I’ll have to agree with you there. The best to me is my body my choice after these commies threatened people with clot shots. The left is aids.

I think you meant the left has AIDS, but close enough.

No, wasn’t mixing my words. They’re literal aids.

If you look at any "communist" regime there are tons of connected oligarchs. Communism is a con game run by people that want to own the world.

If you go to his Twitter page, he's only liked 14 post since he got on Twitter. Almost all are in the past month or so. They include a story about Netflix telling employees to get fucked if they don't like their content, a Ronald Reagan speech and the post from Elon implying the left has moved further left causing him to be considered right. Has Bezos, who's most certainly still a douche and an enemy, been slightly red pilled? 😂😂 What kind of gonzo world are we living in today?

Bezos doesn't give a shit about regressive taxes at all and he's not being sincere about discussing corporate taxes either. He's just mad that Biden has become a liability for Dems.

3
Getthetorches 3 points ago +3 / -0

What are regressive taxes? Can u explain it to me like I'm 5?

5
FrankZappaSA 5 points ago +5 / -0

Sure.

Progressive taxes increase as income increases. The higher your income, the higher percentage you pay.

Regressive is the exact opposite—the less you make, the higher percentage you pay.

4
deleted 4 points ago +4 / -0
3
laxslash 3 points ago +3 / -0

Make more, pay less.

3
Smurfection 3 points ago +3 / -0

A progressive income tax is when those who have the most money are taxed the most. For instance, there are five income tax brackets in the U.S. Under the poverty line, three "middle class" tax brackets and one wealthy tax bracket. Those at the poverty line and under, do not pay taxes. The three middle classes have three different rates. The wealthy have the most highly taxed income. It's progressive because those who are at the bottom pay little or nothing while the biggest tax burdens rest on those who can afford to pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes.

By extension, any tax that charges wealthier people more is considered progressive. For instance, there are luxury taxes on some items such as yachts, planes and certain types of vehicles. Since wealthier people can afford these items and extra tax known as a luxury tax is applied to these items.

A "sin" tax is generally the inverse of the Luxury tax. A "sin" tax is usually applied on things like alcohol, cigarettes, cigars. Since the sin tax is not graduated (graduated here means having degrees of gradation, like five different income tax levels) and disproportionately cost the poor and lower middle classes more of their income, the tax is said to be regressive. A man who only makes $30,000 a year but buys just as much beer as a man who makes $80,000 a year, pays a higher percentage of income in taxes than the richer man.

An example of a regressive income tax is a flat tax, when there is one common rate of tax for all income levels. For instance a poor man or a lower income man would pay 5% of his income in taxes and the wealthy man that has an income of a million or more would also only pay 5% of his income in taxes. The 5% is the same but the poor man can not afford it as easily as the rich man.

inflation is a regressive tax because It swallows a bigger chunk of a poor person's income than the rich person's income. inflation is mostly caused by pumping too much money into the economy. It's not always caused by this but we won't worry about the other causes of inflation right now. Since there is "too much" money in the economy, the prices start rising to accommodate the amount of money floating around. Rich people can absorb this much easier than poor people or middle class people.

To understand inflation, think of it this way. A dollar bill is one dollar no matter what, but the value of that dollar fluctuates constantly. So, let's enter an imaginary world. In this imaginary world, There are ten grocery stores for 50,000 people. The government decides to give each grocer a thousand dollars with the stipulation that each grocery store puts bells on their doors. The bells for the doors don't cost thousand dollars though. They cost 800 dollars it's free money so almost every grocery store owner puts bells on their doors. The two guys who make bells end up with new customers and one guy even decides to make a new type of bell for the grocery stores. Each of those guys are paid the standard amount for the bells, which means they got a little bit screwed because they know the grocery store owner just got a thousand dollars to put bells on their doors. So now, the bell makers demand a higher price for their bells. They are paid that money. Then, the supplier of the metal to make the bells says, hey wait a minute, you just got a percentage of that thousand that the grocery store owner paid you. Well, I want my cut too, so now the supplier to the bell makers wants more money too. On and on down the supply change it goes, until it hits the farmers that supply the grocery stores. now the farmers want more money from the grocery store owner but the grocery store owner already paid that money to the bell makers, the metal for the bell makers, the tool maker for the bells makers etc. So the grocery store owner now has to raise his prices to cover the costs of buying food from the farmer.

A real world example you might understand is inflation due to minimum wage hikes. Let's say everywhere in the U.S. minimum wage was raised to $20.00. That's sounds nice and generous and livable right. I agree. It sounds that way. However, what about the manager that was making $19.00 an hour on a salary that now says, wait, I'm making about the same, even less than my minimum wage employees? or the long term employee that says, wait...I've been at this job for five years trying to work myself up to $20 an hour and now some kid off the street is going to get $20 an hour. Both the manager and the more experienced employee go to the owner and say, we want $25 and hour. The owner has to pay more money and to do so, the owner may fire a newer employee or find another way to cut costs. However, another ripple effect is the guy who owns the factory down the street is now hearing demands from his employees to raise their wages because minimum wage had gone up and they used to make five dollars more than minimum wage per hour. They still want to make five dollars more than minimum wage, in fact they want a six dollar an hour wage increase because they should be paid more because of "inflation"...the percentages are different.

This has a ripple effect up and down the job market until everyone's salary and hourly wage go up and all employers have to pay their employees more so all of them start raising their prices.

What all inflation has in common is that, those with the least amount of money pay the highest percentages in terms of costs as these things work themselves out in the market.

Bezos is not on your side, even if he joins in on some fair criticism of Biden

7
80960KA 7 points ago +7 / -0

No extremely wealthy man is on your side, you generally don't get extremely wealthy if you're not at least to some extent a cold calculating operator.

I'm not talking about the plumber down the street that ground out a couple million in clogged drains and wise investments, or an entrepreneur that made $10M growing a business, I'm talking about the billionaire club.

11

When you have as much money as he has, inflation doesn't mean jackshit. Guys with that kind of money, can wait for the economy to tank, for all other investors to go belly-up, then swoop in and buy their assets at distressed prices

7
learntocode 7 points ago +7 / -0

His empire relies on cheap shit from China flooding the homes of American Consoomers using the labor of people juuuuust above the Welfare/EBT Caste.

netflix et al are losing business because Consoomers are being destroyed by the government's policies. Bezos was cool with the lockdowns, cool with the poison vax mandates - but now that the shit is starting to hit the fan he wants more out of his puppets.

Publish another mother fucking op ed in the Washington Post, bitch.

Your servants will be eating bush meat stew out of a bowl made from the top of your skull in a year Bezos. Fuck you.

4
80960KA 4 points ago +4 / -0

Netflix's problems are a lot deeper than that. They grew by being the place that had a huge library of great "video rental store" content, but as studios and production conglomerates started their own services, netflix lost those partnerships.

They have to rely more and more on their own homegrown originals...which have been mostly garbage because they have low standards and until like last week's corporate memo, would greenlight more or less anything.

I wonder how many consoomers have just checked out of streaming services because the whole space is such a mess. If you need like 5 subscriptions to different streaming packages at ever-increasing prices that are now in the realm of $15-25/mo...a cable subscription is superior. There's also of course the best option, piracy.

5
TonyTreehouse 5 points ago +5 / -0

He lost a crapload of net worth in the last month. Inflation must be hurting amazon sales significantly. And killing many of the mid size companies that use AWS to manage their businesses.

With AWS you pick the services you want ala cart. So it is easy to decide you don't need a lot of the add on services.

The WEF is pulling back hard right now.

They've either pushed too hard and are trying to regain control or they've already taken control and can now try to seem "balanced" to prevent a revolution in their new global order.

4
AerialRush 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yeah there's some fuckery afoot, maybe they feel they can't push as hard as planned based off the low rates of people that got mRNA injections (be it a test or worse). Something like 40-50% didn't comply in the US. Gates was disappointed by that, so I wonder...

2

Good observation. I think the latter is true. Elon, Dorsey, and now Bezos? We’re seeing a suspicious shift in messaging.

Inflation would probably wipe Amazon out, as well as a lot of others.

3
Walt_Kowalski 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah, fewer shoppers buying discretionary items. He could start selling groceries and more toilet paper (not including the Washington Post).

3
America1stAndOnly 3 points ago +3 / -0

Not getting government subsidies would wipe Amazon out.

3
Master_Wyatt_Gurp 3 points ago +3 / -0

It would. Majority of Amazon's business is small purchases, shortages and stark inflation could collapse his empire.

4

This is the beginning of the left trying to oust Biden. Bezos is trying to undermine Biden to open the door for a Big Mike or side of beef presidential run.

2

Yep. This will be the deflection attempt.
