gop and fux news trying hard to split the party by pushing desantis

fuck the rinos. trump 2024, desantis 2028

even if trump was the WORST candidate i'd still want him first, just to piss in the eyes of all the gop traitors afraid of him. i want dick cheney to die of old age with trump in office.

no peace until the steal of 2020 is fixed. fuck all the goppers that want to move on.

26
Retard_Strength 26 points ago +26 / -0

i half expect the dems to ultimately admit it was stolen from him but then argue that he shouldve been serving the past 4 years and that it is his fault he didnt, and therefore he is ineligible since technically he was elected for 8 years

18
Goldsteinbergsky 18 points ago +18 / -0

That is exactly the kind of mental gymnastics/"logic" I would expect from them.

the case has no standing because i am the only offended party remaining.

4
ImpregnatingYourDad 4 points ago +4 / -0

nah, on the flip side there's the ultimate fantasy scenario...since he isn't actually serving his term, and presidents are actually able to serve up to 10 years, we get Joe Biden out, we get Trump back in sometime early next year, and then we elect him for another 4 years in 2024

gop wants to move on from trump because "he didn't win"

except he did win. the conservatives and the COUNTRY chose him.

not moving on to any other candidates to appease the rinos. certainly not to some shitass "jeb" with 1/4th the support and energy.

I'd happily take a DeSantis in 2028. In the mean time, Trump has unfinished business.

21
MobileDev4Trump 21 points ago +21 / -0

The truth is as much as we focus on the President as the figure head we need strong Governors more than we need the Presidency. States rights are the only thing keeping us free. The Supreme Court can hold back the Federal government as long as we prevent liberals from stacking it. We need Governors who will push back against Soros DAs and Federal overreach. The executive branch is largely captured by the Deep State and until we fire and replace most of them they will do nothing but tie up and undermine a conservative President with witch hunts, hoaxes, malfeasance, and treason.

3
Rosarian 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yes, it will be the states that take over when the federal government finally implodes, but WEF will walk into the weakest ones. Strong conservative governors will make the difference between life or death.

6
Cali_kid 6 points ago +6 / -0

I like hes going to fire woke government workers. Desantis is going for the head woke DAs and teachers. Trump should have done that in 2018

DeSantis for VP 2024?

14
Everquest4Life 14 points ago +14 / -0

He's the obvious second best choice to Trump. However, I think he's more useful as the Governor of the 3rd most powerful state and one that is essential for the electoral college.

There are a LOT of non-governors who will make an amazing VP.

5
PaulieM91 5 points ago +5 / -0

Personally I'd get 2 more governors like DeSantis before risking Florida like that

4
Long_time_lurker 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yeah, we need someone who can take over from DeSantis in Florida, then he can be president after Trump.

2
Bw2020 [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

Rand Paul for vp

4
SacredBandOfPedes 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'd prefer Rand as the Republican Senate Majority leader.

Let's switch out the Senior Senator from Kentucky with the Junior Senator.

1
goldwater4ever 1 point ago +1 / -0

Should have been Rand in 16

1
goldwater4ever 1 point ago +1 / -0

This was all I ever wanted lol

-1
GeneralSherman68 -1 points ago +1 / -2

I don't think he wants to be VP. Kristi Noem is a safe bet. Strong on policy but lacks a dynamic personality which might be a good thing. South Dakota will stay Red no matter what and Kristi will be loyal I believe. It's way too early for Kari Lake because she has to clean out the Arizona swamp.

4
PocketPosse 4 points ago +4 / -0

If he runs, Im writing him in. If the GOP wants to play chicken with me and pretend there is any candidate other than Trump, they will be sorry.

3
Cyer6 3 points ago +3 / -0

As good as Desantis is, Trump needs to finish the term he justifiably won and he's got A LOT of unfinished business.

1
CrenshawMAGAt 1 point ago +1 / -0

32
Formerlurker92 32 points ago +32 / -0

Didn't DeSantis already say he wouldn't run against Trump?

25
deemreo 25 points ago +26 / -1

yes.

fuckface news is trying hard to push desantis because it divides the party. suddenly instead of having two MAGA candidates with 95%+ similar policies, suddenly you have to choose one and reject the other.

suxnews and the g.o.penis is pushing desantis not just to hurt trump, but also so they can make bank off of a big primary. cocksnews and karl rove lose out bigtime if there isn't a big republican primary to hold 30k debates on, which loads up the left with ammunition to take down the nominee with.

don't fall for the uniparty bullshit. they will bury you to stay in power.

I think both Trump and DeSantis are well aware at this point that the enemy is trying to play "let's you and him fight!". Recently there was a report that an anonymous source said that Trump said something mean about DeSantis, and apparently neither of them took that very weak bait.

I'd say that DeSantis needs to start grooming a clear successor, but that's not a good verb for Floridians these days. Unless you work for Disney.

5
1
DeplorableCentipede 1 point ago +1 / -0

"I'm not considering anything beyond doing my job. We got a lot of stuff going on in Florida. I'm going to be running for reelection next year," DeSantis said in reply to Hannity's question on whether he was considering a presidential run.

That’s extremely wishy-washy. He’s saying he hasn’t considered it because he has more pressing issues on his mind. That isn’t the same as saying he’s considered it and decided not to run.

2
OKRancher 2 points ago +3 / -1

I never said that. Fuck off troll.

-6
Trumq2Q24 -6 points ago +4 / -10

Everybody always says this but never provides a source. Where and when did Ron say that?

1
Bw2020 [S] 1 point ago +2 / -1

I thought he said that to, but I've been trying to find a statement.

9
Seanp12 9 points ago +9 / -0

9
Angrygirl2211 9 points ago +10 / -1

5

the entire COUNTRY needs desantis in florida right now. showing everyone else how to get it done as a governor.

5
IMMORTAN_TRUMP 5 points ago +7 / -2

It’s a fake rivalry. D’Santis is the running mate.

6
deemreo 6 points ago +8 / -2

desantis is not the running mate.

that would be retarded. first, they're both from the same state, which means that desantis literally cannot be vp

second, vp is a literal do-nothing position. desantis is 1000x more effective showing all the other cuck republican governors how its done.

4
realPhantomFuck 4 points ago +4 / -0

vp is a literal do-nothing position

VP actually has a lot of soft influence and power

But I agree, he's much better in FL destroying Libs and mopping things up

2

Sorry, but I can't stand to look at all that extraneous referral crap appended to the URL again.

https://web.archive.org/web/20220703060057/https://news.yahoo.com/florida-gov-ron-desantis-says-031935029.html

OK, my 'tism-tastic urge is sated, carry on- and thanks for replying with the archive link in the first place.

1
Seanp12 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, I'm not sure where to get the shortened archive link. I only know the very surface-level stuff about how they work.

2
semsem 2 points ago +2 / -0

Oh, it's just by reading the URL as it's displayed. (You'll see a ".html" there, followed by a question mark, and clue terms like "counter" or "guccounter", and nine times out of ten all that crap after the *.html file extension is junk meant to track and log referrals, usually for traffic and ad analytics.) Read it often enough, with enough varying examples, and it just sort of starts to make sense. Then, try a change, and see if it works like you've guessed it would.

Chances are, that crap was there from browsing it on Yahoo, and archive.org just took what was passed to it dutifully but dully, cruft and all.

I've done too much server admin, and too much user manual revision, and at this point the urge to lop off the extra stuff is damn near compulsive for me. It's like a parent seeing their kid wearing clothes with the tags still attached and poking out everywhere; I can't help myself but to go fuss with it.

Props for posting an archived link.

30
ArchbishopofKekistan 30 points ago +30 / -0

The DeSantis push is coming from the establishment to split the Trump vote. Far as I am aware he doesn't have a lot of presidential aspiration, at least not now.

Neither of them should be playing into their hands.

I still believe in Crowder. Missed this past week, but will catch up.

16
Briben 16 points ago +16 / -0

And yet Pence and Haley will still run. Makes me think they are part of a set up plan to take trump out and leave themselves as the only remaining contenders.

4
zooty 4 points ago +4 / -0

It seems that it's often the worst candidate that is ultimately selected. That also kinda appeared to be the same case in 2016 except it turned out Trump wasn't what they thought he was.

15
DonttrustChina 15 points ago +15 / -0

We have, currently, two people we can trust with the Presidency. That's 12 years of Presidents right there if we can make it happen, time enough to actually unfuck the country.

But the elder of the two must serve before the younger because this is his last realistic opportunity. And moreover, he won his second term, and he must be allowed to serve it, even if that requires winning him a third.

13
2Fangz 13 points ago +13 / -0

Trump's 2nd term followed by a DeSantis two-fer would revitalize America to the core.

1
DonttrustChina 1 point ago +1 / -0

Even with 12 years...they'd have a hell of a task. I mean, the swamp is not gonna go quietly. I don't think a problem that built up over generations is gonna get completely sorted out in less than that. But they could leave us much, much better off than they are now. Trump burns down and then DeSantis rebuilds. I mean that's really how their strengths compliment. Trump is chaos, DeSantis is order. Another reason Trump has to go first, I mean there's a reason he's most famous for firing people.

MondayCoupleIsDead 7 points ago +7 / -0

No matter how many times certain people and Fox News shill for DeSantis i will never choose him over Trump. Trump has proven he can get the economy going, which we really fucking need right now, and i trust him implicitly when dealing with other countries. I can't say either for DeSantis yet.

It also makes me a tiny bit (bigly) uncomfortable that Fox and so many establishment friendly places are pushing DeSantis so hard. I know they hate Trump but it doesn't sit well with me at all.

So let DeSantis further prove himself in Florida because that's more important right now and by the time 2028 comes around we can talk. Until then... TRUMP 2024.

1
Modernturnkey 1 point ago +1 / -0

Trump also made a lot of bad decisions and poor choices. Stop hating everyone else because you love trump. America first candidates are a good thing, and it doesnt detract from trump. DeSantis isn't running for president. Stop pretending he might.

1
MondayCoupleIsDead 1 point ago +1 / -0

"Trump also made a lot of bad decisions and poor choices." Sure, he had some bad ones but the good to great decisions and choices far outweighed the bad. No one is perfect, not even Trump.

"Stop hating everyone else because you love trump." I don't hate anyone except Communists and Democrats, but they are the same thing.

"America first candidates are a good thing, and it doesnt detract from trump." Of course they are but where did I suggest otherwise? That's right. I didn't.

"DeSantis isn't running for president. Stop pretending he might." Good, he needs to defend Florida but as long as these polls keep coming out i'll have an opinion about it. If that bothers you that's your problem, not mine.

1
BeerAndCope 1 point ago +1 / -0

Desantis is more of a traditional conservative than Trump is. That is both good and bad.

Desantis will not take on the Republican establishment. That is a big negative. But in not going after them he will be able to push through a lot of conservative legislation that the GOP establishment would stonewall Trump on out of spite. We’ve seen them do it.

I believe Desantis would make a lot conservative systematic institutional changes that Trump wouldn’t be able to. I also believe Trump would be an attack dog against the establishment that Desantis wouldn’t be.

We need Trump to finish what he started. DeSantis was spawned because of Trump and will be a great Prez down the road but he is more effective as a Governor waking up Red States right now. I think when Trump announces his run DeSantis is smart enough to not.

1
ViaToil 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think Florida will put you on a naught list if you take their Governor away from them. Agree, need him to set president for other states to follow, has been doing a hell of a good job, standing firm and making things happen.

2
ViaToil 2 points ago +2 / -0

I would be fine with that, depending on who would take the lead in Florida if Desantis moves on. Will see over the next 6months+ how well DeSantis's governorship has shaped Florida. We need STRONG Maga leading as many States as we can else you will just have them fighting Trump all the way and causing the usual drama. heh. I am relieved that there are several strong, take no BS Maga folk out there now who would make a great VP. Am very curious to see how this rolls out!

My dad is a boomer and was all lecturing me on *don't split that ticket! If the rnc picks someone else then don't vote trump " duck that shit. I'm voting Trump regardless. So if the GOP doesn't want to be dissolved as a political party they better fucking make him their candidate otherwise they will lose. Me and tens of millions more like people are Trump or bust.

2
papa_newguineapig 2 points ago +3 / -1

This may not be a popular take, but Desantis puts us back on the path to greatness MUCH faster than Trump. Desantis has the ability to surround himself with the right people who are "political". Trump can surround himself with people in the business side of things, but his political chops are shit. I don't know why it didn't transfer, but it didn't. He started strong, then kicked them all out, and brought in snakes.

I'm not even 10% confident he is capable of correcting those mistakes, due to his insane level of hubris. I love the guy, but like he said himself, he was just the spotlight. It's time to move forward. I'll be fine with another 4 years of him, followed DIRECTLY with 8 years of Desantis though.

Desantis isnt a fucking retard. He may try in 24' but he isn't going to try to split the vote from trump, and he's more likely to wait til his term as governor ends in 27, for a 28 run and 8 guaranteed years in office as our next president.
