Strictly speaking, it probably is not “necessary” for the federal government to tax anyone directly; it could simply print the money it needs. However, that would be too bold a stroke, for it would then be obvious to all what kind of counterfeiting operation the government is running. The present system combining taxation and inflation is akin to watering the milk; too much water and the people catch on.

Biden is using the war as cover for the inflationary result of statist spending.

This means he is incentivized to escalate and prolong the conflict.

And that's exactly what we see happening.

12
War_Hamster 12 points ago +12 / -0

This excellent blog post suggests that Biden/NATO are just bluffing.

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/06/no-nato-will-not-get-ready-for-war.html

NullifyAndSecede 14 points ago +14 / -0

I’m not speaking strictly of sending Americans to kill and die in the conflict, more just continuously pumping money and weapons into a side that otherwise would have collapsed quite quickly.

6
War_Hamster 6 points ago +6 / -0

Fair enough. I question whether the money and arms we're sending are actually slowing the methodical Russian advance very much. I suspect a lot of the money is going into certain accounts and a lot of the weapons are already on the black market.

I do think the collapse is quite imminent. You really have to admire the strategic use of artillery by Russia. It's been slow, but steady.

BlacknWhite 5 points ago +5 / -0

This is what I see transpiring.

4
War_Hamster 4 points ago +4 / -0

Amazing how this is the exact opposite of what the media is reporting, and that includes a ton of supposedly conservative outlets like Fox News.

2
BillPigg 2 points ago +2 / -0

I tell people this and they look at me like I’m nuts.

1
War_Hamster 1 point ago +1 / -0

Just document your comments and when you end up being correct, go back to them and ask why their sources were wrong and you were right. Make them think.

14

No they aren't. My local NPCs think Hitler Putin is the sole cause🤦

5

Yeah well they are consistently wrong.

2

Someone I know and respect seriously blurted out “isn’t it just awful what Putin is doing to us” and I facepalmed so hard I think I injured my jaw.

I think the sheep are noticing now

Even if the sheep notice something, they'll be distracted by the next MSM narrative moments later and forget about whatever they noticed.

Sheep exist to be sheared and eaten.

Yup, inflation is a bold form of taxation. It's also a regressive tax, affecting everyone equally. Well, not everyone...

it was.

18
BeerAndCope 18 points ago +18 / -0

And when it went down 16 cents the White House tweeted it was because “The Biden economic plan is working.” Now that it has gone up massively it’s “the president doesn’t control the economy.”

If you don’t think the US President can effect the economy you are an idiot. They are the single most powerful person in the world.

7
Nibba 7 points ago +7 / -0

It’s the pootin price hike dumbass.

3
BroadSunlitUplands 3 points ago +3 / -0

Conceptually perhaps. I don’t believe for a second that ‘President’ Biden has any meaningful amount of power or is even involved in the decision-making process at any stage.

1

At this point he's on his way to being a piñata for both sides

-10
GodEmperor2024 -10 points ago +2 / -12

How does the US President affect the economy, exactly? Care to explain?

17
MightyEighth 17 points ago +17 / -0

How about declaring war on the oil industry when you are sworn in? That’s got to be a factor.

10
ParticleCannon 10 points ago +10 / -0

Constantly printing money instead of incentivizing economic activity, sending money overseas, bringing in more people without bringing in more resources, hiring morons, lying about everything... Basically every calorie Joe Biden burns is in the effort to harm the economy.

6
Guruchild 6 points ago +6 / -0

The first thing Biden did when he was handed a pen in office was fuck us on domestic oil production. Pretty obvious what that did do our economy every time you buy anything or pull into a gas station.

2
TheDTOMDon 2 points ago +2 / -0

If the difference in our economic situation between when Trump was in office vs biden doesn’t drill some reality into your smoothbrain thick skull then there is no hope for you.

Do you care to explain how that reality has passed undetected through your honed senses, or are you just here to shape a narrative?

I'm not celebrating with any food this year.

I'm stocking up on ammo. The true American way to celebrate freedom.

4
Tardigrade 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yeah can't enjoy food anyway. Everything sucks now.

2
Nibba 2 points ago +2 / -0

You could always grill ice cubes. Grilled ice cubes are pretty tasty.

2
ParticleCannon 2 points ago +2 / -0

That still costs propane

1
TrannyClausSliceDice 1 point ago +1 / -0

So you’re going to just buy ammo and be alone instead of spending time with friends and family?

Why not both?

1
Apollopnir 1 point ago +1 / -0

Trapped in Dallas. Family lives too far from me and my closest friend just decided to move his ass to northern U.S. everyone else I know has plans with their families.

Besides not many of them care about the country. Pretty much shrugged at the mask laws and shrugged at the stolen election, the "who cares as long as it doesn't affect me" types. They also believe the whole media line on why gas is spiking, not people I want to spend my 4th with.

Don't get me wrong I don't hate that people are celebrating. I just have my own way that doesn't involve fireworks ;)

5
MythArcana 5 points ago +5 / -0

Biden's Farm Bureau is full of guano. Same local placed had chicken at $1.99/lb. in the Trump era, now it's at $6.99/lb/ on sale. Are they using Common Core math again?

4
TraitorJoes 4 points ago +4 / -0

I just entered all these items into my Hy-Vee cart and it came up as $84.81 plus tax...

I didn't gold plate anything. I uses generic house brands for most items and middle of the road items such as Bush's beans, Lays chips, Ball Park buns.

Throw in some charcoal, catsup, mustard, lettuce, onions and tomatoes for the burgers and your are well over $100.00 to feed 8 people.

$12.50 per serving for a low class BBQ....

FJB

1
TrannyClausSliceDice 1 point ago +1 / -0

Going to store grand for Beans, chips and especially buns could save a considerable amount of money.

But yeah, i feel you. I have 5 children AND a wife. I’m the sole income earner and grocery bills are astronomically hire than they were the last few years (During trumps term). It’s rough.

But as far as chips, for example.

I was in the store a couple days ago and a regular (not large) sized bag of ruffles was almost $5 fucking dollars. Lays/ Cheetos etc were $4.

Kroger/ Walmart brand etc buns are like $1 and change. The name brand is much more expensive

1
in_the_end_08 1 point ago +1 / -0

The worst part is shrinkage on the net weight of chips. Double whammy when you include the price.

Hurry up with the crickets already.

4
KeepingAmericaGreat 4 points ago +4 / -0

Bacon is sold in 12oz packages instead of 16oz packages but my place charges the same price.

That means it costs me 25% more, not whatever inflationary figure claimed on TV.

2
PoohClimbsTrees 2 points ago +2 / -0

Us old timers remember when Sugar came in 5lb bags.

Then boom 4lbs and never mentioned. Just like today and packaging changes/deceptions those are hidden from the numbers.

3
TrumpingTheStorm 3 points ago +3 / -0

Meme smiths need to take this but on the bottom change to food to a single hamburger with no toppings and a bottle of water. I am unfortunately away from my pc.

2
Jbliss 2 points ago +2 / -0

I took the $0.16 I saved last year and shorted the stock market with it. More than covered my July 4 cookout! Don't tell me I'm the only one who did this - everyone here knew the market would take a Schiff.

2
VoteRepublicanAgain 2 points ago +2 / -0

I feel like idk if we should be patriotic or not because we don't even have fair elections in our country along with so many other problems we have.

I want to be patriotic & I'm all for that but at the same time we have a senile lying pedophile as the president now so are we supporting him & the illegal leftist regime if we're patriotic on the Fourth of July?

2
Gwoz8881 2 points ago +2 / -0

Where are you getting such cheap prices for it to be up only $10.18?

2
FudgyFudgeBots 2 points ago +2 / -0

$10.18? The cost of food in my state has doubled.

2
BoomShtick 2 points ago +2 / -0

No party this year and no trip to the fireworks store.. Kids are all staying home and there are plenty of cities around that have canceled their displays.. 1
PoohClimbsTrees 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thia source is full of propaganda.

The average cost of a summer cookout for 10 people is $69.68, which breaks down to less than $7 per person. The overall cost for the cookout is up 17% or about $10 from last year, a result of ongoing supply chain disruptions, inflation and the war in Ukraine.

10 people for $70? Hahahaha

1
ImpregnatingYourDad 1 point ago +1 / -0

paints a crazy picture of how crazy the shitshow has been that they felt a need to brag about $0.16

1
