My issue is more that the big media companies aren't held to the same standards. They lie and conspire with the government on a daily basis, but rarely do they suffer any consequences

It's an issue of how the business is incorporated, Jones is basically a one man band who own's his company, they can nail him in ways you couldn't nail Maddow I don't think.

It's like:

Our employee went a bit nuts sorry and their views do not represent the views of the LLC.

Whereas with Alex it's... Well, Alex Jones.

He literally has to pay millions for his free speech. Because he hurt someone's feels to point out the truth that there were loops going at Sandy Hook.

1
JLPWave 1 point ago +3 / -2

Was it "free speech" when CNN defamed Nickolas Sandman? You need to understand what the purpose of the court trial was. It wasn't to determine if Sandy Hook was a real or fake event. It was to determine if the alleged victims were entitled to compensation. The corruption you are mad about is upstream of the court system. Making this about the court system makes us hypocrites. How do you expect to win at anything when you fail to identify the scope of the problem at hand?

That being said I believe that Judge Maya Guerra Gamble acted as an activist and that Alex Jones should appeal to a higher court. The verdict should be in line with the law. Ruling Alex pay 49 million dollars when Texas has a $750k cap is ludicrously absurd and was meant to shape public opinion. It is like grand theft auto carrying a maximum sentence of 25 years in jail and the judge sentencing you to 80 just because they feel like it.

People tend to get really upset when they’re burying their dead children and you’re yelling on the internet it’s fake. Fucked around, found out.

Americansupremacist0 9 points ago +10 / -1

Ahhhh I forgot the government is allowed to intervene in free speech when it’s mean-spirited and hurts someone’s feelings. You are encouraging punishment of words. And giving the government the power to enforce it. Go to China with that retarded nonsense.

-7
AustinTX -7 points ago +3 / -10

Our first amendment doesn’t say you can spout out lies to millions of people without consequences. Talk shit, get hit.

5
Americansupremacist0 5 points ago +6 / -1

Yea it actually does prohibit the government from handing out consequences for speech. That’s why I specified government intervening. So I’m sorry you’re such a fragile pussy that can’t handle another persons words. Think about that, another person says something. And you can’t help but condone violence against words? Man the fucking commies will love your faggot ass.

-8
AustinTX -8 points ago +2 / -10

Keep crying, your nutjob hero got his ass handed to him... again.

3
Americansupremacist0 3 points ago +4 / -1

Just remember that if it becomes law that any speech going against the narrative is illegal, it’s because of people like you. I absolutely will cry over losing the right to free speech. You must be too young to understand it will never, ever stop with Alex Jones. The media already depicts many American values as mean and hateful. Going along this path will eventually lead to criminalizing any words perceived hateful. Imagine that, instead of the free market deciding if you should be able to refuse baking cakes for gay couples, merely suggesting gay people shouldn’t marry could warrant arrest. That’s the way I see it.

On conspiracies in general, there are so many truly evil acts perpetuated by the government and it’s agencies that have been proven true via FOIA requests. Only after someone submits a specific requests about very old government documents do we get the truth. I don’t see how that doesn’t make one suspicious. There are many vile operations carried out in just the past hundred years. They’ve purposefully given random people diseases, various drug and drug combinations, and they studied the effects. Many people died. They stole dead babies and put them inside a nuclear bomb radius to study the effect on human tissue. They planned domestic bombings and terrorist attacks to garner support for war with Cuba. But they wouldn’t take down the twin towers, an attack by foreigners which garnered support for war. That is literally operation northwoods. Did the US govt pull off 9/11? I can’t say they did but they absolutely had planned an event like that before. Did the govt execute an operation to kill a bunch of kids, or make up that hoax, in an effort to garner support for their true cause? I’m leaning towards yes. And I’m not finding much in our history to prove otherwise.

1
AustinTX 1 point ago +1 / -0

There is no "narrative". What these people are doing absolutely and truly believe they are doing what's best. Climate change, green energy, gun bans, gay marriage.... these are all things and more that they to the bottom of their heart believe is true and they need to fight for.

If you want to fight for your rights, if you want to keep your freedoms, you need to convince the other side that your ways are the correct ways. Screaming on TV kids getting killed was fake just proves them right.

Apparently you have zero knowledge about our first amendment or the legal system. your imaginary make believe definition of our first amendment isn’t how the real world works.

3
luche09 3 points ago +3 / -0

except he apologized and never mention anyone of them by name, they never asked for a retraction till after they sued and the judge basically took away all his defenses same as bannon, he couldnt even say he was innocent or prove she broke the law because he already did everything that prevents defamation, the only way to sue for defamation and emotional damage you first have to ask for a retraction, those were filed way to late to even count but heh activist judges are ok i guess

What a lot on idiots on here today don't seem to realize is this is just testing the water. Just like how they scrubbed Alex Jones from all social media before going on to go ban anyone who questioned the clotshot or called out groomers, they'll soon be going after any other blog, podcast, channel, or small news site that doesn't toe their line.

1
Jan6Insurrectionist 1 point ago +1 / -0

When they call you crazy or a liar for accusing them of something, that's the sign they're guilty of it.

Everyone needs to learn what defamation is. This topic has shown you just how few people here understand law.

2
Drooperdoo 2 points ago +4 / -2

Alex Jones never mentioned the guy's name until the trial. Literally. There is no video of him ever uttering it. That is NOT how defamation works.

Defamation is where you actually name someone and injure their character publicly.

What just happened is akin to the invisible man suing you for being a Peeping Tom.

("I know Alex Jones never actually mentioned my name, but he defamed me anyway!")

Bullshit.

This was Deep State fuckery. Right after the 2016 election, the DNC PUBLICLY put out a hit-list of the media outlets that helped Trump and they systematically took them down one by one. We're literally on a website right now that was de-platformed as a result of this systematic purge.

What happened to Jones was NOT about a 10 year-old story related to Sandy Hook. That was the pretext. The bullshit cover-story--and you fell for it.

onomatopoeia 2 points ago +4 / -2

Law? Like in rules? Or is that stupid impediment that inflates our currency into worthless oblivion? I can't tell. Post-covid vaxx, or post-911, (depends on when you consider our constitution dead, 1913$?) nobody gives a shit about that unless it's 'politically justified'. We are way past the soap box and ballot box.

-1
Objectivism -1 points ago +1 / -2

Getting tired of this "just do what the Democrats do" nonsense. Whoever has this perspective needs to get on with it already or stfu. You follow some laws but not others and rant online to feel like you're in control.

The whole point of this is to discuss what to do politically. You're sure as hell going to enforce those laws when we retake control. You're sure as hell going to want leftists arrested and won't listen to their vaguely libertarian cries of lawlessness.

We all agree the left and rinos are breaking rules. If you're at the point where you are done discussing, fine, good on you, but shut up and get to work on it then. Until then, Yea understand how the fuck the law works so you can tell the difference. Jones definitely defamed and is definitely liable.

By the way, he's already using bankruptcy to protect his money. You want to blow up those laws too? This is civil court meaning he can't be bodily harmed by these proceedings. No jail just money. Want to blow up those laws? They weren't always there.

No, you don't. You're just larping.

Oh I forgot to say. Your mother called me and said your monkeypox test came back positive. But I guess at least your HIV with have a partner now too. She also said she's ashamed of raising such a faggot and wishes I was her son. How did you fuck up so badly? All I had to do was finger her pussy and suck on her titties. Maybe try that next time step-bro..

1
Objectivism 1 point ago +1 / -0

We lost her to cancer a few years ago.

She wishes you were her son? What the fuck is wrong with you. You think you're some badass who can make anyone else feel anything on the Internet with that shit? I think by now you'd understand no one gives a shit about whatever the fuck insults you think would get them to do whateverthefuck you think it will make them do.

All you do with this is confirm you're ridiculous and worthy of being treated like a child who doesn't understand the world enough to be trusted in control of anything at all.

But hey at least you're engaged somewhere. Rather have you ranting pretending I care about it than idk actually preparing to put action behind your talk. Which is basically my point. Ignorance of the law is not something we need. But by all means, join the cannon fodder we'll need when it comes to it. Just don't think anyone is going to listen to you because you clearly aren't ready for what comes next if this is your reaction.

I just killed a homeless dude yesterday. Do I owe you $46 million cuz it ain't true?

1
Objectivism 1 point ago +1 / -0

No you moron. You owe damages for lies about other people, by name, if it ends up causing damages to them.

Try holding these two thoughts in your mind at the same time - "AJ is persecuted by those in legal authority: true" and "AJ is also not a perfect human who can cause damages and be liable for them: also true"

If those two thoughts are literally impossible for you to rationalize, just sit the fuck down and we'll get you some blocks to play with.

1

Just kinda seems like you're too big for your britches there, Champ. When's the last time you received a swift kick to the leg or an arm bar? I don't believe in fighting but I sure as shit would learn just so I can kick your lily ass.

1

Ah ha. Okie dokie big man. And in this fantasy fight, am I like a little wimpy guy in your mind? Probably not the type to have stopped boxing years ago right? I doubt you have taken a real punch to the face ever. You'd probably be surprised at the feeling.

Oh yeah, let's fantasize little big man. Go ahead tell me how it would go down. You'd probably be like so awesome right? And I'm like what in the gutter at the end or something amazing like that yea? Be glad you have a keyboard to hide behind.

What you can't Google

Well we should always try to accommodate the retarded I suppose. Here bud https://www.texastribune.org/2022/08/02/alex-jones-sandy-hook-defamation-trial/

Law says if you say "those directors of a company" or "these Italians here" or "those parents at that school" it applies just the same. You can't hide someone's good name behind a group and get away with it. You can't similarly hide behind "I believe" or "I speculate". Doesn't fucking matter. You do damages to reputations you pay prices if they care enough to sue you.

Look punkie mctoughguy, AJ fucked it up. That's all it is. If he had just said "allegedly" he would have been fucking fine. And guess what. He's not dumb enough not to know that, or at least I didn't think he was until now. It's a rookie media person mistake and he is eating it for it.

Now go find another outlet for your impolite ignorant foolishness.

1
onomatopoeia 1 point ago +1 / -0

Also Neil Heslin and Scarlett Lewis never had a child named Jesse. In Fact they aren't even married you, dumb twat. These are deep state actors. And it's bullshit Hollywood stuff. If you don't see that then idk what to tell you. Let's see the parents of the Uvalde 'murdered children' sue me for saying that it never happened. Also, George W Bush let 9/11 happen and Pearl Harbor was a US govt authorized attack on our own naval base. Fucking sue me you pussy ass bitch
