Here's a fun fact. If you don't have diesel, then you don't have regular gas either. This won't just be a diesel shortage. If the fuel trucks don't move, gas stations won't get gas. This is going to be a fun ride. Good luck everyone.

DontResuscitate 79 points ago +79 / -0

I second this. I work for a fuel hauler. We dont get diesel, you dont get anything. Wont be any food, wont be much of anything. There is one fuel hauler i know of locally that has CNG trucks and im just gonna go ahead and assume thats going to be in short supply before we know it as well and their drivers will probably end up robbed on the road here in commiefornia when the shortage hits and theyre the only ones hauling it.

Lincoln_Ford 48 points ago +48 / -0

Indeed. Trucks and truckers seem disrespected among the left. People are about to learn how important trucks and truckers are. Food is grown in the country, not in cities. These city folk are about to have a rough ride. I live in the country and can grow my own food. I know cattle farmers and have worked out deals for meat for vegetables. We are already planning the collapse.

getkek 13 points ago +13 / -0

If this hits there better be a property tax moratorium or SWHTF!!!

23
Lincoln_Ford 23 points ago +23 / -0

I am hoping that if the shit hits the fan, the government will have better things to do than collect property taxes. In any case, I will close my business and claim I am unemployed and then use what I would pay on income tax for my property taxes. I think the tax man is going to have a very hard time collecting if the shit hits the fan. I think we will have a run on tar and feathers. We are going back to the 1700's boys.

16
getkek 16 points ago +16 / -0

I can’t see how Government functions in any capacity if we are all rationing food and energy.

Maybe this is the push we need to just say fk. It. And go all in, once and for all.

12
VoidWanderer 12 points ago +14 / -2

The thing is the government will always function regardless of the plebs suffering. That was the point of expanding it to the size that it is, and every year continues to grow. They will get first pick for fuel, and need extra for their own fleets. They will get first pick of food, and take extra because they cannot be hungry while managing to the masses. They will have power and water because they cannot suffer through something like not showering or no AC during the day.

The Party and it's enforcers will always have something. Even if it's not a lot, they will always have more than the slaves.

2
Bandanna1 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah well it's a lot easier to cultivate resistance when the bread and circuses stop. Even if you have people just demanding bread and circus again, it starts.

9
Lincoln_Ford 9 points ago +9 / -0

I agree. I am ready let the federal government die and be reborn as something a lot smaller. Very limited federal government if any at all.

11
DontArkancideMeBro 11 points ago +12 / -1

I have bad news for you. This is all intentional, and the government is going to be a world government.

11
EagleOverTriumph 11 points ago +11 / -0

I think the tax man is going to have a very hard time collecting if the shit hits the fan.

You sure about that? The same government systems that look at the highest amount of income you ever brought in when considering child support or legal robbery in divorce cases where your wife "GoT uSeD tO a CeRtAiN lIFeStYlE sTaNdArD oF lIvInG" and suddenly can't be a "strong independent woman" and you aren't working that same job, but, eh, fuck you, figure it out? That Government? Please. They'll probably base all future tax stuff on whatever your last highest earning was and demand the money they didn't earn on the money you didn't earn.

Then Brandon will be like "I don't get it, we killed the supply chain, killed the gas supply, why aren't Americans earning any money?" and then send another few trillion in aid to Ukraine.

3
Lincoln_Ford 3 points ago +3 / -0

They can demand all they want. I am hoping their enforcement arm falls off. People will be too worried about surviving to come and try to wring blood from a stone.

4
CrispyQuesoSalami 4 points ago +4 / -0

SHTF is unfortunately the only option left seemingly.

They're clearly 100% on board with their plan to scuttle the country, and western civilization as a whole.

Our representatives are gangsters, self serving to the core, 100 on board with their WEF masters, and they hate us and no longer serve us.

AND to many people on our side keep thinking "maybe it will pass" and too many normies refuse to belive their own eyes as to whats going on.

Every time the commies seize control of a nation mass starvation happens.

13
MrStep 13 points ago +13 / -0

It was the January Coup.

Look, the problem is greedy mothers who want more than their fair share of baby formula, white sperm... spem... supremacrats who want to buy gas to get to work. The mass starvation will... But I've already said too much. No joke, folks.

9
TeamOrangeFB 9 points ago +9 / -0

Maybe Dem voters, but Dem leaders and RINOs know exactly what this is about. Global depopulation and govt assistance enslavement.

8
VoidWanderer 8 points ago +8 / -0

They know it won't magically switch over, and that it won't actually provide the amounts needed even if we could. The point is to create rationing and gaps. Mix that with a perpetual world war and they can keep the masses locked in place.

War is peace.

I know right? Or anything for that matter. I'm not sure the type of fuel farmers use for tractors or combines but if it's diesel, we are totally fucked. I'm in Ohio and my friends brother is a farmer, they are only planting half their fields cause the gas and fertilizer prices are so high. We are fucked big time

21

The latest catch phrase is that 1984 wasn’t meant to be an instruction manual.

I’d say that Idiocracy wasn’t, either.

16
glow-operator-2-0 16 points ago +16 / -0

Idiocracy was a prediction.

9
VoidWanderer 9 points ago +9 / -0

1984 was a warning that people even back then missed. It wasn't, "watch out for what they are going to do in the future" like people believe. It was "this is already happening, get off your asses and stop it."

The ministries are already in place, they just aren't consolidated into 4 branches. We don't have telescreens, but most people have a magic box in their pocket and many have "smart" devices in their homes that spy on them constantly and spew propaganda at them. Newspeak exists, we just call it "politically correct language". The proles are kept in line with attacks on them by their leadership and easy access to vices while slowly constricting them of actual necessities like correct healthcare that's not just a pill for each problem created by other pills and quality, unprocessed, food. Etc.

People back then didn't act on it and they set everything up slowly. We're living through their failures because they refused to think it was happening then.

6
mastermeatlock 6 points ago +6 / -0

It seems like since they missed the timeline for 1984 they had to go full speed ahead for idiocracy. I don't remember what year idiocracy was supposed to be but wasn't it a few hundred years in the future?

1

thisguy883 8 points ago +8 / -0

We were in the process of looking for a new home. Might hold off until shit gets back on track.

Also, fuck this housing market. Double the price for almost anything and outsiders coming in and buying all the property.

7
Nerdrem1 7 points ago +7 / -0

If I were in a position to buy a house right now I'd be very hesitant, it looks like a big bubble that will inevitably pop. On the other hand there's the time in the market vs timing the market argument.

3
thisguy883 3 points ago +3 / -0

I honestly want to wait and just scoop up a forclosed home. Might end up canceling the search tomorrow. Fucking sucks, but its better than paying 400k+ for a home that is worth maybe 200k.

5
grassshrimp 5 points ago +5 / -0

If I were considering buying a home, I'd hold off. Interest rates are heading North and will be a damper on the overall housing market, combine that with opinions that we are in a bubble and we can expect the bubble to be deflated at some point.

A real life example is we're in the process of selling an estate home. The home is shit, the property decent and we ended up with a bidding war with the estate getting about double what we expected. No fucking way is that property worth what the estate is receiving. No fucking way.

6
unred 6 points ago +7 / -1

We printed 40% of all USD last year.

It's not the property increasing in value, it's the dollar decreasing in value.

Are we going to stop printing? No.

Everyone needs a place to live, regulations only increase.

If you want a family, you need a home.

In a few years, all houses will be $1000000+

Owning is always cheaper than renting for long term, and being a landlord is a for profit endeavor.

Even if a housing crash happens, it would likely be more like the price rise just slows down, and if prices do actually go down, if you're living there or renting it, it's not a big deal, simply hold on.

If you need a home, and you can afford it, I wouldn't put life on hold hoping that you can get a better deal later.

2
Warbeard 2 points ago +2 / -0

Plus Blackrock is just gonna scoop them all up faster than you when it crashes.

Off road diesel. It's red.

7
roadrunner0 7 points ago +7 / -0

After paying $850 for 240 gallons of heating fuel because we ran out of fire wood this March I hear ya.. Off road diesel is now $5 a gallon in bulk here in Geauga County and on the East coast it is over $6 a gallon in bulk.. The Amish mostly use teams of horses for field work but some use tractors especially the ones that do truck farming and sell wholesale to the local stores.. Many have been putting the pony powered mini planters back into the field.. All part of a destroy the USA plan by the Democrats..

5
Shadowflare 5 points ago +5 / -0

What about aircraft? Will this effect flights?

8
henri_derelicte 8 points ago +8 / -0

In all likelihood. When oil is refined, crude oil goes into a large tank and is separated by a process known as fractional distillation. The heavier items at the bottom of the tank flows off to become diesel fuel and fuel item, whereas lighter items towards the top of the tank become octane (the main hydrocarbon in gasoline), kerosene (used in aviation fuel) and propane (which is used to heat your home and power your grill).

5

7
Lincoln_Ford 7 points ago +7 / -0

I can almost guarantee you that it will. Jet A (jet fuel) is still refined from petroleum. Even if all we made was jet fuel, we still have to get it to the airport, via diesel truck. Everything that moves from point a to point b is about to skyrocket in price.

2
Shadowflare 2 points ago +2 / -0

They knew the push back they'd get and they planned for it.

10

It is preventable in a country like ours. An independent republic of states can work for us but people will have to take control of their states. Many can sustain themselves and work collectively with others. I think that's the one saving grace we have going for us but states going independent and separating from the federal system has also led to a civil war. It's going to get interesting and scary. We already have a great example of what can happen to us if we don't take control and that is Venezuela. They were once rich, modern and productive.

In the past 30 years, it's never been over $2.50/gal.

In Dec, they agreed on a 2-year locked in price of $4.50/gal. A few of their top executives and HQ dept leads in the company have announce their upcoming retirement this year. They know it's about to all go to shit.

So glad i didnt buy a diesel for my personal truck, i saw this coming. I take a very miniscule amount of comfort in thr fact that what they mean by rationing means it will only be used for hauling purposes at least until its just gone so i get a little more time with my truck but still paying out of my ass

OnlyRetardsGetTheJab 7 points ago +8 / -1
  1. Gasoline is brought to gas stations using diesel trucks.
  2. Diesel trucks can run on vegetable oil and various other oils.

Diesel vehicles will still be on the road when the gas vehicles are rotting away in driveways.

5
PickleSticks 5 points ago +5 / -0

They only diesel is buy is an old dodge and run it off all the used motor oil from cars that are stranded, sadly that ship has sailed.

lul unless it’s electric and yo have panels setup your fucked with a gas truck, the only thing you did was become more feminine by buying a gas truck with the inability to tow decent weights

Make sure you have at least a months worth of food for your family and your pets. For the pets especially get wet food while you can still find it.

1
KekistanPM 1 point ago +1 / -0

Who would downvote this? People should be doing that in the good times, too.

I will rue the time when I cut my food intake, tighten my belt, and have trouble finding things to eat because landwhales are swarming all the places where the food is, and trying to hoard everything.

4
DonttrustChina 4 points ago +4 / -0

And after rationing comes your ration being dependent on your social credit.

1
The_Emperor 1 point ago +1 / -0

Fun fact. Rationing will make it SCARCER. If you want Diesel in the market, do not ration it on the East coast...let the market respond to the profit incentive. At enough per gallon, people will squeeze it out of their asses to make money. Of course, the socialists in DC won't think of this, and we'll be back to gas lines like under Carter.

SwitchbladeDrone 4 points ago +4 / -0

This is fucking retarded. Right there in the body of the article, the author admits the US is a major EXPORTER of distillate fuel- which includes diesel. If you don't want to have a shortage in the US maybe don't export to everyone else?

“A lot of countries won’t accept Russian fuels anymore. So, that has caused a need for more diesel around the world and the U.S. is a major exporter of refined products. So U.S. diesel exports are up,” Rousseau told The DCNF. “So, you have less capabilities, you got more exports and so what that’s doing is it’s drawing down the inventory levels in the U.S.”

4
geckogreen 4 points ago +4 / -0

Wouldn't prices be even higher if there was a shortage?

7
Brobold 7 points ago +7 / -0

Products won't even be delivered if there's a diesel shortage, so prices won't even exist.

6
geckogreen 6 points ago +6 / -0

I meant price of diesel. It's about $6 where I'm at, which is definitely high. If there is a shortage, I would expect the diesel price to be even higher.

5
bangbus 5 points ago +5 / -0

The diesel spread to gasoline has exploded upward. They used to usually run in line with a constant spread of maybe 40-60 cents depending on location and market conditions. Sometimes it would hit 80 cents. Where I live the spread is now over a dollar and I saw it as high as $1.60 in the past few weeks.

4
Omniwulf 4 points ago +4 / -0

Lets face reality here folks. WE do not have a government anymore. We do have our enemies in control of our systems how ever. They are preaching what they are going to do to us and they are taking everything they can and shipping it all overseas to their bases. They are flooding into our nation and when enough get in.. that is when they will start a very bloody war. Displacing millions of us and declaring land for themselves. What ever shall we do? im to old now. guess i'll go log into a game and shove my head up my ass cause im not seeing any youth doing much about all this.

If you think the supply chain crisis is bad, a lack of diesel fuel will make it even worse. Anything that moves by truck or train depends on diesel.

See what they are doing. They are giving away our weapons. Draining our fuels. Soon the WHO will take over the ability to declare lock down then send in the UN troops and what county they couldn't get away with that. No fuel no weapons

3
ScottyGunn 3 points ago +3 / -0

I see diesel being a real problem very soon. The government will probably step in and try to ration it to priority trucking companies, and knowing the Biden administration, it will go to political donors and union companies only.

3
someschmuck 3 points ago +3 / -0

If only the government didn't cancel the land leases in Alaska and the gulf because they were stonewalling the companies over the other leases they needed to actually produce fuel.

3
blitzkrieg1 3 points ago +3 / -0

Well maybe we should make some more boys. This is BS unless the producers are in on it. Nothing surprises me anymore.

As soon as this diesel starts to run out, is when shits going to hit the fan. Talk about a hot war. People are going to start losing it.

1
roadrunner0 1 point ago +1 / -0

The Biden administration has been pumping reserve tanks dry and sending the fuel to Europe filling NATO supply depot tank farms as a preparation for war with Russia..

1
ThisIsHowItStarts 1 point ago +1 / -0

When are people who actually drill for gas just gonna start doing it anyway. And stop listening to a senile retard. What are they going to do? How can they stop that from happening. Besides fining them. I’m sure the American people would get behind any drilling company, and assess the fines, and pay that instead of the high gas prices. I’m gonna assume the fines, would be less than what we’re paying now.

You mean hydrogen? That one has working versions currently driving around. The one that was boasting on normal h2o was a scammer in the same vein as all those free energy devices.

2
WarViper1337 2 points ago +2 / -0

Sorry to break it to you but it's just a hydrogen cell which are pretty meh. Also the technology for the mass production of hydrogen powered cars is even farther away than battery electrics.
