I will not watch one minute of that "woke" garbage.

The closest I will get: the Critical Drinker rips on it in several videos, which is probably much more entertaining and honest than the movie (which appears to be typical PC propaganda, focused more on subverting tradition than producing something of value.)

> Edit: oh noes, from the article:

The movie cost more than $250 million to produce, at least $100 million to promote and tens of millions more to postpone over 16 months. Insiders say “No Time to Die” needs to make closer to $900 million to break even, a feat that would have been realistic had a global health crisis not entirely upended the theater industry. As a result, the film now stands to lose $100 million in its theatrical run

LOLCATS!!! They think their "Ghostbusters 2016" version of a Bond movie can do box-office similar to "The Force Awakens?" It's not the planDemic keeping me disinterested in Hollywood, it's the crappy content and the constant "fuk wipipo" woke-scolding.

AOCDickPics 38 points ago +38 / -0

Critical Drinker does a good job articulating why woke stories are garbage aside from just political ideology.

Only so many woke stories you can tell. It's the same pattern over and over. Breaks a lot of basic rules of storytelling, low quality scripts due to diversity hiring, uninteresting characters because they can't have flaws because they're stronk wammen, etc.

PaigeAshley 9 points ago +9 / -0

I love watching Critical Drinkers vids.

Dave Cullen has some great ones too.

SPEDMan64 5 points ago +5 / -0

Exactly. The theaters near me have been open for a while now but I don't go because there is nothing out that I would pay to see, and likely would not even obtain on the high seas either.

And even if the movie looked good, if it stars any of the asshats that have made shit comments on social media they aren't even getting to sniff the money in my wallet let alone receive any.

macocontentfarmer 3 points ago +3 / -0

Dune was pretty good, watched it on hbo… but yeah, otherwise nothing appealing.

schnazzmizzle 4 points ago +4 / -0

I bootlegged it a couple weeks ago and still haven't watched that trash.

TURNITBACKONTHEM2 1 point ago +1 / -0

Same, got a high quality web rip and no one has watched it yet.

ForrestTrump 2 points ago +2 / -0

There is nothing about this movie that is "fuck wipipo"

independentbystander 2 points ago +2 / -0

Having a strong-sassy POC female introduced as his replacement? Killing Bond off at the end? Those are pretty strong "woke" vibes, also: Sean Connery is Bond so all that "007-Lite" garbage can fuck right off.

ForrestTrump 2 points ago +2 / -0

Bond getting killed is a pretty logical thing to do given its the end of this bond storyline.

Movies are rebooted now and what you'll see going forward is that each bond actors movies will contain an overarching storyline that will conclude with their final film and then it will be rebooted again. Welcome to cinema.

giacomo 49 points ago +51 / -2

It all went downhill with Daniel Craig. He's also anti-gun rights, so fuck him. He makes lots of money glorifying violence.

AOCDickPics 34 points ago +34 / -0

In an interview he said he didn't want to be best known for Bond, lmao. It's like why would you accept such an iconic character then.

Wexit-Delecto 27 points ago +27 / -0

To participate in destroying the character and no other reason.

Workingdays 3 points ago +5 / -2

Now what kind or (((people))) would do that?

Wexit-Delecto 1 point ago +3 / -2

It's (legally) hard to say. Nobody nose!

Totally_Not_FBI 8 points ago +8 / -0

Shitloads of money, that's why.

TommyJarvis 19 points ago +19 / -0

He was a terrible Bond. I mean at least Timothy Dalton was a good Bond even though the movies were bad, same with Brosnan. Craig was just wrong on all levels.

deleted 6 points ago +6 / -0
MisterGuapo 4 points ago +4 / -0

It's cool that Dalton was offered the role the first time Connery stepped down, but he felt he was too young to handle it.

DonJr2024 2 points ago +2 / -0

In full disclosure I am not a Bond fan (of any Bond movies really). They're ok but the old ones are too dated and the new ones always seemed awfully predictable and without much humor.

And Craig to me is just a guy who has one face and one tone of speaking and it happens to be dry and serious so I guess that makes him a fit? Out of all the Bond movies he has done is there even one iconic, memorable, quoted line?

I rewatched Jerry Maguire recently and it's incredible how many memorable lines there are in that. And of course Cruise had famous lines in A Few Good Men and of course in Top Gun. Clint Eastwood has memorable lines throughout his movies. Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and Star Wars.

All those guys have/had charisma and made memorable moments that will still be quoted 50 years from now. What Bond moments are memorable in the last 30 years?

ForrestTrump 1 point ago +2 / -1

Daniel Craig is better by 1000x.

2003 They recasted Moneypenny to a black woman

2005 They recasted Felix to a black man

2015 they made Q gay

2021 they killed James Bond and recasted 007 as a black woman

Dates are guesses

TommyJarvis 18 points ago +18 / -0

They made M a woman decades ago, don’t forget. That was irritating as fuck. Judy Dench is like nails on a chalkboard.

Orwellthatendswell 13 points ago +13 / -0

The M as a woman wasn't due to wokeness. It was a reference to MI5 getting a female head in real life around the same time.

Madman2020 22 points ago +24 / -2

Which was due to wokeness.

Orwellthatendswell 11 points ago +11 / -0

I agree the MI5 appointment was. I just think the film was just trying to be topical.

ForrestTrump 3 points ago +3 / -0

Right, women never deserve their jobs at all it's just wokeness to think a woman is good at anything.

You know, I can't stand liberal retards but it seems like a shitload of people here these days are as bad as the liberals they claim to loathe.

TommyJarvis 10 points ago +12 / -2

Goldeneye was smack dab in the thick of the 90s PC wave. No question making M a woman was a nod to political correctness at the time. You may not have been aware of how much the left was pushing it in the early-mid 90s. It was bad.

Doxylamine 6 points ago +6 / -0

I remember rolling my eyes at that too. Unbelievable to see how "far" we have come where we will view stuff like Ghostbusters 2016 as tame soon enough, if this doesn't stop.

Easzq8 27 points ago +27 / -0

Couldn’t have happened to a woker movie. Next up agent 0069 Jamika Bonobo!

DemsHaveNoHomeHere 22 points ago +24 / -2

All i had to see was Bond riding on the back of a jogger's scooter to know how cucked the film would be.

FinishTheBorderWall 5 points ago +5 / -0

That pic of Bond riding bitch is just sad.

EvenG 3 points ago +6 / -3

That's literally a 4 second portion of the movie. He's forced to ride on her scooter because she secretly disabled his jeep immediately before that so he'd ride with her to get him alone to talk. It's insane how such an inconsequential moment of the movie is a make-or-break qualifier for people to see it.
The funny thing is the black woman who becomes 007 in Bond's absence is probably the worst-written character of the entire franchise. She's essentially a one-trick pony that gloats about being 007 instead of Bond every time she makes an appearance, which is maybe 10-12 minutes of the film. There are legitimate gripes about the movie but anyone who says its woke garbage obviously didn't see it. Spectre was far more "woke" than No Time to Die.

DemsHaveNoHomeHere 3 points ago +5 / -2

It's insane how such an inconsequential moment of the movie is a make-or-break qualifier for people to see it.

Bro I said it was all I needed how cucked the film was. Didnt even need to know anything more to know how cucked it was. It was most definitely a make or break disqualifier and you only strengthened my argument.

Triple_Jabrony 1 point ago +5 / -4

Found the faggot leftist gaslighting a woke film

EvenG 2 points ago +5 / -3

Dude, yeah its a shitty bond movie. But if you actually watched it and think it's woke, you're a fucking retard. Do you even know what gaslighting means?

Triple_Jabrony 0 points ago +4 / -4

James bond is being upstaged by a black woman. I understand you love that shit because youre a leftist cuck but dont try to gaslight me

EvenG 2 points ago +3 / -1

At least you were able to use "gaslighting" correctly the second time. You should've looked up the definition before making the first comment instead of afterwards. If you took a second to look at reviews on RT, you'd see a lot of the leftist sites are reviewing the movie quite poorly and say its misogynic trash stuck in a bygone era. But do what you gotta do to maintain your precious narrative, you're the real winner here.

dankai420 20 points ago +20 / -0

I usually like these new Bond movies, they talk about really complex schemes, Spectre could be seen as the Five Eyes, some of the systems of monitoring they use in the movies are used in real life by intelligence agencies, this was the first one I wouldn't finish, it was just too boring.

Liberty0rdeath 8 points ago +10 / -2

Spectre was actually really good. Just the conspiracy of it was intriguing.

TommyJarvis 7 points ago +11 / -4

I hated Spectre. The homosex villain for NO REASON irritated the fuck out of me.

Liberty0rdeath 1 point ago +2 / -1

Well that I can agree with.

ammonthenephite 0 points ago +1 / -1

Do people who are hetersexual 'for no reason' also 'irritate the fuck out of you'? Imagine being irritated by something meaningless.

TommyJarvis 0 points ago +1 / -1

No because normal is fine. Homosex is deviant and the only reason to include it was box checking.

So yeah, it irritates the fuck out of me to see deviance portrayed for no reason in movies.

ammonthenephite -1 points ago +1 / -2

Normal to someone who is homosexual is being homosexual. Do you really think the entire world should conform only to what is normal and natural for you? Do you think your life experience is the only possible reality for everyone else?

TommyJarvis 1 point ago +1 / -0

Bullshit. Homosexuality is not normal and never will be. Stop trying to normalize degeneracy!

“Live and let live” only works when both sides agree to it. The left and the homosex agenda have way overstepped that line, so NO.

ammonthenephite 0 points ago +1 / -1

Its been normal as long as humans have existed and in quite a few other species as well. The lie is that it ever wasn't normal. And its never been live or let live, the religious right has been oppressing the lgbt community for as long as its been able.

Each generation steps more into the light than the previous dared, and the pendulum of extremism slowly settles into the middle where it should be.

Fangerang 19 points ago +19 / -0

Watched it yesterday with my brother cuz he was interested, and yea it was not a James Bond movie. He was basically just crying over different women the whole time. Definitely the worst Daniel Craig bond movie, and possibly the worst one ever.

TommyJarvis 12 points ago +13 / -1

That’s every movie after that first Craig Bond movie. He’s just sad over that woman dying.

You’re fucking Bond bro, get over it. Make a snide remark and then go find another one!

How shitty would Goldfinger have been if he spend the rest of the movie crying about the woman they killed with paint?

Fangerang 10 points ago +10 / -0

Yep very true. Maybe that's why Casino Royale is really the only Craig Bond film I really liked. Skyfall was ok but nowhere near as good as Casino.

"The film has far exceeded our theatrical estimates in this timeframe, becoming the highest grossing Hollywood film in the international marketplace"

Since they were planning on bombing from the start, the woke crowd is shown to be willing to sink a franchise and blow a ton of money for an agenda. These are not film makers not business people. They are revolutionaries and they are dangerous.

residue69 2 points ago +3 / -1

deleted 11 points ago +11 / -0
MisterGuapo 1 point ago +2 / -1

No. The box office is the total box office, but the distributor only gets a percentage of it eg 50% to 80% on the starting weekend (depends on the popularity of the franchise, source material, actors, etc). This is one reason why things like popcorn and drinks costs so much - the theatre simply doesn't get all of the ticket price.

That percentage slides down each subsequent week. The longer a movie runs, the distribution/production company gets less money and the theatre gets more.

The other factor besides production costs are things like advertising budget, which is often equal to or greater than the actual production costs. In this movie's case, the other factor is that companies take out loans to make these movies and usually pay them back fairly quickly, but the virus caused the movie to be delayed for something like 16 months - so the interest was piling up on the loan. If it's a $500 million loan (Production is $250 million plus $250 advertising guesstimate), that's a pretty penny after 16 months.

The general rule of thumb is that the movie usually has to make about three times its production budget to break even.

Critical Drinker link for those wondering, like myself.

MasksAreChildAbuse 9 points ago +9 / -0

I was still planning on seeing it (well for free online lol) but after hearing Bond is unceremoniously killed by a missle, not even in a decent way where he goes down fighting, just a big ole missle rains down at hypersonic speeds and kills him i lost all interest to even watch it for free.

easyonthefiber 8 points ago +8 / -0

Well fuck. That is a terrible ending. Guess I won’t go see it.

MasksAreChildAbuse 4 points ago +4 / -0

I dont think its even the ending from what I heard lol

EvenG 3 points ago +3 / -0

MasksAreChildAbuse 1 point ago +1 / -0

EvenG 1 point ago +1 / -0

Lea seydoux, the bond girl. I couldnt remember her name in the movie.

They are doing the same thing to Bond that was done to Star Wars. All woked up and a death knell.

I’m not even going to pirate it.

The_Knight_of_sunset 6 points ago +6 / -0

hillaryforprison 6 points ago +6 / -0

They made a slightly overweight young black girl the new 007. Pathetic.

Stirwood 7 points ago +7 / -0

With removable hair, like a helmet. Yes I’m serious.

Eatinglue 2 points ago +2 / -0

The way the movie worded it, it didn’t seem like she’ll be the “Bond” going forward. It was more like “we have 007’s all the time, you retired who cares”.

All the male characters look like incompetent, over-the-hill asses with depressing ends to their character arcs (Bond, M, Felix, Blofield). The new female characters are all super-competent and infallible (2 new female super spies and bond girl Madelyn Swan). And Q is gay.

NotableBuffalo 17 points ago +18 / -1

And Q is gay

That explains his fascination with unusual devices

deleted 6 points ago +6 / -0
EvenG 0 points ago +2 / -2

What are you talking about? The black 007 chick is easily the worst written character in the entire franchise. Every scene with her is literally "lolz im, 007 now, aren't you jelly?" Plus when she and Bond storm the island she has him take point and looks wildly incompetent and lost the entire time.
Plus Ana de Armas was a ditzy newbie agent who miraculously hadn't been killed in her spy training before meeting Bond.
Who are these super-competent and infallible female characters you speak of?

Orwellthatendswell 2 points ago +2 / -0

I think De Armas us meant to be super competent, and pretending to be new is just a disarming ruse she uses.

GreekYogurtGod 12 points ago +12 / -0

This movie makes 007 a black female in future movies.

The plot also revolves around DNA targeted smallpox which made me quite uncomfortable.

chinita_atx 3 points ago +4 / -1

Interesting plot.

West (UK) developed chemical weapon to target specific DNA. Presumably everybody's DNA is on a database so they could target anybody they want to.

It's the reverse of one of the theories of what the covid vaccines are; that they are latent weapons in those that got it and once a chemical pair is released in the atmosphere, the vaccine will be weaponized/activated.

COLDWARPATRIOT55 3 points ago +3 / -0

I saw it when it opened. Just a bad Bond movie. Didn’t notice wokeness, but thought the overt threat of global annihilation via a genetic mutation virus was interesting.

COLDWARPATRIOT55 2 points ago +2 / -0

I won’t see any other Bond movies. The series is now dead, like leftist politics.

Malfunction 2 points ago +2 / -0

POTUS_DonnieJ 2 points ago +2 / -0

Self proclaimed James Bond fanboy here. I have seen every 007 to come out during my lifetime in theaters. I have seen all the others many times each. I own multiple PPK and PPK/Ss. But I refuse to see the new one.

Hell, I’ve seen the Daniel Craig ones the least of any of them, I’ve even watched the dumpster fire that is Die Another Day more than any of the Craig films.

I think I’m going to go turn on Goldfinger or You Only Live Twice after dinner.

Is he now gay or black?

MAG_n_KAG 1 point ago +1 / -0

I saw it. It was ok. Id probably rank it middle of the road among the Craig Bond movies.

It wasnt super woke. The whole thing about the black girl being the new 007 wasnt that big of a deal, because it became obvious pretty quick who was recognized as the true 007, and relegated her back to insignificant side character.

The biggest complaint I have about this movie is that Bond was turned into a big sobbing pussy. You could almost say this movie is a romance movie with action in it, instead of the other way around.

But my favorite part of the movie, and unfortunately its not a very long part, is the scene with Ana de Armas. She's ridiculously hot, and the scene was fun and had lots of action.

I give the movie a C+.

Eatinglue 1 point ago +1 / -0

I’ll agree with all of this except the first three sentences and that I give it an F-.

Orwellthatendswell -1 points ago +1 / -2

The new Bond isn't really that woke. The 'black, female Bond' actually comes across as whiny and insecure, Bond finds her irritating, and she ends up finally conceding Bond is better than her. It's actually an inversion of what you expect.

There's a female super-spy played by Ana De Armas, but her scene is fun, and then she's out the film.

Bond doesn't sleep around, but as the theme is fatherhood and him finally wanting commitment, that's fine. It's intentionally riffing on the Lazenby Bond film, so it's not a strictly modern take.

The main issue is it nukes the continuity by killing everyone important off - stupidly Bond included - with very little narrative justification. That's the issue.

It takes the ultimate in escapism and shows even he can't escape, which is a needlessly (and arguably purposely) demoralising message.

But it really isn't that woke. It's culturally nihilistic in a different way.

PatriotPartyRising 3 points ago +4 / -1

it's very woke unless you are 15 and have already been brainwashed to see this as normal

ForrestTrump 0 points ago +2 / -2

It isn't really "woke" at all.

Lotta people just overly sensitive, which is understandable.

Was a good movie

They didn't shove any agenda down anyone's throat, the black woman 007 was 1000x inferior to Bond so much so that she relinquished her 007 tag back to him.

A lot of the people in this thread just come off as the ignorant blockhead stereotype that leftist retards paint conservatives as.

Which is fucking cringe.

Orwellthatendswell 3 points ago +3 / -0

I imagine most people who are calling it woke haven't seen it.

Which is cringe, because the same people will shit on lefties for calling Kyle a murderer without having seen the trial.

Be better. If you have a very strong opinion on something you haven't even seen, understand that's a bad method of thinking.

PatriotPartyRising 2 points ago +3 / -1

them adding a black woman is woke enough

ForrestTrump 2 points ago +2 / -0

If you think simply having a black person in a movie is "woke" then you are way far gone or simply racist.

Which is ultimately fine but calling it woke is stupid...just say "I'm racist I don't like it" and I'd say "ok cool"

PatriotPartyRising 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't think you get what woke moves they make for these film, I haven't seen it and don't care to so I can't give you specifics.

ForrestTrump 1 point ago +1 / -0

There's nothing woke about putting a black person in a movie.

If you go out of your way to make Clark Kent black and gay, that's woke.

A completely new character that happens to be black? Not woke.

Calling everything that has black people in it is just racism. Which is fine, I respect people's rights to be racist but people should stop acting like it's "wokeness" and just own up to the racism.
