Tesla Model 3 = $36,000 not $80,000

36k would be nice. 48 to start before whatever the savings are from their site. Long range unavailable; 63k for the performance model.

Don't forget the price of converting your home to the system needed to charge your car, which is easily 10k at least.

Test your employer's commitment to ESG. Charge the Tesla at work.

7
magaspif 7 points ago +7 / -0

At $3.50/gal est. That $80k would get you almost 1/2 million miles in a vehicle that gets 20miles/gal.

These cars don’t produce electricity they are battery powered.

2
Need4Pede 2 points ago +2 / -0

Can this guy even do math? I bought a used car several years ago for $20K. Even at $5 gallon getting 20mpg at 10k miles a year it would take me 24 years to break even and that's if electric was free. Which it isn't, so probably 30 minimum years to even break even. What a cock gobbler. My batteries would probably die by then requiring a $25k battery replacement or brand new $80K car.

Sound reasoning to me - Libs just doing what Bog Gov Says - they wont figure it all out till year 25 or 30 - I suspect ... Keep laughing at these Dorks and watch your behind around Petey

2
Constitutionalist_73 2 points ago +2 / -0

Bog, heh. Btw, that fag probably takes being call a cock gobbler as a compliment.

2
vongregormench 2 points ago +2 / -0

It’s still cheaper to pay for gas in your car that you presently own unless it gets 5mpg.

2
Zadok 2 points ago +2 / -0

Cut out the middle man and get your car converted to compressed natural gas. CNG

This guy had two 'qualifications' for secretary of transportation:

  1. Failed one term mayor of a failed city of 100,000.

  2. Fag.

This moron doesn't have the skill or brains to be a McDs assistant manager, and he's the fucking transportation secretary.

Then they raise the price for electricity

preferredfault 1 point ago +1 / -0

Fun fact: A gallon of gas contains 33Kwh of energy, and weighs 6 pounds. An electric car battery stores 33Kwh of energy, weighs 1,000 pounds, and the electricity required to fill it up costs at least $5 now.

If we say an electric vehicle gets 250 miles on a charge, that does make it more efficient than gas, BUT if we used gasoline as the fuel to generate electricity instead of a battery, at $2.50 a gallon, what it was when Trump was in office, it would be TWICE as efficient as a battery powered EV, and even more considering the car would be at least 25% lighter. So we're talking 500+ miles on a single gallon.

Even if we still used batteries, but made gas generate the electricity to be stored in the battery, it would still cost half as much as pumping power from an outlet.

Now you know the truth. They could have massively reduced the usage of gas by pushing gas to electric vehicles, while keeping gas cheap. None of this is about the future or efficiency. It's about money, power, and oppression.

They want to destroy gas as a fuel and make it ultra expensive so that it can never be cheaper than electric, ever.....even if people in the future try to move to gas-to-electric. They knew they had to inflate the price of gas in order to force people to be dependent on electrical outlets.

EV Car manufacturers (KIA for sure) have now started changing $8K over invoice for EV cars . Sounds like a Grfit to me . I will galdly pay $1o gallon just because !!! Buck Fiden
