Anyone who says that is literally too stupid to insult.

11
Libertas_Vel_Mors 11 points ago +11 / -0

Oh, it's gotten worse... many of these retards now blame Trump - like the complete Democrat control of White House and Congress over the past 16 months plus the flood of brain-dead EOs and missteps suddenly have no effect at all on the economy...

4
thisguy883 4 points ago +4 / -0

I still see people claiming it would be WORSE under Trump.

Like bro, WTF is wrong with you?

TDS is such a real thing that it's mind boggling to me. These fucking morons will look at what's going on and think, "Well this is bad, but at least we don't have a moron like Trump in office."

No shit, I still hear this.

I literally saw gas go from 4.19 yesterday, to 4.29 TODAY. And this is just for regular! Some gas stations haven't even updated their signs yet.

And you're telling me that it could be worse under the only man who was able to make the US energy independent to the point where we were exporting oil? You serious?!

I've lost faith in our fellow countrymen.

Mean tweets kept money in my pocket

Now with Biden

BROKE AF

9
thisguy883 9 points ago +9 / -0

Under Trump, everything was super affordable. I had almost 0 issues buying a house or a car.

Under Biden, I can't even get a good deal on a house I want because the market is so fucked right now.

4
RabidZoo 4 points ago +4 / -0

Fuck man...I can't find a decent deal on an apartment...a house at this point would bury me. And I make more now than I ever have...and live rural. Shit is outrageous.

That's the same way we know that Russia has been kicking Ukrainian ass and that Ukraine deserves every bit of it and Ukraine is also now guilt of lots of war crimes.

11
covok48 11 points ago +11 / -0

No one believes anything in this phony war.

9
thisguy883 9 points ago +9 / -0

I don't even give a shit about Ukraine, but you have RINOS like bitch McConnell saying it's the number one issue facing Americans today.

Fuck you Mitch.

1
DontArkancideMeBro 1 point ago +1 / -0

That turtle needs to be put on a post.

1
Long_time_lurker 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, I don't believe much of what I hear. Like some were spinning Mariupol as a victory... for Ukraine? Eh, sure, I think Russia probably expected things to go a lot better than they did, but losing a city is generally not considered "victory" in any meaningful sense.

Also, I think this is more to find out our playbook for China. Watch how China moves to see if they're going to take Taiwan next.

We could really use an America first leader to protect us right about now. I think this is more about laundering money for the elites at this point. I can't see why else they would suddenly support a group with foreign Nazis otherwise.

That said I feel awful for the average Ukranians and Russians who are caught up in an elite power game when they just wanted to live out their lives without everything exploding. War is hell and I wish this one hadn't happened.

-2
GodHatesBiden -2 points ago +4 / -6

Russia has not been kicking Ukranian ass lol

pincer movement to encircle Kiev failed. It just failed. I got fucked because I imported a lot from Russia (pre-obamas it was AK parts kits, then it was guitar tubes/vintage electronics) but the people I did business with there are starting to admit in group chats that its been a mistake and its going pear shaped. they were told in no uncertain terms it would be over in a week.

2
ForwardObserverFIST1 2 points ago +2 / -0

If it wasn't for nato assistance, ukraine would have fallen in a week. Russia is essentially fighting all of western europe and the usa at once and still gaining ground.

3
GodHatesBiden 3 points ago +3 / -0

if it wasn't for nato assistance, ukraine would have fallen in a week

their supply issues - relying on trains - were so severely deficient they couldn't have taken anything in a week even totally unopposed. even if they were welcomed in, their dogshit supply chain would not have allowed them to fuel their columns properly to get it done in a week. or three.

russia is fighting an army 1/3+ its size but armed with some 00s technology. they're getting targeting information from the CIA and their elite units were trained by USSF.

but again, russia is 10x the aircraft and 3.5x the troops. decades of corruption in their air service is really showing and the US would be wise to rethink the numbers/preparedness of our own fighter and bomber force which suffered significant parts shortages during GWOT.

there is a tendency by some people on here to suck Putin's dick because he's like anti zog or some qanon shit but I dont think any country - and even defense think tanks in other countries - can look at whats happening there and think wow, russia is a paper bear, at least for now.

Russia is essentially fighting all of western europe and the usa

given the garbage performance of their anti-air and inability to move with any urgency, and given that Russia's eternal paranoia is the lack of geological defense means they're constantly stuck in the open on their own border, I think a war in which the US and Europe brings the F22, f35, gen drones, and g6 night vision would have been such a slaughter at the opening salvo someone in Moscow would have coup'd Putin in a week. they rely entirely on rail. hit train stations and gas lines like its 1944 and wait for winter.

1
stratocaster_patriot 1 point ago +2 / -1

Well maybe you're right but the media today just admitted Mariupol fell which makes me think Russia just took more than that. Like I say maybe you are right but if the MSM tells me Russia is not kicking ass then they've either just now stopped lying to us for a change or Russia is kicking ass. Why would they be telling us the truth?

2
GodHatesBiden 2 points ago +3 / -1

they spin domestic politics.

but the entire world is watching russia shit the bed in Ukraine. They finally captured Mariupol apparently but their initial attempt was to capture Mariupol, Kiev, Kharkiv, and Odessa in 2 weeks. A blitz type maneuver.

There are a lot of reasons Russia has stalled and reason to believe this is awful.

  1. Their military is not a professional standing army like ours, it involves conscription and a lot of it at this point. Lots of reservists, basically.

  2. Their logistics relies 100% on a soviet era rail system. the slightest hiccup in the rail system can cause traffic ripples that go all the way back to Moscow, and each hiccup causes more hiccups. logistics wins wars and their is not designed for this. its designed for defense.

  3. Russian armor doctrine and design favored lowering the center of gravity and profile of armor - specifically tanks - making them harder to hit with conventional tank shells than more upright German/american models. They accomplished this design feat by putting all the munitions in the crew cabin. Unlike the Abrams, there is no blast/protection/isolation barrier between the tank rounds and the crew. Thats why you keep seeing T72s and even more modern tanks in Ukraine with their turrets 20 feet from the hull. A western supplied missile that strikes the weak surface armor doesn't have to totally disable the entire crew, only provide enough heat or shrapnel or whatever to set off one tank shell, which then sets off the other 20-30 which is how you get a 5 ton turret shooting 20 feet in the air. So these tanks get hit, and even if the tank can keep rolling the crews bails because they're terrified of the munitions. drone footage from the war shows - stupidly - infantry advancing with armor, often times walking along side of it. what's the blast radius on 20 shells going off at once and turning 8,000 bolts, screws, and rivets into a claymore mine?

  4. When Russia admitted 600 men lost at the end of the 2nd or so week, we can extrapolate from that a roughly 12x1 ratio of casualties to fatalities if we use the US ratio from GWOT. Say the russian medical system is worse, and its actually 9x1. That would be 5400 men wounded 600 KIA in 2 weeks. We're at day 85.

  5. morale has to be dog shit. the men have realized the body armor they were given is fiberglass and wool. they're stealing food and running out of gas. their newly designed AK12s are being fielded without optics because as it turns out the top rail cannot hold zero. but the rear sight block is now near the rear trunion of the AK and not the barrel trunion and it doesn't appear to hold zero. say what you will about the M16A2 being long in the tooth, its a reliable 2MOA gun. You can aim at someones chest and hit it. AK12? not the case, apparently. much improved magazine though. this isn't from NBC news or something this is from the AK forums of AK guys looking at images being posted by Russian and Ukranians finding the guns next to dead guys.

they succeeding in cutting off Mariupol, but if it took a reorganization and total effort of all russian ground forces plus local militia to spend 7 weeks capturing a city they already cutoff this all points to an extremely tough road to hoe. can they get it? idk, does putin have the political clout and support to send another Vietnam-level amount of bodies home in a bag? maybe. "quantity is a quality of its own" said Stalin.

1
WowStrongWinning 1 point ago +1 / -0

4
Tudor2904 4 points ago +4 / -0

Those are straight up europe prices

2
Boinger1988 2 points ago +2 / -0

5.69 here in the commie state of Illinois. 75 bucks for half a tank.

7
thisisatestof2 7 points ago +7 / -0

We shall see. Personally, I think if these high prices persist, demand will collapse by middle of July as people get in that one summer trip and then drastically cut back. Only time will tell.

8
PROCIsAsshoe 8 points ago +8 / -0

Demand destruction is already here. When read concurrently, Q1 Advance GDP + Q1 GDP Chain Deflator reveal that the dreaded demand destruction is already upon us. The print was published two weeks ago, maybe three. Sorry, I've forgotten. But yeah look at the state of the automotive mfr. and housing industries, it's abundantly clear that the rollover is here. It's not going to be the end of days but this is basically gravity reasserting control over our trajectory after the propping up of the economy via covid stimulus. Can't just shut things down abruptly, rain money on the problem and have things heal properly with the sort of stewardship/guiding hand we're receiving from Brandon.

6
sovereign_citizen 6 points ago +6 / -0

$6 will be nice if there is any gas left to be had. Some cities are already reporting shortages.

When China invades Taiwan I'm going to the grocery store and buying every non-perishable thing I can.

stratocaster_patriot 10 points ago +10 / -0

You and everyone else. Why are you waiting? Man I keep telling my family to get stuff and they don't and it pisses me off. It means they're going to be chewing my food as they say, "Yeah bro you called that one, good call." Yeah I did that in 2018 your jerks and ramped up again in 2020.

5
sovereign_citizen 5 points ago +5 / -0

I started prepping before COVID. I'll go to get whatever's left since it won't matter after that.

2
stratocaster_patriot 2 points ago +2 / -0

Gotcha. It's going to be funny seeing all the people who are going to want to trade us for food with their giant stack of Costco toilet paper. lol Nah I'm good bro, got my own plus a giant stack of old Guitar Player Magazine still.

2
RoosterHeadBad 2 points ago +2 / -0

Realistically, you can trade food for them to stay up all night and guard your house from looters while you get a great nights sleep.

3
Libertas_Vel_Mors 3 points ago +3 / -0

Most of my family will need to cross a large number of states to get here... with the price of gasoline, most won't afford it when it becomes too obvious to ignore.

I warned them as early as 2014, so I have no guilt on my conscience.

2
LurkNoMore 2 points ago +2 / -0

Same! I wrote a damned book about it! My family (outside my household) wouldn’t last a week without power, running water, and fast food. If SHTF, they’ll find no quarter here. I’ve warned them too many times.

2
RoosterHeadBad 2 points ago +2 / -0

Isn’t it so frustrating!?! Especially coming from married men with children. Like, Dude, fucking protect your family! They may as well be running around wearing the stupid mask 24/7. They are cowards and imbeciles.

8
stratocaster_patriot 8 points ago +8 / -0

Maybe in Repression? RecessiveShrinkFlation? I've honestly been hearing a lot of new words thrown around in economics circles. The experts are having to coin new terms in order to deal with what Biden and Fed has us in right now. They just don't know. No history to look to as a guide here. It's almost like every major type of disaster we've ever had rolled into one. That means civil war and genocide is all that hasn't happened yet.

2
RBK2 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah. I was like ten years old at the beginning of the recession, but this seems a whole lot worse already.

1
Boinger1988 1 point ago +1 / -0

But we’ll have windmills and solar panels.

67
SwampKraken 67 points ago +68 / -1

Stop paying Federal Taxes…

63
geckogreen 63 points ago +63 / -0

People couldn't even take off their masks in protest. I doubt you ever get enough people to stop paying tax

13
CMDRConanAAnderson 13 points ago +13 / -0

The amount of effort necessary to do that would be extraordinary. Would have to set up a year to do it in advance and millions willing to commit. The interesting part is you would only need 1 year to get it rolling. If it caught on, it would snowball like crazy once people learned how to manage it. Add some tax extensions and you have something interesting. We won't do it on year 1, that's quite obvious but that doesn't mean it's impossible.

18
Brooklyn_Patriot_76 18 points ago +18 / -0

it doesn't work that way when your employer withholds taxes in advance. they just lock up some evil employers and shut down their businesses. zero practical way to do this fren.

4
sovereign_citizen 4 points ago +5 / -1

Everyone take out max exemptions. Employers have no say in how many exemptions you can take. That's how you keep all your money. Then when it's time to pay Big Brother you either don't send in your form or you put in max exemptions. They'll have to audit you. If you refuse, they'll go after your bank to freeze your account. That's when we'll need another currency to break away from the system.

8
Libertas_Vel_Mors 8 points ago +9 / -1

IRS has that covered too - look up Withholding Compliance. You fuck with your W4, and they turn around and instruct your employer's HR department to withhold your shit at the Single Rate - No Dependents level. Takes a few letters and roughly 2 months to get them to knock it off, and even then they'll watch your shit for a year at least to ensure they get theirs.

5
sovereign_citizen 5 points ago +6 / -1

There is no getting through a civil war without pain, suffering, and sacrifice. Companies will have to rebel as well and pick a side. They won't until there is an alternative currency to switch to. Indeed, the first people will suffer the most.

3
thisguy883 3 points ago +3 / -0

The only time the government works is when they are looking to collect.

Good luck getting them to give a shit about paying you what they owe.

5
magabeans 5 points ago +5 / -0

Then you go to prison

3
sovereign_citizen 3 points ago +3 / -0

Only under the assumption the Sheriff allows them. We're talking about a peaceful rebellion leading up to a civil war at this point.

2

This is the saddest assessment of humanity. Because its true.

27
NullifyAndSecede 27 points ago +28 / -1

If a thousand men were not to pay their tax bills this year, that would not be a violent and bloody measure, as it would be to pay them, and enable the State to commit violence and shed innocent blood. This is, in fact, the definition of a peaceable revolution, if any such is possible.

— Henry David Thoreau

12
SwampKraken 12 points ago +12 / -0

Amen.

13
NullifyAndSecede 13 points ago +14 / -1

So these villains, who call themselves governments, well understand that their power rests primarily upon money. With money they can hire soldiers, and with soldiers extort money. And, when their authority is denied, the first use they always make of money, is to hire soldiers to kill or subdue all who refuse them more money.

For this reason, whoever desires liberty, should understand these vital facts, viz.: 1. That every man who puts money into the hands of a “government” (so called), puts into its hands a sword which will be used against him, to extort more money from him, and also to keep him in subjection to its arbitrary will. 2. That those who will take his money, without his consent, in the first place, will use it for his further robbery and enslavement, if he presumes to resist their demands in the future.

— Lysander Spooner

Laughs in above the table because you aren't getting 6 figures under the table. I pay the tax and I'm still better off and aweseom healthcare. I don't think working for cash is for everyone. Also, deposit more than $8999 at a time and the IRS gets flagged. Your mortgage probably doesn't allow cash payment either.

Here's what really happens. First, you get one of these:

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/understanding-your-letter-2801c

...then, if you fail to comply, they contact your employer and have your payroll department withhold the fuck out of your paycheck.

Now running one's own business or working for cash under-the-table is different, but most folks don't have either means of income.

They've not really done much with this compliance program until very, very recently., but rest assured, they have been gearing up...

4

You've probably never owned anything to get liened. And here's the really funny part - living in your mommy's basement won't protect you either. The first tax lien I had was against my parents house because it was my last permanent address (I went in military at 17). So, yea, tell me again child how "nothing happens".

2
Repentnow 2 points ago +2 / -0

Been there. Done that. I went many years with no drivers license, no "address", didn't file taxes for 12 years, etc. But it's not worth it. Now, we just concentrate on being successful and we have a CPA on our team who's job is to ensure that we legally, (without hiding), structure our family businesses & investments so that we owe very little tax. Telling people nothing will happen if they just stop paying their income tax is a lie.

Things decline fast in a banana republic, and that's what we officially became in 2021 when the illegitimate government was installed.

20
Bandanna1 20 points ago +20 / -0

I have to admit that as well. The only thing impressive about our current government is the rate in which they were able to accelerate the destruction of the economy. The problem is that for many that are able to think it is obvious that this is intentional as one could do less damage by accident or passively doing nothing.

5
stratocaster_patriot 5 points ago +5 / -0

That's how life works. You might be younger than me and haven't noticed that until now. People always seem to think there is time but once you identify the problem you act because it always up your butt before you have a chance to take a breath.

For me it was like, "Could we see a market correction next year?" Boom, I'm out of a lot of positions. Many will kick themselves for getting out and watching the gains they missed but those gaining will kick themselves even harder soon." I could have been wrong on that but my position still stands, life comes at you fast especially when the people in charge of us have no vision or solid plans.

We are going self sustaining and don't give a fuck about government (local or federal) telling us otherwise.

Not sure what your situation is, but if you have a decent sized lawn, get yourself a chicken tractor and some solar powered electric fencing. Feed bread, if you can find a bread store that sells their day olds for super cheap, plus a little extra stuff from your garden, and once in a while some layer feed if you want to ensure they lay an abundance of eggs. They should get most of their protein from bugs. Grab a few silkies to hatch the eggs, or just buy an incubator, unless the breed you raise is good at brooding. You can make brooding nests from plastic buckets and put them in the tractor if you build one big enough. There's a few decently sized meat chicken breeds that grow reasonably fast that are known for scrounging, and breeding well, but they aren't cornish crosses in terms of size and speed.

Buying the cornish cross chicks isn't terribly expensive, but you always lose a decent number of chicks, since they grow so damn fast that they tend to have health problems. But boy do they produce a lot of meat! Five weeks from hatching to slaughter if you're in a hurry. Give em a little extra time and they'll get even bigger. It's not hard to slaughter them, but I do recommend some kind of chicken plucker if you plan on raising enough meat to fill your freezer for the year. Doing it by hand is a lot more time consuming. One thing though I will say? Cornish Crosses just need a small chicken tractor and lots of food. They aren't really in to looking for their own. Just sitting on their ass and eating whatever you give them.

Love the advice. Definitely look into it again (we just have layers right now)

Yeah we are on a 1/4th acre in our town. No roosters are allowed. (and don't know how I can get away with having one for fertilization)

We do have a side yard for chickens to forage right now but want to open it up more. So yeah, I am in NEED of building a chicken tractor.

Next year I will be working on meat birds.

Been busy this year with getting started on beekeeping. We had 2 colonies, which one just swarmed yesterday (so now have 3).

This years spring has been amazing for vegetation and blooms.

PhoneBandit 8 points ago +8 / -0

My dad tried to do this. Lots of timber on his property and he wanted to build a small cabin. Builder told him the lumber has to be stamped or it'll fail inspection. Go figure.

6
Vermino 6 points ago +6 / -0

Oh no, not the inspection! What will I ever do without my OC approval from the king?!

Oh, that's right. 4th amendment. "Get off my fucking land."

(Not saying it towards you. This is towards government)

I do know some people that cut and use some green lumber that wraps like no other. But shit, the lumber I just purchased stamped a few months ago wasn't even kiln'd properly. Top dollar, inferior quality.

My dad tells me "you don't want to go against the building and planning or you will have to sell it with [non-conforming] rooms."

Its all a bunch of fearmongering! I see non-conforming homes go into pending within 48 hours of the listing. $200-300/sqft.

I hope your dad builds that cabin non stamped.

8
PhoneBandit 8 points ago +8 / -0

I think he's leaning towards it. We have lots of friends in the construction industry and good ole boy electricians right next door who would not care about an inspection. We were joking about just making a stamp. I mean how hard could it be?

8
ManfredH 8 points ago +8 / -0

Laser cutters will make a stamp. They're not exactly free, but if you have a maker space near you, chances are they have one. A few minutes watching tutorials on youtube and you'll know how to replicate the stamp from a photograph. Then you just need ink that's the same color.

6
PhoneBandit 6 points ago +6 / -0

This is the start of our parallel society.

1
TrappedRed_in_blue 1 point ago +1 / -0

Most libraries have maker spaces now in them, you just walk in and start using in most cases. Don't even need to sign in if you bring all your supplies and just need the machine.

I haven’t seen that from the libs of the world, only the White House is pretending this isn’t Biden’s fault. Definition of "Hostile"

of or relating to an enemy

marked by malevolence : having or showing unfriendly feelings

openly opposed or resisting

(1): not hospitable

(2): having an intimidating, antagonistic, or offensive nature

Bahahaha, what a fucking clown. a hostile act is not a literal attack, per the definitions I posted here. you are the dumbass guy lmaooo sorry, you are just a fool that got wrecked twice. I know you want to believe you are somehow smart, but it's time to wake up (you are not whatsoever). An act of hostility is not required to be a literal attack in any manner. If you're in Tennessee you're fine. Housing prices are completely unhinged here still, despite what the rest of the country is doing. If you're not... well, good luck, you're going to need it!

2
Jack_HinsonTN 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah, north GA is getting some of our spillover, but overall is quite a bit more sane than the market here.

0
CheeksMcClap 0 points ago +2 / -2

Unhinged....I do not think that means what you think it does.

6
Jack_HinsonTN 6 points ago +6 / -0

Disconnected from reality? Insane? The Tennessee housing market is exactly that.

7
Powdered_Sugar 7 points ago +7 / -0

It's not just TN. Texas pede here. My wife and I bought our home two years ago. We wouldn't be able to come close to affording it now. We moved in right before the lockdowns. Thank God too. We both chalk the timing up to providence.

7
Jack_HinsonTN 7 points ago +7 / -0

Unfortunately, people are going to be unable to pay their loans soon. Foreclosures will surge like last time, and banks will start to lose money while the bubble pops. Obama recession part 2: Electric... you know, the thing.

2
Powdered_Sugar 2 points ago +2 / -0

As long as they didn't overextended when they purchased... And don't lose their job... People should be okay.

That's a big if though.

This is going to be bad.

5
Jack_HinsonTN 5 points ago +5 / -0

Unfortunately I work with more than a few who overextended. And know a bunch more. They thought the Trump economy would stick around and it'd be ok.

-1
Brooklyn_Patriot_76 -1 points ago +1 / -2

foreclosures? no way. reduced purchasing, yes. this is a way for the gubmint to funnel money to Blackrock, who has already gobbled up more single family homes than anyone - to rent them out.

you will own nothing, and you will be happy.

2
Jack_HinsonTN 2 points ago +2 / -0

Foreclosures will happen when people can no longer afford $3000 a month on their loans. And with inflation, that's already begun. Now, I expect Blackrock to swoop in and scoop all of them up they can afford, but that's after Foreclosures start. They're floating overhead like a vulture waiting to feast.

1
Dave___Smith 1 point ago +1 / -0

Idk man, maybe we’re unhinged for thinking they’ll ever come down. MORE THAN HALF of the US dollars circulating were printed in the last 2 years.. maybe the housing market just adjusted to the true inflation while everything else lagged behind.

1
Goozmania 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's every state in the country, except for Michigan. The Inland Empire of southern California currently has the worst of it, with housing costs increased over 40% in just 12 months. Yes, the average mortgage in May 2021 was $1600. It is now $2400. This is unbelievable and unsustainable.

-1
CheeksMcClap -1 points ago +1 / -2

Wait, so you are trying to be confusing and or contradictory? Post is about rising cost of housing. Your comment starts out saying that if you are in TN you are fine. Then you say housing prices are unhinged which you define as insane or disconnected from reality suggesting they are very high and the opposite of fine. This is followed up with despite what the rest of the country is doing which is going through what could be described as unhinged housing market. Closing out with good luck if you aren't in TN cause you are going to need it. So if the pricing is unhinged across the nation and unhinged in TN how are you fine if you are in TN but need luck everywhere else? Do you see what I am getting at?

3
Jack_HinsonTN 3 points ago +3 / -0

Are you retarded? The person I replied to was talking about SELLING a house. If you're selling in Tennessee, the market is ludicrously high ($250,000 for a double wide trailer on less than an acre, for example) and demand is far outpacing supply, so a seller is fine. A buyer is royally fucked though. Outside of Tennessee, housing prices nationwide have fallen on average 4% a month since January. If you're selling there, you're no longer going to get as much- and that's only going down. Prices for housing nationwide are not unhinged- they are behaving exactly as expected in a pre-recession phase. Tennessee is "unhinged" because there is no way it's even remotely sane to pay the kinds of prices people are here for the kinds of homes they are.

-1
CheeksMcClap -1 points ago +2 / -3

You are smoking crack, I'm sure of it. Housing prices are falling nationwide? It isn't the housing that is unhinged in TN, it's you. Selling or buy, prices are jacked up everywhere. My home sits on 50 acres in VA, was built in 93 and cost me 300,000 in 2017. In the last year it shot up to an estimated value around 450,000 per what I just paid taxes on. Same with all other places I've looked at. Not seriously looking, I just like to see what could have been if I was looking now. I don't limit myself to my own state. I look all over. EVERYTHING IS UP. Rent is up, sale and buy prices are up.

3
Jack_HinsonTN 3 points ago +3 / -0

Average is decreasing. Hotspots are not seeing it yet, but it's there. In particular, I've been seeing it in rural properties. You're not seeing it because you're looking in the last places effected by a drop, where you won't see a change until a recession is in full swing. 6 Months ago rural properties were selling the same as city properties (that is to say, severely overpriced and immediately), now they're dropping in price multiple times before being bought while remaining on the market weeks or more. And your house with 50 acres? Here, within 45 minutes' drive of one of our major cities that's worth a minimum of $1.8 million, higher the closer you are. Condition of the house isn't even much of a factor either. If it's crap it would get dozed and new houses built on the land and it split up.

2
julianleroux 2 points ago +2 / -0

We have been in a recession for 30 or 40 years. Democrats, leftists, and now communists have tirelessly worked to force two parent households into the workforce. We can no longer afford to start families and if this is progress, why don't we have an equitable amount of stay-at-home dads?

Their entire canvas of ideas is fraudulent.

Home builder "sentiment" is bullshit, they are colluding with the government to suppress inventory levels. This needs to get fucking fixed.

5

We have been in a recession for 30 or 40 years.

This is the Galaxy Brain take.

3
Brooklyn_Patriot_76 3 points ago +3 / -0

this guy gets it ^

our buying power has been shrinking and we didn't notice on account of getting slave wages in China.

2
ManfredH 2 points ago +2 / -0

You're not wrong, but it's also worth pointing out that the market is over priced due to foreign buyers (China mostly.) buying up our nations homes as a tax free investment. Since we can't get their actual tax figures from China, they can claim the homes as a business loss even if they made a profit on them, and still not pay taxes on them.

Then the value of the homes goes up regardless, due to the shortage of homes being sold to actual Americans. Realtors are happy to contribute to the situation because if they sell the house, regardless of who to, they get paid. Then they donate en masse to both political parties to protect them from the consequences. Some of the biggest political donations come from realtors. And of course China is happy to cause a housing crisis in America, since it benefits them politically and economically. If you say anything about it, they cry racism.

2
Dictator_Bob 2 points ago +2 / -0

Not Realtors, NAR (national association of realtors). One of the most powerful lobbies in the world. Realtors would be quite happy with higher inventory and a stronger first time home buyers program. Powerful lending institutions, brokerages, and some Realtors would oppose certain rules that would help Americans first.

We need more than this. We need massive strategic and fiscal reform. The lifetime of debt is fictitious economics and completely usurious. Home ownership should be easy to accomplish within a seven year window for any new family. This will not serve the interest of capital yield harvesting and that must be addressed. It will take time to handle this.

To start, the state can work on improving accessibility to first time home buyers. It can then work to help them keep those homes for their lifetime. So long as they are doing so responsibly and within their means. This can also include loosening regulations and taxes on builders who are interested in serving their country. And profiting greatly by doing so.

Finally, the standard of living does not have to decrease. Every median laborer should have the ability to work towards a modest home. They should be able to, with commitment, afford it cash outright within seven years time. And if not they should be able to access a lending facility that will release them of that debt by that seven years time.

After this, speculators or investors can have their yield.

If we cannot do this then we know the system is broken. It clearly is.
