The state shall not deny or interfere with an individual’s reproductive freedom in their most intimate decisions

With vague language such as this, any fool can interpret this as enshrining RAPE in their Constitution.

For example, if no one can interfere with my intimate decision to attempt to reproduce with an unwilling woman, then nothing is legally stopping me.

Lawyers should start using this defense for this rapist clients in California. Openly say California legalized rape, as long as you claim it was for reproductive purposes.

Force them to keep changing their laws.

it's kind of crazy because there's really no justification for it.. like liberals try to make these arguments about it being a clump of cells but you're really claiming that the baby is somehow different the day before birth versus the day after? what exactly scientifically changes about it the minute it goes through your vagina?.

do they think their vagina is a magic portal that turns into a full baby?..

reminder that scientifically at 26 weeks they can feel pain. which means when you violently fucking murder them in the womb they feel that..

it's fucking torture. you're committing human rights violations..

it's absolutely insane that beating a dog and causing it pain is considered a felony but violently murdering a baby is not..

what California did is more proof that we cannot stop at just overturning roe v wade..

when the Republicans take back Congress we MUST impose a national ban on all abortions.

it must be federally codified into law that no state is allowed to do this barbaric practice..

the same way we don't leave it up to states to legalize slavery if they feel like it. there are some things that are human rights violations that simply cannot be left up to individual choic..

murder should be illegal no matter where you are. slavery should be illegal no matter where you are. and abortion should be illegal no matter where you are..

once we legal legalize banning it across all 50 states THEN we can talk about maybe allowing it under certain circumstances for the health of the mother or whatever

but you negotiate from a position of strengths.. first you ban it and then you work on maybe certain things being allowed..

not the other way around

6
2SmoothGQ 6 points ago +7 / -1

Ya see “health of the mother or whatever” is the only problem I have here. Cleaning out a miscarriage is medically an abortion, saving a mom from ectopic pregnancy is medically abortion. An outright ban on abortion as birth control is one thing but just saying “nope not at all” has some nasty consequences. Maybe a change in terminology is due for some of these things. Hell, a lot of people don’t realize this but if you go in for IVF they take eggs and implant them with sperm. They save those eggs for multiple tries. If one takes and and they have say 10 left over if the state says life begins at conception disposing of those eggs is now, you guessed it, abortion.

I am by no means saying I agree with abortion in the sense of terminating a healthy pregnancy. Just that there are a lot of things medically that are called abortion that either need a change of terminology or need to be an exception.

I think the best option, currently, is a ban on abortion as birth control.

2
IAmNotAnAutist 2 points ago +2 / -0

"""Cleaning out a miscarriage is medically an abortion"""

lol no it's not

1
2SmoothGQ 1 point ago +1 / -0

A miscarriage may also be called a "spontaneous abortion." Other terms for the early loss of pregnancy include:

Complete abortion: All of the products (tissue) of conception leave the body. Incomplete abortion: Only some of the products of conception leave the body. Inevitable abortion: Symptoms cannot be stopped and a miscarriage will happen. Infected (septic) abortion: The lining of the womb (uterus) and any remaining products of conception become infected. Missed abortion: The pregnancy is lost and the products of conception do not leave the body.

Yes it is. My wife works for an IVF clinic.

1
IAmNotAnAutist 1 point ago +2 / -1

Cleaning out a miscarriage is not an abortion, dumbass.

1
TheMoreYouKnowOkay 1 point ago +1 / -0

My terminology:

You're not allowed to murder a baby in the womb. However if the baby is going to kill the mother, then we can kill the baby in defense of the mother.

My stance in all this insanity? The "anti-murder" position.

we just need a federal ban on abortions like we have a federal ban on murder and a federal ban on slavery..

we can talk about states rights all we want but there are certain things that are human rights violations that you shouldn't be legal no matter where you are..

just like how we ban slavery across the country and not on a state by state basis..

they're not being reasonable. they're not allowing it up to a certain point. they're straight up allowing it up till birth and they want to make it post birth as well. we can't allow that. the Liberals went too far they're pushing too far and so we need to ban it out right across all 50 states at once

1
that_sound 1 point ago +2 / -1

Why are you replying with this to a song lyrics quote? What is it about TOOL's Ænima lyrics that inspired you?

So how would we go about doing that? The dems control the Presidency, and both houses of Congress. And whilst I'm convinced that the election was stolen, and that of lot of dems in Congress didn't actually win their vote, there are a lot of pro-abortion people in this country.

You're just ranting for "MOAR GOVERNMENT" to fix your particular issue. More government is never the answer. More federal government is always bad.

What really needs to happen is that everyone learns all the disgusting details relating to abortion. And also that people go back to the before time when civilized people would discuss things. We live in a time when people on different sides can't discuss things, and that allows The Narrative to control people's minds. This needs to end. The answer to this and everything else is found in the truth.

On one hand... It is my belief that if the truth were to break thru The Narrative, many pro-abortion people would be shocked to learn how early it goes from "a clump of cells" to a fetus. And if the truth were to sink in, many would find it very difficult to draw any distinction between a fetus and a baby. They would see that on-demand abortions up to "viability" (week 22ish) that PP v Casey (1992) established was killing babies. Millions of babies. That will be difficult for them. A lot of people are going to be crushed with guilt. If we all still talked about things, it would be an easy shift. Right now for instance, the European pushers of The Narrative is busy lecturing Americans on how horrible it is for states to limit on-demand abortions before 15 weeks, when many of those European countries limit on-demand to before 12 or 13 weeks. That proves that The Narrative is in control. In control of how people think. They are able to push this hypocrisy, this brainwashing, because we don't talk. People need to know the truth.

On the other hand... It's going to be an unpopular opinion here, but a significant number of pregnancies need to be terminated. Some pregnancies just don't make it, and they should be terminated before the mother's life or health is endangered. I go back and forth on rape. But on incest, I'm convinced the pregnancies should be terminated. I do not want those genes in the gene pool. Terminate the pregnancy, and all consenting (of age) participants. Not kidding, incest should be a death sentence, especially rape of children. I'm no expert, but it seems to me that addicts of some drugs like heroin, meth, and cocaine should not be having children. People will downvote this and argue it, and yell their position, but I think if most people had to deal with the reality of it, they'd soften their stance quite a bit. There's exceptions, obviously. I'm not talking about the exceptions. I'm talking about most cases.

It's an important issue for the left, so I bet you're going to see their version of the truth. Movies, TV, etc... The Narrative is going to shift a little, and show everyone all the hard cases. Their truth. That's how they passed the abortion amendment in Ireland. A pregnant woman whose fetus died went untreated and so she died, and The Narrative made sure that everyone knew that it was religious people's fault, and that her blood was on their hands, and that the only way to fix it was a constitutional amendment. They really rubbed everyone's face in it. If I know Hollywood, you're soon going to get your face rubbed their new The Narrative. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it will be based on lies, but who knows...

What you won't see from Hollywood is the other truth. The baby getting ripped apart. The industrialized murder of babies. If that truth were to go viral things would shift the other way. People need to face the reality of what's actually happening. It could happen. Cameras are getting smaller and cheaper...

I think leaving it to the states is the correct play. I understand that lefty states are going to kill babies. But in order to stop that, in order to REALLY stop (most of) that, people's perspectives must change. People need to learn the truth. We need to win the culture war. That's what you need to do. Learn everything there is to know about embryonic and fetal development, and have respectful, convincing, persuasive discussions with people on the other side. That's how it stops.

1
Hunter77 1 point ago +2 / -1

People are either ok with abortion being left up to the states, or they're not (because they think murder should never be ok). I don't think people on either side will convince the other. It's just going to come down to who's the loudest and who has the numbers to force their will.

1
lixa 1 point ago +1 / -0

Murder is a state matter but it's not legal in any state. It's not like someone can be a serial killer in alaska but not in missouri. The punishment decision and prosecution is a state matter but it's accepted as a country that murder is not legal. It should be accepted that murdering a 6 month old baby in the womb is not legal. There's really no justification for it beyond life of the mother. Likewise there are exceptions for murder if your life was at stake it's self defense. We can debate about very early term abortions but it seems clear that after a certain point, as a society we should have a moral consensus. I just cannot understand someone thinking it's okay.

1
Hunter77 1 point ago +1 / -0

From what I've seen here, about half this site wants to leave it as is, up to the states. So, you might not understand it, but you don't have even close to a consensus on this among conservatives.

2
VolareVia 2 points ago +2 / -0

Be that as it may, if the Senate and House get a majority, what happens will depend on who gets in. As much as we might believe that politicians are responsive to what we want, clearly they aren't. Usually it doesn't go in this direction, but theoretically getting enough Republicans in the House and Senate could lead to a national ban, even if the majority of voters don't outright support it. One of the benefits and detriments of election by representative democracy

37
sustainable_saltmine 37 points ago +39 / -2

it's a life once conception happens. At that point chromosomes are dividing, cells are dividing and the early stages of life processes are happening. Just because it's not a life form that can yet survive outside the womb does not at all make it "not a life"

13
GabeC1997 13 points ago +13 / -0

People who defend abortions will move the goalposts like they always do.

"Well it's just a clump of cells...It only has some brain and heart tissue....There aren't any limbs yet.....It's not fully developed enough to be born....Well it was just born but that doesn't mean it has any rights or legal protections....Sure it's over ninety days old but it's not too late to do something."

Pepper2 3 points ago +4 / -1

I like implantation better, even if implantation is artificial. If a unique set of cellular DNA spontaneously arises in Earths ocean, but is unable to sustain replication due to it not having the necessary tools to maintain homeostasis, is that life? I'm not set on this, just exploring

6
DeadOverRed 6 points ago +6 / -0
  1. DNA doesn't spontaneously arise. You're more likely to win the lottery every day for a year, spend them money on a pile of rubble, shoot the rubble out of a cannon, and have a castle form where it lands.

  2. If it replicates or tries, it's alive.

  3. "Doesn't live long" doesn't mean it's not alive. You don't live long either.

  4. Stop exploring and admit the truth you already know.

1
Pepper2 1 point ago +2 / -1
  1. It's a thought experiment, and new DNA sets constantly arise through errors in replication that are non viable.

  2. Maybe. Chemical reactions replicate.

  3. You quoted something I didnt say, time is relative to life forms. I'm not taking that position.

  4. I don't know, it's why I'm asking. 25% of zygotes don't make it to implantation, I don't believe we should try to "save" all those zygotes.

4
DeadOverRed 4 points ago +5 / -1

7 “Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.

8 “Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself? 9 Do you have an arm like God’s, and can your voice thunder like his? 10 Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor, and clothe yourself in honor and majesty. 11 Unleash the fury of your wrath, look at all who are proud and bring them low, 12 look at all who are proud and humble them, crush the wicked where they stand. 13 Bury them all in the dust together; shroud their faces in the grave. 14 Then I myself will admit to you that your own right hand can save you.

1
TimeTestedTits 1 point ago +2 / -1

Yes. Any strand of unique DNA is proof or evidence of a life form whether it can replicate or not.

This is not even questioned in our search for extraterrestrial life.

The greatest chance we have of finding life in our solar system is on Europa, a small ice covered moon with and ocean near its hot core.

Its long known that if we find a SINGLE strand of DNA, aliens exist and life exists outside of our planet.

This has been undisputed for as long as SETI has existed and for as long as we've been a space fearing civilization (granted it has not been that long

Anyone saying otherwise is lying or retarded.

1
Pepper2 1 point ago +1 / -0

Fair point. Do you think we should try to save all the zygotes that aren't implanted? Or do you think we should let nature and God take their course?
Because it's a bloodbath out there without abortion added on top. And plan B is okay, correct? Because it stops the process before new DNA is formed.

2
panthicc 2 points ago +2 / -0

I think there are 2 important distinctions to be made.

  1. Legal vs moral. I think you need to use concise practical language when drafting legalese. If we consider a death to be when the heart stops, I think it follows that we consider life to be when the heart starts. We might have a different type of distinction on a moral level, but laws need to be consistent.

  2. Pro-life vs anti-abortion. Sometimes things die. Sometimes in very brutal and unfair ways. Personally, I'm not pro-life. There are humans alive right now I think would be better off dead. I believe in capital punishment. We shouldn't seek to save every prey animal on the planet and we shouldn't seek to save an unimplanted zygote that was unable to make it through the reproductive process. We shouldn't be doing anything to interrupt that naturally occurring process in either direction.

1
lixa 1 point ago +1 / -0

Plan B does any one of three things- stops the egg from being released, stops fertilization, or stops the embryo from implanting. It will not abort an implanted embryo. Around 73% of embryos (before implanting) don't survive to term. So 27% or so go on to be a baby that is born if nature takes its course.

4
that_sound 4 points ago +4 / -0

The truth is powerful. Persuasive. Convincing. That simple truth in your picture is the key to unlocking a beautiful future.

All systems based on lies must suppress the truth. All of the truth. That's why The Narrative is 24/7/365 for most normies.

We all need to see some pictures and show our normie friends. Video, maybe even better.

3
AOCDickPics 3 points ago +3 / -0

The only two arguments I ever see are that either it's not legally a person by government law, therefore it's ok to kill it. Which is just communist bullshittery.

Or it's not useful to society, which you could say about 30% of the population. The bottom 20-30% of IQ are a drag on society, those with disabilities, those who are on welfare.

If you're anti-abortion and not a vegetarian, you are an utter hypocrite. Adult cows and pigs are more fully developed and aware than human fetuses, and it's not even close.

13
TommyJarvis 13 points ago +13 / -0

No the difference is we are human beings, we are not equivalent to cows and pigs. You may see yourself on their level but I certainly don’t.

Humans are spiritual beings, we are more than the sum of our flesh. Cows and pigs exist to feed us, just like tomatoes.

Killing a baby because “meh, I don wanna” and killing a pig because “My family needs to be fed” are absolutely not relative in any way.

One is murder, the other simply the circle of life on earth.

PM_ME_UR_MAGIC_CARDS 10 points ago +10 / -0

Humans are meant to eat meat, it's not reasonable to expect us to defy nature in that way. Animals can be slaughtered humanely and respectfully, being offered a good life before being used as food.

Human fetuses will eventually be intelligent life capable of sentient self-awareness, fear, grief, and suffering. By your logic, it would be ok to kill a 4 week old baby because that baby isn't an intelligent life either.

There's no way around the fact that after conception, a human fetus is developing and will soon become intelligent life.

As an aside, I tend to agree with the moral similarities between abstaining from eating meat and being against abortion, but trying to argue adult cows are more fully developed than a human fetus is not a valid argument because we know the human fetus will eventually become more aware than the cow.

-4
JackOfDiamonds -4 points ago +1 / -5

By your logic then we are murdering every human we choose not to have. If you stop at 2 kids, you're "killing" the other 10 by not choosing to have 12. Every egg in a woman's body has the potential to eventually become an intelligent human.

The rabbits are eating some clover grass out back, you are missing out. Meanwhile, I will enjoy making extra hamburgers tonight in your name.

0
JackOfDiamonds 0 points ago +1 / -1

You misunderstand me. I have no ethical problem with killing either animals or unviable human fetuses. I eat meat, and I am pro-choice. No hypocrisy here. If it's not conscious, then we have no moral obligation to it.

nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law

Here is a quote from our Constitution. I'm no lawyer, but I'd say killing a human being, with arms, legs, brain, beating heart, personality, a mom and a dad, I'd say killing that baby by chopping them into pieces certainly qualifies as "deprived of life"

Protectthefirst 10 points ago +10 / -0

Last night I was watching my future son punch, kick and roll in my wife’s belly. Then he had hiccups and we all laughed about it. He moves when he’s hungry, he punches back when he’s in a position he doesn’t like, and he calms down when I talk to him in the womb.

If you’ve ever experienced something like this with your own seed, and still support abortion (especially full-term abortion!), I pray God has mercy on your soul, cause I certainly wouldn’t.

Last week, Kellee Bradford, who had five abortions as a young woman, told a state Senate Judiciary Committee that abortion is so common and promoted so openly in California that many women do not know where to turn for support if they want to keep their baby.

Holy shit. No wonder she's pushing for it. She's had a mass shooting equivalent in her own womb.

4
Joe_Snow 4 points ago +4 / -0

They always revert to these stupid false premises. Life is a fundamental HUMAN right. Not a baby right. Not a fetal right. Not a viability right.

If it's not human, then I agree you do need an abortion.

By the very third cell, it has unique human DNA, which scientifically classifies it's species as human. Period.

2
FLIBS 2 points ago +2 / -0

Give them time... They will start pushing for "abortions" until the kid is 5 years old the way it's going. So much for safe, rare, and available.

Yes, but states that stop killing babies will blessed by God. They will prosper.

3
MightyEighth 3 points ago +3 / -0

From a moral standpoint I agree, but as a states rights advocate? This is why our nation was founded, to let states maintain sovereignty and make their own rules without being beholden to a government who does not care of the will of the people.

Let us who live in based states deny evil at our borders and be what our founders intended.

1
_Sully_ 1 point ago +1 / -0

This is an extreme view. And as is tradition, extreme views will be met with an equal or greater push back as people wake up to the disgusting and gross motivations that brought it to law. I wouldn't worry about it. The left has gone satanic and normies are just going to be motivated themselves to rein in the madness. May not happen in November but people aren't gonna stand by while these psychos damn the entire state to hell.

“Abortion is not health care. It has left me and millions of women broken, regretful, ashamed, depressed and some even suicidal,” she told lawmakers. “It’s a temporary solution to a much bigger problem. … SCA 10 is going to make the problem even worse.”

She sounds like she's awake and on the path to redemption. I wish her the best in that.

Abortion is awful.
