liberty4alll 24 points ago +29 / -5

Sincere question: why is it the root of so much evil?

Is it because it’ll force fathers to stay and support their families?

Because I think it is absent fathers that are the root of most of our problems.

GrayManNumber333 -18 points ago +4 / -22

No. Evil just is. Plenty of men have families and love them, but you’d consider godless. Good times make evil, as it’s easy to be evil when times are good, not so easy when times are hard.

Trumperific 15 points ago +16 / -1

youre making a point about subjective morality to someone who believes in objective morality. your position makes no sense to a religious person. if morality is subjective, then there is no definition for morality.

-9
GrayManNumber333 -9 points ago +5 / -14

Bible centered morality is maximally subjective and self refrencing. Your argument is correct, but reversed.

Bible morality has some objective morality in it, but as laws, codes and things like that. Most of the moral stuff about good is centered about worship of a deity.

Worship deity good. No worship deity, bad. Why someone kill baby, because no worship deity. “Why someone who no worship deity not kill baby?: DOWNVOTE!!!! REEE!!!”

14
Gurren_Laggan 14 points ago +17 / -3

Tell me you haven't read the Bible without telling me you haven't read the Bible.

GrayManNumber333 -10 points ago +3 / -13

Wrong again. I read regularly with my wife, NASB to be specific.

7
Southboundanddown 7 points ago +8 / -1

I haven’t seen someone get the source material so wrong since Sheila Jackson Lee held an AR-15.

2
Gurren_Laggan 2 points ago +2 / -0

Then you should know its not "deity worship" but Praising God. And the moral teachings are absolute not subjective.

0
JanniesAreTrash 0 points ago +1 / -1

Basically no one that is "godless" is good.

-2
GrayManNumber333 -2 points ago +1 / -3

Yea and if they follow a god that isn’t your own, they’re a different bad or still godless eh? That’s maximum subjective tribalism. Only those in your tribe can be good. You might as well call people with dicks women .

1
JanniesAreTrash 1 point ago +2 / -1

Only people who follow Jesus Christ are moral in my eyes yes. We should be more tribal.

0
GrayManNumber333 0 points ago +1 / -1

That’s called subjective morality. How Neitzcsche. At least you’re following your ubermensch instead of being a last man.

0
JanniesAreTrash 0 points ago +1 / -1

It absolutely is not subjective. There is 1 correct morality and exactly 1 good.

20
liberty4alll 20 points ago +21 / -1

Abortion is a symptom of a deeper problem. It’s not like banning abortion will make everything right in the world. Something deeper is going on that CAUSES people to WANT abortions. That same root cause leads to higher crime, violence moral decay, etc.

I personally think that root cause is absent/neglectful/abusive fathers. And lack of masculinity in general.

8
Kongol626 8 points ago +11 / -3

Feminist who caused the hook up culture. Because I know if I shagged a woman and realized she's toxic and abusive, I'm dipping or pushing for an abortion. Sounds bogus but think about it. Abortions are not mostly happening with your spouse. They are happening after random hookups with strangers or partners that are horrible for you, they are only good for sex not relationships.

Why are dads disappearing? Because like I said some women are toxic af and they will rather leave everything behind than deal with them. Yes there's also true deadbeats who just walk out on their kids life. But people don't account for the shit behaviors "modern women" are doing.

I am semi against abortion but you best believe I will do it if I knocked up someone I definitely dont mess with on a relationship level. Hypocrite? Sure.

Love what Dave Chappelle said, if a woman can make a decision to keep or discard a baby so should a man. If I don't want it and you want to keep it, I shouldn't pay for your decision. Men do not have reproductive Rights. Women actually do. If we both agree on the kid we are good. But if you want to keep it and I don't, I need to pay for it and be stuck with you for 18 years. If I want to keep the kid and you don't, you can get rid of my kid or send it to adoption without naming me as the dad. Men absolutely do not have reproductive Rights once he cums.

Therefore if we start a law that states if a man doesn't want the baby he doesn't need to pay for it. You best believe women will think twice letting bums cum in them. No financial aid nothing. Sure they might take the abortion route first but I think society will adapt and they will make better decisions. Why do I think it will work? Because humans adapt. When a chick poked holes in my condom to have my kids, I adapted and learned to bring my own condoms and never throw them out at their house. Look at seatbelts. Once it became law we slowly started using it. We first refused then adapted.

No more trapping a man so he can stay with her, no more taking his money. The government literally incentivize single motherhood. So when a single mother gets knocked up again she rushes to an abortion because she realized how horrible it was raising the other one alone.

The real root and solution is waiting until marriage. But unfortunately religion can't mix with government in the USA

5
Long_time_lurker 5 points ago +6 / -1

Fren, a whole lot of that could be avoided with the old maxim "don't stick your dick in crazy."

As for that last line, it was supposed to protect religion from politics, not to keep religious principles out of politics. If other people's principles are good enough, why not ours? That's just a leftist meme to make us hesitate to do good in the world.

-1
VolareVia -1 points ago +2 / -3

Abortion is a marginal problem in the sense that the only people that need it are exceptionally promiscuous. This doesn't mean abortion isn't a problem, just that it isn't a systemic problem, the same way a couple dozen unarmed black people dying at the hands of police doesn't mean there's something wrong with the way the other 61M police interactions are conducted. We require a targetted policy to ban abortion, which will solve the problem. It's that simple.

Abortion should be banned. I think portraying it as a symptom of a larger sociological problem misses the mark, as sociological problems simply cannot be solved with legistlation.

No. It’s just plain evil at work. It’s written into the laws of entropy.

1
liberty4alll 1 point ago +1 / -0

Interesting connection. As someone endlessly fascinated by entropy, care to share more? I’m listening.

1
GrayManNumber333 1 point ago +1 / -0

Entropy demands to me maximized. Nothing can go against this except by luck or short time scales. Life is a great engine of entropy, and the societies that are better at increasing entropy do better and last longer. All forces are guided by it and it is a force oft forgotten on its own. Osmotic pressure is an example of naked entropy as a force.

1
flashersenpai 1 point ago +1 / -0

how can the root cause be with men who literally have no reproductive rights other than to be celibate? victims of rape and fraud are still held legally responsible, even when minors.

1
liberty4alll 1 point ago +1 / -0

Didn’t say the root cause is with men. I said it’s with absent fathers. There’s a difference. For example, women often leave the husband because, after all, Big Daddy government will take care of them. That is not the man’s fault.

10
TommyJarvis 10 points ago +10 / -0

No question. Erosion of the nuclear family is the prime directive of communists.

Guess which nation was the first to legalize abortion? Russia, just after the October revolution.

5
Proud_NJ_Deplorable 5 points ago +7 / -2

The core problem is the lack of sexual self-restraint which leads to unwanted pregnancies. I know/knew a number of women who got pregnant out-of-wedlock but married.

It's one thing to oppose abortion, but another to regard bearing and raising children out-of-wedlock as a form of family equal to that of a family headed by a married couple. On top of that, most unmarried mothers are on some form of government assistance and often deliberately bear children in lieu of working for a living.

2
WinnerChickenDinner 2 points ago +2 / -0

Because without birth control, sex has consequences. (STDs not withstanding.) Lefties hate having to be responsible adults.

0
680-EVIL 0 points ago +1 / -1

No. This is what someone else posted here:

https://www.johnstonsarchive.net/policy/abortion/usa_abortion_by_race.html

Total estimated abortions by race/ethnicity for 1965-2018 (and compared to current population) are:

-white, non-Hispanic: 28,900,000 (14% of current population)

-black, non-Hispanic: 18,700,000 (42% of current population)

-other, non-Hispanic: 3,500,000 (15% of current population)

-total, all races/ethnicities: 60,500,000 (18% of current population)

The black population would explode and all other races would have a bigger live birth increase than Whites. If you ban abortion, Whites will become a minority even faster and the whole nation will look like downtown Philly. is that what you want?

-1

I have heard the Pope has told them if they overturn they will get no more altar boys to rape.

6
ArriveViolently 6 points ago +7 / -1

If the defiled really want to kill their babies, the only fair option is to make them give birth, and once the newborn is swaddled and prepped, they lay the child in the mothers arms and hand her forceps, which she has to use to pull apart the limbs and crush the skull in her lap as the child screams and bleeds out. She is also presented a bill for hospital services afterwards.

This is no different than doing it before birth. Put the burden on the mother, not a third party.

2
TwitterIsTrash 2 points ago +2 / -0

But in this case, the mother must be charged for deliberate murder and arrested.

5
Patriotparty1971 5 points ago +5 / -0

If it is overturned I suggest all the players wrap it up. 18 years of child support over a one night stand will become very expensive.

3
GladtobeHere61446 3 points ago +3 / -0

If you're on this site, you should always have very low expectations when it comes to Supreme Court decisions.

3
alien123 3 points ago +7 / -4

to be honest, if you have not done so, go read Roe vs Wade because it is actually a good court decision.

you could do:

conception birth heart beat brain activity viability

they chose viability and it was a fair choice

5
AtomicShnoz 5 points ago +6 / -1

so viability is protected under the 14th amendment?

it is actually a good court decision

Roe claimed, however, that the unborn don't qualify as constitutional persons. Why not? The Court's reasoning was remarkably flimsy. It argued that most other references to persons in the Constitution (such as a provision about persons eligible to serve in Congress) have no prenatal application—so "person" must not be meant to include the unborn.

Most provisions in the Constitution don't apply to born children, either, and clearly children were understood to be persons.

1
flashersenpai 1 point ago +1 / -0

PENUMBRAS!

0
VolareVia 0 points ago +1 / -1

Exactly. It was something like 'unborn people aren't governable, therefore they can't have rights'.

Anyone who knows anything about the constitution knows that rights are intrinsic, and that the constitution is a promise to protect them, by the constitutions own plain-text interpretation.

Even non-originalists only conjure alternative interpretations that don't conflict with plain-text readings, save for 2A. Roe v. Wade is in violation of the rights protected by the constituion. There's no way around it.

4
TwitterIsTrash 4 points ago +5 / -1

No, conception is the only fair choice. Life begins at conception. That’s a scientific fact. Abortion at any stage is ending a living being’s life.

1
BiteMeMarxist 1 point ago +1 / -0

Roe v. Wade is not even in my top 100 issues... Nearly all of those are trending badly... There will be zero reasons to celebrate until the bulk of those are on their way back and that won't happen under this Congress or President.

  1. Abortion was caused by the acceptance of contraception

  2. Contraception was caused by no-fault divorce

  3. No-fault divorce was caused by the breakdown of marriage.

Also, do you have a source for this, OP?

1
flashersenpai 1 point ago +1 / -0

the breakdown of marriage is desirable as long as it remains a monopoly of the state

I'm more Roe vs Wade be overturned in Red States, but for Blue States they should set up abortion clinics right outside the Diversity Office in schools and Blue Companies. If we can speed up natural selection we can breed out leftist genes in a couple of generations.

-6
Purplenurplebrigade -6 points ago +3 / -9

1
Just_one_man 1 point ago +2 / -1

What are you talking about? Are you ejaculating fertilized eggs?

1
Purplenurplebrigade 1 point ago +1 / -0

So it's a human life as soon as the egg is fertilized? Like, right that second? I disagree. What differentiates an autonomous sperm from a not-yet-functioning embryo?

1
Just_one_man 1 point ago +1 / -0

A different and unique dna created from the chromasomes/rna of the sperm (father) and egg (mother) at the moment of fertilization. That fertilized egg instantly starts cell reproduction which is life.

1
Purplenurplebrigade 1 point ago +1 / -0

Cancer cells reproduce. Should we mourn them too?

1
Just_one_man 1 point ago +1 / -0

Oh, what an intelligent argument. I'm in awe. I give you fact, you give snark. Cancer cells are not fertilized eggs. You can mourn what you like.

4
TwitterIsTrash 4 points ago +5 / -1

Because you cannot blame unborn children for the family they are born into. They don’t choose that, and deserve a chance at life like everyone else
