Imagine if this is related to the Clinton-Russia operation or election fraud. Retrieving declassified documents that could or should be considered evidence against those who retrieved them.

Is that treason or sedition? Well, what is the connection between a foreign state and those documents? A foreign state can be an "ally".

28
War_Hamster 28 points ago +29 / -1

Bongino speculated that the docs they were looking for were SpyGate docs.

When the R's start House investigations, they won't release the evidence of FBI/DOJ malfeasance by claiming it's part of an ongoing investigation.

The whole raid was to cover up their own crimes from 2015-2020.

12
I_Love_45-70_Gov 12 points ago +12 / -0

^This

"Ongoing Investigations" excuse has been their go to bullshit answer for years.

It has to end.

6
War_Hamster 6 points ago +6 / -0

Bongino today is opining that they found absolutely nothing.

4
Here_we_go 4 points ago +4 / -0

Tell bongino it wasnt to find what trump has, its what they put into the mix that he now has. Wink wink

5
War_Hamster 5 points ago +5 / -0

I think they'd have revealed this "bombshell" if that's what they had done.

Besides, those boxes were all cataloged months before so an insertion would be obvious.

I originally thought something similar too.

5
Here_we_go 5 points ago +5 / -0

When they are looking for papers, that means they can go everywhere in mal. Papers could be in melanias wardrobe. It could be in Trumps private bathroom.

We dont know everything they took. Every item has not been cataloged yet. Right now they are debating on what to "find".

Just remember, his passports weren't in the boxes. They took more than the white house documents they went through previously.

2
OGpsywar 2 points ago +2 / -0

I think they'd have revealed this "bombshell"

.. instead of floating endless different trial-balloons about 'their reasons' and trying to walk-back even calling it a Raid. 😆

I keep getting the impression that Garland isn't what a bright person would call 'normal', or what a normal person would call 'bright'.

8
MexicanBeerFlu 8 points ago +8 / -0

I am very certain that they used the article claiming that Trump was flushing documents as justification for the immediate raid. As if the man doesn't have a fucking paper shredder. I saw that article and knew it was as fake and gay as the piss dossier, that only someone who wanted to believe could believe it.

1
ProphetOfKek 1 point ago +1 / -0

If you really want to destroy documents, a lighter is far better.

1
Feral_Frog_Warrior 1 point ago +1 / -0

Same here. One day the lock-step agreement among “the experts” in the msm about how brilliant Barak was as he delivered a DNC convention speech just prompted me to start thinking for myself. These guys sounded like brainwashed morons, propping up someone who, to me, seemed profoundly mediocre.

Trump came along 10 years later to announce his candidacy and the establishment saw their biggest threat ever. They couldn’t help exposing themselves as Uniparty slaves to corporate interests, ambition and good old fashioned greed.

PM_ME_UR_VIVOZ 22 points ago +22 / -0

You can only have a trial if there's a system of justice that is, in fact, equal. There is not one, and therefore, no trial will ever happen. This doesn't preclude the latter, though.

MarchHare762 0 points ago +1 / -1

Used against communists/tyrants, when people have finally had enough and decide to fix things…I’m fine with it. And as soon as every commie is minus a pulse or has fled to Europe, then we can worry about ‘muh legal process’.

The enemy has no qualms about doing whatever it takes to win. They don’t follow rules, they only weaponize them. This isn’t some high school student govt election we’re talking about, it’s a matter of survival. We win, or we accept slavery. Rules and processes don’t have a place when fighting an enemy who desires only your enslavement or extermination.

-1
Hunters10incher -1 points ago +1 / -2

Then where do you stop? Who decides who's the "tyrant"? The guy holding the gun. Which could be them. You're proposing the very thing we and Trump are constantly railing against. Might makes right, but there's always a bigger fish. We need systems. We need to make them work.

1
MarchHare762 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's for someone else to worry about after the work is done. I don't have the patience for legalese bullshit. If I'd been around during the Revolution, after the business of killing Brits and loyalists was over I'd go back to smithing, or shipping, or pretty much anything that didn't involve listening to chuckleheads bloviate about the position of a comma in a sentence, or how plain language that says the govt can't do something ACTUALLY means that they have to have an interest in doing the thing that they're prohibited from doing.

-2
Hunters10incher -2 points ago +1 / -3

So basically vigilante street killings by people not familiar with laws? Totally American and not at all like the Taliban. There comes a point where you're seeking to change our country into something it wasn't meant to be. And honestly at that point just get the fuck out. Like why even have a constitution if we're just gonna declare anything we don't like as treason. People need to pick up a fucking book.

1
MarchHare762 1 point ago +1 / -0

Communists do not deserve any of the protections and rights that the Constitution is supposed to guarantee, nor do they qualify for civil rights or human rights. They are vermin, and if captured should be given nothing but a cancellation of their birth certificate. If someone wants to go to the trouble of putting on a show trial, whatever. I don’t. I also acknowledge that the only crime in war is losing. Winners write laws and history, losers feed the worms.

0
Hunters10incher 0 points ago +1 / -1

That's a nice opinion you've got there. It'd be a shame if someone came along and...took it away.

It was all about getting the headline "Trump Home Raided" in the news. Mission accomplished. With the media's help, they felt they could clean up any blowback. These are hollow-eyed old hippies still playing with rules from 40 years ago. That's why they hate Social Media and the Internet.

Back in the day, all they needed was the big three ABC, NBC and CBS to broadcast that headline on the evening news and mission accomplished.

While the Justice Department did not oppose the release of the search warrant last week, the department argued Monday in a court filing to the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Florida that the affidavit should remain sealed "to protect the integrity of an ongoing law enforcement investigation that implicates national security."

Here we go again…Muh sources and method bs.

1

It's extremely common for such affidavits not to be released until after the investigation to avoid outing informants.

3
TheNewRepublic 3 points ago +3 / -0

The affidavit also contains the probable cause..they can redact the informants name. Either way you must be new here because we’ve seen this all this bs before, this tells me they’re still spying on Trump.

1
just-a-normal-dude 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's more so propaganda, they purposefully worded it the way they did to imply that Trump is some kind of national security threat. Idiots will hear the justification and assume it's true. It has nothing to do with hiding anything.

14
Red_Pill_Pharmacist 14 points ago +15 / -1

The story keeps changing.

Proof they are lying.

If the FBI were investigating you, and your story kept changing, they'd hold it against you in the court of law.

When the FBI lies, and their story keeps changing, we need to hold it against them in the court of law and arrest them and execute them for treason.

7

It's about putting pressure on other informants? Which other informants?

-1
comlib -1 points ago +1 / -2

That's exactly the point, they don't want anyone to know who is doing the informing until the investigation goes to the next stage.

DOJ Admits FBI Over-Collected Trump Docs, Will Give Back Passports and Privileged Docs in the 'Next Two Weeks'

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/victoria-taft/2022/08/16/doj-admits-fbi-over-collected-trump-docs-will-give-back-passports-and-privileged-docs-in-the-next-two-weeks-n1621374

Two weeks?? That's interesting, because it only took the FBI 8 days to go through 650,000 of Hillary's missing emails that they found on Anthony Weiner's laptop.

-1
comlib -1 points ago +1 / -2

Investigations like this routinely take more evidence than they planned to because they're not sure what they're going to need. The fact that they gave his passports back just tells me that they grabbed everything and they're sorting it out now.

1
mass55th 1 point ago +1 / -0

Garland has requested that the affidavit pertaining to the search warrant, not be released because he says it would provide “Information about witnesses...and the risk that the revelation of witness identities would impact their willingness to cooperate with the investigation.”

If the FBI had testimony from witnesses, then it's apparent the DOJ used this testimony to hone in on specific documents, and possibly received information where they were located. Of course it's likely that these so-called "witnesses" provided only hearsay testimony, another reason the DOJ doesn't want the affidavit released.

The fact that the FBI confiscated Trump's passports, and private legal documents that are covered under attorney-client privilege, only shows that this was a fishing expedition. The warrant does not mention either of those categories, therefore, the FBI overstepped the scope of the warrant as it is written. Last thing I read, the DOJ said it will take two weeks for them to return the items wrongly confiscated. The FBI was at Trump's home for 9 hours. It's been over a week now since they searched his home. Those items should have already been returned to him. It shouldn't take two weeks.

1
FreedomFromGovt 1 point ago +1 / -0

What you're describing is called a 'Writ of Assistance', an open-ended search warrant allowing officials to go on fishing expeditions in search of 'illegal activity'.

Those instruments violated every Englishman's right to be presumed innocent, and to be free of unlawful search and seizure without probable cause. They were literally warrants in search of a crime.

Those writs were listed as a prime factor of American grievances against the crown. They led to a revolutionary war, and their principles became enshrined in the Bill of Rights.

2
comlib 2 points ago +2 / -0

Sure, I'm just pointing out that this still goes on and all the noise about the passports being taken was massively blown out of proportion. I said they probably just got swept up with other stuff and I was right.
