I cant believe people would open up a business on MLK Jr. Blvd. Except maybe a pawn shop or Popeye's chicken. If you want to make money on your business, setting up shop on MLK Jr Blvd seems like financial suicide.
I once stopped at a pawnshop just off the MLK Jr Expressway in Louisville, they wanted $500 for a used Glock 22. The stereotypes couldn’t be more true. They also wanted $1800 for a 44mag Henry Big Boy, which was why I went there. But when I saw the price, I noped right out. This was around 2014.
They wouldn’t budge on the Henry. Told them I could buy a new one for half of that. They told me to go do that.
Don’t think it was negotiation pricing. I think it was exploitation prices for the, achem, local low-IQ population. Which is fine by me, if someone is dumb enough to pay them $500 for a used Glawk Fohtay or $1800 for a used $800 rifle, great, more power to them. Just don’t see too many gangbangers doing drivebys with lever actions.
Pawn shops do have a use. My Dad owned an RG revolver. RG was a gun manufacturer known for making very low quality and cheap (why my Dad owned one) guns with a reputation for the cylinder blowing out. A gun store owner told him the best way to get rid of it was to pawn it for as much money he can and leave it there. I think he got a C-note for it. Now when I see someone mention buying a gun from a pawn show, I think of that RG that someone could have bought.
That's an insane price on that Henry. I bought a Henry Big Boy .357 a year ago for $700. I also can't imagine that being a huge seller on MLKJr Boulevard.
Go explore downtown Chicago and get a cheap gun from Kiwan for like $25. He will thank you and as a bonus the gun will already have that nasty serial number filed off.
My uncle used to say you got the best ribs from the guys in the hood that cooked them over an old grate using wood that the dogs pissed on for a fire. This was way before everyone got crazy about germs.
About 15 years ago a bunch of us went to Sylvia's at the corner of MLK and Malcom X. Excellent soul food, chicken and greens. If I had the chance, I would nope out now.
GW signed the 1794 Slave Trade Act, which restricted U.S. participation in the trafficking of human cargo. All of our early presidents eroded institutionalized slavery in the US for the goal of abolishing it after their term was over.
I agree. That dude should have been shot down. But police have to be careful, nobody wants to be the next Derek Chauvin looking at decades in prison as an ex-police officer.
PCP is especially big in the areas around MLK blvd. for some reason street blacks love the worst of all drugs. dreading when meth hits as big in the ghetto as crack/PCP is.
Yep. He accomplished nothing except piss people off and erode freedom of association.
If anyone thinks race relations improved because the government got involved, they're retarded. Only thing they did right was successfully get credit for something that was happening organically anyway.
What was eye opening for me, is how I was basically born into a world where it was established that MLK was some amazing community leader, a great man, a compassionate folk hero.
And I didn't really have any data to believe otherwise. Because all around me were streets and bridges named after him, statues put up, inspirational quotes and photos.
Then, the george floyd fiasco happened, and a crack head thug overdosing on drugs and dying in the street resulted all of the same. Golden casket funerals, choirs praising the heavens, statues erected all over the fucking place, murals erected, street art everywhere, people saying he was deserving of sainthood.
Now, after that nonsense, I can never believe any so called "community leaders" or folk heros ever again, if I wasn't there to witness and judge for myself if they were a good or bad person.
I pretty much figured as much after seeing all that shit go down. One of the first thoughts I formed and pondered on for a few days, was exactly that.
After seeing how.... just untruthful.... everybody was with floyd, how they paraded him around as a fucking hero, erecting statues and crying about how beautiful a person he was yadda yadda,..
I just had to sit and think about how weak people fucking NEED one of their own to be some hero, just so they can have something to believe, no matter if they have to make it all up and pull it out of their asses.
And that's what happened with floyd. A bunch of lowlife scum, crack dealing, prostituting, welfare recipient scum wanted to have "one of their own" as some heroic figure, pure and angelic, to worship, so floyd came along and gave them a martyr.
That's when I realized, the same shit had to have happened with MLK. I had been lied to my entire life.
Which I of course already knew, and have for most of my adult life, that everything you see in this nation is a FUCKING LIE. But it just stood out to me that MLK was another blatant example.
Fucking every goddamned thing we see around us is a cardboard cutout, propped up by profit margins and social justice victimhood, nowhere near reality. It's all a fucking lie, nothing is what it seems, and we've all been gaslit for I don't know how many fucking generations now.
I'm painfully aware of all of this, and have been for some time.
We're legitimately on par with what 1990s and early 2000s America saw North Korea as being. After the 2010s, we stopped seeing North Korea like that, because it became forbidden to shit on communism.
Whatever the media, social media, academia, and even just people in positions of authority/power say about a person, an institution, an organization or even an ideology, it's overwhelmingly likely that it's the complete opposite in reality.
Clown world basically means up is down, down is up, right is wrong.
So when the media trashes on someone, I now take the default stance that the person likely doesn't deserve it. When they praise someone, I start asking myself how that individual is a piece of shit.
The same with any cause, event, organization that's talked about in history books/academia. If they say something was terrible and horrendous, there's a good chance there is a whole different story out there that tells a different reality, where that event might have been bad, yes, but they're neglecting to tell you the worse thing that was happening that took place to get to that point.
If someone in a corporate leadership board says something is good for us, and we need to do it, I automatically assume now that the opposite is true, that it's absolutely a dogshit deal for us, and we're about to get fucked in the ass.
Our whole society is being run by thieves and liars.
Hitler was a twisted dude and still fought a massive war of aggression on Europe. Maybe he did have some good intentions somewhere, but I'd have a hard time saying that the Germans were doing something good in WWII.
Yeah. There was a woman before her, I don’t remember her name, but she was pregnant and was told to get out of her seat and she said no. They didn’t use her as a symbol for their movement because she wasn’t good looking enough, and a few months later Rosa Parks happened
Per the only docs released for the Kennedy assassination, they tried 11 times before finding a bus that made her sit in the back. It was also the people in it, not the driver himself.
He died for the dream of a color-blind society and would be horrified at what the state of the left has become. Hyper-conscious racists who seek to divide Americans. His Boondocks speech is probably pretty close - https://youtu.be/QHCSL-AKd3w
Just like Juneteenth. It’s another holiday for black people that the government gives themselves a paid day off for. Meanwhile all the black people are working
In Lansing, MI, they changed a street originally named after a civil war general to MLK Jr. BLVD. Years later they changed Main St. to Malcom X Street. The corner where those two meet there is a gas station that is constantly robbed. I can't imagine why. :P
There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.
My manager pretty much told me that she doesn't care if I take the holidays that are company suggested if I'd rather use them on another date. We're a global company and people outside of the US work today, so I said fuck it, I'll work. I have no reason to celebrate MLK. Nice and peaceful day too since everyone else is taking a crappy January day off. Maybe I'll use the day on June 14th to celebrate Trump's birthday instead.
When I lived in Chicago, the street named "division street" apparently was created to divide the city into white and non-white areas. Now the place is much more diverse, but thats because Cabrini Green and the other projects have been razed. I like your data
I know a lot about Chicago history, but I’ve never heard that explanation for Division St.‘s namesake.
However, they had to get rid of Cabrini Green because it was only a mile away from some of Chicago’s nicest neighborhoods. Not a good look to have some of the nation’s most notorious housing projects so close to parts of the city worth giving a shit about
There are many problems with no simple fix. Was it right that people in wealthier neighborhoods were dealing with crime? Absolutely not. A heavier police presence in and around the projects wasn’t the answer either, because the gangbangers living in said projects were willing to shoot at police officers. And if the police responded proportionately and injured/killed someone, the risk of violent protests followed. The projects themselves were rapidly decaying, with graffiti and fire damage being commonplace. The trash chutes were unusable because they were filled with trash. And the land the projects occupied was becoming more valuable since it was becoming surrounded by nicer areas.
So the best answer to get rid of those problems was to demolish the housing projects, open up the area to market rate development, and move the people who needed subsidized/free housing elsewhere.
it's disappointing to see so many so called conservatives going for social media and establishment brown nose points w their homages to MLK....guy was a socialist at best and a Bolshevik plant
reminds me of the fried chicken place named after 0bama in 08. in harlem i think. pretty quickly changed name after publicity..probably a naive african/arab/oriental immigrant.
My head of HR at a fortune 200 company is a man. But I think he barely qualifies. Kind of a faggot. They put up gay pride flags at the company HQ. And we have a diversity group/club/thingy for every race/gender under the sun. They told us to spend our day "off" doing MLK stuff. Lol. No.
The legacy of "doctor" King, a plagiarist, serial philanderer, fraudster and racist pimp, lives on to its full potential on the streets named after him.
I got a bit lost in LA one time and missed my exit off a freeway. Decided to just immediately get off at the next offramp to turn around....as soon as i got to the stop sign there was another sign on the other side of the road pointing right that said "to east los Angeles". Guess which way I went....
Ever watch the boondocks? There's an episode where MLK Jr. Wakes up from his coma, tells the black community they should be ashamed of themselves and drops an n bomb.
Many years ago, I was driving near North Omaha area. I looked up and saw Malcolm X Street and the area looked just like you are probably imagining right now.
It's funny, I've been to so many cities in the US, and this is true for all of them.
Negotiating prices is fun.
I imagine they were also motivated to make cash sales for those who couldnt pass the background check
Drug money.
Also possible
Money laundering. They don’t actually want to sell anything. They just need inventory to “rotate”
Pawn shops do have a use. My Dad owned an RG revolver. RG was a gun manufacturer known for making very low quality and cheap (why my Dad owned one) guns with a reputation for the cylinder blowing out. Now when I see someone mention buying a gun from a pawn show, I think of that RG that someone could have bought.
We used to say RG stood for Real Garbage.
I was looking for a gun in the 80s. I saw an RG 44 magnum, for 100$.
It looked like a comedy prop, it was so HUGE! I noped.
rent a guns.probably repawned 4x that month.
That's an insane price on that Henry. I bought a Henry Big Boy .357 a year ago for $700. I also can't imagine that being a huge seller on MLKJr Boulevard.

Lol I wish I could upvote this more than once.
thx nnice to be appreciated!
The primary business is selling drugs and loan sharking cash
I would eat that
sho nuf
My uncle used to say you got the best ribs from the guys in the hood that cooked them over an old grate using wood that the dogs pissed on for a fire. This was way before everyone got crazy about germs.
To be fair, a Raisin’ Canes or KFC would work too.
fried chicken tastes better when it's made on MLK Jr Blvd change my mind
Damnit, now I need some Bojangles.
KFC and Bojangles also have good biscuits.
Can confirm. Questionable looking kitchen= tasty
As long it’s named after a black dude! S Cooper St in Arlington, TX is Fried Chicken Central
Not at a chain restaurant. If it's a family run thing, sure.
Stop noticing things racist.

I agree. That dude should have been shot down. But police have to be careful, nobody wants to be the next Derek Chauvin looking at decades in prison as an ex-police officer.
Man these cops really sucks.
they are fighting Donkey Kong on meth with strict ROE that doesn't allow them to de-escalate. And half of them were women, lol.
PCP is especially big in the areas around MLK blvd. for some reason street blacks love the worst of all drugs. dreading when meth hits as big in the ghetto as crack/PCP is.
They also mix formaldehyde in with their blunts too. Then you got the Lean crap.
jesus fucking christ..!
Fun things I learned in a prior life working at Probation and Parole!
MLK's legacy has been completely manufactured through years of indoctrination and propaganda.
Fun fact: Rosa Parks was a longtime member of the NAACP and her getting kicked from the bus was planned for months.
Rosa Parks was the family friendly reboot of Claudette Colvin, without the teenage pregnancy sub plot.
MLK himself was intentionally propped up too. They swept the plagiarism and hookers under the rug.
I put my hookers six feet under, not under the rug.
Yep. He accomplished nothing except piss people off and erode freedom of association.
If anyone thinks race relations improved because the government got involved, they're retarded. Only thing they did right was successfully get credit for something that was happening organically anyway.
yup, both commies...loved his white hookers especially.equal opportunity serial adulterer
Amazingly, drunk history tells this story pretty well. With comedy!
She was pregnant with a white man's baby too
What was eye opening for me, is how I was basically born into a world where it was established that MLK was some amazing community leader, a great man, a compassionate folk hero.

You also have to look at it from the other direction..... What does all media say about Donald j Trump?
Oh I'm absolutely aware.
What I've come to believe is this, more or less:
Whatever the media, social media, academia, and even just people in positions of authority/power say about a person, an institution, an organization or even an ideology, it's overwhelmingly likely that it's the complete opposite in reality.

People are generally retarded
So many people want to be the next George Floyd. They want a paycheck, or for their family to get a paycheck, and for the fame.
🎵 Everybody wants to be Hank Williams,
But nobody wants to die 🎵

Ehhh... MLK Jr. advocated for some race-based Affirmative Action programs and some race-blind Affirmative Action programs.
Boondocks keepin it real
is that steve harvey?
It's funny because it's true, ask Chris Rock.
I'm not going to get Reginald Denny'd because of my GPS
Reginald Denny now says he doesn't hold a grudge against the community that did that to him, but then keep in mind he's severely brain damaged
I wonder if he got pressured to take that bullshit stance of his
No time off work, just lies from execs about what MLK stood for.
Just like Juneteenth. It’s another holiday for black people that the government gives themselves a paid day off for. Meanwhile all the black people are working
lol
loudest kek
Should have clarified - black conservatives are working.
Tell them they're racist hypocrites for telling you a bunch of nonsense and then not giving you the day off. Bonus points if you're black.
Freedom!
If you’re black you can even call them racist for not giving you off an important day for “your people”
I hope you get paid double pay for holiday pay
In Lansing, MI, they changed a street originally named after a civil war general to MLK Jr. BLVD. Years later they changed Main St. to Malcom X Street. The corner where those two meet there is a gas station that is constantly robbed. I can't imagine why. :P
MLK Blvd seems like a good place for BLM protests
Combining Malcolm X street and MLK Boulevard is forbidden nigga alchemy.
most sought after streetcorner in the hood.
American is a systemically racist country!
Creates holidays after black civil rights leader - very racist
That makes me laugh though, because I'm white but from Africa and I can tell you that American blacks wouldn't last a week there
Please tell me you select "african american" on government forms
That sounds like fake news in the same way that TheOnion and BabylonBee sound like fake news
fucking KEK.......still waiting on the Liberian space shuttle launch tho.
I would love to watch that video
Checkmate!
My work used to give MLK day off, but they changed it to another made up holiday, Juneteenth, instead.
The only Holidays are Christmas, Easter, Veteren's Day, Memorial Day, Patriot's Day, Orange Day, St. Patrick's Day. The rest are made up!
You forgot July 4th!
kek
Happy Robert E. Lee day. That's what we still call it around here
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_E._Lee_Day
Hold the fuck up Sparky. It's also Robert E Lee Day. Someone go fire the General Lee.
I've always wanted a Dukes of Hazard car with the flag on the roof.
You must be in Virginia
Or if you got mugged because of MLK day
I had a dream that one day you would hear "WORLD STAR" shouted every two minutes on MLK Jr. Blvd
WORLD STAR
Possibly. He seemed to have some communist leanings. However MLK focused on God more than any of the other black leaders ever did.
Focussing on God makes a good shield to deflect debate
Jessie Jackson is a sodomite
I think he'd have his own designer shoe line like Kanye
It's a damn shame too, this is why you don't name streets after people.
Deal Elon Musk, please create a GPS service that has a navigation option for avoiding "vibrant" areas.
kek
Black pede next to me just said, "Yep. Can confirm."
kek
This is one of those federal holidays I'm happy to be working on.
Can't we take off work throughout all of February for Black Lives Matter History Month?
Let's just not work and collect welfare. We can just sit on the front porch all day, drink malt liquor and listen to stupid music.
My manager pretty much told me that she doesn't care if I take the holidays that are company suggested if I'd rather use them on another date. I don't think anyone I know has work off today.
I imagine its a busy day for weed dealers. Equivalent to black friday
The useless Govt.
https://www.neighborhoodscout.com/fl/ocala/crime
MLK blvd on this Map is the horizontal line to the left of the O in Ocala
Ew. Does Ocala even have any houses? The only residences I saw passing through there were all trailers.
We have $50K trailers and $10M homes
Whoever owns those trailer parks is making bank.
Ive always wanted to own a trailer park.
Same. It's minimal maintenance. You basically get paid for having that land.
Does Ocala have that strip club right next to the interstate... Cafe Risque?
I don't know. I know my future ex-wife works as a server at one in Orlando. lol

IF MLK were alive today, he would be called a far right extremist uncle Tom.
He might have ended up being a race baiting hard-r
He wouldn't, read about their handlers and who they were and where they got their money from and it will all be easy to understand.
USSR???? maybe via NAACP and or ACLU???????
He'd be shunned by large swaths of Republicans and Democrats. MLK Jr. was very socialistic in his economic views.
Nope. Gotta work. Cuz im White, Superstraight, and Pureblooded.
I havent heard the term "super straight" in a few months. Thanks for reminding me fren
I also should add Freethinkers. Have great day.
No joke, in Palm Beach, there's an intersection of MLK Blvd and Barack Obama Blvd
Does Andrew Gillum go there to pick up men?
You know it!
it's disappointing to see so many so called conservatives going for social media and establishment brown nose points w their homages to MLK....guy was a socialist at best and a Bolshevik plant
Buddy works for Ortronics, they took away Good Friday and gave MLK day off.
I gasped when I read what you typed
The times we live in! I couldn't believe what i was hearing, thought it was a joke! Unfortunately not.
It's no accident
If I can't avoid MLK Jr Blvd then there's nothing worth going there for.
so true
I drive past one daily. Same is true for schools named after the Kenyan.
I would love to see MLK Blvd changed to Obama Blvd
reminds me of the fried chicken place named after 0bama in 08. in harlem i think. pretty quickly changed name after publicity..probably a naive african/arab/oriental immigrant.
I have the day off because I'm retired. Definitely not because of a philanderer and rapist.
Which city would you prefer to walk in at night, Kabul or Chicago?
I got all the woke holidays off this year, including Juneteenth.
I think someone new was hired to HR. We used to get a 4 day weekend for Memorial Day. Now we get Juneteenth instead.
Ive never met a man who works in HR
LMAO you are correct, I always assume HR is a purple haired dipshit.
Lol. No.

Can confirm from my home town's MLK street. I take it to go pick up my weed sometimes so it all makes sense lol
convenient!
Happy James Earl Ray Day!
I'm sure as hell not going out to celebrate, I can tell you that right now.
kek u are one salty fren brah
This is pretty spot on.
I’m celebrating Benjamin Franklin’s birthday
Why would I have a fake holiday off from work? I don't work for an out-of-control government or for a POS leftist.
I used to live on a Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Honestly, I felt safer patrolling the streets of Iraq in the triangle of death as infantry looking for a fight than I did living on that boulevard.
It's true. 100% accuracy.
troof
