I don't like the platform. But the Bannon crew is projecting. I see Geotus not needed a primary or hand picking his successor. Either way I'll follow.

As long as people aren't giving them any money or posting things on there that are foolish (things that will draw the authorities on to them like flies on shit) then having an account isn't that big of a deal.

Badge of honor to get banned from a site like GETTR if they prove that they are only about supporting phony RINO politicians.

What makes you think they won't steal it from you?

Cept for the man the had to break the system in order to rob him of his office.

20
MAGA1775 20 points ago +22 / -2

They wouldn't even bother trying to steal it from Ted. He's "part of the club" and owned by the big banks and establishment. It would be just like Romney, Bush, and McStain.

Youngkin was allowed to win VA because he was also "part of the club", part of the Carlyle Group, and had the full backing of the eGOP.

When its two approved globalist candidates, they don't need to perform a soft coup.

Trump was an outsider....hence the hysteria against him.

3
RStroud 3 points ago +3 / -0

Ironically, any candidate that is legitimately running and believes they can win (primary or general) is going to be uniparty trash. I expect it to be like the 2020 DNC race: there will be various Bernies that rally subsets and attack outsiders then inexplicably throw their support behind the media/polling ordained "viable" candidate.

13
680-EVIL 13 points ago +19 / -6

Cruz isn't even eligible since he's not a natural born citizen.

36
Throwmeaway1235 36 points ago +36 / -0

Obama and Harris find this comment funny

21
Sporadica 21 points ago +30 / -9

Not true, he was born an American and that's all that matters, sure he was born in Canada but to American parents, therefore natural born citizen.

This argument makes us look like fucking retards and it needs to stop, there are way bigger fish to fry.

The same shit the Dems tried to pull with McCain being born on a US army base in Panama, the constitution is quite clear, it's nothing to do with soil, but parents allegiance to the US.

(This is also why the 14th amendment should clearly outlaw by soil birthright.)

I'm a retarded maple leaf and I know this.

5
Final212 5 points ago +9 / -4

Ok so "natural born citizen" is the language. No one is arguing he isn't a citizen it is the natural born part. It has never been tested as to what "natural born" means. Yes, the Supreme Court would probably say it's fine, but you never know.

10
Rubicante 10 points ago +11 / -1

Cesarean babies need not apply

7
IntrepidBurger 7 points ago +7 / -0

Almost every country in the world uses jus sanguinis as its determinant for citizenship and has done so since their foundings, that is a child of citizens is a citizen, regardless of place of birth. It stands to reason that that's what was the case during the founding of America as well.

Now it's possible that the founders expressly meant that only people born jus soli could be presidents but that's a weird clause to include and not clarify the language of.

1
MastaJoda 1 point ago +1 / -0

You’re out of your element and that tends to make you look like an ignorant fag.

My son is considered a “natural born citizen, even though he was born in Munich. He has a “US citizen born abroad” birth certificate.

Get informed or jump off a fucking cliff. You’re making this site look like a bunch of fucking idiots.

1
Long_time_lurker 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well, McCain ran for president, so... yeah.

1
VincentFoster 1 point ago +1 / -0

He was born on federal land.

1
SamuelColt 1 point ago +1 / -0

It doesn't need to be "tested" because it's utterly clear. The State Department issues a U.S. "citizen born abroad" birth certificate to make it absolutely clear that such people are natural born citizens.

1
MastaJoda 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't know, fuck tard, but that's irrelevant. Maybe you're too stupid to read the constitution, Jesus Christ I'm a fucking leaf and I know it more than you. Cruz is fine to be president, albeit as retarded as he is.

1
Ballind 1 point ago +1 / -0

Partially correct but this is wrong:

"he was born an American and that's all that matters"

You have to be born to two American parents to be a natural born American

4
BeefyBelisarius 4 points ago +4 / -0

If your parents are citizens, then you're born with citizenship, even if they aren't standing on magic dirt at the time. Jus sanguinis is the original form of natural born citizenship, and was the only form before the reconstruction amendments were misinterpreted to create magic dirt and anchor babies.

2
MastaJoda 2 points ago +2 / -0

You only need ONE US citizen as a parent to get natural born citizenship.

5

Jason Miller had nothing to do with Trump past the transition. Married guy who knocked up one of the staffers then went to work for CNN and lobbyists. Bannon yes, but Miller is the typical DC grift and gettr is hot garbage and direct competition to Trumps venture.

trump campaigning for him saved him that entire race. you have to be insanely unpopular to win reelection in the margin he did

3
Alcibiades1473 3 points ago +3 / -0

Lets be honest, Trump had to campaign for Cruz that hard because of 1. Bad press due to losing pres. Primary 2. Midterm election favoring Dems and 3. Massive amounts of out of state money pouring into Betas coffers. That said, I also dont think Cruz has what it takes to either win or lead even if he did

1
suliv 1 point ago +1 / -0

yeah I'm not saying it was better him not campaigning for cruz (else beto would've 100% won), just saying he sucks, and I don't know why people on our side think hes MAGA or to be trusted. he was a establishment bush guy, turned tea party, turned i guess as a poser trump supporter when it benefited him.

30
LordScatmanJohn 30 points ago +42 / -12

Trump has been slipping recently with the vax crap and hanging out with assholes like Graham, but fuck me if anyone right of Romney thinks Cruz is a viable alternative. He's reverted back to being lyin Ted as evidenced by his recent remarks.

At the same time though, with none of the fuckery of 2020 being resolved, and the eGOP completely outing themselves, what are the chances of getting someone elected who is actually going to get shit done again? Strategically their best move would be let rinos win so they can go "SEE!?!?!?!? IT'S NOT RIGGED!!!!"

Definitely still vote, make those fuckers work for it at least.

37
conservativefrank 37 points ago +38 / -1

Yup, Ted is going on about how horrible it was on Jan 6. We saw Ted with the others in Congress calmly strolling out of the chamber while browsing on their phones. Wow, quite an insurrection. What a horror.

Meanwhile, nothing from Cruz about the Antifa/BLM thug riots throughout the summer of 2020 in DC. That was much worse, including planned and coordinated violence supported by the leftists.

9
vote_for_MAGA_2020 9 points ago +12 / -3

Either pedes here at TDW suffer from major mood swings or we have a lot of shills here. Here about two months ago I called TeD CRUz a RINO and I was attacked relentlessly for it. I called him a RINO for the very same reason as everyone else here the past couple of days…he had called the protesters “terrorists” back during the original event. But two months ago, I was swarmed with shills telling me “oh he just had to say that cuz politics, he’s the best we’ve got”. Now we’re back on bash-Cruz train.

So which is it? Do y’all like him or hate him?

12
Moose_Antlers 12 points ago +12 / -0

I'll speak for me. The rest of this crew can be schizophrenic at times. (Shills, morons, shitposters, feds, etc all give that impression)

Cruz is a good lawyer. He's a fantastic debator and sharp as a tack. He makes a great senator. He'd make a better SCOTUS justice. But he's not an executive. He has no such experience. Being in the Captain's chair is a lot different from being where he has always sat. He sometimes forgets that. He has a massive ego, a ton of ambition, and he's very susceptible to flattery. The GOP insiders all know it too, so they puff him up.

Ted Cruz is an opportunist. The things he did in the 2016 campaign that got him the nickname Lyin' Ted were evidence of that. Again, his ego and ambition shine through. He'd love to be President, but I think deep down, he understands there are better men for the job. When Trump proved that, Lyin' Ted accepted his role and became Lion Ted.

When Lion Ted stays in his wheelhouse, he's a phenom. When he strays into Trump's lane, he's going to get my criticism. If he wants to be an executive, run for Texas governor and earn his spurs.

2
Alcibiades1473 2 points ago +2 / -0

This is a great analysis and I agree 100%. Cruz has a lot of uses and has achievee many conservative ends worthy of praise. He still falls well short of whats required and should stay where he is or run for tx gov

11
VoltronGreen1981 11 points ago +12 / -1

Some jump on board the hype train without thinking. Cruz has always been a politician. Not a leader, not a guardian, just a career politician that plays the game. He's a symptom of a bigger problem and needs to be tossed out on his ass.

6
IntrepidBurger 6 points ago +6 / -0

He was loyal to Trump for 5 years. There are almost no politicians who can say the same. There's no mood swings, the rational take was to support Cruz during that time. It's stupid to attack those who are allied with you and earnestly helping.

But Cruz was always playing the long con, so he ended up being the RINO and we're excoriating him for it.

4
MAGA1775 4 points ago +6 / -2

Here about two months ago I called TeD CRUz a RINO and I was attacked relentlessly for it.

Lyin' Ted became "Lion Ted"

This place is weird and mostly operates on emotions rather than critical thinking

People also started shilling hard over McConnell and Graham at one point too, despite hating them in 2015-2016.

Lots of cognitive dissonance

2
Alcibiades1473 2 points ago +2 / -0

I dont think it' cognitive dissonance to like Graham one day and hate him the next. To not see people as they are and be distracted by temp achievements is simply the mark of a distractable and fickle people. Thats the case on both the right and left with the common man

4
TravlingThr0ugh [S] 4 points ago +5 / -1

I call him CIA CRUZ. He lost whatever fight he had.

9
TuringComplete 9 points ago +12 / -3

However, I am open to a ticket helmed by Ron DeSantis.

Yup, I said it, and meant it. Competition is good.

4
hellohellohellohello 4 points ago +4 / -0

You should read some of Sundance's stuff on him... he's complimentary of a lot of what Ron is doing, but also very skeptical of him as a presidential candidate. I think he's right that Ron's GOPe at the core.

2
Alcibiades1473 2 points ago +2 / -0

The thing is, almost every leader will be some level of GOPe because candidates are drafted up from the base levels of their party. They dont run from a vacuum, local parties decide who gets on the ballots and that carries all the way to the top. TL:DR I dont think having a light stink of GOPe on you excludes you from being a good right candidate. The swamp gets on everyone, just not everyone drinks from it

2
DaayTerkErJerbs 2 points ago +2 / -0

He needs to remain governor of florida for now. Fl is getting more red by the day but we need desantis here to oversee the next 4 years till we reach a point it will be hard for broward or palm beach to rig in a Democrat governor n destroy the state. Glenn Beck literally just aired an interview with President Trump Wednesday night and it was awesome! If anyone wants a war, a guy with a name like “Raheem” would be the likely candidate.

9
Moose_Antlers 9 points ago +9 / -0

Raheem Kasam's a long-time conservative commentator and his chops are legit. He's just reporting what he sees coming. He's not driving Cruz's ambition. Cruz's ambition and ego are driving that. Cruz is hearing a ton of DC insiders who hate Trump. These are the same people who stabbed Trump in the back during the actual Jan 6th, 2021 insurrection - the GOP insiders who partnered with the Democrats to complete the steal just to get rid of Trump. Cruz is listening to those voices and thinks he has a chance. That's his ego talking. Those voices will butter up and smooth talk anyone who is willing to run against Trump.

The 2024 GOP nom is Trump's and everyone knows it.

1
DeepWinter 1 point ago +1 / -0

0

Tough standard. Motivated by self interest, its one I no longer hold but to each his own.

Fwiw to forgive someone does not have to mean you forget or abandon an attitude of vigilant skepticism. Forgiveness can just remove emotional clutter that can impair future sober calculations.

I lost respect for Beck years ago w/all the crying episodes.

5

Beck learns his lessons the hard way but I would be very surprised if he went off the rails again. We'll see.

4

Is that what his stupid comments about January 6th or about? Is he going the typical rhino route and going more left to try to appease Middle road voters? These so-called experts in the business of being political geniuses are absolute morons. They buy into the whole "undecided and middle of the road voters" strategy.

Rush taught us; who in the last 15 years could be undecided? This is a very small sect of voters that is nearly non-existent. Chasing them is wasting vast amounts of money and resources. Catering to them turns off your base who end up staying home. Chasing middle of the road voters is a strategy born in leftists camps as a diversion tactic to get Republican candidates chasing ghost voters and getting their base to stay home as they become a middle ground, bland candidate everyone hates. When Cruz talks about January 6 terrorists he turns all the masses of energized trumpers off and gets the ears to perk up on the 5 "undecideds" in the world.

In the 2015 primary I was for Cruz. Trump had led a life of being a Democrat, and that was his only track record in politics. I didn't believe anything he said. Needless to say, he made me a believer in his actions. Now I certainly prefer Trump over Cruz. That being said, Cruz's comments yesterday about January 6th were quite concerning, but in general I have stood up for him and still consider him an ally. Don't forget he's one of the 6 or so who DID object on 1-6-2020 to the electors. While he is not as strong as we would like him to be, he certainly is not a McConnel-esque RINO.

Trump got the people who typically don't vote to vote for him. That's a larger number than these supposedly undecided people.

my point exactly. instead of lurching left and being a bland, off-the-shelf politician people should lurch RIGHT for the BASE!

come on don’t be Lyin Ted again.

Cozette 2 points ago +3 / -1

He's never stopped being Lyin' Ted. Some people just forgot who Ted is. Some didnt.

Remembering does not prevent me from appreciating Lyin' Teds self serving moves when they align with my interests. I'm just not naive enough to believe Lyin' Ted is motivated by Constutional principles or to fall for the inorganic and cringe muh based Lion Ted memes.

Gettr doesn't have anything to do with Trump. Trump called that out way back when they first went online.

Some people just can't read the room. I liked Ted well enough until recently, but he's always been dreaming if he thinks he's going to be President.

He's a phenomenal debater, one of the best in the history of the Senate...but being able to argue your point is a small part of being a politician. His real problem, the one he'll never get over, is that he's got a creepy mortician aspect about him.

There's a reason the Zodiac Killer stuff stuck to him for so long, even in jest. He's just got a touch of the creepster in him, but that's enough. He's lucky to be a Senator, and that'll do it for Ted.

After Ted’s trip to Mexico during the polar vortex, I’m not sure Ted could win Texas.

The Cruz people will lose just as badly as they did in 2016.

Ted Cruz announces another run for president: Sideshow Bob will be his campaign manager.

The only good politicians have been banned off twitter. Everyone else requires a daily colonoscopy

It was pretty obvious when he said the "runner up in the primary is usually the next nominee".

Now he's trashing Trump, as if Jan 6 and the democrats vitriol was Trump's fault. It was the spineless GOP and the democrats TDS.

aqua27 2 points ago +2 / -0

For all the Teddy lovers out there name 3 things teddy has done for MAGA He is all talk talk talk yeah he makes Uncle Joe nominees look stupid but never sways the vote against them hell he can't stop Graham the democrat enabler to not vote for them. For me it's Trump or DeSantis or I'll stay home no more holding my nose and voting RINO I wouldn't vote for Garbarino who replaced RINO Peter King in my district he a local party stooge who helped Peloser

There's also the possibility that a few republicans are going to run against Trump for thew sole purpose of deflecting media attacks against Trump to them.
