Ugh...can we stop with the virtue signaling? They're literally just doing their jobs, just like healthcare workers, fire fighters, etc. Since when does just doing your job get you special recognition? Are we now the party of participation awards?

What'd you just say faggot? You want to stop feeling bad about going to hell for rejecting our savior? Can go fuck yourself instead

1
Judicator 1 point ago +1 / -0

I really don't think that's what was meant lmao, could be though.

Sounds to me like he was saying that we don't deserve special praise for believing in Jesus because we're all expected to.

DicerningSword -5 points ago +4 / -9

Is that True? I find people are drawn to certain occupations as an aspect of their character resonates with that job... If you work simple for material survival you we find yourself a Slave no matter what occupation you choose..

6
IAFF4TRUMP 6 points ago +6 / -0

Absolute truth. You don’t see plumbers or carpenters coming up with their own colored wrist bands and blind faith campaigns. We’re no better than anyone else who goes to work and does a job.

I would encourage everyone to support people who do good work and reject those that dance for TikTok videos on the clock. Occupation not withstanding.

That ontop most of them being illegals who go way too fucking fast. At least where i live they do 80 where its 55. Fuckin terrifying.

Id gladly support the ones doing the god damn speed limit in the correct lane but sadly thats the minority.

8
Dunkin4COVAIDS 8 points ago +10 / -2

I've worked with truckers for the last decade. I can assure you this is fairly accurate. They're a lot of illegals from across the southern border or visa workers from Africa and the Middle East. Many of them don't even speak English. There are are a lot of Americans driving as well, but collectively their average education is at the 7th grade level. They drive recklessly, speed, etc. constantly. I myself have been run off the road by multiple truck drivers being total douchebags. That and getting them to deliver their loads on time without fucking off is an exercise in futility. I've watched many of them on GPS tracking drive circles around their destination for hours for no reason at all other than to waste time. The truth of the matter is that the corps of truck drivers cause more problems than they alleviate. We need them, and they provide a valuable service, but they're not exactly the cream of the crop.

4
DrewPBalls 4 points ago +4 / -0

You’re either a broker dishing out loads to the immigrant who will haul it the cheapest, or a carrier that hires retards straight out of truck driving school. Either case you get what you pay for.

1
drmrboy 1 point ago +3 / -2

Gotta hire new drivers or you'll never get out of a driver shortage.

3
Parabelum 3 points ago +4 / -1

Driver shortage is fake news - a crisis manufactured by regulations. Raise the speed limit (a regulation) by 10mph Alter the hours of service (a regulation): -lowering the 10 hour break to 8 hours (a regulation) -raising the 11 hour drive to match the 14 hour service (a regulation) -eliminate the 70 hour rule (a regulation) Raise the gross weight limit from 80,000 to 105,000

I go from a maximum of 4900 miles a week to 7850 I go from a maximum of 50000 pounds to 75000 pounds

50000 pounds x 4900 miles = 245Million maximum units of productivity 75000 pounds x 8960 miles = 672Million maximum units of productivity

PS: Stay the fuck out of the left lane and stop trying to block people when they need to get over

3
Kamalas_a_Bitch 3 points ago +3 / -0

I find that commercial truck drivers are the most courteous out there. They might take a couple miles to pass another truck, but rarely do I see them just chilling in the left lane. Often I see the truck they are trying to pass being a jerk and not letting them.

Most other drivers are crazy lane weaving tail gating assholes.

2
bigmasshole 2 points ago +2 / -0

If there are more than two lanes, they aren't allowed in the left lane, in general, as far as I know.

1
Kamalas_a_Bitch 1 point ago +1 / -0

In general yeah, varies by state

1
TehAgent 1 point ago +1 / -0

Agree and disagree.

Yes, most other 4 wheelers are idiots; either like you describe OR camping in a lane they shouldnt be in, balls deep in their phone or whacked out on their blood pressure meds.

Ill usually just hang around in the right lane if theyre doing the speed limit. Leave plenty of room for merging traffic to zipper in, etc. The usual highway I drive in is three lanes for most of it, so once in a while Ill be in the middle if the right is moving very slowly. If I have to be in the left I just go as fast as traffic is and dont hold things up. Ill get over as soon as I can and slow down to that lane's speed when its reasonable.

MOST trucks I see are just beeboppin along not bothering anyone. Thats why I run defense for them. The sheer danger of the ragers stands out more than a passenger car though. And there is that one section I constantly see it in. I got caught up in it once; I saw the truck trying to block someone out so I let them over in front of me. He then turned his rage on me for no reason other than he 'lost' and didnt get to block them out. Theres another stretch where they will take forever to pass and then not get over. They'll wait until you start to pass on the left and THEN get over, to run you off the road. Ot happens about 1/3 times I go through there. Im talking a mile of space between them and the truck they just passed - extremely safe to get back over.

2
Parabelum 2 points ago +6 / -4

You're an idiot and don't even know it. That's my road fuck head. They're called Interstates for a reason - they are built under the Interstate Commerce Clause to facilitate Interstate Commercial Transportation of Freight - that is, TRUCKING. They are conceived, planned, engineered and constructed specifically to support trucks - everything from the 18" cement slab needed to support loads up to 150,000 pounds (not your 1800 pound car) - to 12' wide lanes to support my 8'6" width (not your (5' skinny dick car) to overhead bridge heights to give clearance for a minimum of 13'6" (not your 5' car) and they are bought and paid for by my $40,000/year fuel tax bill (not your $200/year fuel tax bill). The LEFT lane only exists to let a lighter, faster moving truck pass a heavier, slower moving truck to prevent a 250 truck backup that brings everything to a screeching halt. Cars don't need a dedicated passing lane, you can pass each other on a two lane road, we can't. If you're really that pissed off about my slow truck impeding your travel (something a whiney little pussy cant and wont do anything to try and stop me from doing, cuz if you try I'll crush you inside your coke can car), I suggest you either

  1. Slow the hell down, stop speeding, if you weren't going 20 over the limit you would have never caught up to me in the first place.
  2. Take the scenic route. The shortest distance between two places is a straight line, and that's almost never the Interstate. It's too expensive for trucks to stop and go at all the intersections, because of how much fuel it takes us to get moving, but that's not true for cars. You can get 90% of the places you want to go faster on a two-lane road and spend half as much on gas.
  3. Take a deep breath and chill. I'm driving 750 miles today, you're driving 30. At 90 mph the whole way that takes 20 minutes, 60mph would only take 30 minutes. Slowing down from 90 to 70 for 1 minute while I finish my pass (something you think you're entitled to, but somehow I'm not) only delays you getting where you were going by 10 seconds.

See what I mean about truck drivers being a bunch of angry little road raging babies? This comment perfectly demonstrates it.

Some cliff notes for ya:

  • In most states including mine, trucks are not to ever be in the left lane outside of emergencies. Its state law.

  • I actually do take the shortest distance which is damn near a straight line. Its still 45 miles each way. It used to be about 300-600 miles a day when I did field work.

  • In my state, trucks have a lower speed limit than cars. We're going to catch up.

  • You wont do shit - I 100% guarantee youre all mouth. Just shut your fat ass up and get the fuck out of the way.

  • Don't be a faggot princess passing. Governor wars where yours is set at 68.8 and the poor guy next to you is set at 68.9 is fucking retarded, just like you. Thats why you drive a truck. Not smart enough to do anything else.

  • Its not built solely for trucks. Its built for commerce. I do over 10,000,000$ worth of business annually. Thats just my office.

  • Fuel taxes dont fund the interstate highways - theyre just a small portion of funding. Fuel taxes fund local roads. States build and maintain the highways to federal standards.

  • History lesson time, faggot: Eisenhowed appointed General Clay to plan and build the highways. The purpose was military logistics, but specifically included 'more cars' and 'the economy'. It wasnt built FOR trucks. It was built to accommodate them.

Enjoy pissing in a bottle, shitting in a paper bag and not bathing for days, faggot. You literally smell like ass every time you go into a shop. Dont worry, Ill keep running defense for your kinfolk though. Im not a retarded asshole like you. A few of you are actually decent human beings.

Dont bother replying. Youve been educated but likely wont accept it. Further communication with an angry man child isnt worth the time. Just think about it...let it sink in. Let it pop into your head next time youre pissing in a bottle, or throwing a literal sack of shit out the window.

1
Parabelum 1 point ago +1 / -0

Classic demagogue: If I respond I prove I'm stubborn and you're right. If I don't respond I accept your "education" and you're right. Your "rebuttal" is nothing but personal attacks (except the line about Eisenhower and Clay - that was a good point. Primary purpose is military personnel supplies and equipment and secondary Commercial Trucking, tertiary personal commuting vehicles - you are right, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong. You may as well have written China is in Asia - a fact which is also true, but doesn't resolve the argument.)

As to your state law: Fuck it. I have a right to drive on the roads (Liberty - Skt: Leyes Behii Erut - The Legal Right to go by way of the road), 7th amendment protection to equal protection under the law, 9th amendment protection against prioritizing your right to travel over mine, but really, its that stubborn old 4th amendment and Probable Cause that makes your state law prohibiting trucks from the left lane a non-starter. Five times in 20 years I've been pulled over for driving in the left hand lane: The two "citations" were canned by the county prosecutors smart enough not to touch it with a ten foot pole; the one "warning" that means nothing and did nothing; and two "commercial inspection referrals" that were canned by the DOT upon appeal as a violation of due process. Not one was ever taken to a Judge, and none ever will. The left lane is part of a public road, and I cannot be trespassed from a public place.

As for not being smart enough to do anything else - you should be ashamed of yourself for it even occurring to you to write that. You couldn't possibly know what I am capable of. Aside from being completely ad-hominem, everyone is capable of doing basic tasks like cleaning bathrooms, mowing lawns, flipping burgers, digging a hole. One must assume you mean smart enough to do anything else "worthwhile", in the sense of being personally or financially rewarding. But I'll humor you - while I could be lying of course, and you can dismiss it if you want to, my IQ is tested at 140, I scored 1580 on the SAT, and a 98 on the ASVAB. My last job before setting out on the road was Executive Sales Manager for a plywood company, before that I refinanced mortgages at a bank, before that I was an estimator for a contracting firm, before that I was a Database Administrator for an construction company, before that I managed a Radio Shack (I miss those!) while putting myself through Indiana University Kelly School of Business.

I have my choice of thousands of jobs and ten thousand companies who would be happy to have me. How can it be so hard for you to believe I just love driving a truck? But if I had a heart attack tomorrow, and I couldn't pass the physical anymore and I lost my CDL, I'd probably just take this $800,000 pile of money, go buy a farm and grow corn.

Fun fact ive purposely held up the left lane for truckers so they can yield for someone merging on an on ramp. Drive defensively and leave nothing to chance

2
TehAgent 2 points ago +2 / -0

Merging traffic is required to merge safely. Traffic on the highway is not required to yield.

People like you fuck up the traffic flow for everyone and create backups.

2
BringBackBroke46 2 points ago +2 / -0

Agree in theory. In reality, it isn’t always possible. Especially if your an 80k pound semi trying to merge off a short uphill ramp.

1
TehAgent 1 point ago +1 / -0

In this situation, which I see a lot - especially at my last exit, I dont move over and hole up the entire highway. I just let off the gas and make a gap for a zipper merge.

Exactly like youre supposed to.

2
BringBackBroke46 2 points ago +2 / -0

I agree, no need to tie up the left lane. I suspect the original poster was likely saying that if he is in the left next to a semi on the right and a truck is trying to merge on the far right, he’ll fall back to let the truck on the right take the left lane. All so the merging truck has a place to go.

Sometimes that is perfectly safe and needed. It’s also defensive on the part of the car in case the truck were to get pushed out of his lane onto the car. Don’t know if it’s technically legal but I generally don’t see a problem.

I suppose every situation is different though.

1
TehAgent 1 point ago +1 / -0

Ok; that makes more sense than jumping over and suddenly/intentionally slowing everyone down.

Remember, everything you buy from the grocery store, every item you have purchased was on a truck at one point.

College vs. trucking, I've done both. I have a degree in chemistry, and I make more money driving a truck. Had to get my CDL when I was on a HAZMAT team, and I found that I really enjoy driving, and there's less paperwork.

3

No time for a cigar, Gotta roll.

2
CrankHandler1991 2 points ago +2 / -0

I giggled at the truth of this...then remembered that Ive literally wasted 6 hours waiting to roll today because although I could have delivered early tonight, my next load won't be ready until 4 am and if I start too early ill have to waste clock time waiting for it...

I'm wasting time so that I don't have to waste time. The fuck is this job? Where's my cigar?

No, they're not. They're employees doing a totally unskilled job that they get paid for. Heros, lmfao.

3
Parabelum 3 points ago +3 / -0

No thanks is necessary citizen. This $140,000 a year paycheck is all the thanks I need. You are absolutely right.

1
Verrerogo 1 point ago +1 / -0

It is a hard, boring job, requiring tenacity, that involves being entrusted with valuable things and being responsible for them getting where they are supposed to go.

No, it is not unskilled. The big rigs are not as easy to drive as cars. They require a different license. The guy is often far from help if something breaks. He has to fix it himself.

Everything we use and eat comes on trucks. We know it will be there. If it gets off the container ships, that is.

We count on these men, and depend on them much more than we know. The job is much harder than is understood.

But yes, every job is an important job. Every single one. Which is I think what you are saying.

2
CrankHandler1991 2 points ago +2 / -0

Following a preset laser designated pattern is decades easier to program than what trucks need to do.

3
Parabelum 3 points ago +3 / -0

You're fooling yourself. EVEN IF they could program a truck to make the moral decision of continuing straight and running over the kid who ran out of the road, veering left into a crowd of teenagers or veering right into a group of businessmen. EVEN IF the trucks wouldn't be looted because it cant drive away if someone is standing in front of it, EVEN IF the navigation system of the entire network couldn't be hacked to make every truck in the country suddenly veer left into oncoming traffic, EVEN IF they could fuel themselves, EVEN IF they didn't go blind in the slightest snow, they still cannot and never ever, nay not even one teenie weenie tiny little bit of ever possess the legal cosignatory power to sign a bill of lading. They can automate the truck all they like. It still needs a driver. It's not like you see any stage coaches running around, or camels bringing silk from the orient. I'm comfy thanks. But EVEN IF they do figure it all out - I'll buy 20 and run them from my laptop on the beach.

I’ll thank truckers when they BLOCKADE THE BLUE CITIES THAT HAVE VAXX PASSES.

I’m not giving any thanks to any industry that isn’t ready to throw its weight behind freedom BEFORE it’s just a labor dispute for themselves.

Major trucking companies SHOULD be taking a stand against vaxx segregation - BUT THEY ARENT. Not instituting it isn’t a stand - it’s a basic starting point.

If the truckers had started the blockade months ago BEFORE they were about to lose their jobs it would have made a DIFFERENCE. They didn’t. Now it’s they’re necks so they care.

If you refuse to fight for your neighbors freedom until your own is directly in peril then you get what you deserve.

Fuck these guys. These buttholes don't know how to fucking drive. I get it, you can't make it up hills like a car going 80mph, you SHOULD be in the right fucking lane then, AT ALL TIMES. They really should have their own one lane highway to travel. Between these guys and the q-tips driving 50, those are the causes of 90% of motor vehicle accidents (not including those dumb fuck drunks)

Sauce that 90% please. Me thinks you're off by - lots. NHTSA seems to report that of the 5.4 million highway accidents, only 119,000 even involved trucks putting the number of highway accidents INVOLVING trucks at 2.2%. Having trouble finding data on how many of the 119,000 accidents involving a truck were caused by the trucker. Certainly more than zero because of single vehicle accidents, but less than 100% because 4 wheelers do some STOOOOOPID shit. If we split it and say around half it looks like you're off on your estimate of 90% by about 89%.

Not that the truck is involved, meaning the slow rate of speed. It's the difference in speeds that cause the majority of highway accidents. Most people drive 70-75mph. Trucks tend to go slower, and travel in the passing lane, when they have absolutely no business being in that lane, EVER.

Driving is LITERALLY my business. I agree with you on principal that nobody (truck or car) should travel in the passing lane. Complete your pass and move over.

Again - sauce that difference in speeds cause the majority of highway accidents - You're dead wrong. You're making an authoritarian claim of a fact, convenient to your argument if it were true, but it isn't, and you can't demonstrate that its true. That is the very definition of a post-hoc rationalization. It is a logical fail.

Google that shit. Check the National Highway Traffic Safety Agency website NHTSA.gov.org, or your State Highway Department or your insurance company or something for fuck's sake. Every single one will tell you the leading cause of accidents is:

  1. Distracted Driving, 2) Speeding, 3) Drunk Driving, 4) Reckless Driving, 5) Rain Trucks driving in the left hand lane, or differences in speeds don't make the list when the list include the top 10, 25, 50 or 100 causes of highway accidents.

My opinion is the over-arching defense from all the leading causes of highway accidents is simply leaving plenty of following distance. But that's my opinion, its supported by many studies, but not definitive proof that failure to leave sufficient following distance is the underlying cause of all the leading causes of highway accidents.
