"... U.S. economy shrank by more than 36% from 1929 to 1933 "

“bUy ThE DiP!”

Ugh, I hate it when people say that. Whether it's beneficial to buy into a dip is entirely dependant on what caused the stock to decrease in the first place, and whether you'll be able to fix said issues with your new influence. Depending on it to just increase "just 'cuz" is moronic in the extreme.

The best market strategy is to buy consistently. You make more money than you do even if you could time the market.

1
SnowflakeJuice 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nope. Not when everything is going to shit. You pause buying until it stabilizes .

1
SnowflakeJuice 1 point ago +1 / -0

"buying the dip" only works in an otherwise bull market. buying the dip when we are just beginning a recessionary cycle is moronic.

The sad thing, people will still defend this administration vehemently because that are so emotionally attached. It's incredibly sad. They'd rather see Biden king of the ashes than have trump bring forth a utopia

Maybe shouldn’t have locked down the country for a mild illness and printed trillions out of thin air. And we already were on shaky financial ground prior.

Since the State necessarily lives by the compulsory confiscation of private capital, and since its expansion necessarily involves ever-greater incursions on private individuals and private enterprise, we must assert that the state is profoundly and inherently anti-capitalist. - Murray Rothbard

I laugh my ass every day I hear this. There was a super liberal from work, loathed Trump, "no election fraud evidence", etc. Just retired, new RV, the whole shebang. Now his 401k is tanking and he's sweating if he can stay retired. Can't afford fuel for the RV or the pickup to pull it. Still doesn't see the light.

Might as well just shut down Wall Street and save electricity at this point.

This is a meaningless deepity. What he leaves out is that the value of the Dow Jones increased by an ungodly amount because of the various government shenanigans including endless printing of money that all ended up being pumped into the market.

What cannot justifiably go up must justifiably go down.

Just be thankful it did not deflate in a 48 hour period of time. This has to happen and it has a long way to go before the normalizes around where it should be.
