Someone has been reading Art Of The Deal

197
Ghostof_PatrickHenry 197 points ago +197 / -0

Twitter is so fucked. Either they admit it, and face lawsuits from their investors, or they fail to disclose-- allowing the deal to fall apart-- and face lawsuits from their investors.

Surely, something criminal has occurred within the walls of Twitter. Investigate and start putting people in prison.

Jaqen 78 points ago +78 / -0

While the bots issue reveals the inauthenticity of the user base and how it relates to inflated valuation, that is merely the tip of the iceberg.

The government surveillance backdoor apparatus is the real concern. Big Data tentacles throughout the entire infrastructure.

Does Musk intend on decoupling those links?

Is he foolish enough to even try?

51
Dereliction 51 points ago +51 / -0

Elon, like us, knows that some (many) of those bots are driven by state actors, some of which will come to light if and when Twitter starts having to explain themselves better.

37
Jaqen 37 points ago +37 / -0

It "came to light" in the 70s during the Church Committee Congressional investigations, which explored the role of Operation Mockingbird, which began in the 50s.

22
plaaaa 22 points ago +22 / -0

And the world is so cucked. Most who know this and operation paperclip are facts will still pick on conspiracy theorists to protect the CIA.

YouKnowWhatItIs87 0 points ago +1 / -1

With only limited knowledge of operation paperclip, was it not helpful for the US? Are you aware of any good books or documentaries on OP?

It is the perfect example of a necessary evil. If we had not snatched up those scientists, the Soviet Union would have. The only failure was that we did not get more Nazi scientists sooner.

You realize you’re talking about the guy who defrauds investors by sending big CGI dildos into “space”, right?

28
buckiemohawk 28 points ago +28 / -0

if you realized how many bot account target conservative accounts you would be shocked. But that is how twitter and most of these forums make money is botting

15
Jaqen 15 points ago +15 / -0

Users are the currency, your clicks and views the transactions. Hence the value in fake users.

Which reveals the only real solution to the problem: no users.

Any and all participation there is done in error. Block the domain at the network level. Use nitter.net if you must view it at all. Mock anyone that speaks of these services in real life as the pariahs they are.

4
LogicalPatriot 4 points ago +5 / -1

You would be shocked on HOW they target you. I bet you don't even know...

besides Elon getting on a Clinton suicide watch list, I am enjoying this show.

7
Jaqen 7 points ago +9 / -2

Dramatic indeed.

But look at all the foolish conservatives flocking back to twitter. Because some rich guy that talks the talk has taken the helm?

I never understood why the abused returns to their abuser so readily.

7
Just_dumping_fuel 7 points ago +7 / -0

Elon is setting it on fire. it confuses me too.

maybe the FBI is doing a J6 thing on Twitter.

"Everyone follow me, I am going back to the twats. don't you want to follow me? Elon is proving that bots are real. come on real people, make accounts, gotta pump those numbers up to watch the show."

just sounds like they are trying to paint over rust before selling a car.

1

The deal won’t complete. NPCs can go back to taking their digital soma.

-5
LawlAndDisorder -5 points ago +3 / -8

This fantasy that Twitter is built on government hardware is silly.

I’m not sure exactly why they would be so overt in their dealings when they already have access to all of the traffic.

7
Jaqen 7 points ago +7 / -0

This fantasy that Twitter is built on government hardware is silly.

That is not the claim. The two maintain separate datacenters.

They are connected with hadoop instances. The data mined form the source is compiled into databases at the destination.

Twitter will also sell the source data to other 3rd parties.

I’m not sure exactly why they would be so overt in their dealings when they already have access to all of the traffic.

The network traffic is also monitored and logged. That traffic data becomes infinitely more useful when combined with all the browsing data mined from visitors, done on the server side. Which is why you should be using https://nitter.net/about.

2
JoinTheDiscussion 2 points ago +2 / -0

Guess it wouldn't be too hard to setup a URL changing not here to "correct" everyone's twitter links to nitter

1
Jaqen 1 point ago +1 / -0

Suggested often. Mods at one point even posted a thread about the problem. Never took action though.

6
Jaqen 6 points ago +6 / -0

Perhaps more to the point (see other reply) Twitter employs government operatives themselves.

What more really needs to be said about them. Avoid at all costs.

119
Olds777 119 points ago +120 / -1

The executives are fucked, because they're personally liable for any fraud when dealing directly with their share holders. If Twitter is sold for less their investors initially expected, because of fraud or doesn't sell at all and the sale price plummets they are super fucked.

Part of me wonders how savvy Musk is as this is a pretty damned amazing checkmate and the timing couldn't be more perfect for Truth.

46
IRScansuckmyanus 46 points ago +46 / -0

The dude built the largest ev company on earth when almost 99% of the population thought evs were retarded. He had a multi decade vision, same with spacex. The man is definitely a genius. I'm sure he has learned all the tricks of the trade in navigating a boardroom running tesla for so long.

11

Watch his interview with The Babylon Bee. I gained a lot of respect for him when he described his journey from immigrant to billionaire.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvGnw1sHh9M

1
Waco419 1 point ago +1 / -0

He's certainly a genius. But, it wouldn't surprise me if he has kept Gwynne Shotwell tightly in the loop and taken any advice she has given him on the Twitter issue very seriously. She may even have been a silent "co-conspirator" on the deal.

Remember, he has said many times that EVERYTHING he does has some tangential connection to colonizing Mars. Since she is COO of SpaceX (and basically Elon's business rock), her input has surely been invaluable.

I suspect that Elon believes that a free speech oriented Twitter is essential to SpaceX's ambitions.

16
Tpac 16 points ago +16 / -0

I don’t see how people doubt Elon’s ability. He didn't go into this blind, he knows what he is doing and has a plan. I don’t know what his plan is but Just because he shit post online doesn’t mean he half hazardly decided to buy twitter with 40 billion dollars

Or he just got lucky. My honest feeling was that if the board just has said okay or left it to open tender auction process like any real company they could have all walked away with their Golden Parachutes. Now they're facing golden showers in prison.

23
stratocaster_patriot 23 points ago +23 / -0

These are not smart people. These are Millennials who know coding and social justice. They don't have skills like other businesses. This is the generation of the self-titled CEO after all. About half of them fancy themselves CEO's of some sort. Hell, AOC considers herself an author.

As someone else put it, Elon wasn't just purchasing twitter, he was purchasing a bunch of evidence in a huge number of criminal cases.

37
Brellin 37 points ago +37 / -0

I don't recall precisely where it is in law but I'm pretty sure the law against workplace discrimination and wrongful termination explicitly excludes members of the communist party, which means any admitted communist can be fired and there's shit all they can do about it because there's no recourse in law to protect communists in the workplace.

9
mugatucrazypills 9 points ago +9 / -0

They can but aren't obligated to and most large HR are implicitly communist. The bigger issue is the "we don't operate as a business," statement. It's a declaration of fraud and conspiracy and Ill intent/maleficence. HR is liable at levels if they don't fire the person in the video.

Beware of O'Keefe bearing big titties !

6

88
EvilGuy 88 points ago +88 / -0

It's good because Twitter is in an unwinnable situation here. Either he gets a big discount and they get bought or they have to admit that their site is full of bots and bullshit and that's why the deal went south which will absolutely tank their share price.

These swamp creatures really can't handle any sort of sunlight. Change is coming for them now one way or the other.

19
Millie1234 19 points ago +20 / -1

I'll take either of those scenarios, because either way the board is fucked.

5
chesswhilehigh 5 points ago +6 / -1

What if they spin it as Elon just changed his mind and is looking for an excuse?

30
EvilGuy 30 points ago +30 / -0

"Hi I am buying your website because it has a lot of users and I think I can do a better job running it than you do."

"Okay sounds good."

"Alright I need data on your users, so I can do my due diligence to see how many of them are legitimate, since this is all based on buying a site with a large userbase."

"Oh sorry. We can't do that. Its not much we promise."

"I can't move forward without hard data..."

"ELON IS BACKING OUT!"

See how that plays to the shareholders? Or anyone looking to invest?

When you buy a company you are allowed AND expected to look under the hood to make sure you are getting what they claimed. There is really no "AS IS" when it comes to this stuff.

Right now Twitter is looking like they have something to hide, and that just makes everyone more curious.

7
chesswhilehigh 7 points ago +8 / -1

I understand it looks that way to us, but what about the lemmings? They’re just dumb.

28
EvilGuy 28 points ago +28 / -0

This isn't about the lemmings who watch the MSM.

This is about the shareholders of twitter.. either this deal happens or they will be launching lawsuits about why it didn't happen.

These are not all sheep with 10 shares they got on Robinhood.. there are lots of savvy investors out there will be asking hard questions about why their shares are tanking when they were supposed to be getting a big payday.

Also I am sure DeSantis will have questions about this as it affects Florida investors etc.. This stuff is why they went from "We are not selling twitter! To okay we are selling twitter.." so quickly.

It's a whole shit sandwich for Twitter however you slice it. Makes me wonder if maybe Elon didn't even ever want to buy Twitter. Maybe he knew their numbers wouldn't stand up to due diligence and he just wants to make it implode and build his own version.

15
FreeNow 15 points ago +15 / -0

If states have Twitter in their pension fund they can get together on a massive lawsuit.

9
Dereliction 9 points ago +9 / -0

> Florida has entered the chat.

4
MichiganTrumpTrain 4 points ago +4 / -0

I was wondering too if Elon put the offer to actually buy or just force Twitter to ruin itself. He seems to be on the side of free speech and maybe just realized he was one of the few who would and could do something to fix Twitter. Most if not all of the other top .01% want Twitter to fall to the extreme left.

2
jbDonuts 2 points ago +2 / -0

That would be the cheaper option...

2

60
JRBR549 60 points ago +60 / -0

Check out @PsakiSakiPsucki on Twitter. She ran the numbers on Barry, AOC, Bernie, Bidunce, etc. On the last 10,000 followers over half had zero tweets.

45
impera 45 points ago +45 / -0

Not just fake bots because the company employs criminals or retards or communists(which they certainly do), but fake bots to mimic a sense of popularity for unelectable people who STOLE the election.

Fraud charges by investors are the least of the worries of what could be coming down on the dumbfucks that run twitters company and board. The real insurrectionists have been located, and twitter are not the only ones.

5
mugatucrazypills 5 points ago +5 / -0

Democrat supporting fraud and misrepresention is just another service the company provides.

It's anyone who EVER paid for advertising on Twitter ever who should ask for treble tripple plus punative damages back. Fraud and trade practice with intent conspiracy to same

Just think of all the lawsuits that are going to be flying at the twitter board when it comes out that they've been defrauding all their investors and advertisers by artificially increasing their user totals. Heads are gonna roll and it doesn't really matter what way Elon goes at this point, he's got their balls in a vice either way.

41
NvJohansson 41 points ago +41 / -0

It's not that complicated to figure out. They banned* over 20% of all conservative accounts in The last 5 years and their numbers never went down... Think of it as the great virtual replacement, but with bots.

25
Diotima 25 points ago +25 / -0

Good insight and in fact twitter became a defacto democrat mouthpiece by suppressing conservatives voices and perspectives while amplifying the far left and it’s hatred of trump.

3

They banned their biggest account holder and many who followed that guy left the platform. That move alone had to have had a big impact.

I_lurk_u_long_time 13 points ago +13 / -0

As long as CNN tells them it's trusted, they will trust it, and isn't that enough for the shareholders? And if the SEC is run by the government, would the SEC even fine Twitter?

This is the stupid thing about fighting leftists using truth. They don't care about the truth.

Musk has Twitter by their fake cahones. I think the only reason he's in this deal is to expose the corruption inside & outside Twitter's walls by revealing that Democrats use Twitter as a weapon in conjunction with the NSA, CIA, DOJ, & FBI. It's entire purpose is to manipulate & destabilize societies & their elections. And if Musk can successfully expose that, there's going to be 300 million people descending on them in the 2nd Revolution.
