They are raiding the train yards and stealing all the loot while tossing the boxes on the ground.

As long as they pay taxes on these items.

Yeah, but what is confusing is that there isn't more unwanted "loot" than boxes.

90% of porch pirates end up with shit no one wants.

This was actually on the news, a few months late of course, but they said there are boxes and 😂 Covid tests all over the place, apparently they aren’t concerned about coof.

New Today: My colleague @CBSLAKristine spoke with @UnionPacific about train theft and they forwarded her this letter they sent to LA County DA in December. UP says they arrested > 100 people in last 3 months but many were fined and released within 24 hours.

I am an American Hussein 0bowel refugee in Asia. (Not CHY-na.) it would be nearly perfect over here, if only hamburgers were a little cheaper, and we didn’t have to wear these goofy masks for fear of nonverbal shaming. Which I totally could do. But, I’ll take it as a trade off for zero to no violence, zero to no trash everywhere, zero to no looting, zero to no out of the closet fags, zero to little people with communist sympathies, and zero to no fatties.

31
NotMyGovernor 31 points ago +31 / -0

Only a few places they’d legit be economically worth it.

DC<->Philly<->NYC<->Boston is pretty much the only one.

16
Dystopiaslayer 16 points ago +16 / -0

that area is so small geographically. trains overall is perfect in that area. trains don't work for passengers everywhere else. there is no infrastructure like hotels and other shit to support passengers getting off of every station. look at japan and south korea's train infrastructure and especially the infrastructure to support passengers at train stations. very very well-done and only northeast USA can be close to that level.

i am always wondering how people travel from the train stations outside northeast america to anywhere they want in the city or town they arrived at. i am sure it is a pain in the ass just getting to a rental car place because most train stations on amtrak sure as fuck don't have a public bus system.

3
DJTrump 3 points ago +3 / -0

I'd had a lot of questions overseas about our lack of passenger rail system. I just tell them America is a big place, a lot of wide open places, and I like driving my own vehicle anyways. No other country has anywhere close to our expansive highway system. I heard a stat recently that the nation with the 2nd best highway system is only 15% of ours.

2
Neophilus 2 points ago +2 / -0

That and monthly commuter rail prices in the Boston are are $400+ with parking factored in and the ride still takes over an hour

1
newrandomperson 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's the whole issue. America was set up for cars (the automobile companies kinda had a BIG say about that). And so, policy in America was created around the assumption that cars were most important, encouraging more people to buy cars, which encouraged more policy around city planning to accommodate cars, and the cycle continued to this point. You cannot really function without a car in North America. I actually don't like it, having travelled around places that you don't need cars in. But, some people here will defend it to the death.

5
___HERO___ 5 points ago +5 / -0

San Diego - LA - San fransicko

1
NotMyGovernor 1 point ago +1 / -0

San Fran could definitely use a high speed rail from market street to San Jose through Mountain View. That would be a serious economic boom for the area.

And another through Fremont.

It should probably get another high speed rail through Berkeley to Sacramento.

For LA / San Diego high speed rail probably wouldn’t beat just flying.

2
dukeofdoorcounty 2 points ago +2 / -0

Dallas -austin-San Antonio would be perfect. People could live in Waco and commute to austin or Dallas

1
NotMyGovernor 1 point ago +1 / -0

Problem is by the time you drive to the station, park, wait to get on the train, actually get on the train and get to ie Dallas you could have just drove there.

Plus now that you’re there you don’t have a car, instead of just driving to your location.

In Philly, NYC, and somewhat Boston and DC having a car is a major inconvenience, there is no where to park. So it’s not actually worth while to drive in.

A Philly<->NYC high speed rail alone would allow people to live in philly and work in NYC. It would be a real economic boom.

1
dukeofdoorcounty 1 point ago +1 / -0

Theoretically I would take a Lyft to the station. If the rail station is in Georgetown it would make more sense than downtown Austin

13
Maga2020Maga2020 13 points ago +13 / -0

They simply don't make sense in the US.

7
akira2501 7 points ago +7 / -0

I am jealous of European car carriers though. Drive your car on the train, wait, drive your car off the train. There are tons of routes I'd take then.

4
anatidaephobia 4 points ago +4 / -0

The English - French canal may be the only place that have one of those. They figured it'd be too risky with a tunnel that long if there where a crash so it just made more sense to load all the cars on a train. Excellent idea tho that should be used more, even in Europe.

Sweden - Denmark is half tunnel and half bridge and has both a highway and high speed train tracks.

1
dukeofdoorcounty 1 point ago +1 / -0

There's a mountain pass tunnel in Austria that does this. We drove the car right onto a flatbed car, got a seat in the passenger section, and kicked back

4
Dystopiaslayer 4 points ago +7 / -3

so are the elon musk-fags here going to disavow their messiah because he is all in with the 'muh hyperlink' crappy trains?

2
MAGA-Man 2 points ago +2 / -0

Environmentalist will block trains at the county, state and federal courts. Studies on studies. Property for new lines is hard to get once people find out it’s in demand they Jack up the cost. Read the cost of 1 mile of track in NYC cost over 5 billion dollars.

Yea there’s no way we can get bullet trains in the US, unless they destroy out fuel market and make trains the cheaper option like in atlas shrugged. I think that is the demonrats strategy.

2
MobileDev4Trump 2 points ago +2 / -0

Japan sues the families of suicides who delay trains.

28
ReformedSJW 28 points ago +28 / -0

Socialists LOVE trains. When you have a car you can go wherever you want. In a train you can choose locations they want you to go. In a car you make your own rules, in a train they can force you to mask vax or whatever to go places.

13
Kamalas-Snatch 13 points ago +13 / -0

And you have to share the space with a stranger, possibly bumping elbows, or smelling someone’s farts, or music of random variety played from a Bluetooth speaker, also watch your bags! Don’t want to lose anything! Probably wishing you could have a smoke about now... nope! None of that...

Oh and your 2 minutes late so the train is gone, and next train is in a hour. That will be 6.50 for the small coffee sir....

5
anatidaephobia 5 points ago +5 / -0

Loud kids in every train car running around restless, no alcohol in the restaurant car even tho they advertise that exact thing. And if you're riding in the winter, better have your big jacket made out of bear fur and a Russian hat that covers most of your head, because at any time the power could disappear or a switch may have frozen forcing the train to stop.

Lot's of animals on the tracks that gets hit so they have to stop and clean up the blood so leftists don't gets offended once the train rolls into nearest libtard city.

Even tho they're moving twice as fast as you can drive, you'd usually arrive faster if you just drive. Trains only makes sense if you live close to a central hub and want to travel to the downtown of another city.

even in the first picture, can you imagine how warped the democrat mind is, they think a beautiful coastal view is improved by some industrial disneyland looking mono-rail, as opposed to the natural beauty?

Reminds me of how they ruin the beautuful California deserts (previously some of the most beautuful landscapes and nature on the planet) by building miles and miles of ugly wind turbines, and erecting endless huge solar panel installations.

Its like they need to put their mark on everything, and shove their stupid green new deal monstrosities on everyone, like it or not.

3
NotProgCensored 3 points ago +3 / -0

Where's the bad part of town? On the other side of the tracks. The rails run through shitholes. I rode Amtrak once and saw a lot of shitty back yards.

2
YT45 2 points ago +2 / -0

It’s not even coastal. The Bullet Train To Nowhere was going to run parallel to Highway 99 through the eastern Central Valley. Where nobody would ever use it. And before you ask, that was a feature, not a bug.

YT45 7 points ago +7 / -0

The bullet train project was nothing more than a government-sanctioned Ponzi scam. Hundreds of billions of state funds paid out to shell companies owned by the husbands of Diane Feinstein and Nancy Pelosi over 15 years for construction that never even started. All for a mythical high-speed train that nobody would ever use even if it was built (Bakersfield to Modesto, yeah, no thanks). They finally threw up a dozen concrete pillars (built by lowest-bid subcontractors, of course) right before the whole thing got cancelled, just so they could point to a token amount of work completed in case fraud charges were ever filed.

Meanwhile, California’s dams were cracking, power grid decaying, roads full of potholes, fire protection budget nowhere near keeping up with the need, and schools graduating 12th graders who can’t read or write at a kindergarten level. The French sent motherfuckers to the guillotine for far less back in the day.

1
BoomShtick 1 point ago +1 / -0

On top of that, the states unfunded pension liability is going to create a statewide Detroit.

2
YT45 2 points ago +2 / -0

Mine is one of those unfunded pensions. They always told us that CalPERS was bombproof. Turns out they were lying their ass off the whole time. I’m luckier than most, though, in that my Dad worked for the same department, and when I was still dazzled by how cool it was to be a 19-year-old firefighter, he met with the personnel clerk and got an independent retirement account set up for me outside of PERS, so at least I’ll still have something when it inevitably implodes.

Looking at this whole mess, I see what Thomas Jefferson was talking about when he said a little rebellion was periodically healthy and necessary. Those fucks did this in plain sight with zero consequences (kinda like the election). They really should be made examples of, of the “pour encourager l’autre” variety, if ya know what I mean.

2
Eu-is-socialist 2 points ago +2 / -0

CA could have bought every homeless person in CA (160,000 of them) a $600,000 house.

And that would have been just as bad.

1

So an extra big cardboard box? Because that’s jump change in urban cities for a house

1
anatidaephobia 1 point ago +2 / -1

Build cheap apartments instead then and give them a steady paid low wage job to pass time, like picking trash, packing grocery bags, or anything useful really. As long as they're busy working they won't have time for crime or drugs so in the long term it's gotta be cheaper.

Kind of like the rehabilitation in Norwegian prisons, but before any crime is committed. But then I guess there won't be enough jobs for lawyers and "social workers", which is pretty much what many libtards tries to become.

3
henri_derelicte 3 points ago +3 / -0

The very first thing a California politician does with any kind of "earmarked" tax increase is to spend it on something else, namely: social programs, illegals and themselves.

Back in 1990, they even put a measure on the ballot that would've required anyone who'd ever been a resident of the state to begin paying state income tax whether they still lived there or not.

They were giddy thinking about the billions in revenue they'd be raking in until someone had to remind them that we fought a war over taxation without representation.

California will never have a Japanese style train service until they first find a good length of rope, a tree, and their nearest socialist politician.

Look at the demographics and culture of Japan. Japan does not allow third world shitholers to illegally enter their country and take root with all of their families and problems. They also have no Communist fuckhats that promise to steal from native Japanese to provide them with free government handouts and income. So they,as a nation have the resources to develop projects like high speed rail service.
