There is no Trump v DeSantis. DeSantis will be passed a torch, and he'll know exactly what to do with it.

44
Thelongrun 44 points ago +44 / -0

Absolutely. Exquisitely put.🎯💯

The whole Trump v DeSantis narrative is a C.I.A-Mockingbird psyop - and we're not fucking falling for it.

When this Deep State regime falls it's gonna fall real damn hard - and we have to be the ones who guarantees it falls.

I’m only voting Trump and I assure you I’m Not cia not fbi or any government official. The GOPe is pushing desantis and that to me is a red flag. Im only voting Trump b/c I kinda don’t think it matters anymore. I think we are beyond voting to be honest.

ryry117 17 points ago +17 / -0

The GOP is not pushing DeSantis. McConnell isn't talking about him, Lindsey Graham isn't, etc.

The establishment uniparty wants to ignore DeSantis completely, and all Republican state governors that should be following his example are not.

I see the path forward purely as a Trump 2024 and De Santis 2028 thing.

Colesterol 3 points ago +3 / -0

The GOP wants Pence in there as the candidate. No, I'm not even joking.

Its way too early for them be talking about anyone. The fact that they're not talking about him doesn't mean anything.

VenusDe 0 points ago +2 / -2

Establishment is pushing DeSantis via Nation Review, The Blaze, and Chalie Kirk/TURNING POINT.

That is how they do it.

1
Xachariah 1 point ago +1 / -0

Trump recently spoke for Turning Point, not sure how it's establishment to you.

The establishment doesn't like the religious wing of the republican party and even less now that they won't let go of the 2020 steal. They aren't as MAGA as they could be, but they're far from the entrenched power too.

2SmoothGQ 9 points ago +9 / -0

Would you vote DeSantis if he won the primary? Obviously I’m voting Trump in the primary but I don’t get all the DeSantis hate

4
VenusDe 4 points ago +6 / -2

My vote in 2024 is Trump or I don't vote at all.

Period.

If DeSantis runs that right there tells you he is an establishment cuck and they aren't getting one more vote from me.

6
2SmoothGQ 6 points ago +7 / -1

Can’t roll with you on that. To each their own but DeSantis literally just sent a Soros backed prosecutor packing and even mentioned that Soros backed people are a huge problem, has been hard on groomers (and Disney but I repeat myself). Not saying voting is going to matter anyway but the best thing we can do is overwhelm the system on Election Day. I would much rather DeSantis run as Trumps VP or run after Trumps 3rd term (fuck resident Brandon). To each their own though. Can’t say I blame you the GOP is a fucking mess and just another wing of the Democrat party at this point.

DeSantis is all in with TRUMP AND MAGA...

That is his FREE RIDE TO THE WHITE HOUSE...

IF HE PISSES OFF MAGA - HIS CHANCES END THEN AND THERE - and he knows that.

11
SteveBannonsNckbeard 11 points ago +12 / -1

He does, but I think (more importantly) his heart is in it.

15
Shadilady 15 points ago +15 / -0

The establishment is trying so hard to make DeSantis 2024 a thing. If Ron times it right, let's them get all breathless about it, and then publicly shits all over that notion, he will get my vote in 2028. If he doesn't take the flattery bait, along with his work already, he will have proven himself enough to me.

He should not be President in 2024. That’s the GOPe plan to split the vote. We need our leaders to coalesce around goals and not fight each other for aspiration and pride.

14
ultra-tera-maga 14 points ago +14 / -0

MAGA Governor's will save this Nation.

14
RStroud 14 points ago +14 / -0

A coalition of strong independent Governors is far more important than the presidency, imo. Reforming DC and the administrative state is a lost cause. States must asset their constitutional powers or become irrelevant.

If Lake and Mastriano get in we have 3 plus Noem (on the fence with her, MAGA light)

9
Snake 9 points ago +9 / -0

My two concerns about DeSantis:

  1. Trump is beyond clean. I don't know what they'll come after DeSantis with, but I'm sure they've been saving their real guns against him in case he does run for president. Perhaps that's why he's been so effective as governor because they are saving attacks for later.

  2. I've been burned too many times before with politicians that do good things until they don't. As far as I can see Trump has never stopped fighting for us, so I'm hesitant to roll the dice on someone new when our movement is so strong.

5
NonyaDB 5 points ago +5 / -0

Correct.
Trump needs to get back in the White House ASAP to enact "Operation Vengeance" and metaphorically destroy the entrenched D.C. snake by moving all HQs out of D.C. and into the heartland.
Such as moving FBI HQs from D.C. to Hays, Kansas. Look it up on a map.
There's just enough there to make them functional while still being located far enough away from "amenities" to make no one want to spend their entire career there.
And that's how you permanently destroy the swamp. Folks get in, work a few years, and then leave on their own for somewhere else.
And hey, if I can spend 5 years in a shack in the Iraqi desert then those assholes can spend a few years living in a nice apartment or rented house in Hays, Kansas.
Once Operation Vengeance is complete after his 4 -year term, then DeSantis can run for President fully backed by President Trump and continue his model of American success.

1
TakingBackCA 1 point ago +1 / -0

Correct. Trump is the destroyer; DeSantis the builder.

Trump’s base is calling for a Fourth Turning-style, no-mercy slaughter. He needs to deliver on crushing everyone, firing everyone, pursuing everyone. None can hide. None can be paid off.

It needs to be Biblical retribution.

4
Dice_Runner 4 points ago +4 / -0

Anyone who said other wise is a rino or left as far as I am concern.

3
shadypollster 3 points ago +6 / -3

That's the truth. It is a ploy to make pro Trump/DeSantis people schism.

26
Formerlurker92 26 points ago +26 / -0

I'd rather keep him as governor than as, realistically, a useless figurehead

11
ceremony_ 11 points ago +11 / -0

You're so absolutely right on this.

I've stated this before numerous times as well.

What Governor DeSantis has demonstrated is nothing less than the constitutional independence of States.

As he continues to do what is in Florida's best interests, to hell with federal mandates or "mainstream consensus", he's putting all the other governors and states to shame.

For every action he takes within Florida to decapitate the Left, the rest of us wish that we too had a governor like DeSantis.

And I attribute Kari Lake's success to DeSantis. Arizona saw what could be achieved with a strong, based governor, and wanted the same.

I honestly wish DeSantis would never set a foot inside the cesspool that is D.C.

The United States is a republic composed of States. I wish DeSantis would spend the next two decades "showing" everybody else how it's done - without even giving a damn about the Capitol or White House.

5
Pepper2 5 points ago +5 / -0

I agree with this. I'd rather have 26 great governors than an excellent president

1
Formerlurker92 1 point ago +1 / -0

Absolutely. And anyone that says otherwise isn't thinking clearly

3
Liberty4All 3 points ago +3 / -0

Due to term limits, Governor DeSantis will be looking for a new job in 2026. And I for one will be very sorry to see him go. I hope he spends some time looking for a good successor that he can endorse who will carry on his successes.

It seems that a lot of retiring Florida governors run for U.S. Senator. Some succeed (such as Bob Graham and Rick Scott) and others fail (Charlie Crist).

Or beginning in 2026, Governor DeSantis will have 2 years campaigning for the 2028 Presidency.

2
ceremony_ 2 points ago +2 / -0

Presidency is one thing.

Frankly, we could use DeSantis to "clean up" the neighboring state of Georgia, or Texas.

You ever heard of that saying "you get promoted to your maximum level of incompetence"?

It means that if somebody is good at something, they keep getting promoted out of what they are doing until they become mediocre/lukewarm (look at the military).

DeSantis as President could kind of be like that - why waste a 100% A+ rockstar governor who could make a huge difference for the rest of his life.

I would bet my left nut that DeSantis could walk into Georgia or Texas in 2026 and win immediately.

2
Letfreedom_zing 2 points ago +2 / -0

Could you see Gaetz taking a chance at filling in for DeSantis?

1
ceremony_ 1 point ago +1 / -0

Unfortunately, I sort of see Gaetz as somewhat more of a "Hollywood" politician.

He definitely loves to get a lot of publicity with his remarks and comments.

But being a strong executive is completely different from being a guy whose only job is to cast a vote every now and then.

So unfortunately, no I don't see Gaetz as a serious contender for anything.

Actually, pretty much anyone in the legislature.

I'm not entirely saying DeSantis shouldn't run - what I'm saying is that we need a "deeper bench" of strong governors.

A deep bench of strong governors translates very well into a deep bench of strong Presidential contenders.

Let's see how the next couple of years fares, especially 2022.

You know, I keep expecting him to do the usual republican backstab or some sort of scummy betrayal like every politician, but he keeps surprising me

-1
VenusDe -1 points ago +4 / -5

This is the backstab, wake up. Trump got 70% in the CPAC straw poll as the choice for the 2024 nominee. DeSantis was a distant second in the 20s. He's trying to broaden his name recognition with this stunt -- and its a stunt. Why the fuck would the governor of Florida be flying to AZ and PA in the middle of his own re-election?

DeSantis for President with Trump as speaker of the house.

1
Julius_Severus2 1 point ago +2 / -1

This is actually a very good idea, if Trump's ego would allow it

Trump would be better at whipping republican congressmen into shape, whereas DeSantis might be better with some of the administrative/legal stuff
