Trades the skin cancer for lower d3 production

D3?

Shalomtoyou 56 points ago +56 / -0

The advantage to being black is your skin is a natural sunscreen.

Disadvantage is, having a natural sunscreen, you need more exposure to get the amount of vitamin D via sunlight.

2
Panopticon 2 points ago +2 / -0

So; what your saying is Mary Schmich's speech is racist. 😂

31
Guruchild 31 points ago +31 / -0

Vitamin d3 which is readily and abundantly made in white people’s skin in the sun from April to November in the northern hemisphere.

24
simpson5774 24 points ago +24 / -0

Also it is nearly directly correlated with outcomes when it comes to flu and covid.

From everything I could find, no one dies from covid when they ran the bloodwork and the number is 50ng/ml or up.

Conspiracy time: "sufficency" is considered 30ng/ml by most doctors.

30
KGB82 30 points ago +30 / -0

Nah, let's fuck up the whole world instead of recommending everyone take vitamin D supplements.

19
simpson5774 19 points ago +19 / -0

The really sad thing is, proper levels of Vit D does SO much more than just work the immune system so not only could we keep people from being sick for the most part in perpetuity, we could also mitigate other things like the auto-immune system being over reactive, metabolism, hormone imbalances to a degree and I am sure so much more if we also added 2 or 3 other things like boron, iodine and zinc (and take the fluoride out of the drinking water)

Sometimes I question myself and think maybe people are just stupid and self-interested but I got C's in highschool then dropped out of college and could figure this shit out and no one in the medical establishment has ever thought to question the RDA's for food or the nominal blood levels of these substances in the last 7-8 decades??

You have been deemed a Russian bot and will hereby be banned from voting in the next election.

Enjoy your gout! Haha

But you have a good point

2
GarudaDarkblack 2 points ago +2 / -0

Have you seen the upside down food pyramid they were having us use for decades? Basically telling everyone to eat pasta at Olive Garden with the unlimited breadsticks and maybe add a meatball to your spaghetti if you've had enough fruits and vegetables already. Protein and fat bad; carbs good.

Vitamin D is potentially a confounding variable in the covid equation. It may well be that intracellular melatonin (from infrared solar radiation) is the more protective factor. That is why D levels correlate with better outcomes but supplementation did not pan out as well as hoped. Melatonin from solar radiation is a powerful antioxidant.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5YV_iKnzDRg

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Zzo4SJopcY

These are 2 MedCram videos that explain the physiology in detail. Fascinating stuff.

1
krzyzowiec 1 point ago +1 / -0

It could also be that the form matters. Cod liver oil, lard, or emu oil would likely be taken up by the body more readily than a synthetic source of D3.

2
Mamapedia 2 points ago +2 / -0

Good point. If I remember, even when levels were raised, it wasn't as protective. But the study was likely designed to show no effect, as D3 is cheap and readily available - even natural forms are easily sourced. The intracellular melatonin piece got my interest, as people who had high vit D levels from sun exposure would be loaded with intracellular melatonin naturally as well.

9
Walt_Kowalski 9 points ago +9 / -0

Yep, mine was in the low 20’s when I almost croaked from covid. Turns out I have a gene that lowers my D3. I’m white. Also have respiratory allergies. I take 8K IU’s of D3 in the spring and fall, 10K in the winter and 6K in the summer.

4
616e6f6e796d6f7573 4 points ago +4 / -0

Dark horse podcast did a segment on this as well. Black people might be more affected from COVID not because of discrimination in care but by lack of D3.

5
MyOathNeverEnded 5 points ago +5 / -0

Blacks more often than any other race struggle with Vitamin D deficiency.

9
Walt_Kowalski 9 points ago +9 / -0

Everything in this life involves a trade-off.

1
krzyzowiec 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes. Whites do much better than blacks in arctic environments, particularly with regards to frostbite.

4
EagleI 4 points ago +4 / -0

This probably explains the covid killing greater percentage of black people thing they claimed was racism. Low vitamin d levels were strongly linked to covid death.

2
Perhelion 2 points ago +2 / -0

I’m black and every morning I take liquid vitamin drops for: B2, C, D3, K2, Iodine, Zinc, and Biotin. Then, I take ginseng, liver, cinnamon, and lion’s mane drops. Lastly, I top it off with a multi-vitamin gummy. I hate pills.

Ultimately, I never had any covid symptoms. Not even a cold. Some others in my house reported a loss of taste and smell, but nothing greater than that.

1
2224522 1 point ago +1 / -0

Says someone who doesn’t repeats big Pharma Sun screen talking points. Sun doesn’t cause cancer high carbs and seed oils cause cancer. Lack of sun exposure especially for black community equals lack of vitamin D production that causes a myriad of nasty side effects. Such as low bone density. It is a cholesterol driven hormone rather than a vitamin. Cholesterol makes hormones - why do they reduce cholesterol? Reduces hormones reduces female and male baby production.

Just used some yesterday before gardening! We dug holes for an orange tree, fig tree, and a blueberry bush. The apples, peaches, and maybe lemon might come in the fall, when it’s good to plant those.

Black folks do tan! The sun kicked my ass and I can see t-shirt lines now.

3
chickeninoven 3 points ago +9 / -6

The sunscreen IS the cancer, bra.

26
SwedishChainsaw2 26 points ago +26 / -0

I used to think that until I had a big chunk of my ear removed and a strip of my cheek carved out from working construction in the sun all day. Now I look like that Irish guy who always plays terrorists in the movies. (Edit: My Wife says his name is Tommy Flanagan and scars are sexy, but she's just saying that to make me feel better about my face being wonky.)

1
-jjjjjjjjjj- 1 point ago +1 / -0

There are certainly some questionable chemical sunscreens out there. But, there are safe ones. The physical ones that make you look like a ghost are the ones you want.

But, the best thing is to wear clothes. Even the best sunscreens are worse than a good hat, pants and long sleeves.

I've never thought being a woman was a disability either. If you still feel oppressed because you're one in 2022, God help you.

OK, maybe I should add "and live in a Westernized society."

24
EvJohn 24 points ago +24 / -0

CSB time:

The local art gallery was having a "women only" art exhibit/competition and invited my wife to participate.

She refused and told them that if she was going to enter a competition, she wanted to compete with all artists without being told she was handicapped because she is a woman.

That made some waves. Good woman!

Heck, there are certain white people who identify as black.

If blacks are so oppressed why do they identify that way?

Never saw the opposite of a Rachel Dolezal. Maybe Michael Jackson a little.

9
Zelenskyscockholster 9 points ago +9 / -0

MJ transformed himself the same reason trannies do. He hated who he was due to childhood abuse and trauma, much of which was sexual.

5
Filo76 5 points ago +6 / -1

Jackson actually had a disease that turned his skin white.

2
Trust_Sessions 2 points ago +2 / -0

Definitely not saying he's in the same class as Dolezal. He's just the only example I could think of that remotely fit the bill.

Don't need sunscreen, naturally high T, low expectations from society, easy to find a high pay job if halfway intelligent, young white bitches eager for hookups, black women desperate to find a black husband with a steady job: its life on Easy Mode if you're smart enough to take advantage.

2
krzyzowiec 2 points ago +2 / -0

Working on that myself. It’s amazing how easy it is with the right attitude. When I was a depressed, angry loser, life seemed hard. In hindsight, I created my own problems for no good reason.

Finding God helped the most. It led to me fixing my diet and doing more physical labor. Now I sleep like a baby and feel more confident than ever.

5
Ravenous 5 points ago +5 / -0

I know someone with extremely dark skin who thought that and it blew up in his face. Afterward he said, "I didn't know Black people could get sunburned."

I'm white and I'm borderline retarded! Is being a white retard some kind of disability?

I don't know who needs to hear this, but being a white retard is awesome!

I need sunscreen and I can memorize all the ingredients in a single glance!

4
Yeeessss 4 points ago +4 / -0

Well yeah it a disability it’s called retardation.

PS- you’re not supposed to eat the sunscreen.

1
AmericanJawa 1 point ago +1 / -0

What's the percentage of other races that are mentally disabled?

2
Yeeessss 2 points ago +2 / -0

In America at least it’s:

~8% of Middle Easterners/Africans ~6% of Hispanics ~3% of Whites ~1.5% of Asians

Are functionally retarded. Change my mind.

1
AmericanJawa 1 point ago +1 / -0

Who's providing the statistics you're working with? What process do they use to get such statistics?

1
Yeeessss 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well it’s an estimate but if you look at the average IQ rate of these groups and assuming a standard distribution curve you’ll see it more or less checks out. As I recall in America the avg IQ of whites is 100, asians 115, hispanics 95, arabs, etc 90 and blacks 85.

I would consider an IQ of under the low 70s to be more or less functionally retarded and considering the std deviation is ~7-8 pts I believe which is where I got my estimates.

The Bell Curve by Charles Murray has all of this information and it’s pretty well sourced.

1
AmericanJawa 1 point ago +1 / -0

What is the process used to acquire this information? What are all the factors being taken into account? What follow-up research has been done?

1
Yeeessss 1 point ago +1 / -0

The process is a study sample group takes IQ tests and they are averaged by their race.

The factors being taken into account are their race and their IQ.

The follow up research is to replicate this data which has been done many times across many studies.

The numbers may be off a slight bit- a point or two in either direction- because I’m going by memory. I read the Bell Curve like 15 years ago I think, but I’m basing my opinion on pretty solid and well supported research.

Again feel free to show me data that says blacks have higher avg IQs or asians lower, etc. or basically anything that remotely disproves anything I’ve said here and maybe you’ll change my mind. I’m not here to change yours I’m just stating an opinion (estimated % of borderline retards in each racial group) that is based on fact (race and IQ studies).

1
AmericanJawa 1 point ago +1 / -0

How are they selecting the sample groups?

What about factors beyond race?
