Hijacking for visibility. Santa inc comments section still up. Youtube controls the terms of engagement on their site, why didn't they delete the comment section for Santa inc when that's what they did for POTATUS' videos? Because it suits their narrative.

Reeks of a virtual false flag, setting up the scapegoats for physical ones- be ready.

Thank you come again!

newuser999 21 points ago +21 / -0

A quarter-pounder Delux is $7.12 now. SEVEN DOLLARS! You can get a real hamburger at sit down restaurants for that much.

9
KekistanPM 9 points ago +9 / -0

When I visited California I once got a "gourmet" burger for $16. I could have gotten a good burger for less, but I had that starry-eyed-tourist attitude and thought it was great anyways.

May not be long until $16 becomes normal for fast food burger combos.

2
The_Bloofy_Bullshark 2 points ago +2 / -0

Taco Bell prices are up over 60% by me. That dollar menu average price is not a dollar anymore. Most of it is $1.59-$1.75 now.

2
Throwmeaway1235 2 points ago +2 / -0

Fuck them. Only good things on their menu were the power burrito and the 7-layer burrito and they axed both. Doesn’t really matter much though since for the last couple years I only support local and small business. I visit a variety of real Mexican and Tex-mex restaurants whenever I’m traveling for work and can get authentic meals for less than TB charges.

Steak arrachara, chiliquilies, carne asada, mmm. It is even better that half of the shops have American flags out front and patriotic messages on the doors these days lol.

2

I was going to say $30 , however $51 it is.

49
RealTXPatriot 49 points ago +49 / -0

Coincidentally enough I brought this up to my resident leftist at the employer.

They say "well that was then, now that $15/hour isn't a living wage so...."

the goalposts ALWAYS move with these fools. This one proclaims that capitalism has failed and the purpose of capitalism is to make everything more expensive so everyone at the top can make gobs of money.

19
Meddlesom 19 points ago +19 / -0

Did you ask them WHY $15/hour isn't a living wage now?

15
ThunderSizzle 15 points ago +15 / -0

Well, that is the point of cronyism, which is what we basically live under for the past several decades

8
Yawnz13 8 points ago +8 / -0

Which makes no fucking sense since, if everything continually gets more expensive, fewer people will be buying stuff.

6
michelleobama22 6 points ago +7 / -1

they just struggle more to continue the buying

2
Throwmeaway1235 2 points ago +2 / -0

The worst part is that only people with money have the ability to do anything to offset the pain. For instance, I took a couple hundred $k mortgage at 2.75% fixed Interest and have it sitting in an account focused on consumer staples, utilities, food, healthcare and some dividend funds and I’m paying back the loan with money that is constantly worth less and less. In a year my mortgage has generated profit between inflation and returns. Then again, I have more than enough to pay that mortgage off so I’m okay with the risk profile.

Similarly I’m buying pretty much anything I’m going to need to restock anyway in 2-3 year batches, since prices aren’t coming down and income will not be keeping up.

4
Redpillgirlfrommars 4 points ago +4 / -0

I never hear them give a specific amount. They just stick with “living wage” so they can forever move the goalpost.

3

5
CAPTAIN_TENDY_PLATE2 5 points ago +5 / -0

You may jest, but I work in a technical field that requires a technical college education.

It's not very high paid, and it certainly hasn't kept up with inflation for the fact that it requires a college degree.

Most employees will average around 45-50k after they've spent a few years and earned some professional certifications, and proven that they're worthwhile, with some getting into the upper 90s and lower 100s if they're competent and have been here awhile.

However, starting salaries are still in the lower 30's.

My employer has hit a point where they can't keep new employees, and basically wonder why. We've got some old heads like myself who are making the top end salaries, and it's still worthwhile for me to stay, but the new guys on the block are completely and totally burned out within 4-6 months. They're overworked, underpaid, and jump ship sooner than they can even get their first certifications done.

Meanwhile, senior level leadership is trying to come up with "creative ways" to retain employees, and it revolves around retarded shit like letting them choose their days off, as if anyone WANTS to work the weekend and be off tuesday/wednesday instead.

This all started about three years ago, in all honesty. It wasn't even economic, really. As we were STARTING to see some pay increases under Trump.

It was the shift in political rhetoric that started to destroy things. It was the idea of diversity, inclusion, and equity that started to seep in and create and atmosphere where the shittiest employee was rated/paid the same as the most productive employee, because they were being "equitable" and valuing everyone so that they could be inclusive.

This killed moral and started burning people out like crazy.

Back when this started happening, I can specifically remember going out for drinks with a few of the more senior guys like myself, and we were ALL bitching and moaning about how it was going to kill the work flow, and we were literally warning some of our senior leadership, to their faces, that if they respected any of us old heads, they needed to listen to us and cut it out.

Fast forward to now, and it has only gotten worse, starting pay is still what it was 3 years ago, and instead of being a place that people retired from, we can't even compete with a fucking fast food join in terms of employee retention. Everyone around me who is able to retire is retiring the hot second they can. I'm just floating out because I've still got a few more years. Unsure what to do, but I'm definitely looking around for better options, because I feel like it's going to collapse at any second, and my whole career is going to be meaningless.

Literally I'll have wasted my entire career working in a niche industry, that once this place goes, will probably be entirely gone, and I'll be out on my ass.... All thanks to wokeness, intentional economic fuckery, and the fuckheads that caused all of it.

Too old to start over, but too young to call it quits.

/end rant

3
AOC_ISNT_HOT 3 points ago +5 / -2

Realistically it probably is $35 and I have zero clue why anyone would even remotely defend poverty level wages. You want people dependent on food stamps? Oh, you don’t?? Well, maybe their pay should be adjusted to reflect the actual cost of living. Inflation is real. Underpaying workers is real. You’re upset cause the burger flipper is going to be paid $35 an hour and that’s in direct competition with you? Do you think that you’re worth only $35? Grow the fuck up and tell your boss you want more. That billion dollar company you’re deepthroating couldn’t give a fuck about you and can easily pay you more if they wanted. EASILY.

It doesn’t matter what the line of work is - if we can’t pay people to survive in this society, how is this society going to run? Communism is dependent on Capitalist values spiraling out of control - they’re banking on the laborers and workers of the nation to become so assblasted by their employers that they revolt, so that then UBI and Communism can be allowed to exist.

You don’t want communism? You fix the disgruntled laborer’s attitude by paying them more. It is the FURTHEST thing from rocket science.

I do not understand the common theme on this site that people shouldn’t be paid more. Bitch, you should be paid more but you don’t have the knowledge to demand that. We’ve been pitted against each other by some big boi losers with more money than you and I will EVER have in our lives so they can continue to pay shit wages.

Inflation is tied to PAC budgets, if I can recall correctly. Minimum wage isn’t.

I don’t have a shitty job. I make good money. But to say that people below me should have to sell their body on onlyfans to make a living is immoral and unethical - especially for a site that’s prides themselves in being close to God.

All together, your comment is retarded and you’re probably a retard too.

3
Magaistan 3 points ago +3 / -0

Hmm I would say you promote true capitalism which drives costs down and then their wage is worth more, not fall into the commie trap and raise wages arbitrarily because we print too much money to pay our gov debt. Money printer go brrr and the resulting effect is not an excuse for paying people more, dumb commie

2
AVeryNakedMan 2 points ago +2 / -0

Government creates inflation ON PURPOSE. This is literally a goal of the Federal Reserve because they are dumb enough to believe that it is somehow "good" for the economy.

Instead of constantly fighting to get higher wages for workers, people should tell the government to STOP MAKING INFLATION HAPPEN ON PURPOSE.

2
Throwmeaway1235 2 points ago +3 / -1

Entry level jobs do not, and should not, pay a “living wage” — it totally defeats the purpose. When you’re young and inexperienced you receive lower pay, because your value and experience isn’t worth a higher one. A sensible person looks at it and figures out how to make themselves more valuable and puts in the work to make it happen. If you pay a line cook as much as a senior engineer, you’re not going to have any senior engineers.

1
Phillyberto 1 point ago +1 / -0

If you support the govt forcing employers to pay a certain amount, you're just a statist.

10
123breadman 10 points ago +10 / -0

Liberal ideas only work in a healthy economy.

Liberal ideas don't promote a healthy economy, they destroy it.

Conservative ideas benefit a struggling economy.

Conservative ideas in healthy economy only benefits those willing to make it work. In other words, sorry lazy ass, you got to get off your ass and work.

I’ve seen articles that $15 minimum wage isnt enough anymore

11
BarneyFranksNipples 11 points ago +12 / -1

Well, $15/hr or less isn’t really all that great to live on, sure. Especially with current inflation.

But that being said, if you have no marketable skills or worthwhile education and can’t find a job to make a living wage, then you’re a failure and you get what you deserve for making poor decisions and not prioritizing your future.

You don’t get to live on your own, buy a house and a car, and afford your groceries/going out to eat and drink when you can’t be bothered to be a valuable asset to a company and society at large. Just because your parents are middle or upper class, doesn’t mean you’re automatically going to be by association alone.

God, the “minimum wage gripe” is probably one of the most infuriating topics that made me so staunchly right-wing all those years ago.

5
WhiteTrashJesus 5 points ago +5 / -0

I agree. And a lot of these people have bigger spending habits than people who make 5x minimum wage. It is also a matter of our manufacturing being shipped overseas as well. Not many options for a low iq person with no family to support them. Instead of welfare/ raising minimum wages, etc they should just take all the people who are a net drain on society, put them in designated areas in big hostels, cabbage and beans and enough money to buy beer and make them work in direct support of maintaining the designated commie zone

8
Krat 8 points ago +8 / -0

For years all we saw in local media was the headline: "Why $15 min wage didn't destroy Seattle"... And yet, getting a cheap ass mystery meat teriyaki lunch now cost $20. And rent rocketed out of control, and taxes trapped people into wage slavery with hobos crawling out of every crack in the city. And yet somehow, they still can't connect the dots that their 15 dollar 'experiment' has failed miserably.

BTW they don't have to bring up the $15 because Amazon and all the woke companies are blasting "we pay $15/hour plus benes" all over the media.

3
MasksAreChildAbuse 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah pretty much ever corporate place pays $15 an hour now. Even before this inflation mess they were doing it, especially in urban areas. The commies got what they wanted, and they still weren’t happy. Just pretended like they didn’t get exactly what they asked for and continued crying like a fag.

But in addition to their continued crying we now have more small businesses run out of business being unable to match benefits and wages, and inflation.

2
DespiteNegativePress [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

That was the point of the post, but I don’t think it came across. I was basically trying to say how the market itself determined the $15+ wage without those morons screeching about how $15 is the “right number”. And we see this by many workplaces offering in excess of $20 for work that would have been done for $10 a couple years ago. Of course, there’s also the Bidenflation component and every shit-ass economic policy that created that monstrosity…

4
texas4ever 4 points ago +4 / -0

They can only ever understand forcing companies to raise wages. They completely ignore the other half of the equation, cost of living. That is where Trump did wonders, wages were rising but gas etc. was very reasonably priced.

3

15 is not a living wage you'd still need a 2nd job or steady Overtime if you plan on doing anything other than renting an apartment and driving an 04 civic.

2
NoFucksman 2 points ago +2 / -0

All of the people already making $15-20/hour will quit their jobs for easier ones. Or they will need to be paid more. All the way up the income brackets. Any wage gains by these dumbfuck policies will be more than eaten up by the ensuing inflation.

$15 is shit ($30,000 pre-tax for 2,000 hours worked.) All of the places paying $15 don't give their employees 40 hours though. 30 hours x 52 weeks x $15 = $23,400. Many retail employees work even less than 30 hours weekly. Oh and by the way I believe 30 or 32 hours IS in fact considered "full time." The American DREAM.......

You non union folks are just stupid

1
BlaineBug 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm not a laborer regardless, but I am showing the math and stating the facts that not many want to talk about. How much do you earn per hour? I'm not a retail worker either but I do happen to be engaged to someone who worked retail for almost a decade and knows all about the hours they normally give to non-managers. So if you do the math and then you figure out the average number of hours worked you end up with poverty level income. And then you add our modern day inflation to the mix, can't win!
