It is definitely not healthy for you, very processed and very expensive for less taste and less nutrition. I bet this shit causes cancer later down the road.
that article is very dishonest.they openly conflate phytogestrogen with estrogen.the impossible burger in fact has 0 estrogen much like the beef burger has 0 phytogestrogen. this is comparing apples to oranges but consider that nearly all beef production and dairy production is encumbered by massive doses of human hormones and artificial injections that bio-accumulate in the meat.this is simple science.when you are eating animals you are always eating hormones.this new debate saying that phyto hormones from plants are as applicable to humans as the mammal variety is fueled by business.the impossible burger is not healthy but this line of attack is very flawed.it is simply composed of plants, the same plants that the cows eat and the same plants that other humans eat as a component of their daily diet.
"the red appearance of the vegetable patty comes from genetically splicing a soybean and yeast:
The bacterial enzyme that binds the nitrogen is damaged by the presence of oxygen so the bacterium makes the leghemoglobin to bind oxygen to keep it out of the way. To make enough leghemoglobin to add to the impossible whopper, scientists spliced the gene for leghemoglobin into yeast. They can grow the yeast easily and separate the leghemoglobin and add it to the impossible whopper. So the impossible whopper is technically a genetically modified organism (GMO)."
As far as phytoestrogens being "conflated" with estrogens - you are sadly misinformed. There's a lot of research and lack of agreement on just to what degree phytoestrogens cause similar effects to estrogens.
Here's one example article to show some of the things considered:
Tell me you didn't pay attention in highschool science classes without telling me you didn't pay attention in science class. This is the equivalent of getting our panties in a bunch over dihydrogen monoxide.
The dirty little secret is that places that serve the 'fake meat' cook it using the same tools and ways as the real meat. They even tell you that on their web sites (I know Taco Bell is VERY clear about it online...in small print).
Not to mention there is no plant material in existence that has all of the amino acids you need. There's 20 amino acid's, and the closest thing that comes to filling them all is peanut butter with 18 of them. That's still 2 types of amino acids missing from a diet. Other sources like soy only have 9 of them. And that's not counting all the other shit in plants that isn't good for you. Meat has all amino acids.
They're doing it because they want to put other industries out of business and replace them with their products. It's that simple. Just like Big Pharma is trying to put our immune systems out of business and replace them with their stuff.
Just combine the plants to get the different amino acids. Do what the punjabis. I of course drink milk and add cheese to my beans and potatoes. So much for my plant based diet.
It's not that simple. There is at least one that can only be found in meat. On top of that, the ones found in plants aren't necessarily in large quantities. So you can say they are present, but that doesn't mean it's a good source of an adequate amount of various amino acids. Fact is, meat gets the job done.
What the "going green" people largely don't know, and the ones that do know don't want you to know, is that more greenhouse gases actually come from rotting produce. Far more than cows. Everything they blame on meat eaters, and use to try to increase plant based eating, actually encourages the production of greenhouse gases.
If they really wanted to reduce greenhouse gases, they'd be encouraging a nearly all meat diet and less plant based foods.
My dad has bought the hype that its somehow better for you. I just won't eat it, I don't like the taste and the nutritional information tends to trend towards it being bad. If I'm not going to eat actual meat, I'll just eat vegetables and starches. I don't want nor need meat substitute.
Tell your dad, if you need laboratories and a factory to create the "food product", it's not better for you.
Can you recreate it in your kitchen is a pretty damn good metric. Look at margarine verses butter. One can't be made without solvents, chemical processing, and high pressure. The other can be made by giving a hyper toddler a zip lock tub and telling them to shake it.
Simple food is always better. Fake meat is not simple
I ate nuts, no peanuts hate the smell. Some chick peas, couscous etc & I cheated making the couscous with chicken broth. It did not affect my work productivity but I would not do it again.
Humans are omnivores. We need both meat and plant nutrients for healthy living. Too much of one at the expense of the other is never good, hence the term “balanced diet.”
When they start selling meat based products designed to look, feel and taste like plants, and a cadre of doctors talk about how not eating plants is more healthy and ethical, then I might listen to some "balanced diet" talk.
Try this at home, have a one year old kid and put in front of him some baby carrots (shouldn't have eaten till then) and some diced medium rare steak (shouldn't have tasted meat till then). Which one do you think the kid will choose?
The gunk on the floor under the table? After raising a brood, sometimes it doesn't matter what you put in front of them, they're going to find something really disgusting to grab their attention and appetite.
You won't get constipated if you only eat meat, it's a myth.
Take a group of people, feed some only meat and feed some only plants.
The plant eating group will be dead or near death in 60 days and the meat eating group will be perfectly healthy (assuming the meat includes fat and organs).
Yeah, when I cook for my vegan/vegetarian friends- it's just a little more prep work to use actual veggies instead of this crap. Mushrooms are great for building that umami flavor that you normally get from meat. Rehydrated shiitake mushrooms in particular for some reason.
Imagine eating fake human meat. A lot of people who don't eat meat are repulsed by the idea of eating meat, even fake meat. There is a market, but it's size is overestimated.
I like animals. For real. Cats, dogs , goats, even cows and chickens. I realized that they were sentient creatures and given the proper space and care they turn into funny happy creatures, even cows. I figure we eat them without remorse because we chose to look at them as ressources and not as individuals as we do with cats or dogs, or horses (some people eat horse) .
And I live in a rich developed country , I can eat a ton of other things to keep me healthy and aptly nourished (lol) , so meat is not mandatory.
To me eating cow or pork or chicken is like eating cat or dog: some cultures might find it acceptable. It's not my case.
And it's not that hard, frankly.
Also I used to LOVE meat. Do I miss it? Oh yeaaaaah. But it's my own conscience , it's nagging me. ;)
That'sd excatly my point: there is no difference in between a goat or a dog. I like both.
Goats can be the funniest creatures, they recognize you, they appreciate you, they come to greet you , they may play with you despite the fact that they have not been bred into being friendly/useful/smart for thousands of generations like the dog .
Cats and dogs are absolutely food. They escape the plate because they are inefficient meatstock compared to grazing animals and they better fit our needs as symbiotic predators.
Obviously it is not socially acceptable in our culture, and I have no need in our abundance to consume these creatures. Strictly speaking, they are made of soulless food, and I wont starve to death on behalf of an unowned dog.
God has no problem with eating animals. Jesus divided fish and the Jews spent hundreds of years raising, slaughtering, and eating cows and lambs. If you dont believe in God, there is no higher power to condemn you for eating meat. If a chicken was bigger than you, it would eat you in a heartbeat. A cow or deer will eat mice and birds if they catch them. It really is a dumb sacrifice to make unless you have Lyme disease.
Like gran used to point out, if she ever fell over in front the chickens her bones would be pecked clean by the time help arrived.
The dogs are different, they would defend your body until the point they are starving, some maybe even longer depending on what they are like (we've had dogs we had to forcefeed when they were depressed over their owner or another dog passing on that would've starved themselves to death if we hadn't). Pigs would eat you without a second thought lol, we were surprised one of ours left the (very flat) body when he rolled over in his sleep (drunk) over his rooster friend (drunk as well) after eating fermented fruits off the ground together.
I like chickens. The pets and the food. Ours live good lives, the layers and the broilers. The meat and eggs are healthier and tastier that way too.
every town needs a butcher. The fact you empathize w the creatures that must be slaughtered for our human survival gives you more right to eat them than 99% of the people who do.
I hope your health stays well. Sincerely. And I respect your passion for cause, and likely your weight and general health from avoiding factory farmed and processed meats in our diet on a perpetual and daily basis.
Don't go ano on us tho, and a burger a week is probably healthy so you can sustain the enzymes that are necessary to process meats.
But I don't tell you what to do, I envy a part of you and fear for another. Freedom is a beautiful thing.
Animals eat other animals, does that make them bad? Is a lion immoral? What about a whale?
If these animals you can’t bring yourself to eat are truly “sentient creatures” then wouldn’t they bear a moral responsibility for the food they choose to eat?
But you are a sentient being just like a lion, according to your own words, so does not a lion bear moral culpability for his choice of diet? Or are you asserting that you are MORE aware than a lion, just like a lion is MORE aware than a gazelle?
Well, that's not wrong. But you know, "being used to something, familiar to the point that you would not question it" is not necessary a good argument for anything. There are many places where the people there have very terrible practices and it's only natural for them but what does it say about "truth"?
Anyways, I would not disagree with anybody about the fact that eating meat is natural for humans, it surely is.
As was dying at 30 .
At cavemen times? Not really no. and yes, skyhigh infant mortality was natural too.
Also you would die of most severe wound due to infections, or a tooth abscess, or the classical appendicitis. And being full of parasites like skin worms or instetine worms and fleas and ticks
soy milk has some phytoestrogen, far less if non gmo.cow milk has a tremendous amout of REAL estrogen and artificial drugs pumped into it.this retarded new technique of trying to scare people away from eating plants because of phyto hormones while hiding the fact that all animal products have massive amounts of real and artificial hormones that are all applicable to people.the science suggesting phyto hormones applicable is void and nobody takes plant hormones for therapy.
you stopped eating meat, didn't sustain the enzymes necessary. You need to build back up to breaking that shit down in your gut. That is just my instinct. I did an ano run and a vegetarian run and pescatarian run. You lose the ability to process stuff if you don't do so regularly....if you simplify it this way, I'd guess this is what you are going through.
I'm really not sure how to help. I think there are probiotics you can look into specifically to regenerate the enzymes you need. Also, if you are sensitive to a food, that doesn't make it bad, it just means you have to work back up to processing it.
Avoid alcohol and processed sugars is a start, then add those problematic foods back into your diet slowly, like you're trying to maintain a "healthy" habit for heroin. One bite of animal proteins, and then dilute that with other foods you are used to processing.
I remember eggs and fish being crucial to rebuilding. Then to chicken. Then small portions of red meat, this is what you are building up to. I can't eat just a steak and be good, and that's fine.
Wish I could help you more. I hope another pede can add to it, this is just my experience. I kicked the ano shit w pescatarian diet and then moved back to a typical american diet.
The foundation for when I was doing best was plenty of exercise and not starving myself plus no alcohol. Actually pretty easy at the time. Now I am in so so health and just need more natural fibers and less processed food. Dont think that I got it all figured out for 1 second.
I'm no dietician. But I would suggest looking for a specific or general probiotic at bare minimum. Then eat all meals throughout the day. Finally, cut the sugar and fake food out, and you might end up doing better, then work on your specific foods, the gut health has to come first to that. You could also try a fiber supplement, AND CHEW YOUR FOOD ENOUGH. That helped me a lot.
It's a long process and I definitely don't have all the answers. You will need to help yourself.
If you are like me, you need more NATURAL foods in your diet, no more microwave shit. Make yourself some eggs w the yolk just a little runny, have some nuts, add some protein supplement, and go for some walks. Try to keep your food in, monitor your stools. 1-2 poops a day solid, or you are doing something wrong. Could just a the wrong order in which you eat things.
Some people burn their insides out w coffee first thing in the AM then wonder why they can't shit right.
Sorry it's a ramble, and someone might shit on all my suggestions, you gotta find what works for you bc everyone is different. Add NATURAL foods into your diet, remove processed ones, take walks, and watch your turds. I bet you will be doing better if you can try that for 1 week.
GL Dude. We all got a bit of work to do. Feel no shame in doing it.
I would recommend probiotics. Bacteria for your digestive system that breaks down food. Find a good local farm or co-op and get some raw dairy. Fermented food like kimchi and sauerkraut is really good for you. Introduce meat or whatever problem foods you have very slow; very small "dosages" or portions.
This might be considered a last resort solution but you can actually get a fecal implant (not sure if that is the exact name), but they take someone's poop, who has healthy gut flora, and put it in your butt...or something like that with the purpose of fixing your own gut.
Nah dude.. It's about their odor , it's about the high urea level in their blood making these small like piss lol There's always something in the taste that I dislike. Also for me the sea is a disgusting place , anything that comes from it is highly suspect (ok, I know that I'm not being reasonable here but basically that's what I've always thought about seafood)
Already hearing news reports on the expected huge spike in “meatless” meat this year. KFC now offering plant based chicken. I can imagine a time where those stuck in heavily populated cities will have little or no choice to eat real meat unless you smuggle cows into your backyard and learn to butcher it yourself.
Worst are vegetarian eggs from 'vegetarian' chickens. If the hens don't get proteins from insects - or meat - they apparently develop mood issues and start hacking into each other. It's not good for them or their eggs.
We never had that since ours can roam and forage - and they sometimes get scraps (gristle, meat rests on bone etc.) - the eggs we get taste especially good.
I'm a vegetarian. I'm completely baffled by the idea of "turning animals vegetarian".
It leads me to understand that some vegans are obsessed by their own health and never cared a smidge about animals and not utilizing them as ressources.
They have come out with vegan kibble for cats and dogs too. Absolute insanity. Dogs have limited ability to survive off meat, like for a few months - unlike wolves, they seem to have gained that adaptation from domestication (they have amylase in their mouths which wolves don't, ie limited ability to digest breads etc) - cats will starve outright if they can't hunt. Normally the plants in kibble were there as padding to cut costs, having it as the entire food is just starving your pets.
I get the impression most vegans are narcissists or just total brainwashing victims.
Here's a fun fact: cats need veggies/plant based nutrients. Not a whole lot but they need them. And do you know how they obtain them? When they devour a rodent, a bird, they eat their intestines too and everything that in there. Because the digestion of the vegetal food was started by the prey, the cat organism that normally lack many of the enzymes, can absorb them .
That's the first I've heard of it. From what I understand cats don't get any nutritional benefit from plants, only meat, but it doesn't matter if the animals guts are full or not.
At most I can think of them eating grass to try calm upset stomachs (if they do the same as our dogs do), but that's not for nutritional reasons.
Cos they know if youre dumb enough to live off only plants youll be dumb enough to pay anything for it. No animal fat in the diet will literally starts shutting your body down. Weakbones weak brain
For your main calorie sources it's pretty much animal products or starches. Calorie for calorie rice or pasta is way cheaper than meat, but a proper vegan diet involves a lot of more expensive stuff than rice.
And the fake meat is Beyond a Reasonable Price and Impossible to Justify.
Any big name brand is usually fake. Real olive oil will usually have the date it was harvested labeled on the back. Also color and especially taste are other ways to know.
Thats not what the studies have shown. What you just said sounds like it came from some keto youtuber. Processed carbs like chips? Yes. Process meats? Defiently studies have shown processed meats to shorten life expectancy. Mediterranean diet is considered one of the healthiest diets in the world and its full of whole food carbohydrates, vegetables, fruits and lean meats, fish.
I don't drink beer for that reason. I didn't know soy had estrogen, tried to use it as a replacement for cow milk, and was drinking tons of soy per day. I began to take on a womanly figure. I grew breasts and thick hips and thighs. As soon as I switched back to cow milk, I regained lost muscle, and shed the fat on my chest and other areas. Anecdotal, I know, but that experience is what prompted me to do a bunch of research.
Soy milk is actually helpful if you have enlarged prostate. There were studies done on this if I remember. Something to do with the way it binds to the receptor on the prostate that estrogen normal binds too therefore blocking actual estrogen untake if I remember correctly.
This updated systematic review and meta-analysis provides a thorough evaluation regarding the association between soy food intake and PCa risk. Using the current pool of scientific literature, our results support the existing evidence, which indicates that total soy food intake is associated with a reduced risk of PCa (p < 0.001). This population-based evidence corroborates observations in both in vitro and in vivo studies, which have shown that soy isoflavones inhibit PCa development and growth
Conclusions: Our study suggests that men with high consumption of soy milk are at reduced risk of prostate cancer. Possible associations between soy bean products, isoflavones and prostate cancer risk should be further investigated
No it’s not- soy is a staple in the diet of many Asian countries in the “blue zone” where people regularly live to 100. If soy was poison they would all be dead. Enough with the bro science
Fermented soy is tempeh- which they absolutely eat. But they eat a ton of tofu which isn’t fermented. They also enjoy soy beans. So saying they don’t eat raw or cooked soy is simply a lie
Tofu is not soy. It's a coagulated soy milk product. True it's not fermented, but it is heavily processed. You're right about them eating cooked soy, which is a mistake on my part, but Asians aren't exactly vegans are they? They aren't vegetarians subsisting on soy and other vegetable products.
Whatever harmful effects they are experiencing through soy consumption will be mitigated to a degree by the animal products they consume.
That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Listen to yourself. You have soybean derangement syndrome. Soy is poison except if you eat meat to counteract the harmful effects from the soy? Dude, seek help at once
What's confusing about that? Have you never heard of tannins, phytates, etc? Vegetables have natural defense mechanisms block nutrient absorption. It stands to reason if you are getting those nutrients elsewhere (meat) then you aren't going to have a problem.
Have you not heard of vegans experiencing Vitamin B12 deficiency? Does eating meat not provide Vitamin B12? I like how this is a conspiracy theory all of a sudden lol.
You can take poison and not die. Maybe it makes you weak and submissive and diminutive in stature and leads to a nation of once great warriors that is now a nation of pussy communist subjects that also live longer due to unrelated genetics. How bout that?
OR it could be that I'm a walking example of the health benefits of animal protein and exercise and I can see with my own eyes what happens to most soy eaters and I'm using that experience to form my opinion on the subject.
You know, believing my own eyes unlike the agenda of the soy eaters who constantly ask me to disbelieve what I see and experience every day.
Okay I’ve been a vegan for 8 years and I exercise. I’m fine. My wife is fine. My kids are fine. There are vegan bodybuilders and high performing athletes that all eat soy all day long. If meat works for you than fine, but don’t be a shithead and say soy beans ruin your health when there is ample evidence is most certainly doesn’t. Stop being a democrat about the facts
Maybe people who's ancestors ate that stuff for generations are adapted to metabolize it without all the problems western populations seem to have with it? Like how Indians can't handle alcohol?
I understand the point- I personally don’t think milk is good for anyone but it has benefits and is downright bad for Asians. Soy beans are just a bean that rednecks slander for no reason other than memes
Lol I noticed this at Publix, they had it buy one get one free and it's just piled up, untouched. They aren't out of regular meat and things, though, but definitely no one wants this garbage.
All vegans eat is sugar, its short burst energy that makes them starving every hour. If I owned slaves I would want them to be vegan... Would habe to get used to bones breaking like firecrackers though
It's like when people give up grains but keep trying to make bread without using grains. Either eat the real thing, or give it up. Chickpea muffins and pinto bean pasta is just adding insult to injury.
I saw a video on youtube where a guy made cauliflower crust pizza. At the end he said make sure if you have friends over you tell them they're coming over for cauliflower, not for pizza. That way they'll be pleasantly surprised instead of disappointed.
Non-meat food can be delicious, chocolate for example, but you need something to provide proteins and fats. That's where meat shines, and most of the non animal product substitutes are neither as tasty nor as healthful.
Yeah tomorrow I am buying 4 pounds of meat filleting it into steaks and having a fatty steak with some broccoli. Man Some mashed potatoes sound really good as a second side....
Yeah, I'm vegetarian but it's because I don't like the taste of meat - it's annoying how they're trying to push all this fake crap that tastes like a shittier version
Maybe if the prices were rasonable people would buy it. It's like making a fake designer purse and charging more than the authentic purse. It doesn't make sense.
The reason why these shelves look like this is because the vegan crap is frozen when it's shipped. They get shipments of it that last for vastly longer because of this and it's less impacted by short term supply chain issues.
A grocery store misses one delivery, their normal meat section will be empty. If they miss multiple deliveries, the vegan crap will still be ok because it's all frozen in the back.
This is all pretty common to happen during major snow storms. It's why it's common for people in the north and midwest to rush to the store before a big storm hits.
I was all into it because I was trying to lose weight and be healthy. Then I got a b12 deficiency which wasn't any fun. Then I found out about the cultured human fetal cells they use to test flavor profiles.
Plant based chicken turds! So fresh you'd swear they came from your middle school! Just invented! Sure it's as nutritionally viable as just eating a mouth full of stale uncooked corn meal but think of the children!
I own a Burger/Breakfast butty van here in the UK. I have tried absolutely every vegan/veggie option you can think of, even the Beyond stuff. It is all garbage. Absolute shite. Tastes nothing like meat. I refuse to sell any of it.
Someone asks me what my vegan options are I tell them; I do bottles of water.
You want good vegan/veggie food? Build it from the ground up as vegan/veggie. Don't try to emulate something you will never ever approach in flavour or texture. And don't fucking ask a Burger van for veggie food; clue's in the name!
From someone who is vegetarian because they don't like meat, the whole emulating part sucks ass. What ever happened to veggie burgers, which were a different type of flavor but actually taste decent? Half of the places have this impossible/beyond shit when I just want a good old veggie burger lol
Let the liberals eat it. They need the GMO nutrition even if it does turn their hair purple. By the way, Burger King veggie burgers contain something like a ton of estrogen. Man boobs ahoy.
I noticed this at the local Aldi store. There wasn’t any real shortages, but all of the normal frozen things were sold out and only the crap like cauliflower crust pizza was left.
It was a bit unfair, there was probably 3x the space dedicated to the cauliflower pizza than to the normal ones.
Other similar new age options around the store were the same. Fake meat? Plenty. Real meat? Limited space and slim pickings.
Live and let live. You want to eat meat fine. You don't fine. Everybody should mind their own business and save the pontificating. In other words, shut up, eat your food and don't be an asshole. Thanks.
Let me rephrase your own comment: "Live and let post. You want to post a joke about vegan food, fine. You don't, fine. Everybody should mind their own business if you have a problem with it. In other words, if you don't like a post just keep scrolling instead of crying like a bitch in the comments." Thanks
I remember going to a little restaurant after one of my grandchildren were born. They had a pretty large menu and a lot of the stuff looked good like nachos and burgers and stuff. The waiter comes to take our drink order and then informs us everything was vegan. NO WHERE on this menu was that stated. I said, you can't call something cheese if it has no milk, and, I don't eat margarine.... he said "yada, yada" and, I said, "Look, I don't have a problem with vegetables, I can eat a bowl of broccoli smothered in olive oil but, I just don't agree with calling things foods that they can't be if they're vegan." They didn't like me there. But, to "prove their point, they gave us a free order of the nachos. When my husband asked me what I thought, I said, it tastes like exactly what it is.... CASHEWS! It didn't taste like cheese at all.
Look like even vegan people don't eat vegan food too.
I've known a couple. Never met one who buys/likes that shit.
I never bought this when I was. I ate a lot of fruit & vegetables. Fake meat seemed sort of not so healthy.
It is definitely not healthy for you, very processed and very expensive for less taste and less nutrition. I bet this shit causes cancer later down the road.
has a high amount of estrogen, saw an article that was talking about it when the impossible (fake meat) burger came out from burger king.
44mg of estrogen was what they were saying - which is 3 to 6 times as much as someone "transitioning" from male to female would take!
https://nationalfile.com/doctor-burger-kings-impossible-burger-has-18-million-times-more-estrogen-than-regular-whopper/

Not all plants have phytoestrogens. You’re right that most food is toxic though.
When you feminize males, it makes countries easier to take over. It's all part of their plan.

Is that what Big Mike does?
Don't get it near AoC's horse teeth.

Ikr, buddy thinks constipation is keeping out the colon cancer. What a maroon.
He's actually not wrong about this.
You won't get constipated if you only eat meat, it's a myth.
Take a group of people, feed some only meat and feed some only plants.
The plant eating group will be dead or near death in 60 days and the meat eating group will be perfectly healthy (assuming the meat includes fat and organs).
based
Grains/fiber result in digestive tract inflammation. Inflammation leads to cancer.
Eat your meats, fish and roughage with as little processing as possible.
Yeah, when I cook for my vegan/vegetarian friends- it's just a little more prep work to use actual veggies instead of this crap. Mushrooms are great for building that umami flavor that you normally get from meat. Rehydrated shiitake mushrooms in particular for some reason.
The vegans I know eat a lot of beans, rice, bread, fruit, veg. They ate tons of carbs and we’re pear shaped.
I'm sorry?
Ah. That's probably because they are vegans then . I'm a vegetarian, and thus I'm not. I'm ginseng shaped. they watch me strollin'
Imagine eating fake human meat. A lot of people who don't eat meat are repulsed by the idea of eating meat, even fake meat. There is a market, but it's size is overestimated.
they're inside mom's pantry hoarfing down cans of corned-beef hash.
hoarding + scarfing.
Nice
they're inside mom's pantry whorefing down cans of corned-beef hash.
Thanks for the hash wisdom, fren!
Doing so right now. Nothing beat some crispy hash with eggs...
I have found my people.
I'm vegetarian, not vegan (I eat eggs, dairy), I wouldn't touch this industrial processed junk crap with a ten foot pole
But it's my own conscience , it's nagging me. ;)
Chinese restaurants enter the chat
So, we can get dibs on the dogs and cats?
Yeah, they will chop the dog's legs off then boil it alive. Very sickening, fuck China
They record the torture on their phones to watch later. The louder the agonized screams, the funnier it is to them.
"Cats and dogs are not food, imo. We bred them for a different purpose."
So if you start to breed them for food it's ok for you?
A cow will also fuck you right up if it wants. Same for chickens, goats, cats and dogs. They'll eat your rotting corpse without a care in the world.
Yeah. But am I a cow or a chicken?
No, but you are projecting your morality onto them. They are resources, not individuals. Even your pets or animals that aren't commonly eaten.
Well. I basically disagree 100%.
every town needs a butcher.
I've been vegetarian for 6 years now . I'm 1.75 m (5.7 feet) and 73kg (161lbs), have a small amount of fat on my belly.
I'm 41 tho.
Animals eat other animals, does that make them bad? Is a lion immoral? What about a whale?
If these animals you can’t bring yourself to eat are truly “sentient creatures” then wouldn’t they bear a moral responsibility for the food they choose to eat?
But I'm not a lion or a wolf or a shark. We flatter ourselves, human beings, about having conscious thoughts. My thoughts lead me to make a choice.
But you are a sentient being just like a lion, according to your own words, so does not a lion bear moral culpability for his choice of diet? Or are you asserting that you are MORE aware than a lion, just like a lion is MORE aware than a gazelle?
I'm more aware of a lion and I live in a world that allows me to make choices. The lion does not have a choice. I have.
You’re the same being, with different tools. I have no more proof of your sentience then that cow.
Too many people are alienated from the natural world and this is a result
Well, that's not wrong. But you know, "being used to something, familiar to the point that you would not question it" is not necessary a good argument for anything. There are many places where the people there have very terrible practices and it's only natural for them but what does it say about "truth"?
Anyways, I would not disagree with anybody about the fact that eating meat is natural for humans, it surely is. As was dying at 30 .
You're confusing high perinatal mortality with life expectancy. People who survived to 1 year had a very good chance of living a long life
At cavemen times? Not really no. and yes, skyhigh infant mortality was natural too. Also you would die of most severe wound due to infections, or a tooth abscess, or the classical appendicitis. And being full of parasites like skin worms or instetine worms and fleas and ticks
Try black cherry juice. RW Knudsen brand
You do know that processed soy is full of estrogens that alter the body as well. In women, it causes thyroid disease. In men, it causes cucks
soy milk has some phytoestrogen, far less if non gmo.cow milk has a tremendous amout of REAL estrogen and artificial drugs pumped into it.this retarded new technique of trying to scare people away from eating plants because of phyto hormones while hiding the fact that all animal products have massive amounts of real and artificial hormones that are all applicable to people.the science suggesting phyto hormones applicable is void and nobody takes plant hormones for therapy.
I believe it’s just most plant proteins in general, processed or not. Phytoestrogens seem to be part and parcel of plant based diets.
Can you describe the gastrointestinal pain? Going through something similar to that and wondering what's the issue.
you stopped eating meat, didn't sustain the enzymes necessary. You need to build back up to breaking that shit down in your gut. That is just my instinct. I did an ano run and a vegetarian run and pescatarian run. You lose the ability to process stuff if you don't do so regularly....if you simplify it this way, I'd guess this is what you are going through.
I did stop for at least 2 years in high school. Wow. Any tips rebuilding your gut health? Really could use all the help at this point.
All I'm saying is, look into it.
Even when was not vegetarian, I've always hated that lol
You're not alone, I've stayed away from all seafood for decades for similar reasons.
Purist vegans consider this junk food
I consider them junk humans.
I've literally never seen a healthy looking vegan.
Veganism is dietary communism.
It only exists when it can leech off of a capitalist system.
If you released vegans into the wild, they would die within 30-60 days.
Nice try buddy, but I'm in sick shape and only getting stronger and faster every single day.
'the fuck
I'm a vegetarian. I'm completely baffled by the idea of "turning animals vegetarian". It leads me to understand that some vegans are obsessed by their own health and never cared a smidge about animals and not utilizing them as ressources.
Congrats, you're not tarded
Yummy
That's the first I've heard of it. From what I understand cats don't get any nutritional benefit from plants, only meat, but it doesn't matter if the animals guts are full or not.
At most I can think of them eating grass to try calm upset stomachs (if they do the same as our dogs do), but that's not for nutritional reasons.
Beyond Sausage sounds like the name of a gay porno.
Or the gay porno where the main guy realises he isnt actually gay anymore...
Hunter Biden waking up from a week long high
Oddly specific
It's Mike Obama's stage name
I thought that was “Big Meat”?
Space Age gay porno.
Its quite simple - if meat is the food of kings then plant based is the food of peasants.
Although these days meat is often cheaper than other alternatives.
The alternatives have huge profit margins.
Well yes, bur the proletariat is one rank above peasants. And since bugs eat plants, they're obviously, OBVIOUSLY, one rank above in desirability.
Soy is so bad for you. If only people knew how poisonous soy is.
Wanna give a quick 2-3 point description on how bad soy is? I'm aware it's bad but don't know the details.
Soy contains tons of plant estrogen.
It is also the most GMO crop on the planet that is used as "food". Even corn doesn't come close to that level if genetic modification.
Soy also blocks your body from absorbing the good nutrients, by action inside of your digestive tract.
The best book I'm aware of on the topic is 'The Whole Soy Story'.
Thanks. It's not an issue for me, but it's good stuff to know.
Also worth mentioning that most olive oil is fake and is often blended with soy and other cheap shitty oils.
Any big name brand is usually fake. Real olive oil will usually have the date it was harvested labeled on the back. Also color and especially taste are other ways to know.
The argument that worldwide starvation continues to decline is way too simplistic. Quality matters.
Only agricultural lobbyist vampires like Monsanto are using that argument to push corn and soy. They are your enemy.
Just being a devil's advocate here, how do you feed everybody with no agricultural revolution?
One possible answer is the population is never allowed to get so big in the first place, but wouldn't you nevertheless see lots of death from hunger?
Why would I want to?
One example, joggers. Look how savage they are when well fed. Hunger worsens things like that exponentially.
On the other hand that could serve as a reason to put them down.
If not for the internet then we would regress to believing the government and the media because they are the only sources of information.
I'd be OK with getting rid of both...
This comment brought to you on THE INTERNET!
And we also wouldn’t have freely available pornography turning generations of men into sniveling perverts, either.
We have freely available knowledge now and everyone can learn new skills without having to go to a university or trade school gate keeper.
I thought I read phytoesteogens, in normal amounts, where beneficial for heart disease risk and only really bad in large amounts
My neighbors have soy crops. I ate a handful once and immediately grew tits. 1/10 would not recommend.
Life comes at you fast, I guess
Me too, my tits tripled in a week after consuming soy chunks.
Pictures or it didn’t happen.
But only if you’re a woman ...
confirmed, soy is TERRIBLE. Estrogen filled.
my friend was raised by a mother who insisted on it for health reasons and now he has permanent pepperoni nipples.
Just an anecdote, but...
Plant estrogen doesn’t effect human bodies like mammal estrogen. If you drink beer the plant estrogen from the hops is way more than you think.
Things that never happened and other made up tales
Try drinking a gallon of soy milk per day, and see what happens.
Lol, what do you think is going to happen? I’ll turn into a woman?
That makes no sensec cow’s milk is full of significantly more (real) estrogen
Soy milk is actually helpful if you have enlarged prostate. There were studies done on this if I remember. Something to do with the way it binds to the receptor on the prostate that estrogen normal binds too therefore blocking actual estrogen untake if I remember correctly.
Edit: Yep I did but keep downvoting me faggots.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5793268/
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10189040/
On and here an huge meta on the subject
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5793268/
This updated systematic review and meta-analysis provides a thorough evaluation regarding the association between soy food intake and PCa risk. Using the current pool of scientific literature, our results support the existing evidence, which indicates that total soy food intake is associated with a reduced risk of PCa (p < 0.001). This population-based evidence corroborates observations in both in vitro and in vivo studies, which have shown that soy isoflavones inhibit PCa development and growth
Turns out, I did remember right
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10189040/
Conclusions: Our study suggests that men with high consumption of soy milk are at reduced risk of prostate cancer. Possible associations between soy bean products, isoflavones and prostate cancer risk should be further investigated
https://empoweredsustenance.com/avoid-soy-milk/
Good stuff.
Not if you're referring to soy.
go to fda food allergy database and type soy
Also, they are putting soybean oil in ALL processed foods now.
Soy is not bad in normal amounts. In large amounts, like if all you ate was soy, its bad.
My naturopath says the same thing. Research cancer and soy, there is a definite link.
Soy sauce and only in moderation.
True!
No it’s not- soy is a staple in the diet of many Asian countries in the “blue zone” where people regularly live to 100. If soy was poison they would all be dead. Enough with the bro science
Asians eat fermented soy. Fermentation breaks down phytates, pesticides, and other harmful things. They do not eat raw or cooked soy.
B12 is from dirt not meat- the animals are supplemented with b12 shots at the factory farm along with their antibiotics and estrogen -
I supplement with b12 as does every vegan I know.... I have never had a nutrient deficient problem
Only people who buy into anti vegan propaganda believe vegans are dropping like flies over all these nutrient deficiencies
Couldn’t be genetic, no no, it must be the SOY.
Your argument is that soy is poison but people who eat the most soy live to be 100 so the poison doesn’t affect them because genetics ?
You can take poison and not die. Maybe it makes you weak and submissive and diminutive in stature and leads to a nation of once great warriors that is now a nation of pussy communist subjects that also live longer due to unrelated genetics. How bout that?
Sounds like you have an irrational hatred towards soy beans based on nothing more than bro science and memes
Good luck defending veganism on this forum unfortunately. So much misinformation out there and NPCs won’t listen to anything they don’t want to hear.
It’s so true. It’s ironic because they call the left NPCs ( which they are) while being the same thing they hate. The human mind is a wild thing
Indians can’t handle gambling either - but yeah Asians can’t handle dairy. Really nobody should be able to able to handle it but we adapted to
Non-Europeans and dairy is another good example. It's really great for those of us who are adapted to it, and horrible for the rest of the world.
I understand the point- I personally don’t think milk is good for anyone but it has benefits and is downright bad for Asians. Soy beans are just a bean that rednecks slander for no reason other than memes
But the Totino's pizza section is completely empty at my local stores.
They'd rather eat $1.50 cardboard pizzas than fake meat.
Totino's tastes better than that stuff, for real.
People have no problem eating fake cheese. Read the ingredients, no real cheese in those. Luckily the cheese substitute is still animal based.
Someone on wallstreetbets made like $150K on beyond meat puts bought right before they tanked after earnings. It was glorious
Lol I noticed this at Publix, they had it buy one get one free and it's just piled up, untouched. They aren't out of regular meat and things, though, but definitely no one wants this garbage.
Just demonstrates weakness of the mind and no willpower
I read the label on a vegan yogurt once. Coconut Milk thickened with corn starch. Absolutely garbage nutritionally.
All vegans eat is sugar, its short burst energy that makes them starving every hour. If I owned slaves I would want them to be vegan... Would habe to get used to bones breaking like firecrackers though
Your name got me man
Non meat food can be delicious just not the shit vegans are pushin lmao idk why they are obsessed with fake meat lol
Because deep down they crave real meat.
just like your mom
Got a salty vegan here. Cant take the fact your diet is self harming and that my fat ass could blow you over with my meaty farts.
uh im carnivore lol just like your mom
No, he’s making a your mom joke and it was funny.
Yeah they are not mentally healthy.
Like a basil pesto pasta with mushrooms and sundried tomatoes. Of course adding some diced chicken breast or salmon makes it even better.
They want to get rid of red meat due to the resources it takes to generate it for you filthy peasants.
Yeah, I'm vegetarian but it's because I don't like the taste of meat - it's annoying how they're trying to push all this fake crap that tastes like a shittier version
Just for interest sake, do you eat other animal products, or just plants (and perhaps fungi)?
Love dairy and eggs, can't do fish
Maybe if the prices were rasonable people would buy it. It's like making a fake designer purse and charging more than the authentic purse. It doesn't make sense.
Oh. What are the good brands?
Sausage is the only fake meat I'd ever consider trying, most of the flavor comes from other inclusions rather than the meat itself.
Unbelievable; dare I say impossible?
Beyond Plausibility.
That shit is also much more expensive than real meat, which is also why people probably aren't buying it.
Itd be one thing if it was a healthier alternative but in moat cases its not, usually higher sodium content
I'll take my protein powders before i'll eat fake meat.
It's all part of the Vegan/Freegan plan:
Even on sale, normal people would rather eat rice and beans
Eat your soy damnit!!
It's why it's common for people in the north and midwest to rush to the store before a big storm hits.
its expensive as all fuck and it makes you fart like non stop. And its not healthy to eat the stuff. Its heavily processed
I’ve had it. It wasn’t that bad. And if staying away from red meat is good for your health, then it’s a good alternative.
someone needs to make a meat based vegan food.
Meat based tofurkey.
Look no further
There is a reason it's called the Impossible Burger: It is Impossible to get people to eat it.
Community husbandry programs to make things self-sustaining... Time to get smart about eating happily raised animals.
I tried the KFC beyond meat yesterday. It's not great.
Oh yes they would.
Don’t pull this shit here when you all make so much fun of communism. People ate their fucking children due to communist policies.
Hunger is the best seasoning.
No one’s starving yet. By mid-February you’ll be happy to have caught a rat that you can eat.
What's wrong with rat burgers?
Even Stallones character ate the rat burger in Demolition Man after he was told it was lol
As long as you have a beer to wash it down a burger is a burger.
You could use the Beyond Disgusting to fatten the rat up.
I was all into it because I was trying to lose weight and be healthy. Then I got a b12 deficiency which wasn't any fun. Then I found out about the cultured human fetal cells they use to test flavor profiles.
Excuse me, what?
Yeah, right? I was like WTAF
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/HEK_293_cells
Supposedly they don't put it in the food they just use it to test flavorings for processed foods.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senomyx
“Beyond edible.”
Nothing more confusing than a vegan hippy purposely buying genetically modified highly processed faux meat.
It's goo.
If you want to be a vegan, carry on.
But don't be stupid and eat that GMO fake meat crap.
Follow the money, the investors and inventors were some terrible people.
The Beyond products are good and not bad for you.
299 Days is occurring in real-time.
Couldn't you offer them dry toast?
Let the liberals eat it. They need the GMO nutrition even if it does turn their hair purple. By the way, Burger King veggie burgers contain something like a ton of estrogen. Man boobs ahoy.
No one wants to eat a concoction of random non meat ingredients.
I'd rather just eat a black bean barrito with some salt and pepper than that abomination.
I'm not eating some lab grown fuzz that's been molded to look like a burger patty!
Stuff is full of chemicals and shit that’s bad for you. If you really want to be vegetarian eat fucking vegetables.
Ha Ha Fags
I noticed this at Costco even in California. When other meat was hard to find the impossible burgers were always well stocked up.
Tested positive within 28 days of slaughter.
Lol. Chill out dude. No tears over here. Your post is actually funny.
