On top of Indiana Jones dying in Indiana Jones 5 leaks... dude gets killed in the past and is replaced by a woman.

I shit you not.

No one wants that fucking shit. No one wants any of their shit.

And no matter how many reshoots and changes they have been making the test audiences fucking hate it. They were god damned insane to make the movie this way. They were clearly obsessed with working with Phoebe Waller-Bridge... from Fleebag... which I have never seen... after working with her on Solo. She was the vomit inducing sassy Woke robot.

They wanted MORE Woke ideology and decided Indy 5 was the one to do it with.

They should just cancel the movie and never release it. Why bother spending the marketing budget which is usually the same amount as the films budget itself.

They have clearly made the worst one yet. And Crystal Skull has grown on me a bit over the years despite its flaws.

Spielberg NEVER would have made this story. Maybe that is why he wasn't involved. Kennedy wanted this bullshit as a requirement and he noped out.

And they have a Disney plus series planned with Walker-Bridge. That's why they need this movie to work so bad.

Remember Blackrock is the one pushing Disney to do this woke BS

It isn't about making money any more. That's what we've got to understand.

It's about destroying western popular culture.

It's about destroying our cultural heroes. Like Indy. Like all the Marvel superheroes. Like James Bond. LIke, gods help us, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo and Princess Leia.

They want to be able to say, "See, you morons? You thought they were heroes but they are just as bad as anybody else so stop looking up to them. There are no heroes. Whether real or fictional, they're all losers in the end so stop expecting them. THERE ARE NO HEROES AND WE JUST PROVED IT TO YOU HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"

That's why they so hysterically tear down real-life heroes like Trump and Flynn, to name just a couple. Even Melania, a gracious and beautiful First Lady, is utterly ignored in favor of a transgender freak like Michael LaVon Robinson.

It's not about money any longer. It's about the culture war and so far they're winning.

WEW LAD

> That's a face for radio!

I've seen people say narcissists who are too ugly for Hollywood get into politics to satisfy their cravings for attention and wealth. This is one of the reasons we are seeing so much indoctrination pushing "fat acceptance" and "diversity." TV shows/movies/commercials are now full of the ugliest/fattest/gayest people they can find, generally "behaving" in the opposite manner those people do in real life.

> In the real world, 50%+ of all abortions are committed by black women. In "entertainment" and advertising, they are portrayed as doting mothers.

> In the real world, 52% of Black men have never been married, only 33% of Black men are currently married. They have higher-than-average rates of incarceration, lower-than-average rates of achieving college degrees. In "entertainment" and advertising, they are portrayed as white-collar executives and family men playing with their children.

> In the real world, overweight people tend to be sedentary and not athletic (football players aside.) In "entertainment" and advertising they are portrayed as athletic and active, doing all manner of challenging physical tasks rarely seen in real life.

etc etc

Unless it's uncredited, that overhyped screenwriter isn't listed as one of the writers. The writers who adapted Edge of Tomorrow are credited with the script. Which is actually somewhat encouraging but they only adapted that movie from an original source. Spielberg is still executive producer so he didnt nope out completely either.

Oh I just realized she's a character in the movie itself. So yeah. She's all over this and is supposedly going to be the new replacement for Harrison Ford when he retires the character. Hollywood is really overhyping how much people care about her. Sorry I don't see this person being anywhere close to a huge draw as a leading action star in a future Indiana Jones reboot.

Heck I'll even toss Salvation in there. Nowhere near as groundbreaking as T1 and T2, but it was a fun action movie that didn't try and retcon the whole franchise.

I'm certainly in the minority, but I thought T3 was pretty good.

I wish Edward Furlong could have put his personal issues aside, because that movie needed him and Nikki Cox from T2.

Most of all, it needed James Cameron.

It was an important film, because it allowed judgment day to happen and opened up an unlimited number of story ideas.

Unfortunately, Hollywood is as imaginatively bankrupt as they are morally bankrupt.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– rebuildingMyself 2 points 84 days ago +2 / -0

T3 was alright because it at least respected the lore (to a relatively believable degree). It did have a shocking end at least which helped with the next movie:

I liked Salvation because it at least tried something different beyond "Arnold robot fighting bad guy robot in modern urban setting". It didn't take the story where I wanted (just a nice bowtie that ends with Kyle going back in time to protect Sarah), but it was a decent expansion of the lore.

Anything after that is pure woke garbage with no heart/soul in it whatsoever.

I think the Yellowstone show is a perfect example. Conservatives where begging for some form of entertainment and they got Yellowstone, and it's not even that good, but the amount of merchandise I've seen is fucking crazy, special edition boots, jewelry, jackets, shot glasses, whiskey, whatever, but it's not cheap stuff, I see it everywhere and people are buying it. Instead the left chooses to sell a few streaming subscriptions and a cheap kids toy at Christmas.

This is true. The parks routinely fill up, even though now you have to buy a ticket AND make a reservation before they'll let you in.

The movie/tv department might not be doing as well, but the parks are full almost every day. The special-ticket Christmas party events sell out almost instantly.

▲ 3 ▼
– jimbad05 3 points 84 days ago +4 / -1

#1 - Theme parks aren't that profitable. Entertainment is where the money is at, and that's drying up.

#2 - Disney theme parks are going to shit also. They're exorbitantly expensive and they're falling apart. Couple that with an economy in decline and they'll fail soon too.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 3 ▼
– DonaldismyNigga 3 points 84 days ago +4 / -1

The park’s upkeep is not doing too great either. I went early this year and the rides constantly broke down, cast members were rude and had resting bitch faces, and many events were canceled or removed. The parks in Tokyo are the only ones worth visiting, at least they care about presentation and are owned by OLC instead of Disney.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 3 ▼
– FireannDireach 3 points 84 days ago +3 / -0

Disney historically has made most of their profits from the theme parks, what are you even talking about? They made something like 17% profits from movies and tv shows. Their bread and butter is the resort/parks, and their networks like ESPN.

What is hurting Disney is Universal is kicking their ass. The Harry Potter stuff alone is making Universal money hand over fist, and overall their park has more to do, and better rides. Disney had a brain drain from Imagineering, the division that designs the parks and rides, to companies like Universal. Also, Chapek was in charge of the parks before he got the top slot, because the parks are so much of their income. (And was behind the soft disaster that was Galaxies Edge, where he focused more on gift shops than rides.)

They made movie with the pitch 'Yeah the superhero you actually liked is dead now but here is his cousin'.

Utterly insane.

Like if Robert Pattinson dies next week before making the next Batman movie... so they just make the whole serious about Batgirl or something... instead of just fucking recasting.

And even more ridiculous is that Marvel has recast a number of times now.
