I conduct estate sales. Lots of old people keep tons of coins in coffee tins and other jars. Since the pandemic, lots of old people died, lots of estate sales. The first thing families do is go to the bank and cash in all the coins for dollars. There's no shortage.

I keep a fair bit of cash on hand during road trips to rural America precisely for that reason. When it comes to coinage they usually eat the cost if they have any trouble making change...though most of the time I give a good tip and don't ask for change.

Back around that same time, my local Dunkin made a big show of hanging up plastic screens and going to "touchless payments" and claimed they would only take cards.

But they still maintained a tip jar with cash.

I asked them if it was okay if I placed a dollar bill in their jar as a tip. "Sure go ahead," they said. "Thanks, since you are okay with cash, then I will also pay for my coffee in cash too."

The cashier looked a little confused at first but they took my damned cash money and they did it every other time I came in.

But in the last 6 months it’s ramped up A LOT.

Knowing how NY operates, leaving that field blank or putting N/A will cause the permit process to hang, kick back, or get denied.

Some counties in NY will only give one shot to get a successful permit, others may put a lock out for up to a year to reapply if denied.

In 1803 Marbury v Madison, Chief Justice Marshall created the concept of Judicial Review out of thin air, and the Federal courts have been unconstitutional ever since.

The States were the check on bad Federal laws (nullification). The people were supposed to be the check on bad state law. I suggest it's time for us to learn how to do that again.

There needs to be consequences for enacting unconstitutional laws. The courts will have to act swiftly to injunct this law before it goes into effect September 1st, and strike it down immediately. This is NY telling the supremes they don't matter because the legislature can act quicker than they can. Unfortunately, Sotomayor is the circus justice so it won't likely be granted injunction until it reaches the supremes. She'll sit on it as long as possible before denying injunction, at which point the 9 will hear the case, granting injunction immediately and overturning the second circus earlier ruling in favor of the state. Then NY's legislature will return to work, crafting parallel legislation equally or more egregiously violating gun rights. These clowns think this shits a game.

This is just pure retaliation. The law is incredibly overbrobroad, such as bidding and concealed carry in places where children may gather. So if you’re carrying in somehow some children gather near you, you’re now committing a felony without even realizing it.

All the democrats are doing is making unconstitutional laws so they can get their way a little longer. All of this will be found unconstitutional and overturned in the courts. It'll take probably at least 6 months for it to get back to the US supreme court.
