Or for China to invade Taiwan

106
AnotherDeadVoter 106 points ago +106 / -0

I'm thinking the reverse, Russia will act first and China will use it to hit Taiwan.

67
destroyer713 67 points ago +70 / -3

China should remember that the Three Gorges Dam is within missile range of Taiwan.

65
Endprism 65 points ago +65 / -0

The CCP wouldn’t give a damn if their great dam was hit. Citizens would die but they don’t care about them.

42
Yawnz13 42 points ago +44 / -2

They'd care, in the sense that they'd likely use a false flag attack on the dam as pretext to invade Taiwan.

40
Destineed369 40 points ago +40 / -0

Losing that dam would destroy their energy grid. It could cripple them.

20
SnowflakeJuice 20 points ago +21 / -1

I think that is a price they would be willing to pay to get their hands on TSMC.

6
Snooptwo 6 points ago +6 / -0

I mean they cut off power to a bunch of villages for the olympics. They don’t care if it ends w it h an overall benefit to the party elite. That last sentence applies to both China and the US btw.

1
Yawnz13 1 point ago +2 / -1

Depends on who you ask. According to China, Three Gorges produces between 75 TWh and 105 TWh per year. That's out of roughly 7600 TWh total that they produce per year.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Gorges_Dam

https://chinaenergyportal.org/en/2020-electricity-other-energy-statistics-preliminary/

There's also the population reduction to consider. The loss of life caused by a full-on collapse of the damn and flooding of the area would reduce demand for electrical power, while simultaneously creating a "just cause" scenario for the invasion of Taiwan. This would also give Biden (or subsequent Chinese-compromised administrations) to turn a blind eye to the conflict, citing the false flag as well.

I don't think Taiwan would strike Three Gorges unless an invasion was imminent/already underway. They'd likely be more interested in neutralizing China's military, which would require them to focus more on the Chinese coastlines.

1
Yawnz13 1 point ago +2 / -1

And given that the CCP desires international standing, they're far less likely to simply invade Taiwan outright. Remember what was going on in China just before COVID that was giving them a lot of bad press?

2
deleted 2 points ago +3 / -1
1
Yawnz13 1 point ago +2 / -1

China isn't going to do that without some kind of pretext to give them an air of legitimacy. A false flag would also give Biden (or any other China-compromised administration) an excuse to turn a blind eye to it.

1
Yawnz13 1 point ago +2 / -1

I dunno, I don't think the Chinese will move on Taiwan without at least SOME kind of event occuring first that would nominally establish legitimacy. Even though they'd lose a lot of electrical power generation, they'd also lose decent chunk of their population, which means less mouths to feed.

3
Bogey 3 points ago +3 / -0

I don't think even the Taiwanese have the political will to strike the dam. I wish they would. It would cripple China's warfighting ability as they would have a million homeless overnight and dozens of entire cities unflooded with no power or flooded and filled with dead.

4
Snooptwo 4 points ago +4 / -0

“Filled with dead” might be a bigger reason than “political will.” Either the dam is hit first snd China invades (obvious false flag) or China invaded and fhe damn is attacked second. That being said, it’s unlikely China doesn’t have an iron dome like defense of the dam.

All planned. Biden gets to bolster his ties with his business pals in Ukraine while being too distracted to deal with Taiwan - his Chinese business pals get to annex Taiwan without a fight.

1
Snooptwo 1 point ago +1 / -0

What about Russia? Putin was pretty open about preferring Biden.

6
SnowflakeJuice 6 points ago +7 / -1

I agree, because the invasion of Taiwan will have a greater impact on the world and is more likely to illicit a response. Makes more sense for China to do it while the West is hamstrung trying to come up with a response to an invasion of Ukraine.

The real concern with these invasions, is how it effects the other powers interests. Taiwan is extremely important because of their semiconductor industry and proximity to Japan.

11
Non_compliant 11 points ago +11 / -0

fuck Ukraine only reason it matters is because our crooked ass politicians got secrets stashed there.

Taiwan is clutch if we lose that we are pretty much finished as far as power goes.

What the fuck are we gonna do about this bioweapon that has been fucking up America for 2 years to the point of near total destruction?

Fuck China

6
Dane4Trump 6 points ago +6 / -0

Ukraine matters as well if you care about nuclear disarmament.

They gave up their nuclear arsenal after the great powers guaranteed their sovereignty. That didn't last 30 years and is something all countries should take note of and learn from.

5
Snooptwo 5 points ago +5 / -0

Libya is another example. Gadaffi (fuck spelling) even said as much. They wanted him to disarm and he pointed at Iraq and what the uniparty did there snd said “why the fuck would we give up our WMDs? Saddam either got rid of them or never had em and the country was still leveled.” Hard to blame him. Little did he know Obama was gonna kill him anyways b

5
SnowflakeJuice 5 points ago +5 / -0

I do know if I would take it that far. A Russia invasion of Ukraine has real implications for former Soviet Countries. Like Poland, Hungary etc. But it is more of a European problem than something that directly impacts the U.S., like the threat from China does.

4
2AMONKEY 4 points ago +4 / -0

Or maybe Ukraine and Taiwan are distractions from the something else. Whatever happened to Russian and Chinese ships off the coast of Venezuela? Doesn't china already control the Panama canal? Largest oil reserve on earth in Venezuela?

Sounds like a perfect opportunity for America to take over being the global center of semiconductors.

No American blood for Taiwan or Ukraine. Let Lt. Col Porkchop (Vindman) go and fight for his home country. Might slow the Russians down by 5 or 10 minutes.

2

2
libman 2 points ago +2 / -0

Taiwan is the center of semi-conductor fab in the world.

I'm in IT. I know that.

The objective indicator I use is the Economic Freedom Index. Taiwan is #6 freest in the world; Ukraine is #127 (below Russia, China, India, etc).

The point is that Taiwan is worth fighting for a lot more than Ukraine.

Your comment exposes you as a brain dead idiot.

Ukrainian jokes are recycled Polish jokes, now that Poland is based.

It's not my fault people like you can't read.

He's saying taiwan is 1500 times smarter than ukraine.

4
Snooptwo 4 points ago +7 / -3

No, he said that all the people in Taiwan, 23 million people, have the combined IQ of 1500 Ukrainians. Maybe he meant something different, but didn’t have the IQ to effectively communicate it, which is ironic given the content of the comment.

2
libman 2 points ago +2 / -0

You are functionally illiterate.

Didn't you have math problems in grade school?!

I said "The combined IQ of people in Taiwan is about 1,500 Ukraines."

"Ukraines" (plural of the whole nation of Ukraine), not individual "Ukrainians", obviously.

According to this source, Taiwan is the #2 smartest nation in the world with the average general intelligence score of 106.47; while Ukraine is 90.07 (way lower than its neighbors).

If you take what I said literally, "the combined IQ of people in Taiwan" would be 2,496,917,085 (23,451,837 people times 106.47). Dividing that by "1,500 Ukraines" (population 41,319,838 (excluding Crimea)) means I've claimed the IQ of the average Ukrainian is about 0.04.

But I was obviously making a joke, like how your mother is so fat that she has her own zip code - not meant to be mathematically literal.

This is 5th grade math!

1
libman 1 point ago +1 / -0

I said "The combined IQ of people in Taiwan is about 1,500 Ukraines."

My claim translates to the following equation:

Taiwan_Average_IQ * Taiwan_Population == 1500 * Ukraine_Average_IQ * Ukraine_Population

You fail basic math.

Ukraine is 97.

2
OhMyCron 2 points ago +2 / -0

Average IQ depends on people being tested for it. No doubt in my mind there’s games afoot in China on the numbers like their fake ass GDP.

1
RexCollumSilvarum 1 point ago +1 / -0

Mainland China claiming 105? A lie, like so much that comes from their media.

2
libman 2 points ago +2 / -0

Mainland China test results come from elite places in elite cities, where the smartest people have recently moved. Taiwan and South Korea also benefit from this selection effect (smartest people fled the communists). This means the smartest whole-nation / ethnic group in the world by far is the Japanese.

Ghostof_PatrickHenry 89 points ago +93 / -4

We get 95% of our tech chips from Taiwan. If Russia hits Ukraine, China will take Taiwan, and the US economy will literally collapse. (Trump tried to move our chip production to Arizona but the Republican Congress blocked him.)

This is our problem, unfortunately. We are better off rising up against the American cartel than going to war with the world, again.

Right, except Joe Biden will make a big deal out of it, and the media will paint Russia as the great modern threat, while China quietly occupies Taiwan.

More reasons to not rely on Taiwan. It’s stupid security risk because corporate whores chasing cheap labor.

22
Ghostof_PatrickHenry 22 points ago +22 / -0

Yeah, except you can’t just move the production over here. There are regulations in place that are designed to keep it overseas. Trump tried to end it, and the RINO’s blocked him. And unfortunately, once the economy collapses, it will be impossible to simply throw up a high-tech economy in the Arizona desert after the fact. (There will be no market for the products, not to mention no high tech chips available for the countless computers and machines needed to launch said economy.)

Taiwan is about 10 years ahead of any other country in the region in terms of being able to fabricate at the level of demand. China wants them dead or alive because either method will benefit them when the world around them collapses. They'd prefer alive, but they're okay with dead.

8
CahootinWithPutin 8 points ago +10 / -2

Think of our weapons systems. Our communications systems. Our country’s infrastructure. Most all of it relies on these chips. To lose access to these advanced chipsets would throw us back 10-20 years.

Yes, we can rebuild and bring production home, but it’s going to take precious time and resources. Not to mention how much they are going to cost to be made here.

5
brokentoenail 5 points ago +6 / -1

Eh. Cost, time and resource are not the only factors. You're leaving out effort. Throw a million people at the problem and that shit'll happen a hell of a lot faster than 10-20 years. Which would be the only appropriate response to that problem.

4
JMaN 4 points ago +4 / -0

Think of the Vietnam war. You don't think Americans will do that?

1
SnowflakeJuice 1 point ago +1 / -0

Cost is not so much of an issue. TSMC pays top dollar for engineers, even by U.S. standards.

The issue is that every time a new chip is made, smaller faster etc. New equipment is required to manufacture it. So it is extremely difficult to manufacture new chips profitably.

TSMC has seemed to figure out how to get it done, whereas other companies have not.

And another one was just announced for Taylor, TX which is a small town east of Austin.

https://www.theverge.com/2021/11/23/22245325/samsung-building-chipmaking-fab-texas-taylor

I don’t think you understand how imminent this threat is. That plant will never be built, if we lose access to the Taiwan chip industry. (If China takes it.)

1
mintyfresh 1 point ago +2 / -1

I don't think you understand semiconductor manufacturing, not to mention that your central point was wrong. I'm not talking about Taylor TX. I'm talking about AZ. TSMC alone plans to build 6 foundries in AZ over the next decade.

It seems you haven't yet noticed the Taiwanese aren't people like you who give up after being driven into exile, should that happen AGAIN.

1
Ghostof_PatrickHenry 1 point ago +1 / -0

over the next decade

I don't think you understand how short we are on time. We don't have that long. Whatever is going to happen with Taiwan will transpire over the next 12-24 months. If the US stops receiving chips from Taiwan, none of those plants you mention will end up being built, because those companies will not be able to produce the computers and manufacturing equipment.

aren't people like you who give up

There is no reason to get upset. I am not your enemy. I am speaking hard truth. You are living in a delusion that everything is fine and there is no urgency to resolve these problems.

And the Taiwanese weren't 'driven into exile,' if that is what you meant. The island was taken by Japan in 1895 as a prize of the Sino-Japanese War. After WWII, the allies took it back from Japan, and gave it to the Republic of China, right before the CCP rose up and took control of the country in 1949. Taiwan does not recognize the CCP as the legitimate Chinese government, nor did the international community for many decades. (The CCP was not the government that negotiated and signed the post-WW2 treaty. In fact, they slaughtered that government, which was friendly to the West and Taiwan.)

4
RStroud 4 points ago +4 / -0

China knows that the best case scenario, they'll get nothing but bombed out factories and ports and an island full of mad Taiwanese. The US will "Operation Paperclip" all the good engineers. Taiwan is fucked regardless of the outcome of hostilities.

Their only viable option is to achieve deterrence by being capable of attacking the mainland. The US probably won't do this, as that risks a Sino-American war, but will gladly fight to the last Taiwanese on the island, then spend decades blockading and launching cruise missiles on ports while the people starve.

Taiwan knows this. They can surrender and survive intact, or be a proxy war hellhole. China wins either way, they either take Taiwan intact or eliminate a regional competitor for decades. Best of all they show the US is the lesser power in the region, which will begin to align under China. The US gets to spend millions of dollars on defense contractors, and probably becomes the premier high-end semiconductor manufacturer. They might even fight on the mainland, if it is profitable enough.

5
Ghostof_PatrickHenry 5 points ago +5 / -0

What makes you think Joe Biden is going to do any of that? You’re speaking as if Donald Trump is still in the White House.

4
RStroud 4 points ago +4 / -0

The US will ensure that Taiwan, as we know it, is destroyed. Beyond that, who knows. There's a lot of profit in maintaining a warzone overseas. I think Kamala (or any female) would absolutely go balls to the wall, to show their man enough to send young men (and women and trannies) to death.

1
Ghostof_PatrickHenry 1 point ago +1 / -0

There are too many ties to China at the top of the US government. If there is to be a ground war, it will be in Eastern Europe, against the Russians. (Which is what Hillary Clinton has been calling for for years.) Any kinetic conflict with China will likely be quickly resolved with a disgraceful US surrender. (Unless Admiral Flynn has the autonomy to wage war against the Chinese. I just don’t see how he could be permitted to do so, if Biden doesn’t want it.)

Though I do think India will end up in a war with China and Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.

1

They can yak all they want, but Putin has to give the order. As of yet, he hasn't. He's not a fool. He's former KGB. He's not about to give any such order unless he can position himself as a victim and seize the moral high ground. Remember 2014 and Crimea? He said it was a humanitarian effort, then it was reunification of the Russian people into the Russian nation. He was there to protect the people during a period of instability - and he denied the soldiers were his men the whole time.

The EU has literally nothing that's a threat to Russia's military and everyone out there knows it. It's a bloated shell that's been hollowed out and bled dry by the banking elite. It has no effective military that could stand up to Russia. Putin is held back by two things: 1) the threat of US involvement via NATO (which, despite our idiocracy, still means something because the actual fighting men are world-class professional soldiers), and 2) Putin's preference not to be seen as the aggressor because he wants to protect Russia's legacy and reputation.

Most of this thread is just wild, fact-absent speculation ginned up by an article that was itself wild, fact-absent speculation.

They've swapped governments completely at least 2 debatably 3 times. They've been a satellite state under Russia before, and at this point the people may just agree just so it will all end finally.

With the US low on cash Biden makes his first good residential “decision” (in reality his highly-repressed good-natured subconscious took over, while on his daily mid-afternoon sleep walk), and sells Ukraine 10 nuclear ICBMs, but accidentally launches one of them in the process, and takes out Beijing.

The Chinese believe that the Ukrainians shot it, and begin to blame Putin and Biden for the mishandling of the simple military appropriation. The Chinese leadership demands that Putin allow them to level Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong, and Taiwan perform a military coup by hacking into the Chinese military defense systems, find all that’s left of the CCP leadership, and few hundreds of the top officials, by putting them under “arrest”.

Biden no longer has anyone to tell him what to do so he decides to goes to sleep, while General Milley et al., attempt to take over the US, while simultaneously multiple US coups happen in multiple branches of government and reinstate the rightful President, Trump

This is all going to happen in 2 weeks. Trust this new, and improved, and somehow much more likely plan.

Sincerely,

P

20

They are going to do everything about it since they are literally paid by the Ukrainian Government. 10% for the big guy

15
2008RonPaul2012 15 points ago +15 / -0

It's kinda the other way around. The Ukrainian government only exists because the CIA and the globalists ran a color revolution over there. They funded a ukrainian version of antifa and blm (theirs happened to be actual nazis) in order to create social unrest and upheaval. Then they had a little civil war, overthrew the russian-allied former government, and installed a new american friendly one. That's the one the biden was able to get 10% for the big guy from. So it's not so much that Biden is working for Ukraine. it's more that Ukraine's got a globalist puppet, and so does the US, and they work out their own corruption schemes on the side.

In any case, there's no fucking way the trannies at the pentagon will allow Russia to take Ukraine back. They would rather launch some nukes (faster than a depopulation vax, anyway)

5
radiokbws 5 points ago +5 / -0

That's a loose end for the big guy. An invasion that destroys evidence of graft and corruption would be mighty convenient. Like a double tap to the back of the head suicide, or simultaneous plane terrorist attacks.

No, just more anti-Russian hysteria as usual from the Dems. Ukraine is a crooked basket-case beholden to the Bidens, it's not worth protecting even if there was an invasion coming (there isn't). This military 'build-up' crap happens all the time.

17
FormerGraveheart 17 points ago +17 / -0

What's interesting about this is that the military buildup back in the spring, followed by a quick dispersal, has created legitimate doubt about what's going to happen with this one. It could easily be the same thing, or it could be a quick invasion of Ukraine, and recall that the current Ukrainian government was installed in a color revolution and supports the globalists. Smart move by the Russians.

7
AnotherDeadVoter 7 points ago +7 / -0

That's strategy. It measures enemy and global response, as well as normalizes troop movements.

At least with Trump he would call and directly threaten their leader, balls of fucking steel. Like with the Taliban he named their leaders hometown and said he would destroy it, they got their shit together real quick.

1
Slick333333 1 point ago +1 / -0

They do their exercises the same way that NATO does. Only difference is our mocking bird media

1
snowcatzor 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's possible, but most likely it's just another one of the Russian military's many snap exercises. Last time they did one near Ukraine was in response to Ukraine building up it's own forces near the Donbass.

And for anyone who thinks the Crimea/Donbass issues are like anything like Taiwan. Consider what the people of those territories actually want. Few in Taiwan want the CCP to rule them, but most in Crimea & the Donbass want to be part of Russia. They aren't comparable.

Ukrainians are not muslim fanatics hiding in caves and I'm sure quite a few of them support Russia.

Russia can probably invade them quite easily. And then Europe will once again fail to do anything about it and instead they will refuse to help any kind of resistance in order to avoid instability at the border.

European countries stopped being major military players after WW2 and the decolonization. They'll do nothing as usual.

And Biden's administration will be as useless as usual.

4
FormerGraveheart 4 points ago +4 / -0

I hope they don't invade Ukraine for purely personal reasons, but if they do, they will win and quickly.

-3
QLARP -3 points ago +1 / -4

There is no such thing as a quick invasion of Ukraine.

It wi be a multi decade quagmire with guerilla warfare.

3
snowcatzor 3 points ago +3 / -0

Not all invasions create an occupation vs insurgency situation dude. The US occupying Germany and Japan didn't because their people didn't want to fight. In their case, because they had too much of war already.

But there are many reasons why some nations don't fight occupations. Demographics being the most important one - one that is very much in play in Ukraine. The majority of South-Eastern Ukraine is ethnically Russian and was an official part of Russia not all that long ago. That's why Crimea was so easy for Russia to capture, because most of the people preferred Russia (literally thousands of Ukrainian servicemen quickly defected to Russia btw).

Russia wouldn't be foolish enough to try and take any regions that weren't ethnically Russian as it knows the folly of trying to pacify hostile demographic groups.

1
deleted 1 point ago +1 / -0

Prudentwait 0 points ago +1 / -1

It would most likely be a quick invasion followed by resistance and guerilla warfare.

Saddam's government in Iraq fell in just over a month. The decade+ long quagmire happened after that with different groups involved.

I'm not sure why you replied multiple times to the same comment. What's been happening since 2014 isn't going to be the same situation as pushing 175k troops into a country with a forceful invasion. If you want something to compare it to, think of 1940 France.

We took Fallujah in under a week... We took multiple countries / every country we wanted to take over there. Yes, we suffered casualties from guerrilla tactics but those were nothing compared to full-scale war.

If we weren't so merciful, the only people living over there would be a few terrorists in mountain caves. You're acting like we couldn't turn the whole place into glass if we wanted.

I couldn't give two shits about Ukraine, but China's owed a glassing for releasing that bioweapon, flooding our communities with fentanyl and deindustrializing our country.

10
phzoe 10 points ago +11 / -1

Yes, I'm for defending Taiwan. China has no legitimate claim to that territory, aside from quasi-ruling it as a colony from 1683 to 1895, barely a pinch in their 2500 year history.

Taiwan makes our motherboards and they are worth defending. Japan will defend them as well.

4
radiokbws 4 points ago +4 / -0

Taiwan can only be defended by preventing an invasion. Once the Chicoms decide to invade it would take them 3 days to conquer it in some scenarios. Then it's a question of reclaiming/liberating Taiwan. Good luck accomplishing that without 1) destroying the chip factories, 2) triggering nuclear escalation.

-1

That's not how the real world works. You can't just invade Taiwan in 3 days and take it over.

It would drag China into a multi decade quagmire wasting blood and money.

Wrecking their economy and having Chinese troops killed by guerilla units hiding in the mountains.

Think red Dawn wolverines but more asiany

QLARP -1 points ago +1 / -2

It's just an analogy lighten up.

Ok how about this, the taliban.

1
radiokbws 1 point ago +1 / -0

Taiwan is an island and eventually any sustained resistance would need to be resupplied. A quagmire as you describe would help the Taiwanese and to some extent hamper the Chicoms but it would mean the US still loses the chip factories which is a/the reason the US would defend Taiwan. In any case the Chicoms could come in, exfiltrate the tech/scientists back to the mainland, blow up the Taiwan chip factories, withdrawal troops and setup a blockade of the island. That would limit their losses while providing huge gains and crippling the US reliant on Taiwanese chips.

I believe the main deterrent that Taiwan has at this time are cruise missiles it could launch in the event of an attack to target Chicom power plants and dams. This would cripple their infrastructure, kill millions from floods and leave them vulnerable in the case of a unified response from the US and allies to the initial attack on Taiwan.

Once the invasion happens the ball is directly on the US and allies for how and to what extent do they respond. Do they limit themselves to action only to retake Taiwan? How do they do that without attacking the mainland? How do ships/equipment get close enough without being taken out by cruise missiles from the mainland?

1
hey_spike 1 point ago +1 / -0

Missiles used as deterrents need to be targeted at the enemy's seat of government. The rulers need to fear for their lives.

You sound like the people saying an archduke getting shot won't start a world war or Czechoslovakia being invaded won't start a world war.

3
Tocqueville 3 points ago +6 / -3

If you knew your history, you'd remember that the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia was given up to Germany in order to appease them and avoid a world war, pretty much the same way you're saying Taiwan should be left to the Chinese.

I guess we all can see what side you're on

4

China heard you loud and clear. You want them to take over as much as they can, and when they put a base in Vancouver and Tijuana then you will be concerned.

Taiwan is on the other side of the world, culturally Chinese and right off the coast of China. If they can defend their independence they deserve it, if not, too bad for them.

2
phzoe 2 points ago +2 / -0

OK. We let China take Taiwan. Our trade policies remain the same with China, and China-controlled Taiwan trade relations deteriorate to same level.

Brilliant!

Or ... we help Taiwan, and China will cut us off from cheap crap and we are forced to rebuilt infrastructure in the US - great for workers.

Also we get to place tarriffs on them !

Do you ever think ahead?

It's not just about countries, we are the leaders of FREEDOM in the WORLD.

Taiwan, while Chinese, is not some medieval religous wasteland. They LIKE us, and in most ways are LIKE us. They modelled their whole country on US.

0
QLARP 0 points ago +2 / -2

How does invading Taiwan with us kids help our country?

2
Judicator 2 points ago +3 / -1

Taiwan is vital to our economy and just about everything we've got militarily. If we ever hope to retake our country and have a functional military their consolidation of that stuff is gonna zap that right the hell out.

But it isn't about Taiwan as much as it's about the Chicoms. If they're invading Taiwan it is because they've exhausted all other possible survival options. Odds are pretty high that Taiwan could repel an invasion from the Chicoms, but if we can crush the Chicoms we crush a huge source of power and influence destroying our nation.

That said doing it at the behest of this administration would be suspicious at best.

I'm not saying we should necessarily go to war over it, but by most if not all accounts the chicoms are evil and will not stop with Taiwan at all. We need to stop them now before they become too big to stop. Appeasement doesn't work, and China has expressed a desire to make our lands "living space" before. I for one take that threat credibly, given the size of their population and their fixation on global domination. Isolation will only last so long even if we do manage to restore our country.

Who the fuck knows, but what I do know is that Taiwan is substantially preferable to the Chicoms and them taking it would be more than slightly alarming.

Really we should have probably just crushed the Chicoms in the Korean war like MacArthur advocated for.

Many rocks and many hard places around us right now.

9
Ez_mac 9 points ago +9 / -0

But you see old 10% Joe was busy dismantling America’s energy independence because of “climate change,” while simultaneously lifting Russian oil sanctions so Europe could become even more reliant on their pipelines not in anyway making them flush with extra cash and leverage for their military…

7
phzoe 7 points ago +11 / -4

Actually, Russia is not land grabbing. It is land grabbing back. Those territories are 75%+ Russian speaking, and Ukraine had no right to take them in the first place. Those Russians became a minority, and Kiev wants to and in many cases did stop education in the Russian language - effectively trying to kill off a culture.

4
d_bokk 4 points ago +6 / -2

I mean, it's Russian speaking because the communist Soviets required it and ethnically cleansed anyone who resisted marxism. Would you give up the US counties bordering Mexico if they speak majority Spanish? I fucking wouldn't.

4
phzoe 4 points ago +7 / -3

That is absolutely false. "Ukrainians" never held Crimea or the Donbass region even before USSR. All the major industrial cities there were founded by RUSSIANS.

Imperial Russia won it from the Turks, fair and square in 1795.

Find me any map before USSR which shows Ukrainians in control of that territory. None exists, because it didn't happen.

2
d_bokk 2 points ago +2 / -0

And Russia de facto controls Crimea and Donbas already. Why amass the troops to go further? You will find people who have been conquered don't just abide by the losses of their former imperial to their new one.

The indigenous keep wanting it all back and when they get it, they don't just give it away because their former rulers say it's only fair. This isn't complicated.

5
phzoe 5 points ago +8 / -3

Ukrainians are indigineous to central Ukraine, not Crimea or Donbass. They are migrants to that area. And they heavily migrated there to Russian founded cities.

You will not find a single map EVER that shows Ukrainians controlling that area or even surpassing 40% population after it was secured for them by Russians.

It was Russia that gave these territories to their Ukraine SSR ... then run by Russians. AND THIS FACT is the only claim Ukrainians have.

They have ZERO historical evidence outside of this gift from Russia SSR to Russians running Ukraine SSR.

ZERO.

I have researched this extensively! Even Greeks and Turks have more claim to this land than Ukrainians.

However, I do understand the discomfort of minority Ukrainian population in this area. But if you believe in Democracy ...

But if you believe in minority rule with zero historic precendent ...

2
phzoe 2 points ago +5 / -3

And one more thing...

Kazakhstan also bit off more territory than it should've and north Kazakhastan is essentially all Russian.

But Kazakh leaders are not antagonizing them in any way, so there's no problem.

But if they were to antagonize them ... those Russians are perfectly under moral law able to ask Russia for assistance.

That's just how things work. Same reason it's OK for rural Oregonian counties to join Idaho.

-1
Junionthepipeline -1 points ago +3 / -4

It's been Russian for thousands of years.

3
Capitalism_Fuck_Yeah 3 points ago +3 / -0

After what the Russians did to the Ukrainians during the holodomor they deserve a country not controlled by Russians.

2
phzoe 2 points ago +3 / -1

Uhuh. Holodomor was definitely brutal, but the famine wasn't only in Ukraine. Here is the map:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holodomor#/media/File%3AFamine_en_URSS_1933.jpg

They have a country, and it's bigger than its historic homeland.

Here is a map of that: http://www.encyclopediaofukraine.com/pic%5CC%5CO%5CCossack_Hetman_State_after_1649.jpg

They should be grateful Russia secured more land for them.

Ukrainian control of western, eastern and southern Ukraine is all thanks to Russians.

Odessa also doesn't traditionally belong to Ukraine, but it's too far away and impractical for Russia to take back.

Ukrainians deserve a home land, and it's already bigger then they alone could've secured.

Israel gave back the Sinai peninsula for free because they felt it didn't belong to them, even though it did by treaty and on a map. Why can't Ukrainians do the same thing? Why do they want continued civil war and tension in their young country?

1
Kenrailae 1 point ago +1 / -0

That could be the case. I'll admit some ignorance and have no reason to not believe you, so I'll concede it as possible. My statement was less about who had claim over the land and more about what is there to deter them from doing it, whether they or Ukraine have the greater claim over the area.

Gas. Gas lines. Without them, the Europoors freeze to death. First of all, no more brother wars. Next is the west media always portray Putin as a tyrant. They conveniently miss that Russia was under 80 years of communism before he came along. In the 20 or so years he's been around, the life or Russians has improved immensely. He's built some 30,000 Christian churches.

They lie about him rounding up homos and tossing them in jail for no reason. The only thing he wants is for them to keep the fag propaganda out of the schools. If they violate that, then yea they get arrested. If it's two adults minding their own business, not a thing happens to them.

Putin is the 2nd most lied about person in the media after-- anyone wanna take a guess? =)

Back to being serious, the US has antagonized the shit out of Russia with Ukraine. John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Victoria Nuland, a whole shitload of crooked politicians have undermined that country. Crimea voted something like 93% to re-unite with Russia. We need to keep the fuck out of their business.

Then as a sobering reality of what people around the world think of us- I mean people who get accurate news- watch a You Tube video of the tension here. Not our media, but from any other country. Go to the comment section. See all the people that basically say "I hope Putin kicks Biden's ass." It will blow your mind. It's 95% for Putin.

World wide Putin is by far the most popular leader when ya figure in people who like/hate the guy. Trump was probably more popular, but he also had a lot more who didn't like him.

His "Give me back my pen" is Legendary around the world. This version has 10 million views. There's other versions too. Probably a billion people have seen this around the globe. 90 second video.

You need to separate the American people from the illegitimate US government.

I don't like China. I certainly wouldn't want to live there and I don't like how they've risen to power over the last few decades. That said, I'm not about to rally behind the US state department and send American patriots off to die for a foreign country.

The more powerful China becomes, the less powerful the globalist DC cabal is. These groups have intersecting interests but they're not aligned.

1
DonttrustChina 1 point ago +1 / -0

China's made it plainly clear they intend to conquer the world. They've already all but declared war on us with their subversion of our politicians, our media, every institution of ours they can sink their claws into. They released a bioweapon on the whole fucking world!

If we don't take steps to contain, destabilize, and defeat China, including military steps, they'll be landing on our shores in 20 years, and by then it'll be too late, because it'll be us horribly weakened, against them grown fat on the spoils of the rest of the world. Just listen to their plans for a "Chinese century".

Communism cannot allow any other, more successful, more free system to exist anywhere, to sustain itself it MUST dominate the world entire. There can be no peace with that, long term.

While no doubt if either Russian or China had aspirations, it doesn’t get to look any better than under this fuckin clown. But likewise, as if they’d take a multi month build up and advertise it. They’d just do it. With the kind of armor they have, I don’t think they need that troop level. It’s on their doorstep. They wouldn’t need to stage near the border to launch an attack like that. Fake LARP to stir more military industrial complex spending to make up for the Afghanistan losses as well as continue interloping in corrupt Ukraine.

EU Globalists want U.S./China proxy wars and Russia appeasement, because Russia called their NATO bluff and they don’t want the gas turned off and the immigrants burning buildings for warmer raping while Eurosoyboys watch the Russian mortars land and Russian tanks roll in.

But the U.S. Globalists want Russia/M.E.
