The shitty gun edition is lively today.

19
TrumpoWon2020 19 points ago +22 / -3

I love it frankly. Nice change.

19

I'm glad you do. And don't call me Frank Lee.

Shirley, you can't be serious.

5

I am serious, and don’t call me “surely!”

4

Serious is a weird name. Who's on first?

2
TangerineShine 2 points ago +3 / -1

Okay. Fair enough.

How’s “faggot”? Does that one work better for you?

a shitty gun is better than no gun….

33
MAGAMATT45 33 points ago +33 / -0

Quit using them shit red ball mags it won't jam, if you think this gun is inaccurate you can't shoot, it might feel like Chinese plastic but it's 100% merican made

6
Mattstakilla 6 points ago +6 / -0

Love my 9mm hi point. Never jammed once, even with the red ball mags. Shot spot on right out of the box.

No complaints.

5

Agreed.

So 'Hi-Point' does have a 100% Lifetime guaranty on all their guns... no questions asked.

https://www.hi-pointfirearms.com/hi-point-resources/hi-point-warranty.php

14
tentonbudgie 14 points ago +14 / -0

people do not know this about hi point

they stand behind their cheap shit 100% while advocating that they never be cleaned more than the barrel and chamber.

Send it in you will get a working one back

17
Bullet3250 17 points ago +17 / -0

I have seen videos of High Point guns being absolutely wrecked, - frozen, sunk, buried in mud, blown up, burned in a fire, hammered on, hammered with... driven over... and they kept firing.

12
Ched 12 points ago +12 / -0

And don’t forget straight up shot in the slide, then empty a mag beautifully.

9
ChaplainTappman 9 points ago +9 / -0

Epic Demolitia video!

5
TheCandorist 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yeah, mine never jams. Good ammo and an occasional cleaning. It's ergo could use some help and it's balance is funky but it shoots mostly straight and always shoots. I can't complain.

1
IamBACK 1 point ago +1 / -0

That was the Dukes of Hazard's "General Lee" and they used several cars to make it seem like the General was indestructible.

1
Bullet3250 1 point ago +1 / -0

they had like 14 copies of that car!

1
notCIA 1 point ago +1 / -0

they stand behind their cheap shit

God bless America

15
DickTick 15 points ago +15 / -0

What an unfortunate looking firearm......

For some reason there is a strange amount of overlap between a shitty gun and a shitty looking gun, as if they can't take the same shitty machines and make shity parts that they can then arrange in a way that doesn't look like ass......

23
Rope_Tree_Journalist 23 points ago +24 / -1

Dodge can do it with trucks and cars, why can't hi-point?

8
PraiseBeToScience 8 points ago +8 / -0

Every time I see these things they remind me of those stupid fictional guns you'd get with action figures in the 90s.

Or the guns that anti-gun political cartoonists try to draw when they don't know shit about guns.

Even the fucking magazine is an absolute eyesore.

3
Squeeze_BOX 3 points ago +3 / -0

Makes me think of the Cobra movie poster.

5
Sansa_Belt 5 points ago +5 / -0

Intratec's (KG-99) [remanufactured as a closed-bolt because they were being converted to full auto] semi-auto Tec-9 badass cool lookin'. Very popular in the ahem ...inner city housing projects. Function left a lot to be desired.

1
telan 1 point ago +1 / -0

It seems like George Kellgren has a lot of problems getting awesome looking guns to function properly.

14
Miztivin 14 points ago +14 / -0

Is that going to be the new army issued rifle? Sounds perfect for woke army.

14
PraiseBeToScience 14 points ago +14 / -0

Only if it comes with an emergency hanging rope in the buttstock.

Cutter 14 points ago +14 / -0

If your Hi Point carbine jams, use a different magazine! I have NEVER heard of one jamming, and although gawdawful looking and feeling, the things are built like tanks.

My only real gripe with the one I had (9mm) is that the front sight was apparently designed from parts scrounged from a leftovers bin.

7
Geralt_of_Rivia1 7 points ago +7 / -0

I have seen them jam all the time... From bad magazines

4
Cutter 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yeah I'm guessing the feed lips on OP's monopod are bent and the front sight is loose.

1
Patriot210 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah front sight seems to usually need tightening

1
notCIA 1 point ago +1 / -0

Usually I give people shit for using aftermarket mags and complaining about jams, but I let this pass because Hi point endorses these and sells them with the guns. I don't get it though. Seems like you wouldn't do that if they don't work.

5
brimshae 5 points ago +5 / -0

I had one jam once. A .22 brass flew out of the gun my friend was shooting next to me and wedged itself in the open ejection port while I was firing. Total million-to-one happenstance.

2
Cutter 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's the day you shoulda played the powerball lottery.

14
jonnyuno 14 points ago +14 / -0

I believe you. Though my HiPoint 9MM is heavy, ugly, and works fantastic.

13
Killroyusedtobehere 13 points ago +13 / -0

If accuracy sucks send it back to Hi Point, the jamming issue is likely the magazine, I have friends who love the 9mm version and even carry it in the truck. BTW, I don't own one, I went with keltec for a PCC.

7
abouttime4444 7 points ago +7 / -0

Husband has one, it's his fishing gun. Calls it the boat anchor. Never had any problems with it, accurate and never jams. Just heavy as hell. The kids got one too, its her tractor gun, she shoots well with it. They are the bottom of the barrel, but have their place.

5
Geralt_of_Rivia1 5 points ago +5 / -0

They came out in 1996, and honestly werent that bad of guns for 1996.

5
abouttime4444 5 points ago +5 / -0

He always says he doesn't know why people are so negative about them. They are a great option for folks that can't afford mid to top tier pistols. The price makes it easy for almost everyone to be able to protect themselves.

1
notCIA 1 point ago +1 / -0

The sub2000 is goated.

1
telan 1 point ago +1 / -0

I went with Beretta but I want all of them.

1
Geralt_of_Rivia1 1 point ago +1 / -0

I use a modified K98 with a 28 inch barrel in 45 ACP.

1
Squeeze_BOX 1 point ago +2 / -1

No you don't.

1
Geralt_of_Rivia1 1 point ago +1 / -0

It was only about 1500 bucks all in. Awesome gun

11
MAGA202o 11 points ago +11 / -0

Well send it back then! it's got a lifetime warranty. If my guns not shooting right the last thing I'm going to do is stick an extended mag in it.

3
NEVER_SOCIALIST [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's kinda my "back-burner" project. I have hopes someday itll be a reliable home defense.

8
Donker 8 points ago +8 / -0

As ugly as they are and as fun as they are to meme on, Hi-Point actually makes pretty "good" guns.

So if it's not cycling or you're having accuracy issues, call Hi-Point and use that lifetime warranty.

7
SigAR 7 points ago +7 / -0

How about the yeet cannon, got one of those!?

9
PraiseBeToScience 9 points ago +9 / -0

I love how ambitious Hi Point was with the Yeet Cannon that they actually made one with a threaded barrel, so you could screw a $1,100 suppressor to your $150 zinc gun.

4
TrumpoWon2020 4 points ago +5 / -1

Everyone has that, they're only like $200.

1
notCIA 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nah, the real one, not the placeholder trash.

1
TrumpoWon2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, the one with dollar bills on it.

5
Sleeping_giant 5 points ago +5 / -0

Id say spray n pray but if the fucker jams every other cart. Then yeah fuck that gun lol

5
Id10tech 5 points ago +5 / -0

Brother has a.40 version and it’s actually fun to shoot. It’s just heavy/bulky

4
nakedjay 4 points ago +4 / -0

I have the .40, it is fun and bulky.

2
NEVER_SOCIALIST [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I've heard some guys really like these. I just haven't had a great time with it past the first day.

3
Ched 3 points ago +3 / -0

Does it jam with the factory magazine?

2
BurgerChef90 2 points ago +3 / -1

Everyone I know who has any Hi-Point rifle has said they’ve had no issues with them.

Now Hi-Point handguns really are pieces of shit. I don’t know anyone who has one who’d say otherwise

3
DrStormfagFedglowie 3 points ago +3 / -0

I have one and it's fantastic

1
brimshae 1 point ago +1 / -0

Borrowed a C-9 once. It was clunky as all get out, made weird noises, was top heavy and less ergonomic than a brick on a string, but it fired every time.

1
notCIA 1 point ago +1 / -0

made weird noises

Ahem. What?

2
brimshae 2 points ago +2 / -0

It just clunked a lot, like the slide wasn't a tight fit for the frame. Never had any problems with it, though.

5
Fukthegov 5 points ago +5 / -0

Bullshit. Mine is accurate, reliable and I've never had any problems

4
Sansa_Belt 4 points ago +6 / -2

When guys approach me at the range with (the inevitable problem with) their Hi-Point stuff, I just shake my head as they draw near and they turn back ...hehehe.

10
ArbysBeefandCheddar 10 points ago +10 / -0

The hi-point 45 pistol a friend bought fired beautifully and was just heavy and ugly. This is the first I have heard of one jamming.

7
Geralt_of_Rivia1 7 points ago +8 / -1

The guns generally aren't bad, the magazines are.

3
brimshae 3 points ago +3 / -0

You'll notice OP has an aftermarket mag in that thing. No wonder it's giving him problems.

1
notCIA 1 point ago +1 / -0

Hi point endorses those mags, too lmao

1
brimshae 1 point ago +1 / -0

Doesn't mean it's worth a damn. I can't even tell what kind it is, anyway.

1
notCIA 1 point ago +1 / -0

Oh no, I'm pointing out that they specifically endorsed shit mags known for not working. I just don't get why they would.

1
ArbysBeefandCheddar 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's what it sounded like to me, like he had a bad magazine or something.

2
Sansa_Belt 2 points ago +2 / -0

Sometimes you find a pearl ...hehehe.

2
Nibba 2 points ago +2 / -0

3
TrumpoWon2020 3 points ago +4 / -1

You have people approach you at the range?

Lucky bastard.

4
Sansa_Belt 4 points ago +4 / -0

Hehehehe ...sorta kinda part of the general job description.

2
Nibba 2 points ago +2 / -0

...hehehe

2
TrumpoWon2020 2 points ago +3 / -1

I think maybe all my stuff is too fancy. ☹

The only time I got conversation was with my black powder revolvers.

But normally I bring my bullpups.

3
Sansa_Belt 3 points ago +3 / -0

A trip to the range is ideally a pleasure. You're gong there to train, or test a new load or component. It's leisure time or a way to shake off the world for a spell.

It should not be a trip of frustration and wasted moments. And unfortunately, some firearms provide just that. Embrace your fancy.

1
TrumpoWon2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

I build a great many myself and have many failures at the range. I've had poorly machined slides, bad triggers, I've set iron sights wrong.

Im just sad that with like $40,000 invested in the hobby no one shoots with me. I talk to my old college buddy all the time about guns but no one new...

2
Sansa_Belt 2 points ago +2 / -0

Online shooting forums can be regional. You will find a lot of local shooters there who often meet at sportman's clubs and gun ranges to shoot.

I live in the northeast ...northeastshooters.com.

1
TrumpoWon2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

I lived in the northeast up until last year, lol.

I would have shared my pews with you.

are hi-point the gun version of hi-sence? (who make shitty TV's)

3
PraiseBeToScience 3 points ago +3 / -0

Hi-Point is like the Geo of guns. Laughable products, laughable reputation, but sometimes their shit just works and people love them, but nobody is ever proud of doing so.

1
TheCandorist 1 point ago +1 / -0

Like was said but...they are made in America and they have a 100% lifetime warranty on them. Anything goes wrong just ring them up and send it back and they will get you a new one.

4
brimshae 4 points ago +4 / -0

Get rid of that shitty aftermarket mag and your problems should clear up.

I have a 15-round Promag for mine and it almost never feeds right. If I use the stock 10-rounders I can plink all day long.

3
1776ThereIsaidIt 3 points ago +3 / -0

Anything named High Point is gonna be shitty. Ask the people that live in High Point NC.

You have such strong feelings about them, & considering Americans may have a real need for self-defense tools that work, maybe you should consider "unloading" them in the figurative sense.

3
PraiseBeToScience 3 points ago +3 / -0

My favorite part about these carbines is how Hi Point cut all these skeletonizing holes in it just to look cool, but it ends up looking like those shitty fantasy guns that they'd use in GI Joe.

I have a .40 Hi-Point hand cannon. It is decently accurate, well misfire every hundredth round or so, but could fracture most bones upon impact if you struck someone with it. Literally built like a sledgehammer. I call it the Chicago addition to my collection.

2
The_Highlander 2 points ago +2 / -0

Sounds antifa certified

2
telan 2 points ago +2 / -0

Bro give it to me. I have wanted one for my collection for a while and I'll gunsmith that dang turd back into acting properly!

1
NEVER_SOCIALIST [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

What's your addy?

2
gimpchimp 2 points ago +2 / -0

Took mine out today and ran 2 50 round drums through it as fast as I could pull the trigger. Flawless -no hang-ups. The barrel was smoking though.

2
tentonbudgie 2 points ago +2 / -0

Lifetime warranty, send it back, they will fix it

2
Geralt_of_Rivia1 2 points ago +2 / -0

Generally hi points have magazine related unreliability issues - generally feed lip geometry.

You can generally fix that with sandpaper and time

1
Parabellum76 1 point ago +1 / -0

If you need sandpaper to make a new gun function, buy a different gun

1
flashersenpai 1 point ago +1 / -0

"just have more money"

0
Parabellum76 0 points ago +1 / -1

You can get a decent gun that’s very reliable for less than 200 dollars more than a HiPoint. If you can’t afford that much for something that your life may depend on then maybe your life isn’t worth that much

2
deutchjohannes 2 points ago +2 / -0

Well, OBVIOUSLY it can´t work properly with such a HILLARY (aka crooked) magazine... ;-D

2
DrumNbass 2 points ago +2 / -0

It has a lifetime warranty, just send it back to get worked on.

2
TangerineShine 2 points ago +2 / -0

My 9 carbine was dead fucking nuts at 100 yds. I’m not going to even bother looking up if this one is the same caliber but yeah we were putting FMJ’s through a telephone pole in my in-laws backyard.

You might actually be one of the first people I’ve seen who shit on the carbines.

It’s usually the pistols. Those are possibly the shittiest firearms manufactured present day. It’s like the pistol has a brick resting on the front sight.

2
TangerineShine 2 points ago +2 / -0

It’s like it wants you to drop the barrel and shoot your dick off.

1
MJPalazzolo 1 point ago +1 / -0

Consider this if you will pedes: If the tyrants can't steal the firearms or shut down the manufacturers of firearms. Then, perhaps the next best thing to do is coerce manufacturers (make them an offer they can't refuse) to produce cheaply made and dysfunctional products for public sale and use, but high quality products for the jack booted thugs, right? What better way of "disarming" the patriots.

-4
__I_dindu__nufin_ -4 points ago +1 / -5

Falls apart when we can just make our own high quality. Can't stop humans from inventing things.

1
Parabellum76 1 point ago +1 / -0

A lot of HiPoint owners talking about lifetime Warrantee, while it’s nice and all that they’ll fix their broken guns repeatedly, it doesn’t really help you much when you need it and it’s 850 miles away. Just spend and extra 200 bucks and get something halfway decent, if your gun needs to use its lifetime warrantee then you should pick a different gun.

1
Patriot210 1 point ago +1 / -0

I’ve fired a few hundred rounds through this guy with 2 different magazines, ive had to re cock it once in awhile to advance the next round and the sights needed tightening but otherwise I loved it
