No WE have been controlled by foreign powers who have been in existence longer than we’ve been alive. If we all got together tomorrow and (did what exactly?) stormed the Capitol with guns, we’d be exterminated like cockroaches by the governments helicopters and machine guns and drones.

Let’s pretend we were are together right now. What’s your plan? We boycott gas? We take over a state or two? Wtf are we supposed to do? Food and gas is ALREADY scarce enough when we have jobs, you want us all to quit working to “stick it to the man” or some shit and then what? We’d all starve in a week cause no one is delivering food and we can’t go get it without gas.

So shut your fucking mouth and quit acting like you’re general Washington unless you plan on leading all of us into some grand plan of action that doesn’t require half of us to starve and all of us to give up everything we’ve ever known

3
CelebratoryGunfire 3 points ago +3 / -0

You can’t boycott that you are married and reliant on, true

What do you think we do?

The idea here is to plan, spread the word, stop being a defeatist and when the time is right…

Not accounting for exchange rate, diesel in canada is almost the equivalent of 9.50 a gallon.

Even with current exchange, that's still 7.50 a gallon, so the price on that gas tank above would have been ~1900

No wonder shit is so expensive in stores. Gallon of milk at my local market has gone up almost a dollar in a fucking year.

5
empiretc 5 points ago +5 / -0

a few weeks ago, a buddy filled his rig in commiefornia. Cost him $2k @ $8.05

Everything in the store is fucking expensive. Cannot get a gallon of milk for less than $4 any more. ground beef is $5/lb!

4

This $5 ground beef of which you speak; what percent fat is it?

3

They should legalize tandem trailers everywhere so you could hook up a giant solar array as the second trailer. Of course you might need a triple trailer rig for winter in the upper Midwest.

If crony capitalists had their way it would be already $10 gas everywhere via price gouging. And fuck big business CEOs and the other ones at the top. They all conspired with the govt since the beginning of the China virus to take in record profits and gave themselves fat bonuses while shutting down small businesses.

9
dr_gonzo 9 points ago +9 / -0

It's amazing isn't it? The damn world is falling apart before our eyes. Little things you'd never even think of.

Today I tried to setup a haircut appointment. I called 4 different places and the soonest appointment I could get was June 15th. A freaking month from now. It's like wtf?

Then tonight we went to dinner. I ordered some fried chicken and they had none. Said they haven't had any for 3 weeks, and don't know when they will have it again.

Everywhere you go it's some new calamity. THIS is the left's America.

10
Dirk_Diggler 10 points ago +10 / -0

C’mon man! Look at the bright side: Once supply shortages take over, there won’t be anything to haul. Just think of all of that savings in fuel!

And save this post for later because I have got a free future headline for you: “Why food shortages are good for gas prices.”

8
sir_rockness 8 points ago +8 / -0

Damn semi-trucks hold 260 gallons of diesel?

11
Crappydatum 11 points ago +11 / -0

Some hold 500 gallons. I'm guessing his tanks weren't empty

6
empiretc 6 points ago +6 / -0

looks like he only filled one tank

3
zippy2 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think his card was only approved for 1400 even.

Back in the day, your gas card would only auth for $100 and the pump would stop before you were done.

3
empiretc 3 points ago +3 / -0

it still is $100. went to Wally World to fill the truck a few days ago, and it did not get full. Pump cut off at $100.

at truck stops, there is no limit.

2
yuge_covfefe 2 points ago +2 / -0

For me it was 100$ until a few weeks ago. About the time diesel hit $5, they raised it to 150$. (I still hit the limit and had to start a new txn.)

2
empiretc 2 points ago +2 / -0

yep, most places are going to have to start doing that. $100 doesn't go very far anymore.

2
HEXEN 2 points ago +3 / -1

Yup. On many you can go 2100 miles before needing to fill up again.

2
Cesare_Borgia 2 points ago +4 / -2

They get 3 to 5 mpg ish.

2
HyperCarbs 2 points ago +2 / -0

Why don't they just buy an electric semi?!

2
CrankHandler1991 2 points ago +2 / -0

Eh,Petes and Kenworths with the classic style do. Or heavy haulers.

Most of the newer models, especially the aerodynamic ones like Volvo VNL or Freightliner cascadias(so nearly all trucks on the road these days) pull 7-8 mpg.

$5.359

9
Cyer6 9 points ago +9 / -0

I don't see how this can be sustained. Even here in TX I just saw over $5/gal for diesel. I guess if the truckers are compensated well enough for their fuel prices they will keep moving product but if not, the life blood of our country comes to a complete stop.

I guess this has to happen to an extreme level for it to reach the smooth brained normies.

3
MobileDev4Trump 3 points ago +3 / -0

With all the shortages and China locked down there probably isn't a lot to move around and it's gonna get worse.

2
Junionthepipeline 2 points ago +2 / -0

Fuel surcharges are a thing.

4
empiretc 4 points ago +4 / -0

buddy paid $8.05 in commiefornia.

4
Crappydatum 4 points ago +4 / -0

How many mpg does that tractor trailer combo get? 6-8?

So maybe 1500-2000 miles?

8
empiretc 8 points ago +8 / -0

6-8 EMPTY, if they are lucky.

4-6 loaded depending on load, and if they are not going up hill with minimal wind.

4
Crappydatum 4 points ago +4 / -0

Ouch. I was hoping they had better fuel economy by now. My son used to work for Kenworth.

If it was electric, that would work out to needing 12 megawatts of batteries for half the range…

At times cost per megawatt (like Texas right now) goes up to $4000/mwh. If the transport fleet goes all electric, we might be pining for the days of $5 diesel

5
empiretc 5 points ago +5 / -0

Pops used to have a trucking company back in the 50s. The shit he is seeing today leaves him speechless.

All electric will never work for OTR. We may be lucky to get a self driving truck, but even that is a long way off.

4
SOL170 4 points ago +4 / -0

Diesel @ $6.52 in So Cal, $5.76 in NV. Spent $2700 in fuel this week and another $250 on diesel to run the reefer. Kind of sucks because there’s loads out there but a ton of downward pressure on rates from the brokers. Turned down some loads because we would be running barley at cost or the margins are so thin it’s not worth the gamble. One blown tire and there goes your profit, plus your just racking up miles and depreciating your asset and your body for nothing.

1
zippy2 1 point ago +1 / -0

Those brokers get bad raps. They often win deals only because bid is lowest which is all market driven. The margins are thin and when they underbid it -- they are the ones who take the hit on it every time.

4
Morgoth 4 points ago +4 / -0

2
Tugboatguy 2 points ago +2 / -0

My last yacht (thankfully that I sold) was 81 foot long and had 2 fuel tanks that held a total of 7,O00 gallons of Diesel fuel for it's twin Cummins engines. That's $43,750 bucks to fill her up in today's price. When the yacht was built in 1958 it cost $2,100. To fill it up.

2
bob123456789 2 points ago +3 / -1

261 gallons = 1044 litres

1044 litres = 1.34$ a litre

Now imagine you live just above America in Canada...we've been paying 1.34 a litre for over a decade.

Ours is up to 2.10 a litre...that is 8.40 a gallon

8.40 a gallon X 261 gallon = 2192

No, you American's don't know what high gas prices are...you never will relative to the rest of us, be thankful for that

9

2

100% fact, but how much is also dependent on the load. $700 vs $1400 nets $700 increase but if your load in 50,000 of X, it would likely only go up a very small X amount. Inversely, if its a load of 50 refrigerators or whatever, the product goes up a larger % in price.

According to the leftist groups I follow, the government controlling oil companies with a windfall tax or investigating what they get to define as gouging as the only solution. I suggested at minimum start by having a gas tax holiday. That won’t work because oil companies will just raise prices to offset the measly 20¢. It HAS to be more government and more taxes that’s the only way. And as our first undocumented, jogger, lesbian, bitch says the “rich” need to pay there fair share, then viola inflation drops, gas prices drops and we suddenly have EQUITY for everyone (except white males, we still have reparations to pay boys).
