It's just now "raising alarm bells"? You haven't been able to see where Microsoft/Amazon/Google/Facebook end and the government begins for at least a decade.
You'd have to put everything (phone, computer, anything you use connected to the Internet) behind a VPN to even make it hard on them.
They would never publicly admit it, but I would assume the CIA (and, thus, the FBI) have cracked many of the common ciphers used in security today (including commercially available VPN services). However, they likely lack the processing power to crack everyone's stuff in real-time, so unless they're already on to you, putting everything behind a VPN would make it far less likely that they'd be tracking you. They are likely hoovering up everything though, so if you did something to get on their radar, the chances they'd be able to go back and see what you've done would certainly increase (but it would still be harder if you used a VPN since they wouldn't know exactly where to look for your stuff in their encrypted pile of data).
The smart & based people I know in tech all agree with you. Voice recognition makes keyword searching very easy and once "a person of interest" is identified (by doing something like posting or even lurking on PDW), it's automatic for more surveillance / censorship / tracking resources to be assigned by the algorithms.
That was the assumption I resigned myself too as well - especially after everything Edward Snowden said about the NSA years ago.
But now I wonder if that was a demoralization psyop to make people less likely to use VPN.
And things being made into movies or shows always makes me do a double-take about the narrative being pushed into mainstream view. Another example would be Titanic - what a shit, overrated movie. The forced mainstream recognition of it makes it really hard for me to question the conspiracy theories around it (JP Morgan, etc.). So yeah, I would like to think Snowden is a man of the people. But the simple existence of a movie that says he is a man of the people makes me think he is either an asset of an agency that dislikes something about the NSA. Or, regardless of which agency he is actually loyal to, he is simply the face of a psyop designed to make people resigned to the idea that the gov will see everything regardless of what steps you take (VPN)
Realistically, what would it take to get them onto you? If I go around saying "fuck Joe Biden" online, they could look at me for 10 seconds and see my search history and see I'm not a threat.
Not that I want Feds tracking me, but I don't think they're gonna go around and raid you just for what you say online. At least I don't think we're at that stage yet. I don't believe there's really any need to worry unless you really are doing something that would get you arrested.
If someone put a bug in your living room, tapped you phone, etc., are you going to say NO Worries! They are altruistic and I’ll be fine?
Given our rights, if you don’t break any laws they can’t do too much to you right now, but wait 10 years and they will still have the “evidence” to label you a wizard and cast you into a River.
One must remember that lopsided governments don't play well with dissidents. Despite the attraction to the "I haven't done anything wrong and have nothing to hide" thought process, this abuse doesn't bode well for anyone; no drama necessary.
If I go around saying "fuck Joe Biden" online, they could look at me for 10 seconds and see my search history and see I'm not a threat.
Go listen to Biden's Red Doom speech. His handlers were sending a message and all of MAGA should pay attention. Not to be afraid, but to be aware.
Anyone going around saying FJB online is obviously a threat, but threats have many levels and right now, you're considered a low level threat which means you get tracked by the Big Tech / Fedboy combo.
If you post to large groups on Farcebook or Twatter, there's no question your reach is limited and your interactions monitored. Of course, not by humans. That's the job of low level AI systems, aka targeted algorithms.
Even with the cracked stuff it can be hard to crack massive amounts of it in real time. It just takes so much processing that you can't keep up with it.
Only way to really handle it is an AI organizing it or really narrowing down on someone.
Phones, especially, have unique identifiers, no matter what you do that identifier is sent along with packets sent from your phone. With most phones, now days, you can turn everything off, and roam around in airplane mode, and they will still scan for local WiFi networks (which is recorded for tracking purposes at most large businesses), checks GPS, records your speech and the speech around you, this information is retained for later transmission once you are back on a network, it doesn't matter if this network is VPNed or not, the only thing a vpn does for you is hide your real IP address, and if you use the DNS server provided by your VPN provider, hides the DNS of the sites you are visiting. Your phone is a spy device, and it spies on you constantly.
Chertoff, evil bastard that he is, was bragging about this in like 2006. He said they'll just have the private sector spy on the American people and they'll buy it from the companies to get around people's civil rights.
Now, how the fuck can you author something "Patriot" if you're such a half-assed citizen you want to hold on to your citizenship elsewhere? Should be an immediate disqualification from voting and serving in office.
Yes, although if you use some schmuck VPS like AWS or some shit, expect it to get busted open like no tomorrow. There have been some limited cases with server providers protecting privacy (OVH most infamously defended Wikileaks in court and won), but it is best to build and own the server you set up.
Longer than that. I would go all the way back to the late 1950s when "immigration law reform" talk started, which culminated in Hart-Cellar Immigration Reform Act of 1965. Or maybe having senators elected by popular vote rather than by state legislatures. Or the federal reserve and income tax. Hell, maybe the Whiskey Rebellion is the true beginning. :-(
It's horrifying how normalized this type of bullshit has become. When the Patriot Act was introduced people were shocked at the idea of the government performing ANY domestic surveillance even with all the propaganda about Islamic terrorism and its necessity, to the point where it was a mainstream debate. Now it's assumed, accepted, and has continued a monstrous roll forward ever since. Fucking disgusting. The weaponization of Western governments and intelligence agencies against their own people is quite possibly the most terrifying thing going on in the world right now.
Guys, I had a thought the other day I can't stop thinking about. What if we just went archaic tech wise on these bastards? That's how we could beat them. Then soon, before you know it, people are meeting with each other instead of sitting on their phones in front of their tv all the time. Plus the gov isn't equipped to deal with us in that manner.
Now, I know its a pipe dream. We aren't going to make 90 million people stop using their phones and social media tomorrow. But that's the trap. They know that. Uncle Ted was right. Man, he was a weird bastard but he sure was right.
I'm at the point where I think this is genuinely a good idea. Everybody just go back to 1988 technology. Landlines, CB Radios, Bulletin Board System, fucking meeting people in person. We become like some sort of weird amish. I just want to be free. By using the establishment's tech, in a lot of ways I find that we are being subservient to them. It gives them too much control.
“The philosopher Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king. Said Aristippus, 'If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.'
Said Diogenes, 'Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king".”
I don't think we have a choice in the matter. That other story -- about the government outsourcing censorship -- really drives it home. The Internet is not a productive asset going forward. The feds have way too much control over how we use it. The only way forward is to go out and talk to your neighbor.
........EFF recently obtained a trove of records through Freedom of Information Act requests on local and state police departments, as well as federal entities, purchasing a cellphone tracking tool that can monitor people's movements going back months in time.
The tool, Fog Reveal, is a product of the company Fog Data Science, which claims it has "billions" of data points about "over 250 million" devices that can be used to learn where people work, live, and associate.
And woketard Potato boosters luv this surveillance state shyt... 🧐
Isn't it amazing how many things we've been consistent on over the decades as our political parties and philosophies have evolved and how many things leftists have become hypocrites on?
Funny, some companies they don't need to buy the data. There are a wink and nod back door agreements allowed for direct access into systems. I know for sure AT&T does.
There is a trade off. They give access for business deal approvals and other crap. When I worked at AT&T years ago we knew the systems were monitored on a basic level. They find the info needed, then come with a very specific warrant. Now all these years later I'm sure the sophistication level and monitoring ability is way more advanced.
I'm convinced this site's sole purpose for existence is a calculated demoralization campaign of the last remaining American patriots for maximum attrition in some sort of weird Stockholm syndrome competition.
Change my mind.
.. and if ANYONE here knows ANYTHING about DNS/Domains/networking ...
I don't know about the tech stuff you linked but the energy definitely changed from T_D to P.W. TD everyone was trying to be funny and have fun, here everyone is angry and mean (including me).
With regards to A records, these are managed by Cloudflare. You should see similar behavior with any other site on Cloudflare's network, including Truth Social and Gab.
The NS records haven't changed in a long time. We did not own the domain prior to the first time that the domain's nameservers pointed towards Cloudflare.
This can be proven by looking at the domain's registration date: 2020-01-14. The nameservers prior to this date were not us. The domain must have been owned by someone else before, and then expired before being purchased by us.
Likewise with the SOA data, "YISU CLOUD LTD" and the ASN, those predate our ownership of that domain.
ICANN information is most often redacted. It's standard practice for domains under Epik's registrar (including Gab).
See, under a real judge, this would still be a violation of the 4th and cannot be used by government institutions in warrants or prosecutions. But, good luck finding a real judge.
Not too long ago you could easily (still can) leave your cell phone at home. Time to start doing that again, or just keep it in a RF blocking bag while you are out.
FUCK THEM. I don't own a cell phone and never will, Why pay for something that takes away your privacy and they can gather any information on you cause it goes into the open air waves where all can see or have access to. Stop paying to be spied on, this could all end by giving up the cell phones
The feds are preoccupied looking at cheese pizza. I'm sure they enjoying the special Mexican flavored cheese pizza they getting daily. Freaking sick bastards

It's just now "raising alarm bells"? You haven't been able to see where Microsoft/Amazon/Google/Facebook end and the government begins for at least a decade.
Does using a VPN keep someone from being tracked by the CIA / FBI?

I've been working under the assumption that AI takes care of the processing challenge.
Basically, I assume everything I say, type, or text is known.
The smart & based people I know in tech all agree with you. Voice recognition makes keyword searching very easy and once "a person of interest" is identified (by doing something like posting or even lurking on PDW), it's automatic for more surveillance / censorship / tracking resources to be assigned by the algorithms.
I hate that you agree with me on this subject.
I hate that we agree on many subjects!!
Let go of your anti-hamster bigotry and join the Federalism movement my wise friend.
That's why it's best to always operate with a VPN at minimum.
That's a good way to think about it. ;)
That was the assumption I resigned myself too as well - especially after everything Edward Snowden said about the NSA years ago.
But now I wonder if that was a demoralization psyop to make people less likely to use VPN.

You have a well developed sense of skepticism.
I very much approve.
Realistically, what would it take to get them onto you? If I go around saying "fuck Joe Biden" online, they could look at me for 10 seconds and see my search history and see I'm not a threat.

Have you gone to a PTA meetings? Then you're a domestic terrorist.
Gotten all your jabs? Also for your babies? Otherwise, emergency powers say you are in the wrong.
Have you voted Republican? ThReAt to DeMocraCy!
Did you tell an off color joke 20 years ago? Did you question Black Lives Matter?
Shall we continue?
If you haven't seen the pattern yet for those who "have nothing to hide," I'm afraid you'll never see it.
I'd guess terrorism or "insurrection" type stuff would be what it takes to make them interested in you.
Don’t count on anything being safe to say. Let’s face it - the FBI has gone full rogue and EVERYTHING is on the table.
Even with the cracked stuff it can be hard to crack massive amounts of it in real time. It just takes so much processing that you can't keep up with it.
Only way to really handle it is an AI organizing it or really narrowing down on someone.
They wrote or write the cyphers
I thought it was illegal to use any encryption that the gooberment couldn’t already crack?
Nope.

No.

Get involved with a church, Republican Party group or chapter. Build those groups you speak of
Ham radio perhaps?
Yeah I forgot all kinds of stuff. That being the big one!!!! Definitely ham radio.
Wise was that philosopher Diogenes
Yes he was. The lentils made him fart so much none of the kings men wanted to go near him.
Data burst over HAM? So we all get a HAM licence and build a HAM network and BBS?

It’s Marxism.

Watch the movie, The lives of Others. Excellent piece about the Stasi
