How is everyone BUT the governor candidate winning that trump endorsed???? In arizona

Kansas voted over 65% to keep abortion. WTF

-1
cryogen -1 points ago +1 / -2

That's not what the vote is about

2
RealRightSideOfHist 2 points ago +2 / -0

Elaborate?

1
cryogen 1 point ago +3 / -2

Whatever happens with this vote the KS legislature still has the power to regulate abortion

The proposed amendment is a literal nothing burger. All it does at best is ward off some liberal activist judicial or executive moves

1
Arkanicide2022 1 point ago +1 / -0

You're not correct. The issue is that the KS supreme court in the past made the Otis decision that stated the KS constitution includes an explicit right to abortion. The reasoning was worse than Roe. This amendment would explicitly state that no such right is stated and the legislature must make any such law governing abortion.

4
RealRightSideOfHist 4 points ago +4 / -0

It still represents a blow to the pro-life crowd, does it not? In which case I say WTF!? I thought Kansas was a conservative state? You didn’t actually let the left wing manipulate you into voting to protect abortion, did you?

-1
Sean_Spicer -1 points ago +1 / -2

they are voting to NOT alter their constitution. this whole thing is being misrepresented.

2
Arkanicide2022 2 points ago +2 / -0

You don't understand the issue. The issue is that the KS supreme court in the past made the Otis decision that stated the KS constitution includes an explicit right to abortion. The reasoning was worse than Roe. This amendment would explicitly state that no such right is stated and the legislature must make any such law governing abortion.

0
Sean_Spicer 0 points ago +1 / -1

And you don't understand that when people are asked to vote on removing a "right", whatever it may be, and one decision might seem to extreme and the other too permissive, most people will choose permissive.

It's simple. let's not get crazy

2
RealRightSideOfHist 2 points ago +2 / -0

Not alter a part of their constitution that protects abortion?

If so, that sounds like it needs to be altered.

1
Sean_Spicer 1 point ago +1 / -0

Most of the country doesn't support a full ban from moment of conception. there is room to meet somewhere reasonable, like a heartbeat law or something.

full and hard ban is political suicide.

1
UpTrump 1 point ago +2 / -1

Hey if I'm wrong my bad, I'm not from Kansas. I'm under the impression that the vote is to keep abortion rights in the state constitution, no?

1
Arkanicide2022 1 point ago +1 / -0

The issue is that the KS supreme court in the past made the Otis decision that stated the KS constitution includes an explicit right to abortion. The reasoning was worse than Roe. This amendment would explicitly state that no such right is stated and the legislature must make any such law governing abortion.

4
IlhanOmarsFagBrother 4 points ago +4 / -0

No, a couple years ago some leftist judge ruled that abortion is constitutional in Kansas. This amendment does nothing but says specifically that the Kansas Constitution does NOT take a stand at all on abortion and it's up to legislative body to determine (and thus voters could vote on it rather than be subject to some asshole judge's ruling at a whim)

1
Arkanicide2022 1 point ago +1 / -0

This is the correct answer.

4
Diotima 4 points ago +4 / -0

John Gibbs leading Meijer with 13% in

4
UpTrump 4 points ago +4 / -0

Barely. I thought Meijer would get blown out. what's going on???

3
Lovesassycoffee 3 points ago +3 / -0

Democrats are voting in our primary. I am in district 3. The democrats in this district have no reason to vote in their primary so they are voting in ours. You do not need to be registered as a republican to do so.

3
ToTheRescues 3 points ago +3 / -0

There should be a law or rule against that shit.

2
BestTimeToBAlive 2 points ago +2 / -0

in FL u must b registered R or D to vote in primary for that party.

In some states like GA, you don’t. And the opposites come out to fuck up the primary

2
JokerPede 2 points ago +2 / -0

I voted for Bernie in the GA primary in 2016 to hopelessly weaken The Hillary.

2
Lovesassycoffee 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's ridiculous. People on the local reddit page (grand rapids) were talking about how they were going to vote in our primary. I didn't even know that was possible.

2
RealRightSideOfHist 2 points ago +2 / -0

Some states really need to get caught up in protecting their primaries from manipulation like this.

4
Diotima 4 points ago +4 / -0

Meijer has establishment money and Big D running attack ads against his opponent for a primary. It’s clear Ds want Meijer. Gibbs is underdog and doing well so far.. plenty of votes to go.

0
UpTrump 0 points ago +1 / -1

Ottawa is 95% in and those are most of Gibbs' votes. Kent is 20% in and Meijer has a huge lead there. I'm afraid to say Meijer's probably gonna win. I truly don't understand it.

1
Lovesassycoffee 1 point ago +1 / -0

Dems in kent voting in republican primary.

2
Diotima 2 points ago +2 / -0

Guess I’ll find out in morning going to bed… good luck Gibbs!!

1

And Gibbs takes the lead!!

1

2

But abortion gets to stay. That's bs

0
cryogen 0 points ago +2 / -2

That's not what the amendment vote is even about

1
SkepButOpen 1 point ago +1 / -0

But at least that shows you that there was no election fraud. I mean if trumps candidates won by votes from people who support abortion?

Although that might be a chance for Democrats to claim election fraud. Because that’s what people do when they lose. They claim election fraud. They don’t look at anything else, they don’t look at any other reasons why you might’ve lost your base, they just blame election fraud.

Well, I would’ve agreed with you before. But patriots have taken steps to try to ensure the elections are more secure. I mean we have to at least try. If we don’t vote at all, they win. We have to at least try. Even if they’re going to steal it, we should make it harder for them.

And I get it about just making Memes and thinking you were doing something. I hate that whole mindset, I really do. But look, it takes a tiny bit out of your day to go and vote and we’re never going to know if we’ve actually fix anything if we don’t vote for our candidates and hope they win. What if we actually did fix it, let’s just say sometime in the future, we actually fix the election process, but don’t go and vote. Dems would still win.

Sitrep on Voting in Maricopa County:

Maricopa includes the Phoenix Metro area and a whole lot of burbs, towns, villages, and whatnot. It really is out in the desert, the Sonoran Desert to be precise. Population is about 4.7 million and includes many, many retirees.

My polling place was very busy. Cars constantly in and out of the parking lot.

I waved to a group of workers sitting under a tent and trees outside. They called, "Thank you for voting!"

I said, "I hope it matters."

"It does! Oh, it does!" they called back.

They must be Democrats, I thought.

And I didn't mean "it won't matter because I'm only one person." I meant, "it won't matter because of the fraud." Not sure they knew that.

Anyway, only had to wait for maybe one or two people ahead of me. You have to show photo ID, such as a drivers license, and it is scanned into their computer system.

After that, your ballot is printed out and you take it to a booth - the tabletop kind with cardboard dividers around it. You are required to use their Sharpie marker to fill out the ballot, which means filling in the circle beside the candidate's name with the Sharpie.

Then you give the completed ballot to the another person. He waved it dry first, just to make sure, and then fed it into a scanner. Ballot disappears. That's it.

The whole process was quite efficient and the people were nice. Everyone seemed upbeat. And we do have to show ID, so that's good.

The only trouble is: Once that ballot disappears into a scanner, you don't have the slightest idea what happens to it. It could be shredded for all you know.

Ballots are supposed to be packed up and taken to a "counting center" in downtown Phoenix. I was a poll watcher for two days in 2020 and saw that being done. But again - those ballots disappear into a van and could go anywhere. Or nowhere.

The voting process seems fine. It's not the problem. The problem is what happens to the ballots after the person votes. That process is entirely unaccounted for, and we know why.

If it was up to me, the voter would place their completed ballot into a big plastic bin and those bins would NEVER leave the polling place. They would stay right where they are in plain sight AND would have cameras on them 24 hours a day.

All counting would be done right there on site, in full view of observers from all parties and in full view of cameras.

When the parties are willing to do this, then I might trust our elections. But not before.

4
ShyRipley 4 points ago +4 / -0

Amen. That's the way it used to be done. They had their chance with machines and "counting centers". Neither has sped up the process and indeed have slowed down vote counting, not to mention the other nefarious things these offer. Time to go back to the tried and true.

Thank you for voting, Fren.

Any recommendations for Arizona representative for Congress District 6?

Options are:

Winn, Kathleen

Ciscomani, Juan

Free, Lucretia

Martin, Brandon

Mayberry, Young

EDIT: Apparently Brandon Martin was endorsed by Trump as shown in a video on his website and Kathleen Winn is endorsed by Kari Lake and Mark Finchem so either one of them would likely be a good choice. Thoughts?
