Off topic: I am a die hard Batman fan. I have bought the comics for years. Batman is an amazing character. I was excited for the new Batman movie, the trailer actually looked good. Had to turn that shit off in the first five minutes. The mayor of Gotham, Don Jr - no joke, was murdered brutally. He wanted to build a sea wall for protection and to make Gotham great again. I'm glad I didn't pay to see it.

That shit was so horrible. I gave it 30 minutes and sat on my phone shit posting for the remainder of the turd of a film

I noped out when I heard about the white privilege line. I liked comics too, but there aren't any decent writers left there. My advice? Switch to manga and anime. I started with My Hero Academia. Great stuff, and if you like it and want something a little darker, the spinoff, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is great too. One Punch Man, Naruto, Rising of the Shield Hero, and, of course, Demon Slayer. Great stuff.

MHA started really strong, but the latest chapters have been ass. The author is trying to wrap it up and rushing the story. I'm enjoying One Piece, have been for years. The latest fight with one of the emperors has had some pacing issues, but not bad. Not a fan of the Demon Slayer ending, it also seemed rushed. Can't wait for the next season of Rising of the Shield Hero - I have only seen the anime. Do you recommend the manga?

I'm all over the place since I recently got into both, so I'm only up with the collected editions on MHA and Vigilantes. I loved the most recent of both. Demon Slayer I've only been watching the anime, so I don't know the ending. Shield Hero I'm only on the Anime. The current season seems to be coming out and I've heard lots of people think they're trying to speed through an arc because it didn't seem to go over that well. I've only seen 1 episode of season 2. Fine for a setup but nothing amazing. I do like that they end and have just one author's vision. That setup is superior to comics, IMO.

How about Black Clover?

Hear_The_Lions_Sing 3 points ago +3 / -0

Haven't tried that one. There's so much to watch when you're new to it that it's almost overwhelming. Is it good?

Don't watch it in Japanese. Asta is annoying as fuck in the sub. He's way more tolerable in the dub.

Best I've seen in a while, but I'm not a TV person.

Overlord is a good one to watch. I like the light novel a lot better because of the pacing. I watch way more anime than I care to admit (though a bit less in recent years), so I can give tons of recommendations over a broad spectrum of anime genres.

By the end of the third season I wanted the main character to die in as brutal and horrible a fashion as necessary, though. Dude is a degenerate villain

lostgenius1 2 points ago +2 / -0

I think that's the point. It is an interesting transition to watch his humanity fade and him become a literal villain.

Light Novels are great too. The Empty Box and the Zero'th Maria is hands down one of the best light novels of all time. No Game No Life is extremely good as well.

+1 for My Hero Academia.

I am here!

The Batman was a straight up letdown. Didn't live up the years of hype at all. There was really nothing memorable about the movie and the fighting was garbage. I'll give the benefit of the doubt that it was only Batman's second year, but come on. The only thing I liked about the movie was Colin Farrell as Penguin and The Batmobile.

It isn't a Batman movie. Replace batman with Adrian Monk and except for a few fight scenes, you have the same movie.

It was sorta memorable how hard they ripped off that scene from Se7en where they bust into the killers apt and read his crazy rankings from the multitude of notebooks lying around 😂 🤷‍♂️It made me appreciate Se7en a lot

I honestly didn't get that far. Just too political for me off the jump.

Yeah I'm just saying you didn't miss much lol. I was ready to turn it off as soon as Zoe Kravitz's (who I despise to begin with) Catwoman said a stupid one-liner about "white privilege".

I actually liked it. I was never hyped for it and ignored it. Didn't really care to even torrent it, but eventually did.

It seems they borrowed heavily from Netflix's Daredevil and Jessica Jones. There wasn't really any noteworthy fights though, Daredevil is so much better.

Pattison seems to be a good Bruce Wayne / Batman, but he just looks so frail and as Bruce. He walks awkwardly and his lower legs bend inward. The best shot of his legs is when he is walking to Penguin's upside down car.

I like how they made the themes so obvious and simplistic to understand. He called himself vengeance for the whole, then the villains do too right after they do something horrific. In response, he rebirths himself as an obvious symbol of hope after getting shocked and falling in water, only to lead innocents with a single light source after saving them. There aren't really any complex layers or nuance to it. More movies should be like that.

Also, we learn how his avoidance of Bruce's responsibilities can lead to consequences and how he needs balance. That's a very JBP message, where you can't ignore parts of your life without it blowing up in your face and sending you to hell.

I found myself to appreciate the bat signal more. They almost turned it into a character, by giving it some weight. Batman wouldn't be Batman without it and it separates him from all the other similar comic book characters.

The movie does have a lot of problems and stupidities however.

I'm somewhat tempted to make my own cut of it. I'd remove the "white, privileged a-holes" line, probably cut the murder of the mayor scene (very first scene). I like how the movie begins if it didn't start with that scene. It makes sense why they put it first though, since that leads to the bat signal being lit, which then eventually leads to him being invited into the crime scene of that murder. It wouldn't work switched around, but it would work if the murder scene was just removed, or maybe just spliced into the compilation of crime happening under the bat signal.

Dude Jessica Jones is the most boring show I have ever seen. It's SJW trash with a garbage ass protagonist. Her abilities are so boring and the fight scenes are a complete joke. I don't understand how people called it a good TV series like what are they smoking.

David Tennant was great in S1. After that it was total ass.

Jtenten 1 point ago +1 / -0

His rebrand to hope after hearing the riddler call himself vengeance was pretty great. And you have a good point about the bat signal. So much potential with an early Batman movie.

Cat woman may have had as much screen time as Batman, and what an embarrassment that actress is. She ruined the movie.

Overall, 4/10.

You’re lying. No die hard fan would turn off a movie in 5 minutes, very few people turn off any movie in 5 minutes. We are expected to believe you’re a “die hard Batman fan” yet didn’t even wait for Batman to appear on screen? GTFO you little turd 💩

Here’s a question about 2000 Mules…

Why did Dinesh use a map of Moscow, and call it Gwinnett county, instead of using the actual map of Gwinnett County?

1
ihatedemocrats 1 point ago +1 / -0

Maybe because you might as well have voted in Russia for how much it was counted? Who knows.

1
Ep1ctetus 1 point ago +1 / -0

The point is, Dinesh presented the map in the film as thought I was the map of Gwinnett County, which it is not.

Thus, he presented information that was not true. Why?
