My point is that just because Monkeypox is related to Smallpox, this does not in any way mean that it represents a similar public health threat. Anyone who implies otherwise is basically engaged in or otherwise supporting weaponized public health-related propaganda. In other words, spreading public health fearporn.

Yes, it is just another wave of fear ala Murder Hornets.

I am absolutely terrified of those things. But then again, I have a rather extreme phobia of bees, so I'm not terrified of them destroying the nation or the world, I just want people to kill them all so I never have to see one in person.

"To combat a smallpox emergency, the SNS holds enough smallpox vaccine to vaccinate the entire U.S. population. In addition, the SNS has antiviral drugs that can be deployed to treat smallpox infections, if needed,” a spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services said via email.

This is the part that's rather scary to me. I don't trust them not to have tampered with the Smallpox vaccines in the intervening years. Who knows what's in that shit now?

Belleoffreedom 15 points ago +15 / -0

There was a time when I would have laughed at this comment. Now it's almost enough to make me cry, because I know how bad the Pfizer "vaccines" are at minimum, and how pernicious the CDC and NIH have become.

Unless there has been some genetic alteration, either through evolution or intentional genetic manipulation, it is not a significant biothreat...

Deliberate genetic alteration is exactly what worries me.

I'm still taking IVM and HCQ prophlactically. It's cured my severe GERD, arthritis, and a few warts I'd had for years. It's also reduced my bp so much that I've been able to cut my med dose by 1/2. (It's used off-label in Africa for hypertension.) I assume I had covid late last year (lost taste/smell totally, but never bothered to get tested) -- felt like a freight train had hit me (despite being on Dr Z's preventive protocol) -- upped the dose per Dr Z, and back to 100% in 36 hours.

No mask, no clot shot, no hand washing, no social distancing since this nonsense started. And here I am, healthier than I was before The Regime started this shit. Now I'm sitting here watching all the covidiot vaxx addicts around me get sick multiple times -- with covid -- and all the vaxx side effects.

Sorry for the rant. I'm in a very Dark Maga Mood today.

" It's cured my severe GERD, arthritis, and a few warts I'd had for years. It's also reduced my bp so much that I've been able to cut my med dose by 1/2. (It's used off-label in Africa for hypertension.) "

I have had similar and amazing experiences. A 40 year wart GONE. Seriously, even my toe fungus seemed receded - I thought I was losing my mind, gladly.

And now I'm reading about IVM's anti-cancer aspects.

No wonder Big Pharma tried to shut this down. But then the politicians discovered it. My gut is IVM + Tollovid + Turmeric would kick butt. imho, dyodd

murph1953 14 points ago +14 / -0

btw, IVM is now otc in Tennessee, no script needed.

imnotdeadyet 6 points ago +6 / -0

Do you know how expensive it is? I had an RX for IVM but they kept jacking up the price. A months supply (24 3mg tablets) was $70. I can get a six months supply for the same price from India. No RX required. It will take about 4 weeks to get it, but if you plan ahead, it is a real money saver.

20-guage 1 point ago +1 / -0

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the gnarly toenail fungus I'd had for years. That's gone as well!

Seatacjoe 4 points ago +4 / -0

i didnt know about the BP, how much you using propho?

20-guage 2 points ago +2 / -0

Originally, .2 mg per KG of weight, twice per week, Days 1 and 3. (I picked Sun and Tues). I did this from last September through this February.

Now I'm taking just once a week, on Sundays.

Seatacjoe 1 point ago +1 / -0

Guess who will really be dictating medical policies...

MythArcana 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yeah, Tedros is an idiot, like a brown Biden. Nothing but a puppet doing what they're told. Then there's the U.N. which falls in line with everything they say, and now we're going to follow suit? I don't think so.

Bacon_farmer -25 points ago +8 / -33

The VA is a prime example. They have people with boxes of masks and hand sanitizer at every available entrance. They ask you all kinds of bullshit questions regarding covid exposure before you can go past their control points. But try to explain what their little surgical masks are intended to be used for and their eyes roll back in their heads and little plugs come out the sides of their heads to plug up the ears.

Follow the science? They can't spell science!!!

Bacon_farmer -5 points ago +4 / -9

Is that why when challenged in court they lost virtually every single time.

Personal example; I was fired illegally for not playing the masktard game in 2020, lawyer hired, didn't even make it to court, 12 month full paid salary plus $65k damage to my professional reputation. Full retirement and back pay.

Next example; I fell 16 ft from a tree stand last November. Broke my sternum, separated every rib on my left side, bruised heart, ripped muscle. Pretty serious right? Wife drove me to the hospital. Never even suggested I mask, only one nurse asked if I was vaxed and when they found out I wasn't not another word. Same with the ambulance ride and next hospital that I was transferred to better trauma team..

I live in communist as hell NY state. Half the shit I read here is bullshit.

Countries, including the US, are meeting in Geneva at a summit May 22-28 to discuss a pandemic treaty that gives the United Nation's World Health Organization operational control over healthcare decisions in a public health emergency. Now, the senate would have to approve it to make it legally binding but are you saying it isn't happening?

deleted -5 points ago +2 / -7
Thejudge6060 10 points ago +10 / -0

And it being unconstitutional means what exactly? The constitution has 0 teeth without someone to enforce it. The unconstitutionally changed election laws, yet Biden is still in the white house. Are you sure you're not the child clinging to "but the constitution says..."???

N7fury 5 points ago +5 / -0

Of course, it is illegal constitutionally. I agree with you on that. Hopefully, the senate would never approve it. Sane states would reject and nullify it. No sane country would ever surrender sovereign authority over healthcare decisions to an international body. But we aren't living in a sane country right now

UnitedStatesofSmash 5 points ago +5 / -0

Ahahahahahahahahahaha. The "Constitution". Oh, you mean the thing they consistently violate at every single turn when it comes to 2A? Or how about when they are literally in bed with the media (like with their new press secretary) and they push for more censorship of the Right?

If you think the Constitution will protect us from these demons, you're mistaken. Their "culture" has permeated every single level of government. In order for the Constitution to mean anything someone has to enforce it. Do you trust SCOTUS to declare things unconstitutional? Maybe for now when we seemingly have the advantage, but their goal is to circumvent the courts by packing them if possible.

Mark4-40 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's not the mods fault that the majority of people are stupid and can't be bothered to consider things from multiple angles. They want to be told to jump and don't bother to ask how high. Even here.

ALT26 24 points ago +24 / -0

Key takeaway: this is not influenza or COVID - this virus mutates slowly, it is not highly infectious, naturally acquired immunity is potent and long lasting, and Orthopox vaccines are usually cross protective. The risk of immunologic escape is very, very low. And the spread of this virus can be readily stopped by simple, inexpensive classical public health measures. If it were otherwise, we would already have experienced a pandemic of Monkeypox decades ago.

Mark4-40 4 points ago +4 / -0

Monkeypox is distinguishable from smallpox and chickenpox, from presentation characteristics and locations on the skin. You haven't had a high level microbiology course have you?

UnlearningCommunism 3 points ago +3 / -0

I've read just enough I need to know: the official procedure is to take a sample from the spot and use PCR to test it.

If it's obviously different from other types - why PCR?

As a European, I've never herd of "monkey pox" up until 2022.

P.S. it's "molecular" not "micro biology"

Mark4-40 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes, I got that. I'm a microbiologist, and this is all covered in grad level microbiology classes. Idk what you have to do in Europe, but my colleagues who went for their molecular PhD had a medical microbiology class. Same one med school students take.

PCR gives you results in less than a day. You can test before lesions present on the skin. People usually feel like trash and may go to hospital before lesions present. If they wait, you do a differential dx based on the skin and confirm by PCR. You can also confirm via cell culture (smallpox and chickenpox won't grow in the same cell culture that monkeypox does)

sumnayin 1 point ago +1 / -0

PCR testing isn't a diagnosis

UnlearningCommunism 1 point ago +1 / -0

Some people never learn.

QuickMaths 9 points ago +9 / -0

So like I was literally saying the other day when a bunch of you were panicking over it. Its a non issue, hard to spread, rare as fuck and apparently it seems to affect mostly gay men since the Europeans said that of the ~100 cases they’ve had, the majority were “men who have sex with other men”.

JudgeMental 8 points ago +8 / -0

Maybe it escaped from the labs in Ukraine and spread around the world by Ukrainian refugees.

HumblePede 7 points ago +7 / -0

Fantastic article! Well worth the read.

There was a prior outbreak of Monkeypox in the United States during 2003. That particular outbreak, the first reported outside of Africa, was traced back to the importation of small mammals from Ghana. [Emphasis mine.]

This snippet brings to mind two incidents. The first was the not-so-long-ago truck crash of a trailer filled with lab monkeys. The second is the quite recent truck crash that exposed an entire load of dead cats and dogs. This load was coming up from Mexico to Texas.

Why? Who ordered these payloads? Who paid for them? To what purpose?

I think there may be a lot more happening behind the scenes than most can comprehend.

Perhelion 5 points ago +5 / -0

Essentially all of the current cases in the west which we are seeing in the news are among men who have sex with men, and appear to be due to close physical contact.

Khryn_Tzu-TTV 5 points ago +5 / -0

Well, am I safe because I'm not fucking other men? Gay men are the ones infected right now. And apparently it's not very transmissable at that.

Sarracenia purpurea (Pitcher Plant, Purple Pitcher Plant) -

"An old herbal remedy for treating smallpox that is thought to have been used by native Americans in the late 1800s has been rediscovered and found to kill the poxvirus.

"Now, Jeffrey Langland at Arizona State University in Tempe, US, and colleagues have conducted in vitro experiments with the herbal extract and found it inhibits replication of the variola virus, the causative agent behind smallpox.

"There is much scepticism on herbal medicine but what our results illustrate conclusively is that this herb is able to kill the virus and we can actually demonstrate how it kills the virus,’ says Langland. ’It takes this herb out of the realm of folklore, and into the area of true scientific evidence.’

Monkeypox isn't the threat, the vaccine is

There is a vaccine that was licensed in the U.S. in 2019 for people 18 years of age and older to protect against smallpox and monkeypox; Bavarian Nordic’s Jynneos. A second vaccine, ACAM2000 made by Emergent Product Development, protects against smallpox and is also thought to offer some protection against monkeypox.*** Both vaccines are licensed only for people considered at high risk of contracting the disease because they are not entirely safe.* **

Monkeypox is a mild chickenpox. Which most of us here had as children and acquired natural immunity.

Hatemakingupnames [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

Read the article. Chickenpox is not in the same genus of virus as moneypox. They are not related.

unicornpoop 1 point ago +1 / -0

Clarification: I didn't mean it WAS chickenpox. I meant the symptoms are similar and milder than chickenpox.

People are afraid of a skin rash with fever. It's not going to melt your eyeballs and make your penis fall off.

Hatemakingupnames [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

But having chickenpox is not going to give you any type of immunity to monkeypox. If you had smalllpox or the smallpox vaccine you would actually have some resistance to monkeypox and probably not have any chance of getting it.

Bob_Wahr 2 points ago +2 / -0

Good to be a boomer. We all had smallpox vaccine.

Mark4-40 1 point ago +1 / -0

Bob_Wahr 2 points ago +2 / -0

We need the videos of people dropping dead on the streets. After imitating a monkey.

IAmNotAnAutist 1 point ago +1 / -0

I have to admit...at the beginning of faggot covid, after seeing those 'bodies in the streets' in China, I was scared for about a week. I sprayed my groceries with disinfectant, etc.

Im a fag.

But to my credit, that became my baseline for the rest of the scamdemic. I must have said to my wife, a thousand times, "Until I see unclaimed bodies in the streets, I ain't worrying".

Karma_Bus_Route_20 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's an unrelated disease with similar symptoms and severity, at least for the West African variants which are the ones that are appearing (Central African variant can be somewhat worse). So if you had chicken pox it doesn't protect you from monkey pox, but if does give you a general idea of what it's like. And from my experience, chicken pox is annoying but not worth a public health response beyond a suggestion to practice good hygiene, stay home if you're sick, and see your doctor if you're one of the few people who gets really sick. ETA: Monkey pox is also way less contagious than chicken pox, luckily.
