I have enough weight in the hiring process for my department to deny employment if I say "No".

I looked up all our applicants for a few positions today. 37 applicants have pronouns or clear leftist ideals in their publicly viewable social media presence. All 37 got a "no" from me today.

Fuck em. They wouldn't mesh with the team I have with that kind of shit, anyway. We'd all be walking on eggshells around them.

I actually do hire this way. Liberal fags if they show up their first day are nightmare employees. lazy as fuck, expect everyone else to do their shit for them, cry about everything, they are HR nightmares, they are constantly late, ask for a pay raise their first fucking month, inconsiderate as fuck and we recently fired one who always left early because he drew on company equipment with a sand blaster.

It's worse if they are a former smoker. One told me he should get to come in 10 minutes late, an extra 10 minutes at break, leave 10 minutes early for lunch, return 10 minutes late for lunch, get an extra 10 minute break in the afternoon and leave 10 minutes early at the end of the day.

Why?

"Just because I don't smoke doesn't mean I should lose that time".

I actually kind of agree with the whole non-smoking vs smoking time steal. I have many employees that are gone for like 30 minutes at a time to smoke because they have to walk off hospital property. I have spoken to HR about incentivizing the non-smokers with extra PTO. An extra week a year.

Or, hospitals could have designated smoking areas. Second hand smoke obviously isn't healthy but it's really not that big of a deal. You're telling me these people are so sick that they can't spend a second around cigarette smoke but they can walk through a parking garage full of running cars to get into the hospital? Ridiculous. The only people that really need to worry about it are people on oxygen, although I don't know how dangerous even that really is seeing as how I've seen people smoking while on oxygen. And even if it really is that dangerous for some people, that's where the designated smoking areas come in.

I'm not in a healthcare environment but my work has designated smoke shacks just outside the building. When I first saw it I thought man that's gotta suck because they're 3 sided plexiglass boxes with a top & ventilation holes along the top. They are away from the door & walkway so only smokers are getting any kind of 2nd hand smoke.

Yeah I've seen those, not exactly ideal, but it's nice to have a roof sometimes and it's nice to not have to leave the property. Especially somewhere like a hospital which typically have huge properties. These places make it so you can't step outside for a quick smoke and instead you have to walk 10 minutes before you can even start, then complain people are taking too long. Fuck off Linda, why don't you go harass Donna about her three restroom breaks per hour. I feel like this is just an extension of this cultural trend of people wanting to control other people even in the most minor and petty ways.

I'm sure he'll ask about me again and I'll play dumb and make some excuse, but honestly. I can understand if a younger man felt compelled to do that shit, but not this guy. In many cases, HR runs the entire show. I've worked at a place and know of many other organizations where leaders/management/etc can't make any calls or decisions without consulting HR first. HR (sometimes using Legal) will completely take over and control an organization. It's a way for mediocre women and pathetic men with bachelors degrees to gain power.

I've got nothing against running my process by HR but I've witnessed two companies recently where HR pretty much ran the entire show: wording the job description, choosing where it got posted, screening candidates on irrelevant metrics, etc.

I witnessed it from both the candidate side and the hiring side and they were fucking awful in both instances. They were completely oblivious to how damaging they were to the process.

She's willing to put my family's livelihood at risk to win and is using the current climate of female empowerment to get her way. FWIW I do find a team works MUCH better when there is a friendship or trust outside the office. Disagreements can happen more fluidly and robustly (which equates to creativity), and you can be honest without worrying if the person is going to run to HR about it.

I just pushed the entire team with expanded goals that required dedication and self-development to achieve. Not impossible goals by any means - just goals that would require the individual to push themselves to get better, step out of their comfort zone with their capabilities, and achieve something good for themselves and the org. The problem children worked themselves out naturally. The rest showed themselves to be real go-getters who crave knocking it out of the park each and every day.

Fair point and I can understand the sentiment. My counter argument against this approach in this day and age - it seems outrageous to me that a company capable of hiring remotely would choose, not the best candidates available, but instead settle for the best candidates available within a short drive of whatever random ass location they happen to be at, for the sake of an arbitrary requirement to go into their office. Seeing this far too often as covid concerns start to wane.

This is true and was back in the early 70s I believe. This started the rush for college degrees as employers looked to a degree as a sort of IQ test. This is why so many jobs that seem ridiculous to have a degree are required for it. Sorry but coding and IT are but just a couple that fit that category. Most young people will find their career by age 20 and be making good money and buying houses instead of paying student loans. Good for you. Parents need to take the same approach to their kids teachers. When you have yr orientation or parent teacher night preferably before the official school season starts be sure to check these important boxes. Do they have blue hair or any other skittle variant thats unnatural to their real color? Do they have a captain marvel haircut? Do they appear somewhere in between genders like a manly looking chick with an Adam’s apple? Do they speak with a lisp? Do they start their intro with their preferred pronouns? Lastly do they smell like a gaping rotten hole? With everything we’ve seen lately with how entitled these leftist teachers are when it comes to sexualizing children it’s not worth the risk of losing your kids innocence or their education. If any of these boxes get checked I would consider requesting a new teacher or going to a new school entirely. If home schooling is an option then even better.

Wish I could find a place like that to work. As a QA techie all positions are contractor and get outsourced so I've been doing independent contractor work for content mills. Tired of not having a full time job. Tried the "learn to program" but again, out-competed by outsourcing because they own the hiring and only hire their own. I guess I'll be working until I'm 90.
