29
LTC_Henry_Blake 29 points ago +31 / -2

That was during the 2020 election cycle for a short period of time. He said his normal earnings were between 185-300 daily.

That was before any pennies were spent paying for anything.

All said he's pretty screwed.

This is the 2nd lawsuit he's gotta pay out on.

I watch him daily. They are Hawking merch like 50-60% off.

It's sad.

But to me it proves everything he's ever said is right because if he was an actual liar and an idiot you would put him in the Town Square for the whole world to see exactly how crazy he was

27
GodHatesBiden 27 points ago +28 / -1

he's also claimed a mere 3 million dollar settlement will bankrupt him.

running an operation that size is a huge expenditure.

No, Joe Rogan doesnt even pull in the kind of bank to just pay off a 50Mil fine.

12
BulletsForTeethORG 12 points ago +14 / -2

Jones has all kinds of advertisign and endorsement deals, not just his radio show. He's got a large and faithful audience, and they will buy whatever he endorses. So yes, he can recover, it will just take some time. He will be much better prepared for this kind of thing in the future, that's for sure.

Like putting some money in some off shore investments for one.

12
Hawkman 12 points ago +12 / -0

I’m pretty sure he’ll survive. On top of that isn’t there a cap to this kind of damages? So it won’t actually be 45mil but rather a fraction of that?

14
Test_user21 14 points ago +15 / -1

Yes, but not only that, the entire kangaroo-ness of this show trial will be vitiated. Jones is allowed to make statements, even ones that piss off or upset other people.

None of the families were named by name, and none showed any damages (mostly cause not being damaged causes no damages), and the judge was acting as an agent/counsel for the plaintiff.

I'm sure there are various other legal wranglings that Jones' lawyers already had cooked up.

if you yell "fire" in a theater, and no one is hurt, except for feelings ("I was so scared"), should you pay $45 billion dollars?

2
Chad_Dudebroski 2 points ago +2 / -0

In this case, someone told you there was a fire, so you loudly repeated them. It was believable too because you saw smoke, but it was just someone vaping. You apologized and explained you were wrong on that call as soon as you found out.

Still a $45 million settlement?

Wtf_socialismreally 49 points ago +52 / -3

Kyle Rittenhouse was deliberately misrepresented by the media, as was Sandman. They weren't investigating, they were trying to ruin the kids' lives.

Alex just doesn't buy into the Sandy Hook story, and vehemently stands by it.

Additionally, this trial encapsulated more than just Sandy Hook related stuff, which already taints your attempt at making a point.

Distinctions matter. Alex Jones believes that it was a false flag. That points at the government first. And yes, that should be protected, or it should open mainstream media up to pay tens of millions for every single lie they have ever made.

It is a black and white issue. If the media is allowed to make any statements that they want and get slaps on the wrist or no consequences at all, so should he.

But when you specifically involve private citizens and misrepresent what happened through obfuscation of the facts and lies, and there is countless video proofs to the contrary that you willfully ignore, WHILE ALSO MISREPRESENTING THE RIOTS THAT WERE HAPPENING AND WHY HE WAS THERE TO BEGIN WITH, YES. YOU ARE INFRINGING ON A PRIVATE CITIZEN'S RIGHTS AND ATTEMPTING TO FUCKING IMPRISON THEM, WHILE THREATENING TO SEND THEM THROUGH WOOD CHIPPERS AND WORSE, YOU. FUCKING. PAY. THEM.

DISTINCTIONS. MATTER.

17
day221 17 points ago +17 / -0

He doesn't believe it was a false flag but he entertained the idea that it was before he knew or otherwise arrived at his current conclusion. There was never any evidence he lied or ought to have known. It is not a crime to question government narratives (or is it now?). Also the case didn't even meet the standard for defamation. He never specifically identified anyone (his comments were general) and the plaintiffs wrote books and did interviews by choice so are public figures.

-7
Patriot_Rob -7 points ago +7 / -14

Not Deporting, but certainly blocking you cause of your pansy attitude and opinions.

12
Wtf_socialismreally 12 points ago +14 / -2

Nothing is more pansy than blocking someone and stating that you're blocking them.

Distinctions matter. If you don't understand the lines that define what is okay and falls under the Constitution and what doesn't, then I suggest you go find a reputable college that will teach you.

-9
ESFF -9 points ago +4 / -13

"Alex just doesn't buy into the Sandy Hook story, and vehemently stands by it."

Then why did he say under oath that he now believes it happened?

10
DJTrump 10 points ago +10 / -0

He believes kids were murdered. He didn't say everything relating to it was on the up and up.

23
PeterO 23 points ago +23 / -0

The real story here is the default judgement against alex without a trial. Even if guilty he was not given a fair trial.

Nobody was cheering for johnny dep because he is a right wing hero and amber is an evil leftist. People were cheering for justice.

11
BestTimeToBAlive 11 points ago +11 / -0

The judge’s rules for this case stated that AJ could NOT mention:

Freedom of Speech

First Amendment Rights

enter a Not Guilty plea

How f’d up is that?!

5
BigDickTurner 5 points ago +5 / -0

Thats possibly the worst part of the whole thing. Not allowed to plead not guilty? Then how is there a trial? Not allowed to mention his constitutional rights that would exonerate him? Again, if the judge says you cant defend yourself then there was no trial, you could convict anyone of anything on this basis.

Is supervillain Donald Trump guilty of murdering Hillary Clinton? "Now Donald, you cant plead not guilty, nor mention the fact that Clinton is right here in the audience. Ooh look, he plead guilty, case closed"

Like seriously what the fuck? How are the plea and the evidence within the judges power to decide?

1
BestTimeToBAlive 1 point ago +1 / -0

It’s so horrible. We’re entering a new realm of “justice”. Not a fair, honest or blind one.

3
EricCharliemella 3 points ago +3 / -0

The only thing that needs to be said in this entire thread of opinions is this....

Did AJ exercise his free speech RIGHT and express an opinion that was unfavorable to some?

Yes.

Ok, so where is the crime? Free speech exists, or it doesn't.

23
CentralAmericanPede 23 points ago +23 / -0

Your faggot ass probably thinks Kyle Rittenhouse killed 3 black people and that Nick Sandman attacked a Native American man.

7
Gesirisi 7 points ago +8 / -1

I believe Kyle Rittenhouse will have to prove in court that the media knowingly lied about him and that it caused him harm. Seems easy to prove they lied, I heard lies from them constantly. The Sandman story was a blatant lie.

Did they prove Jones lied about Sandy Hook? Where's the receipts?

6
Dontstopbelieving 6 points ago +6 / -0

Seems like they would need to prove sun pipple did sumting at sandy hoax. This could be a huge awakening by picking at a false flag scab that actually slaughtered kids. The symbolism of the date, ley lines, building layout exactly like the ancient sacrifice site, actors, etc are not topics they wanted to be exposed. It had mostly gone away until they revived it

2
Trumpamania2020 2 points ago +2 / -0

Did you watch the trial?

5
day221 5 points ago +6 / -1

They proved nothing. What did he lie about? The only thing they showed is he made a mistake and got something wrong. There was never any proof that he lied and you can't say he should have known better because false flags are a real possibility and been done before.

This is not like the Sandman case where CNN just had to watch a 5 minute video video to see they were destroying a kid's life with lies and then refused to acknowledge the truth even after it was objectively brought to their attention and proven.

1
Pwoody11 1 point ago +3 / -2

They didn't have to prove anything when Alex is on record admitting it was real and he was wrong, and repeated the same on the stand.

-1
day221 -1 points ago +1 / -2

Dude, are you a retard? Being wrong is not defamation. Lying is. The only time "being wrong" can be defamation is when it's intentional or effectively intentional due to willfull ignorance and gross negligence. That doesn't apply here because false flags are real and have happened before, so his position was entirely possible. For him to know the truth he would have had to do huge amounts of investigative work, not simple do a 1 minute internet search that yields hard proof and debunks it. What about this is so hard for you to understand?

2
onomatopoeia 2 points ago +2 / -0

His income/earning will be forever garnished and his estate will have any remaining damages as a lean.

Alexa Jones, who identifies as a woman, and no longer legally identifies as Alex has entered the chat. They jury are a bunch of trans haters and should be investigated by the FBI for their 45 million dollar hate crime against Alexa.

3
EricCharliemella 3 points ago +3 / -0

I like where your heads at, but leftists will not entertain this, as politics is their one true religion, and it will supercede any trans rights by far.

1
Necrovoter 1 point ago +1 / -0

True -I'm sure leftists wouldn't let it slide. On the plus side - if everybody and their dogs identify as trans and then flip back to straight and then trans - it will drain a lot of the leftist narrative and open a few more eyes of people that are on the fence. Also , when they try to put Alexa Jones in jail, zhe will be in a women's prison and likely able to organize more resistance from the inside.

Yeah, I think Alex doesn't really care. At least, that's what he's acting like. He gave the phone over with all the information for discovery. The plaintiff's lawyer violated code of ethics by accessing information outside the scope of the discovery order. I'm not a lawyer but I think it may factor in on appeal. The plaintiff's lawyer would normally face disciplinary action for such gross misconduct but we live in clown world so....

Isn't that called discovery you kind of have to give over what's asked for.

5
endthefed11 5 points ago +5 / -0

I think that may have been a mistake but idk. The plaintiff's lawyer passed it on to the J6 committee.

3
Cavetoad_1776 3 points ago +3 / -0

the messages weren't from the SH time period. That's the fun part, they had nothing to do with the case.

I think that's the ultimate play here.

4
TheTelltaleFly 4 points ago +4 / -0

But they weren’t from the J6 time period either. They were 2019 to Jan 2020 or something like that.

2
Antisocialdilemma 2 points ago +2 / -0

What's really crazy is that his mobile phone records will show that he didn't lie. He believed what he was saying was the truth. So it wasn't malicious and knowingly lying about the plaintiffs. And they had those records.

12
N7fury 12 points ago +13 / -1

I kept hearing him say it didn't matter if the jury ordered him to pay a 100 million or a billion dollars. It made no difference. I'm guessing they were alluding to anything over the cap amount was moot. Robert Barnes talked about it on the show today I believe

5
endthefed11 5 points ago +6 / -1

I interpreted that as they will have to shut down whether it is 10 million or 100 million because they won't be able to pay it.

7
N7fury 7 points ago +7 / -0

Yeah, he may have not been talking about the punitive damages and the Texas statute. Regardless, the jury ordering only 4 mil in the defamation trial was actually a win considering how rigged this was and in Travis County no less

4

That's just the legal wording, how they're getting the total so high without going over the caps, or so it appears.

1
day221 1 point ago +1 / -0

No it's not just legal wording. Words have meaning. They had no mental anguish from AJ, if anything they enjoyed being able to blame someone and it helped them cope with the fact their child was killed. The opposite of mental anguish. The source of their anguish wasn't AJ but the guy who killed their kid. Also you're wrong about the cap. This is capped at 1.5. They needed a high amount on the other portion and they didn't get it.

The narrative makes perfect sense as bait for idiots to latch onto. Look at how well it's worked. Instead of believing that the deep state murdered a bunch of kids (indirectly) and tried to use that to enact more gun control, which actually happened, these loons believe that they pretended to murder a bunch of kids but then made sure none of them died, because they just love kids so much and would hate to harm one.

when this happened it was still rather rare for smartphones to be in the hands of babes, Iphone 4 was out in 2012 and wasn't being heavily subsidized as of yet by mobile companies. Hence why all the sckrool chitrens didn't make any recordings.

The probable reason that the bullets missed was that Chris Christie's rhino ass was in town and his gravitational pull caused the bullets to hit his lumpy ass. That's why they don't release any footage. Cuz they would also have to explain why they lied to us about gravity, space and time.

Adam Lanza is the FBI Florida kid?

14
SonofAnu 14 points ago +14 / -0

no that's David Hogg, Lanza was the alleged shooter of Sandy Hook, the kid who is autistic but smart enough to remove the hard drives from his PC and drill over a hundred holes in it to destroy any data on the disc array.

12
b00nis 12 points ago +12 / -0

I’m just saying, someone pointed out the similarities between the two a bit ago to me and now, I have such a deep distrust of official narratives that after looking at a side by side, they MIGHT actually be the same person.

Also odd that we haven’t heard shot about Lanza or (hardly) any other mass shooter after they’ve carried out their mission.

Yeah that was weird huh? I figured, "oh that's absurd", but then I started looking at photos.

I always thought there was more to Hogg because his father was FBI and suddenly he was thrust into the limelight. The only thing I would say is if they intentionally put him back out there and it was the same person, that's really gutsy. It would be way smarter to keep him off the map.

The 'mom' I heard talking in a clip made me start questioning it for the first time. She was so phony and weirdly looked like she was trying to convince AJ that it happened instead of her knowing it happened, if that makes sense. It was a strangely unemotional delivery of a surface level very emotional speech, very very much felt like something was off. Would not be surprised if she was a fed.

The court did this because Jones refused to respond to the suit.

12

He respond to the lawsuit and was deposed several times. He turn over all documents and even allowed them access to his emails. Does that like someone who didn’t respond to a suit?

-18
BDSsufferer -18 points ago +3 / -21

you're confused. that's ok though. i'm sure all of this is very complicated for you.

alex jones engaged with proceedings in regard to damages, but he did not engage with the suit to determine whether he spread false claims, which began in 2018. he did not hand over the documents or evidence he was asked to produce. he was found guilty by default because of this.

you know he tried to settle, right? innocent people don't settle...

20
TravlingThr0ugh 20 points ago +20 / -0

Lots people settle who are innocent. They just want the problem to go away. Settling doesn’t equal guilt. He gave them thousands of documents and was deposed for several hours. Just because the judge was not satisfied with the documents she gave a default judgement. Go back to be retarded.

-6
BDSsufferer -6 points ago +4 / -10

fair enough. sometimes innocent people are found guilty wrongly and try to settle. i'll take that point back.

you can't argue with the fact he was found guilty of defamation by default for failing to turn over documents though. it happened. four times

Others have pointed out that Texas law caps punitive (“exemplary”) damages at twice the compensatory damage award plus $750,000. Moreover, an exemplary damage award requires an unanimous jury, and only ten of the twelve jurors agreed on the original $4.1 million compensatory award. And if the jury’s original award was for non-economic damages, i.e. to compensate them for pain and suffering, then they may only get the $750,000 in this phase of the trial. Which is perhaps why plaintiffs’ counsel tried to “anchor” the jury at $150 million in the first place.

3
Biggles 3 points ago +3 / -0

is that 750k a pop or 750k aggregate?

8
fjobb 8 points ago +8 / -0

All well and good but its a travesty of justice still, just due to the obvious bias. Declaring it a default verdict, usually reserved for people like fleeing court or wiping servers, like with a cloth. The obvious belligerence of the judge. His lawyer being a retard with the phone turn over thing. He's gagged and can't defend himself at all apparently. The whole thing is just a sham and disgraceful if he is not allowed to appeal this.

Oh for fuck's sake. He lost the trial by default because he made the decision to not defend himself. That was his choice. He lost by default for failing to produce documents or respond to the suit in any way. How would it make sense for him to now have the right to appeal?

11
XDingoX83 11 points ago +12 / -1

Many very intelligent lawyers who followed the trial for this entire time disagree with you.

https://twitter.com/barnes_law/status/1554658314805559296

Jones gave up tons of documents in discovery. Then the courts lied and pretended he wasn't going along with what they asked.

6

fjobb 5 points ago +5 / -0

I won’t pretend I’ve followed this super closely. Everything I’ve seen does not show he just completely ignored the process. Do you have anywhere to read about this that isn’t msm that just calls him a conspiracy theorist and doesn’t really have any details? Also, the fact that the judge was very obviously biased is not good either, and is the precedent of this fair? Assuming you are completely right, does it warrant the plaintiff not having to still prove the case? I’m more than willing to admit I’m wrong but it certainly doesn’t look fair, from my pov. There is obviously an effort to silence him, that doesn’t make me want to take their word on it.

Alex must sue for defamation.

11
ghost_of_aswartz 11 points ago +13 / -2

Alex Jones could countersue them because they made a news story falsely alleging that he gave them child pornography that the court ordered him to hand over along with his phone / laptop etc; and this CP was sent to him and the fbi already cleared it as not his.

So they used this to knowingly defame him, which is the basis of defamation. He could actually take them all down because of it.

3
CentralAmericanPede 3 points ago +3 / -0

And why is that worth millions of dollars in damages, exactly?

-5
Uzkekistani -5 points ago +2 / -7

People receive damages in other situations like a family member being killed because of a company...there is no real way to compensate, besides putting someone behind bars, so the accepted solution is to throw an insane amount of money at it

The only thing worse that losing a child in a school shooting, the only thing that hurts more, is to see am autistic nutjob convincing thousands of people that not only is your child alive, you're a paid actor

Can you IMAGINE what that could do to your mental state? It's not just "oh I'm sad, I'll get over it eventually" it's a life altering event compounded by the most hurtful thing to say about that moment

The man SHOULD have to pay millions of dollars

6
AmannamedRJ 6 points ago +7 / -1

The only thing worse that losing a child in a school shooting, the only thing that hurts more, is to see am autistic nutjob convincing thousands of people that not only is your child alive, you're a paid actor

Excuse me? I'm sorry, last I checked this is the Motherfucking United States of America and people have a first amendment right to question whatever you say or criticize what happens to you. Your fee fees being hurt by an internet personality does not magically make you entitled to Millions in "damages" that didn't actually occur - And you can kiss my Patriotic nut-sack if you think this is a good hill to die on.

Alex Jones did nothing wrong and the harder they come down on him, The more i doubt these parent's retarded story.

-6
Uzkekistani -6 points ago +1 / -7

3

I... do not... give a fleeting front-flipping flying FUCK about "muh charicature." We both know hurt feelings should never equal the state punishing you for TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FOR POLITICAL REASONS, you absolute clown.

I'm a caricature? Well at the very least I know my 1st and 8th amendment rights - can't say that about the opposition who don't even know how many states are in the country, believe we declared independence from Mexico, and who think the Viet Kong just fought Godzilla in that movie last year.

kick rocks.

5
CentralAmericanPede 5 points ago +6 / -1

I don't understand the attitude some "pedes" around here have towards those asking questions during an ongoing, live thread. Discussion is what happens on a live thread. Go fuck yourself dude

7
Thelongrun 7 points ago +8 / -1

Thanks - to be honest I did ask that question so that people could join in the discussion, more than just asking for an iron-clad answer on the figure involved. It's called being sociable. It was the 'attitude' in the response that was unnecessary. You, sir, are a true pede and a gentleman. And a Patriot - I often see your comments and they are always sharp, informed and on the money.

I agree. I've pointed this out before. If someone already did the research, why should we waste 10,000 other pedes time researching the same thing. Some people around here don't understand how message boards work. Not to mention, we all have busy lives too

5
My_dick_screamed 5 points ago +5 / -0

Exactly. On top of that, why shouldn't we strive to be a harmonious community amongst ourselves? I don't particularly enjoy engaging in little flame wars with people but when someone is just being an aggressive jerk for no reason, I tend to say something.

1
try4gain 1 point ago +2 / -1

People ask questions that can very easily be Googled

Like it would take LESS time to Google it than to type out the question

The google for "Texas max for punitive damages" has the answer right at the top.

4
My_dick_screamed 4 points ago +5 / -1

If everyone had this attitude threads would never have any discussion or nuance. "Everyone, just Google the thread title. No discussion"

Does that sound very fun? Perhaps you don't have patience to explain things to people but others do. Don't be a party pooper

What EXACTLY is the rationale for the lawsuit in the first place? ASSUMING he's wrong, what the fuck even are the damages there? What was the actual "legal" thing going on here?

6
daveyistheman 6 points ago +6 / -0

That's what I don't understand. So even if we all agree Alex was wrong with his opinion and theory.....we are suing people for fucking THEORIES now??? Like, what the actual fuck. This sets the precedent that nobody can ever be wrong or you will pay millions of dollars. This is how you silence opposing thought.

3
CommieCucker 3 points ago +3 / -0

i'm sure you're familiar with the themes and tropes of "1984" via exposure by now, but if you haven't read it, go read it. It's fiction based on the REALITY of communist (centralized) control, WAY ahead of it's time (the author lived through it). The fact that it's way ahead of it's time is less praise on my part than it an acknowledgment of my fear, because the threats implied in the book are WAY more sophisticated now in the real world. Thoughtcrime and shit.
