Does Michigan have firearm storage laws? If not it is completely irrelevant how they stored their guns. I have children younger than this Ethan kid and they are all trained how to handle a firearm and understand the potential danger if you mishandle them and they don’t have a desire to play with a gun if they find one because they already have access anytime they want, all’s they have to do is ask.

The article said there is no requirement in Michigan to keep firearms locked up. The parents didn't break any laws, from what little we know. At the very least they will use this to create some unconstitutional new laws though.

I’m not speaking in terms of the law, I’m speaking in terms of responsibility. I’m a gun owner myself and my brother has been training his 4 year old proper handling and markasmanship with a .22. So what you are doing is fine. That’s actually what I hope for. Teaching from an early age.
