They don’t teach it because they don’t understand it. The average teacher “specialized” in drama, English, or social studies. They also don’t pay back their student loans.
You'd need entire towns and cities to participate and that would require people having each other's backs when shit gets rough. Otherwise they'll just pick off people one by one and make examples of enough of them to scare the remainder.

Saying "we need to teach personal finance in schools" is just a "feel good" thing, akin to saying "we need to plant fruit trees on sidewalks to feed the homeless."
The reality is that the vast majority of personal finance is discipline; something that can only be taught at home. Discipline both to follow a budget and also discipline to look up how relatively basic concepts like taxes work, and stay up to date on the constant changes.

If/when they are taught more specific personal finance topics, like how taxes work, that knowledge is not immediately relevant to the student, and isn't "built" upon, so it will simply be entirely forgotten.
And nobody needs to be "taught" how to do a budget. Everyone with basic math skills can intuit how to create a budget. The tricky part is always following one. And the actual budgeting style that works best for you is going to be different from others'.
The vast majority of stuff taught in school is immediately forgotten after the test.
If you actually sat down and read - and remembered - what was in all your high school textbooks, you'd be shitfaced at how much you've learned.

You can make jokes about how you don't remember any calculus, but you sure as shit know how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. And, even if you don't remember how to do long division by hand, you've retained what is important which is what division actually does, and when to use it.
The same goes for reading, albeit to a lesser extent and I disagree heavily with how that's "reinforced" currently.
History is taught extremely poorly. It could be taught in a way that constantly reinforces what was learned earlier, but it isn't. How can a country run well with zero tax? There has to be some kind of tax to fund the military or to help pay for a sick kid somewhere with parents making less than the best wage and faced with a million dollar bill.
I think the current levels of tax are theft but this is a serious question.
No one is advocating for zero tax. Just not a payroll tax, income tax, sales tax, gas tax, alcohol tax, property tax, capital gains tax, early IRA withdrawal tax, inheritance tax, and whatever else I’m missing all at fucking once. Especially when 30 goddamn percent of the money you make is taken from you before you even see it. Currently military spending accounts for roughly 15-20% of annual budget. You know what the other 80% is? Fucking welfare. So tax us all 10% and quit compounding it and get rid of the lazy useless people and illegal immigrants and free shit programs and about 90% of useless govt jobs and we’d have a surplus. That’s how.
For many years, the Fair Tax people and the Flat Tax people have been mathematically proving that the current systems are rigged but their options would be transparent, equitable and easily cover necessary costs.
Check both out, decide which you like better and join them to educate more overtaxed sufferers.
It would be better. Currently the withholding gives people the impression of a “refund” that they can go spend on booze and toys. If at the end of the year you the average working guy owed a lump $5-$15K, there’d be a revolt.
...and yet, one of the largest expansions of the middle class happened during an era of very high taxation.
People need to get a grip on the difference between: Payroll Tax, Income Tax, Gains Tax, Excise taxes, and Corporate taxes. More importantly, they should understand how much from each is used to fund the government.
It's the change between these categories which has marked the decline of the middle class. In the 1950s, a citizen was expected to chip in about 50% of the cost of running government. Today, your share is 85%.
Tons of politicians will talk about taxes until they're blue in the face. Ask them if they understand the above. If they don't. They're just lying to you.
Let's assume no one paid any tax, as I think many are proponents of here. How do we finance the Military? The cost of the military is huge and without a sufficient military, we would be wiped off the map.
We don't need to have as large of a standing army as we have now for starters. Second our technology is vastly superior especially the classified tech, so there is no need to have the same numbers of infantry as previous times especially when we have the strongest militia of any country to protect the homeland. Third we would fund it as laid out in article 1 section 8. Most of our military budget is wasted and laundered for stupid shit such as buying and decommissioning ships within 5 years. Our military hasn't fought a real actual war in over 50 years, sticking to real wars would also help.
Here’s another neat trick: the tax brackets don’t have COLA, so as your income goes from $70k to $100k in a few years to match inflation, the IRS gets to take an even bigger bite, even though you aren’t any better off in spending power.
Bracket creep is one of the favorite games of tax and steel people’s. The good news is with inflation, soon we will all be millionaires. The bad news is that million dollars will get you extra foam on your latte at Starbucks.
Fall child. If you don’t remember the inflation of the 70s/80s the summer child might be you 😄. Especially for professionals, annual wage increases factored in both past and expected inflation. 10%+ annual increases just to pace inflation were common. This is why the inflation genie is so hard to put back in the bottle: no one wants to back down first. In-demand talent will bolt if employers don’t keep up. This is why Paul Volcker jacked interest rates to nearly 20%. It ranked the economy hard, guaranteed Carter would lose, and finally reined in inflation.
After inflation makes 1.00 50c theyll give u a 2% tax cut an the seals will clap even though their taxes went up a shitload an ur standard of living plummeted.
Sure. So did I. But I don't get why people play these games, as if inflation weren't happening. If wages were actually keeping up with real-world inflation, let's say, for instance, the value of silver, the 33¢ my father made picking strawberries on a neighbor's farm as a kid would be around $14 an hour today. And that was childhood farm labor, exempt from minimum wage, which was $1.15 at the time. Using the value of silver, which was what was backing the currency at the time, the minimum wage's real value was about $40 an hour.
And? Just because the price of one good hasn't changed, that means the cost of living hasn't risen across the board? You sound like a good applicant to be Biden's new press secretary.
Feel some sympathy for people complaining about these kids today. They don't realize that against the real value of currency, on average and with notable exceptions, they've probably never had a significant raise in their entire lives.
This is me. Since 2015, every raise I've earned has been offset by increased cost of living. I've never been able to save more than $1000 a month and I'm making $10k more than I was in 2015.
Absolutely not! That kind of game-playing is part of what got us here. End immigration for at least a solid decade, bring back manufacturing, and put tariffs on foreign trade. Drop taxes altogether. The government can fund itself by printing money, and put tight regulations on that. End the Fed. Bind the dollar to a real world commodity. If we do all that, we'll have a painful, temporary economic dip, but in the long run the economy will be stronger for it.
Also, restore copyright and patent laws to their original dimensions, and pass right-to-repair legislation.
Like a body warming by the fire, take care of the core, and the extremities will warm themselves. The real value of wages will rise on it's own.
No you can solve the wage issue by banning illegals, cutting down on H1B1s and other immigrants, and getting rid of welfare that allows people to take low paying jobs which otherwise wouldn't be worth taking.
Yeah, but when you made $3.35, money still had some value. Even according to official inflation rates, which we all know are garbage, like Biden's turkey hot dog barbeque, your $3.35 would be more like $10-11 today.
Just because one or two commodities are relatively cheaper doesn't mean the overall cost of living hasn't gone up. In 04 rent was a third of what it is now, in most places.
Yep, by law there are only employees and contractors. That's it. End of discussion.
But every company in the world wants to get cute and muddy the waters, calling their workers "team members" or "associates" or "cast members." They call contractors things like "contingent workers" or "temporary workers."
It's just one of many corporate-speak euphemisms you need to translate back to actual english.
Typical restaurant worker, pretending you have the hardest jobs on the planet. Waiting is not that difficult. Why don’t you pat yourself on the back some more, crack open a beer and shut the fuck up.
Seriously.. have you ever gone out to dinner with people in the food industry?? They are the worst. God forbid you mildly inconvenience the waitress by asking for some extra ketchup with your fries. They act like we should be kissing the wait staff’s feet and worshiping the ground they walk on. Oh, and don’t even think about tipping less than 50% or you’re going to hell.
I’m sure he wasn’t talking about waiting. Probably cooking. But go ahead and continue being a Douchebag. I bet you probably sit at a desk all day. Or under one.
“I had bad experience at restaurant once! All restaurant worker bad!” “They’re not all bad.” “HOLY SHIT YOU FUCKING FAGGOT SHUT UP THEY ARE!!!!!” And the third response gets all the upvotes. Thus proving this community is officially Reddit 2.0. Congrats, you retards.
I sound retarded? He’s the one claiming every single restaurant worker is the same as wait staff. Restaurant workers don’t even like the wait staff. I’m amazed at how ridiculous the people here are becoming. Also, not a single thing in his comment implied what he does. Unless you’re implying that only trade laborers go out to eat with wait staff. Which I guess I could understand. And it’s funny you assume I don’t do hard labor. Nothing I’ve said has mentioned what I do for work. I have absolutely no extra respect for trade workers just because they chose a particular job. I won’t glorify a roofer for doing a hard job. He gets paid for what he chose to do. Just as I do.
Try something like roofing where its 130+ degrees up on the roof. Or a production line where its 95% humidity and 120 degrees and you're doing physical labor.
I haven't worked in a restaurant in 40 years, and I didn't claim it was the hardest job. I also did tree work starting when I was 15. Climbing and limbing with a chainsaw was far more difficult, but didn't require the temwork.
Fellow service industry worker here. Don't be disillusioned. Also, remember that people working in retail (and about every other industry) will typically look down on you as 'lesser' for just making/serving food.
Fuck off you entitled restaurant faggot. Restaurant work is easy as fuck you weak bitch.
Try something like roofing where its 130+ degrees up on the roof. Or a production line where its 95% humidity and 120 degrees and you're doing physical labor.
Everyone acting like I’ve never roofed before. When I first got out of the military I was in construction. Did concrete and roofing. Cooking in a restaurant has its own challenges, I just hate people who get this big head about what they do, and everything else is “easy.”
Coming from a guy who’s probably never worked a 16 hour shift in a hot ass kitchen. I’ve done both. They both suck. Everyone assumes “restaurant work” means waiting tables. The cooks in the back of a busy restaurant don’t have it easy.
The logic missing from your response is astounding. It’s amazing how stupid the people here are becoming. Let’s just fight amongst ourselves exactly the way they want us to.
Please tell me where I proved I was incapable of hard work. Point it out, the exact words I said that prove that. If you can’t, then shut the fuck up and stop being a bitch.
After seeing our government spend roughly $8 trillion over the past 3 years, we could totally have free college and healthcare. Not that I'm for those things, but if you're gonna steal our money, at least give us something for our investment. It's better than giving thst money to Pakistan or Ukraine.
No one is going to travel by train to get when they need to be if it takes three or even two days cross-country, when they can be there before lunch the same day.
Regional passenger rail between large population centers is logical, cross country high-speed passenger rail would never pay for itself.
Regional rail between cities would work for cross-country rail too. Just have to change trains at the hubs. A lot of people refuse to fly believe it or not.
3 days is what it would take with train tech from the early 1900s (based on rough math using Chicago's South Shore train schedule) which is about 90mph... Supposedly high speed rail is 190-220mph... So coast to coast would take about 30 hours
& I'm not sure you've traveled by plane lately, but that shit takes frickin forever, too. Just going from great lakes to Florida eats up most of your day
I can go to the closest airport right now, be there inside of thirty minutes, have plenty of time to check in and be in Tampa by five this afternoon by direct flight and I live pretty near a Great Lake.
Crew changes don't take any time. Refueling doesn't take much time. Ever heard of the iron range? Some of, if not the harshest weather conditions in the country... Didn't have a problem with rail even a hundred years ago.
You can check flights all you want: I just did 2 round trips last year... Eats up most the day & that's only half the distance of coast to coast
My fifteen year old daughter started her own business last year selling K-Pop memorabilia, and now she's one of the most staunch anti-taxation people I've ever met.
Just yesterday she was mentioning the price of gas and how even pumping gas was taxed in our state. Then she went off on a whole list of unfair taxes that we have to pay.
Right on Dad, It's been my experience that kids / young adults, given a reasonable amount of proper guidance, (read how to think critically) tend to "get it" on their own. Unfortunately much of this critical thinking is crushed out of them by wonders of modern education theory and the state run school system and or can get lost in the noise of being an adult for those without a good foundation.
Yup. We’re are really close, that $15 an hour everyone was crying for a few years ago is already not enough to keep up with inflation. Gas stations like Bucees advertise their starting wage is $17 ($19 if you work overnight)
The withholdings/refund system has got to be one of the most nefarious systems.
It very much hides how much a person is actually paying in taxes, and instead makes it seem like you're getting money from taxes. You can see the numbers, but we all know there's a huge difference between seeing a number on a line on your paystub and actually writing a check to the government after being paid.
And, possibly the worst part, is people who truly are getting money from "their taxes" (people whose credits exceed their tax liability, which is actually pretty common) don't even realize they're leeching off the system. So they can say "I pay my taxes" because they see the number coming out, not realizing they get more back than they put in at the end of the year. And, since they don't know, they can't even remotely be grateful.
Honestly the kids graduating college now at 22 or 23/24 with masters degrees are as stupid as this. A good number of them never worked a day in their lives. They didn't learn much about taxation in their gender studies class.
They have their graduation parties at the bar I work at and in my head I think "Congrats on graduating but I know you will desperately drop off your resume in a few months..."
Because the media runs the narrative a la lockdowns, fact checking.. canceling. They're heavily biased. To the point of faux news being one and the same. Fox was good for warhawking Chaney and criticizing a brown suit. Mercers? If you believe in an information war you must fight it. There's a lot of glowy spooks and VIPs on this board that constantly post.
You overcame it, you sound happy. They own so much money its about power now. Your money in the bank (under the mattress?) It's theirs stills. As they say, you'll own nothing and be happy. Don't blame the media, or the teachers, or professors, blame the ordinary people because they didn't fight hard enough?
The debt jubilee isn't coming through for our nuclear engineers, clean and efficient, as long as no false flags occurred.
Same, my parents forced me to work at 15, and I was always thought about finances. My dad is a financial advisor. To this day all of my friends ask me questions like I’m their HR department and financial advisor, not over complicated stuff either, basic shit. Then these people wonder why I’m the same age, same career, but have exponentially more money than them. People don’t know shit and the school system has totally failed in this regard.
My dad had me help him out with the math so he could decide between 401k vs ira when I was 15. Looking back, obviously he could have done the math himself. But I learned to exploit matches and loopholes, and now my friends treat me like a financial advisor.
My staff asks if they can NOT report all their tips so they actually get a paycheck instead of their check entirely going to cover taxes on their tipped income. Hahaha hopefully saying "no, all income made here must be reported" opens just a few eyes.
Created by the generation that sold out the American people. Hippy boomers did the exact same thing that woke faggots do today. Yet, what were conservative boomers doing? That's right, outsourcing everything overseas so they could make more money
But wait, there's an added bonus for Gen X and millennials! We get to pay into social security to the tune of hundreds of thousands over our lifetimes and we likely will get nothing in return.
Why should we waste our youth wageslaving for corporations, owned by hostile foreign interests, that are promoting BLM and LGBTP while they treat us like cattle?
I had a paper route at 13, but it hardly counts because my mom drove me and helped deliver them. Got my first real job at 15 working at a gas station. Pretty sure I made 5.25 an hour and was happy for it.
There’re two talks a parent should have to a child when mature enough: “the birds and the bees” and “Death and Taxes”, which is to say, you will be taxed to death.
Once payday comes and you get your paycheck you should get ALL your money.
THEN you should be forced to walk over next door to the tax office and HAND WRITE A CHECK for the taxes you own and PHYSICALLY HAND OVER YOUR money.
OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND IS REAL
How many people will this piss off? How many people will this wake up? How many people will finally start to think "wait why the fuck do I give $200+ a week of my money??" How many people will start to question the use of where that money is going?
I firmly believe if we made people hand write a check every single payday to pay their taxes; that in doing so would make people more aware of the money the government is taking away from them and get them to think "wow if i could have kept this extra $200 I could afford a better car payment/house/gas/whatever, maybe i should get more involved"
Used to be a retail manager, can confirm. Also had one girl come in crying and said we had to stop her direct deposit because the bank was "stealing her money." Turns out she thought having a job and having direct deposit meant you always had money in the bank. She didn't understand that she only had what she got paid and was overdrafting the shit out of her account.
Lmfao, I know a lot of teachers who don’t look at their annual withholdings and when they try starting a side hustle and have to pay those taxes directly they finally wake up and realize how much gets taken out sight-unseen. They just conveniently ignored the withholding line or tell themselves it means a bigger tax return later. 🤯
I remember my nephew complaining they shorted his check. After we explained taxes he asked if it was going to be every week? Then after i said yes he said "that fucking sucks."
He had his 40 hour check all planned out untill he got it.
This happened to me too. I was but a bright young lad of 13 and I earned a lot of money on that! Then I hit the threshold and I was like "What's happening to all the money from last time?" and I was told about taxes.
The saddest day of my life knowing that for the rest of it there would be a parasite sucking my blood that I would go to jail for shooting.
See there's this thing about taxes. They don't hurt that bad if you get a lot for your taxes, but instead they use half the taxes to attack us and they steal the other half. If after taxes we had amazing infrastructure, schools and public works it wouldn't bother me at all. But so much of it is just out right wasted and then they ask for more
Ooooh, we're gonna have to set up a department to look at that. I'll need $20M for a new building, and then salaries for 100 new government employees. And they're not gonna solve the issue or their jobs will disappear, so make those expenses annual.
Entire colleges of leftists vote for 4,5,6 years before ever getting a job and think the democrats will erase their debt because the professors tell them it is so.
I Remember a video a while back of a young man excited to open his first paycheck and then hitting mad at the taxes, thinking that they were 'finessin' him. All the while the dad was laughing and welcoming him to the real world.
Our temps make around 18 or 19, then if they get hired on, I think the lowest paying job at the plant is around 22. And I'm in a rural area in a red state
Maybe public indoctrination centers should teach personal finance instead of masturbation.
Why do you think they don't teach finance, and taxes; it's a scam, it's illegal, and if people were smart enough, they would do something about it.
They're trying to get rid of the 2nd Amendment before we do.
Good luck with the Turner Diary described gun seizures.
I wonder how it could even work considering gun canvassing is probably going to be a very high turnover position.
What 2A neighbors aren’t going to start neighborhood watches and not only that, start showing going on the offensive?
Illegals have to be the key to their plan.
Illegals and misinformed legals and even citizens NOW, have little idea how our country works.
Luck won't help them. Based reference btw
Luck will favor a man, if his courage holds.
They don’t teach it because they don’t understand it. The average teacher “specialized” in drama, English, or social studies. They also don’t pay back their student loans.
They get paid barely more than McDonald's managers so that probably slows down paying it off. It's by design.
Depends on where they are. In Canada they get tenure after 2 years and within 5 years can earn $85K or more.
How do we not pay taxes, and not get shafted for it?
You'd need entire towns and cities to participate and that would require people having each other's backs when shit gets rough. Otherwise they'll just pick off people one by one and make examples of enough of them to scare the remainder.
And no more automatic payroll deductions
Its illegal? They literally make the laws lol
There's tons of illegal laws in this country
But fisting and anal sex is so important to 15 year olds.
Are you retarded, that’s thematics for kindergartners how the gay teach ducked his dry before coming to work ! They speak about this with 4-6 year old!
I'm sorry are we talking about blood and scat play or fisting, cause fisting is a teenagers game
/s (also lmao hoe horrible this shit is, im probably burning a school down in a couple years)
I was a teenager in the 90s and in PA they were already teaching this in jr high. I think it was the debate or critical thinking class. No idea why they would want people to know scat play exists, what the fuck
Out of respect for any students of German descent. They deserve to know their heritage as well.
You mean 6-year-olds.
I stand corrected, thanks!
They do. And it's ineffective.

Why not both? And let's start with masterbation in kindergarten. D
Sounds like Brave New World where the children go around having sex play and the Malthusian drills for the girls, alarm goes off and they all take their contraceptive at the same time
If we eliminated tax withholding and everyone had to write a check there would be a revolt.
Nah, no one would pay.
Yes that’s a good thing. I’d love for that to happen

This.
Check out there Flat Tax or the Fair Tax groups, they spell out they law and the math.
The government spends a lot more than they take in. Why bother taking anything in?
For many years, the Fair Tax people and the Flat Tax people have been mathematically proving that the current systems are rigged but their options would be transparent, equitable and easily cover necessary costs.

Our military needs a hard reset first. Filter out all the woke retards then redo the budgets and factor the taxes.
I dunno. The masses could be too lazy for non compliance. I think I have seen that somewhere in history before.
It would be better. Currently the withholding gives people the impression of a “refund” that they can go spend on booze and toys. If at the end of the year you the average working guy owed a lump $5-$15K, there’d be a revolt.

Is that not a revolt?
Just put the check in the mail today, mr irs!

Absolutely. Gad sadd just had to cut a check for book royalties and is losing his mind.
I’ve been saying this for decades. While we’re at, change Election Day to April 16

gg no re
Bracket creep is one of the favorite games of tax and steel people’s. The good news is with inflation, soon we will all be millionaires. The bad news is that million dollars will get you extra foam on your latte at Starbucks.
Fuck you and I'll see you tomorrow.
That is the cold progression:
https://www.ionos.com/startupguide/grow-your-business/cold-progression/
The minimum wages go higher and higher. The income tax stays the same.
Now give yourself 3 minutes to think about what that means in the long run.
Thank you for sharing that article. I'm working more than ever in my life and "slipped" into a higher bracket. Now I have a term for what ails me.
lol Our income will go from 70 to 100 to match inflation! Sweet summer child.
Oh, that's funny. As if our wages are going to go up, just because there's inflation! Thanks for the laugh.
Wages haven't increased against inflation for something like 70 years.
After inflation makes 1.00 50c theyll give u a 2% tax cut an the seals will clap even though their taxes went up a shitload an ur standard of living plummeted.
18? I received my first paycheck when I was 14. Bunch of slow-starters.
$22/hr? I made $5.
Sure.
We've been screwed hard.
B-b-b-but 5 is less than 22! So my childhood must have been tougher! Nobody ever had it as bad as me!
And? Just because the price of one good hasn't changed, that means the cost of living hasn't risen across the board? You sound like a good applicant to be Biden's new press secretary.
If that's how you want to read my words.
Uhhh shit was still very expensive back in 2003 - 2004 when I was making $5.75 per hour........
And?
Are you my Dad?
Not unless there's a sperm thief about.
Are you advocating for a rise in the minimum wage?
But twitter needs those H1B's to work 4 hours a week and make $150k/yr doing it...
I too like watching Project veritas videos.
;)
A rise in ALL wages and salaries or dissolvememt of the shit government causing runaway inflation.
3.35 here washing dishes at a restaurant
Yeah, but when you made $3.35, money still had some value. Even according to official inflation rates, which we all know are garbage, like Biden's turkey hot dog barbeque, your $3.35 would be more like $10-11 today.
No.... No it didn't....
In 2003 - 2004 shit was still very expensive and I was making $5 .75 per hour........
Try to buy a set of tires or any large household appliance back then on 5.75....
Just because one or two commodities are relatively cheaper doesn't mean the overall cost of living hasn't gone up. In 04 rent was a third of what it is now, in most places.
$3.15/hour when I started.
And I remind my children often about historical figures doing amazing things at very very young ages. Now??? Infantilized society suuucks.
On a payroll at 15. And it was $6/hr shoveling mulch at a greenhouse for 8 hours a day.
On payroll at 15 as well. 5.25/hr filling balloons at a party store. It was great, honestly.
"team members"
They're employees.
Ever wonder why corporations continue to lie and steal from us?
Twerps Twinks
Working in a restaurant is a bit different. It takes more teamwork than most work environments.
Typical restaurant worker, pretending you have the hardest jobs on the planet. Waiting is not that difficult. Why don’t you pat yourself on the back some more, crack open a beer and shut the fuck up.
Which is the hardest job on earth? Restaurant worker or teacher?
Seriously.. have you ever gone out to dinner with people in the food industry?? They are the worst. God forbid you mildly inconvenience the waitress by asking for some extra ketchup with your fries. They act like we should be kissing the wait staff’s feet and worshiping the ground they walk on. Oh, and don’t even think about tipping less than 50% or you’re going to hell.
I’m sure he wasn’t talking about waiting. Probably cooking. But go ahead and continue being a Douchebag. I bet you probably sit at a desk all day. Or under one.
Considering their argument, I would assume they actually work a trade skill..... Doing actual hard labor...... So you sound retarded...
Manual labor.
Try something like roofing where its 130+ degrees up on the roof. Or a production line where its 95% humidity and 120 degrees and you're doing physical labor.
Spray. Foam. Insulation.
Try that shit on for size.
Residential? What makes it so bad? Do you have to wear full PPE?
Being a professional cook is actually a pretty rough job, working over stoves, very long hours, high stress, etc.
I have 0 sympathy for teachers anymore. I respect most teachers individually, but fuck the concept of "teachers" as some noble career.
Fast food fry cooks are more respectable than teachers and most government employees in general.
I haven't worked in a restaurant in 40 years, and I didn't claim it was the hardest job. I also did tree work starting when I was 15. Climbing and limbing with a chainsaw was far more difficult, but didn't require the temwork.
hard to believe that gem of a username went uncapped until now
It was more a comment on the slide of language than the place in which they work.
Hell, even the NBA "team members" are employees.
“Cast members”
"Joggers"
legalized joggers picking cotton to setting up picks!
Must not be that hard if you have time to post this comment twice. Calm down and stop reaffirming the idea that all roofers are assholes.
Believe it or not, roofers get days off & talking shit is part of the job description for all construction jobs
Bingo
I say rhank God there are roofers. I ain't doing that.
Everyone acting like I’ve never roofed before. When I first got out of the military I was in construction. Did concrete and roofing. Cooking in a restaurant has its own challenges, I just hate people who get this big head about what they do, and everything else is “easy.”
Literally any manual labor trade skill is infinitely harder than restaurant work....... Especially outside of unions.....
Coming from a guy who’s probably never worked a 16 hour shift in a hot ass kitchen. I’ve done both. They both suck. Everyone assumes “restaurant work” means waiting tables. The cooks in the back of a busy restaurant don’t have it easy.
Not a roofer but have re singled my own roof by myself. It sucks.
By yourself? So you literally just proved the original comment I defended to be accurate.
You literally just proved you're a faggot completely incapable of any thought or hard work.
But paying taxes is good for the country, just think of all the high quality roads, infrastructure and high speed rai... oh right.
You mean the billions they could send to other countrys with our tax money.
You mean money laundering back to the politicians and co. who approved it.
You mean 10% for the big guy.
He means the 51 billion paid in foreign aid to shithole countries, and the 54 billion just to ukraine.
Certified SHITHOLE
USA Certified Prime Shithole
Not to mention killing other people while killing off some of our own...
After seeing our government spend roughly $8 trillion over the past 3 years, we could totally have free college and healthcare. Not that I'm for those things, but if you're gonna steal our money, at least give us something for our investment. It's better than giving thst money to Pakistan or Ukraine.
Still waiting for a modern country-wide rail system
Isn’t that what planes are for?
I took Amtrak last year. No hassle, no lines, no TSA. Just get on the train. And very cheap too. NY to DC
Amtrak like 8 years ago proudly informed the public they now recover 50c for every dollar they spend. Theyre gov funded.
Just like the Post Office.
that's how every passenger rail is in the US, that's why the freight railroads got out of that business.
How subsidized are airlines though? Didn't we bail them out too?
They go bankrupt over n over n over then come out of bankruptcy. Not sure the gov subs though
New York to DC is local. He said country wide.
Huge waste of money.
They can walk, drive or take a bus, I don't care how they get there just as part of their ticket to ride on a train isn't paid by me
If we all start using trains again, I hope girls bring back those nylons with the line up the back. Those are sweet.
Just going from great lakes to Florida eats up most of your day
Crew changes. Refueling. Weather conditions.
Now you're closer to fifty hours.
I just checked on flights.
I fly to Florida all the time, twice this year already. Last year it was five times, family and business.
I'll be going again last week in June. It won't take all day, never has.
As if a single penny of that went to Afghanistan
My fifteen year old daughter started her own business last year selling K-Pop memorabilia, and now she's one of the most staunch anti-taxation people I've ever met.
Just yesterday she was mentioning the price of gas and how even pumping gas was taxed in our state. Then she went off on a whole list of unfair taxes that we have to pay.
I was so proud of her.
You raised her right, Fren.
Turn her on to Zuby. I think she'd like him.
Zuby was on the podcast of the lotus eaters just the other day, the guy is such a good inspiration to the youth.
This warmed my heart.
$22/hour at 18? What the fuck?
$22 is the new $10 in Biden’s America.
McDonald's drive thrus in my area have signs on the windows stating "$16/hr Starting".
in a couple years that is what they will be paying at Macdonalds because of Bidenflation.
2 years ago the mcdonals down the road had $20/hr plus 1k signing bonus posted everywhere
thats fuckin crazy. I guess this is what happens when the govt will pay you more to just sit at home.
Yup. We’re are really close, that $15 an hour everyone was crying for a few years ago is already not enough to keep up with inflation. Gas stations like Bucees advertise their starting wage is $17 ($19 if you work overnight)
Last I went to Five Guys they started at 17.50/hr there
Nowadays that's nothing.
Right??
Turnover is a huge issue, they keep trying to throw more money as the solution.
The recession will wake a fuck ton of these “living wage” freaks up.
Nailed it
How stupid are these kids? I knew about taxes at 15 when I first started working!
Its probably more about how high they are than anything.
A lot of activists who say we need to raise taxes, act like people are only getting taxed 5-10%,
When these kids who sit on social media all day get out there, they learn its way higher and only going up
Because the media runs the narrative a la lockdowns, fact checking..
$22 an hour? My first job was $4.25/hour.
Sadly, you could probably buy more with that $4.25. The buying power of American wages is a joke now.
I’m older, mine was 2.85 and I got excited by a 10 cent bump at six months.
Mine was $1.10.
In a meatpacking plant.
And don't tell me that went much further than it did, taking home $33.56 a week for forty hours didn't get you fuck all.
Paychecks in the 90's sucked almost as bad as all the Pauly Shore movies that came out back then.
Honestly if you are 18 and don’t know this, both the school system and your parents grossly failed you.
I was working part time with a work permit at 15, it amazes me that someone could get to the age of 18 an not at least have heard about taxation.
Clever guy. Cheers.
Adulting isn't fair.
That starts at 27 these days.
Yah i was a complete retard till bout 26.. theres a reason the founders said u have to be 35 to be president.
Ah, yes, taxes. Making republicans since 1913.
My staff asks if they can NOT report all their tips so they actually get a paycheck instead of their check entirely going to cover taxes on their tipped income. Hahaha hopefully saying "no, all income made here must be reported" opens just a few eyes.
They are such dolts. Then they whine that you need to pay them more. But they are the lazy, entitled generation.
Created by the generation that sold out the American people. Hippy boomers did the exact same thing that woke faggots do today. Yet, what were conservative boomers doing? That's right, outsourcing everything overseas so they could make more money
THANKS BOOMERS. HOPE YOUR LIVES WERE AMAZING.
They were and now they get to enjoy retirement as likely the last middle class generation to get to do so.
But wait, there's an added bonus for Gen X and millennials! We get to pay into social security to the tune of hundreds of thousands over our lifetimes and we likely will get nothing in return.
seriously, fuck boomers. fuck their entire selfish piece of shit generation.
Lol. Retard. You've been psychologically conditioned to hate boomers and you don't even know it.
Divided and conquered. That's us. The right.
They were. And we all knew exactly what we were doing, selling y'all out. It was a small price to pay.
THANKS 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Why should we waste our youth wageslaving for corporations, owned by hostile foreign interests, that are promoting BLM and LGBTP while they treat us like cattle?
These are the same idiots that decry "capitalism" on reddit.
If you're 18 and making $22 an hour, STFU and hope no one notices.
People getting their first paycheck at 18. Holy shit. I think I was 14.
I had a paper route at 13, but it hardly counts because my mom drove me and helped deliver them. Got my first real job at 15 working at a gas station. Pretty sure I made 5.25 an hour and was happy for it.
I was 3.35 I think. Worked for my parents’ company on Saturdays and all summer long.
There’re two talks a parent should have to a child when mature enough: “the birds and the bees” and “Death and Taxes”, which is to say, you will be taxed to death.
Taxes should not come out automatically.
Then after i said yes he said "that fucking sucks." He had his 40 hour check all planned out untill he got it.
"Every week. For the rest of your life."
Stories that didn’t happen.
Says Net amount.
Didn’t know about taxes.
Happens all the time, only not quite as extreme.
18: "I'm supposed to be making $22/hr, so like... $20 after taxes right?"
Manager: "We'll there's federal tax, state tax, unemployment tax, social security tax... expect $15"
18: "This is bullshit"
M: "Yup"
This happened to me too. I was but a bright young lad of 13 and I earned a lot of money on that! Then I hit the threshold and I was like "What's happening to all the money from last time?" and I was told about taxes.
The saddest day of my life knowing that for the rest of it there would be a parasite sucking my blood that I would go to jail for shooting.
They've never heard of taxes because their mom is on welfare?
See there's this thing about taxes. They don't hurt that bad if you get a lot for your taxes, but instead they use half the taxes to attack us and they steal the other half. If after taxes we had amazing infrastructure, schools and public works it wouldn't bother me at all. But so much of it is just out right wasted and then they ask for more
Ooooh, we're gonna have to set up a department to look at that. I'll need $20M for a new building, and then salaries for 100 new government employees. And they're not gonna solve the issue or their jobs will disappear, so make those expenses annual.
Make earning an income a requirement for voting.
Make being a land owner a requirement for voting. That way folks who rent cannot increase the taxes on land owners.
There's nothing magical about land.
You can rent a room but own stock in an oil company or a fish farm - that doesn't make you lesser than a land owner in any way.
Teach them about compound interest over 40 years on the money taken from them (2x the fica amount on the check) That will really piss them off.
Sadly the left swoops in right after that and gets them to believe that they are paying more than their boss is in taxes
Welcome to the Republican Party.
I had an employee ask about opting out of social security the other day. Welcome to the suck, new guy
Ha I remember researching that possibility back when I started my first job in 1979.
Yup... that first paycheck is always a clue that socialism sucks balls.
I don't think payroll withholding should be a thing of tax time was thought of as a bill to be paid instead of a payday shit would change fast.
And yet these retards will continue faithfully voting Pedocrat.
If u really want to teach them something worth remembering, end the lesson with:
"taxation without representation is theft".
Every time an 18 year old complains about payroll taxes a Republican is born.
Taxes, FICA, and "unemployment insurance" where you're paying to fund other losers' laziness
Educators need too stop teaching gender issues ave start teaching life skills like taxes, budgeting, home ec, shop class, etc
22 an hour starting pay for a first job 18 year old?..... That's was your first fuck up......
How the hell does a person not know about taxes by 18 years ? Where the hell do these people live ?
I think the Chef said $22 because in their mind, that's their poverty limit? They would fell poor making less than $22
Encountering income tax for the first time should make anyone a lifelong conservative.
Sound like bullshit. And 18 year olds first job is $22 an hour?
Our temps make around 18 or 19, then if they get hired on, I think the lowest paying job at the plant is around 22. And I'm in a rural area in a red state
Poor baby he was expecting high 800 and got low 700
Wait till they find out the tax rate once they start making enough money to support a family
