

Sheesh. You guys really are making the right call. Might be time to cut them off completely. You're going to have a much better Thanksgiving with each other. Speaking of which, Happy Thanksgiving!

5
Miztivin 5 points ago +5 / -0

Ah I see. I was thinking, poor grandma, mostly because it seems like it wasn't her decision and she still wanted to see you, but that makes sense. Dang. Still. Poor lady, stuck with the loonies. But, what can you do other than stand up for yourselves? Kudos.

5
ForrestTrump 5 points ago +5 / -0

If they actually believed that they wouldn't invite you, though.

They clearly still want you around. I think it's a shame that this stuff prevents families from seeing each other no matter which side decides that they don't want to tolerate the other.

Obviously it's your choice, I'm just saying that it's sad.

11
Elanea32 11 points ago +11 / -0

It’s hard when you don’t feel welcomed by family. My husband and I are not in line with most of our families’ political beliefs, on both sides. Our rule is no politics ever and we have enjoyable get togethers. The rule started when the whole family jumped on us with full on BDS because, of course, being from Texas means we are responsible for everything he did. Threatened to keep the grandkids away so the rule was started. It would still be nice to be able to talk about politics but c’est la guerre.

3
Wordlife187 3 points ago +3 / -0

No politics!? Lols. It's been infused into everything now. Hard to avoid. Plus, shitty on Biden is a fun past time for everyone.

3
JoinTheDiscussion 3 points ago +4 / -1

Just ask how much their trip cost them

10
yukondave 10 points ago +10 / -0

We had the blow out in August when I hit them with the Israeli data showing the vaccine does not stop transmission and everyone is going to get it to get through this. It took until a couple of weeks ago when they began to turn around and are realising they have been lied to.

Every week I ask, so how many rare breakthrough infections do YOU know personally? Wow, that's more than last year. Does not sound very break through. Non-stop and don't stop.

Keep it simple.

Hi brother, do you still believe the vaccine stops transmission? The NPC answer is "it stops death".

So you believe it stops death, you mean like it was supposed to stop infection? So you don't believe it stops infection?

Help me understand why do you care about vaccinating others?

So you still believe in masks? You do know South Korea and Japan are on fire with Covid right now.

So help me understand why you believe the vaccine cured cancer and the FLU last year?

Keep it to one liners, have a funny face, mock them and it will get through.

AMEN! My thanksgiving and friendsgiving the next day are Vaxx free and everyone knows when someone brings up any political, vaccine related, you name it, i play to win and i know my stuff haha. All my friends and family feed off of me it seems and know im the only person they know who really keeps up on important things. Saved my parents from being losely pro vaccine and now they are getting shit from my family members for it. Be loud, be proud, be free and never bow. The thing im most thankful for is all pedes here in the forums and all across the infowar for making the globalist takeover tougher than hell on the demons pushing it.

I’m right there with you. Every year I pride myself on making the best damn turkey. I was excluded from Christmas last year because they were afraid too many people might cause an outbreak. Haven’t talked to them since, and this Thanksgiving it’s just me, myself, and I. I’m just glad to have seen who people really are, and remove that cancer from my life.

Good to hear you forge your own path, fren. Anyone that forces a medical experiment on someone weaker than them, is evil.

ZERO tolerance policy for ANYONE that tries to abuse you, whether it be physically or mentally... even if they're "family".

I'm wishing you the Happiest of Thanksgivings!

I too am refusing to open my doors this holiday season to family who actively support mandates and the destruction of careers, financial ruin of lives, families, and the freedom to control our own bodies against government crony capitalism.

They can take their "It's just politics, we are family!" and shove it up their communist asses.

Us too but bc who wants to deal w the traffic just to go back to the plant on fucking Saturday? My family is awesome. My mother took 1 test once for work is the extent of covid impact in my 3 generation immediate family of 12. 1 test is all they got from us and a counterfeit vaccine card on the fridge bc Philadelphia is for faggots now

3
Forbidden_outcast 3 points ago +3 / -0

There are family members that wouldn’t exclude myself and my family, but I have to exclude us anyway. Because if anyone got sick or had anything happen to them at all after a visit- they would blame it on the unjabbed.

We had a birthday party scheduled for my uncle, knowing it was probably his last, and me and a cousin bowed out for that very reason. It was for a Saturday. It ended up getting cancelled, (bc everyone was so afraid of Covid) (all older/elderly) and they found him in his barn the following Monday. Had we gone to the party- some idiot would have said it was bc of us, and would honestly believe it!

I will go around people in the family even if they’re jabbed, unless they constantly talk about the jabs, promote Covid porn, and beg everyone else to get the fake vax “for the Love of God- please everyone get “vaxxed”. (They actually say that in group messages.) Is infuriating.

It’s like, I’m trying to love you and spend time with you, but you, in your own ignorance- are pushing away the very people who want to do that. Not to mention I didn’t get to see that uncle before he passed. That hurts and angers me!
