Does Oregon still have that law where you're not allowed to pump your own gas?

49
escariot 49 points ago +49 / -0

Sure does.

30
MaddieKaddison 30 points ago +30 / -0

WOW. I forgot they had that.

30
Big_Sam_Handwich 30 points ago +30 / -0

New Jersey too.

17
TwitterIsTrash 17 points ago +17 / -0

I’m okay with it here in NJ. The people here are too stupid to be trusted with gasoline.

22
Durdurdurkistan 22 points ago +22 / -0

Ummmm....have you been to Oregon?

In the 1970’s the entire nation shipped their homeless crazy people to the compound of Bhagwan Rajneesh. Then when the compound was dismantled all the crazy people went to Portland and Seattle.

Now you know why the PNW is slightly retarded and violent.

10
landsolo 10 points ago +10 / -0

As a 30+ year resident I can assure you that the Rajneesh were just a drop in the tard bucket. Hippies created a lack of personal responsibility, lack of hygiene, and dressing like you're a homeless person element. What was actually a pretty cool punk scene turned into a bunch of gigantic faggot hipsters that LARP like they're punk for too cool points, but are very far from punk and even further from cool. I could go on, but you can see its a complex blend of faggotry that took one of the coolest cities in America and turned it into one of the West Coasts leading up and coming liberal shitholes.

4
acasper 4 points ago +4 / -0

Hipsters are a symptom of the state bureaucracy. Their lifestyle doesn’t work without bumpers. Same deal in Texas and Montana.

acasper 2 points ago +2 / -0

Really? I was in NJ a while back, rented a car and pumped my own gas on the way back to the airport. Did I do it wrong? LOL

2
EricCharliemella 2 points ago +2 / -0

I went down to Jersey for work once in a rental car. When I got to Bergen County I stopped at the pump and opened the door and it was like I had a flamethrower. People freaked the fuck out.

1
Dunkin4COVAIDS 1 point ago +1 / -0

Crazy! Maybe I just got luck lol!

When it's pouring down rain 70%+ of the year, I don't really mind that.

yeah that was the justification i remember too

could mandate door openers at 7-11 too though, it's just an arbitrary rule

"Thank you. Come again."

4
InsideMan 4 points ago +4 / -0

Welcome to 7-11. I love you.

12
Slothboy 12 points ago +12 / -0

creates high gas prices and really fucking slow lines at the pump.

10
agremlinintheworks 10 points ago +10 / -0

I remember stopping in Oregon at like 5am to get gas about 10 years ago. Waited at the pump for nearly 20 minutes. Nobody was showing up. Eventually, I thought screw this, I'll just pump the shit myself then. Picked up the pump handle and this guy comes running out of the shop yelling bloody murder about you can't do that, you're not allowed. Told him I didn't care, and he could either get over here and pump it now or I was going to do it myself.

-4
TD_Covfefe_Crusader -4 points ago +2 / -6

It does slow things down at the pump at times, but I also remember self serve stations where people would park at a pump while doing their grocery shopping at the mini-mart.

8
Durdurdurkistan 8 points ago +8 / -0

Creates jobs and stifles economic progress.

My job basically consists of running to the store for supplies 2-3 times a day.

And then I have to wait for ONE guy to pump 12 cars worth of gas.

It got so bad I just get bulk fuel delivered and can skip the stations.

IntrepidBurger 7 points ago +7 / -0

Broken Window Fallacy

6
War_Hamster 6 points ago +6 / -0

One of my first jobs was pumping gas in Oregon. That was a crappy job.

2
daty_dato 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm old enough to remember the one gas station that did it in my hometown... Circa mid 70's...

"It would also add most animal breeding practices to the crime of "sexual assault of an animal.""

Can't wait for them to implement this and then turn around and legalize beastiality...because they're complete degenerates.

14

Watch them make the animals mating naturally illegal too because almost all sex in nature is rape by human standards. Suddenly all animals of Oregon go extinct.

7
Spawnlingman 7 points ago +7 / -0

They will say there is no way that a female dog is consenting when the boy doggy ran right over and mounted up. They will have 100's of pages of therapeutic books written explaining the trauma the female dog goes through based on it's posture, stance, the look in it's eyes.

RAAAAPE

Out law hunting.

More deer = more car accidents

New law criminalized hitting a deer oopsie!

Got to fill the freezer somehow.

9
War_Hamster 9 points ago +9 / -0

Guns don't kill deer, SUV's do.

7
pushbackv2 7 points ago +7 / -0

SUV is going to be a curse word in 10 years, thanks to globohomo.

But hey, plenty of electric cars. Let's see how those fare in a head-on encounter with a deer.

8
War_Hamster 8 points ago +8 / -0

My SUV is black, so it gets a pass.

3
CanadianFren 3 points ago +3 / -0

You're missing the point. They are trying to outlaw hunting/fishing/farming so you can't produce your own food and need to rely on the system to survive. And if you don't get your endless jabs you're not allowed to work or buy food.

2
HiImDuganz 2 points ago +2 / -0

I know what the point of it is lol but thanks

2
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 2 points ago +2 / -0

You can legally harvest road kill now in Oregon, no license required.

24
TrumpTrain45 24 points ago +25 / -1

Left out the most important part. Rank choice voting. That means you will be like California in that you may only get 2 Democrat options for governor when voting.

6
RocksCanOnlyWait 6 points ago +6 / -0

Ranked choice is different from the "jungle primary" system of California. I'm not familiar with the OR proposal, but it seems they would still restrict voting in primaries based on party choice.

Ranked choice voting is still as fallable as "first past the post" voting, so there's not really any point to it.

6
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 6 points ago +7 / -1

Different system, same results.

22
Monsieur_Novembre 22 points ago +24 / -2

Ranked choice voting is the big red flag here as it is just another term for voter fraud

5
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 5 points ago +5 / -0

Exactly. It enables them to have only Democrats on the ballot. We already have rampant election fraud here with our decades of vote by mail.

8
War_Hamster 8 points ago +8 / -0

The people I know in Oregon were some of the most diehard fishermen I've ever met. Bass especially. I'm betting they are able to fight this one off.

5
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 5 points ago +5 / -0

We'll probably be able to fight it off, especially considering the revenue that the state takes in on fishing and hunting.

9
War_Hamster 9 points ago +9 / -0

Hope you're right. Greater Idaho is sounding better and better.

If you guys ever pull that off, we're going to start working on joining San Diego with Arizona.

2
ArchbishopofKekistan 2 points ago +2 / -0

Who needs revenue when middle class families in the heartland restore their deficit every year?

13
DrinkTeaNotKoolaid 13 points ago +13 / -0

Glad to have moved from that crazy soon to be shithole state

1
Ez_mac 1 point ago +1 / -0

Is the state crazy or is it just Portland?

6
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 6 points ago +6 / -0

Portland and Eugene, primarily. Most of the state is based.

2
NimblePepeCentipede 2 points ago +2 / -0

Facts^

10
Slothboy 10 points ago +10 / -0

So, anyone in the state can sponsor an initiative. This one just says the petition has been approved for circulation.

That means some weird ass vegan hippies got 1,000 signatures (which you could do in five minutes in portland) to get an initiative referred. They did the paperwork correctly and now have the opportunity to collect enough signatures from other weird ass vegan hippies to get the initiative on the ballot. It would take approximately 25,000 verified signatures to get this on the ballot.

Then people actually have to vote for it and guess what? They won't. This is just a wet dream from some activists trying to get some free press for their cause.

13
escariot 13 points ago +13 / -0

Oregon is the home of mail-in voting. I wouldn't count anything out completely once it finds it's way on to the ballot with the way things are going.

4
Slothboy 4 points ago +4 / -0

yeah, this one is a bit extreme even for our oregon lefties. I'm more concerned about the ranked choice voting.

6
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 6 points ago +7 / -1

The way ballot petitions work here in Oregon is that if the initiative aligns with the Democrat agenda they will fast track approve it even with fake signatures and other irregularities and it will be put on the ballot. If the initiative conflicts with the Democrat agenda then they will sandbag the approval and scrutinize every petition sheet single sheet, tossing out entire sheets if any issue is found on that sheet, making it almost impossible to get on the ballot.

The reason the hunting and fishing one will fail is because the state makes too much revenue on those activities to allow it to pass, even in the unlikely event it does get enough signatures.

1
2016TrumpMAGA 1 point ago +1 / -0

iirc, you don't even need 1000 sigs to get the petition approved for circulation, you can just pay to file. To actually get on the ballot they'll need well over 100,000 verified signatures.

7
NakaTrash 7 points ago +7 / -0

It would also add most animal breeding practices to the crime of "sexual assault of an animal."

Yeah--only us liberals should get to sexually assault the animals!

6
TwitterIsTrash 6 points ago +6 / -0

As a vegetarian, this disgusts me. What about people who need to hunt food to feed themselves or work as farmers or butchers for a living? They can starve and die then?? This is such an obvious overreach to stop people from being able to take care of themselves without the government.

Animal breeding is sexual assault.

Modifying a child's sex hormones or genitals is not sexual assault.

3
vatrump2020 3 points ago +3 / -0

Take all the meat out of the grocery stores in OR and see how long this last. Also ban fast food that serves meat. Let them live with the laws they pass.

3
Shayhawk 3 points ago +3 / -0

Good, as soon as they pass this, lets stop shipping them ALL meat.

1
NimblePepeCentipede 1 point ago +1 / -0

I hear ya fren but the lunatics that came up with this idiocracy Dont Eat Meat. lol

You'd only be cutting off your fellow pedes from having meat but I get it.

3
PartandParcel 3 points ago +3 / -0

Oregon makes too much $$ on all their stupid hunting and fishing licenses to pass this. Granted, libtards are stupid enough to pass anything but I don’t see this one going anywhere.

2
asiandood 2 points ago +2 / -0

Fishing/hunting one will fail. Even if it did pass, all that state revenue will go to the other side of the Columbia to Washington or to Cali and ODFW will cease to exist.

1
CrossTheRubiconTrump [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

With ODFW gone the salmon population might actually have a chance.

1
asiandood 1 point ago +1 / -0

With ODFW gone, population of salmon, steelhead, elk, deer etc.... will get decimated by poaching and invasive species.

For an example, last year ODFW issued out a culling order for invasive smallmouth bass and striped bass in the river of Coquille Basin to save the salmon population.

This is funny, my LA friend just told me about a couple who moved to Oregon and bought a bunch of acres so they could hunt their own meat. They are former vegans who want to eat meat in a "kinder" way than factory farming. And in case you're wondering- the answer is yes, both the couple and the LA friend are Biden voters.

every time I have ever visited a farm, I saw animals having sex all day long.

farm animals are very horny
