Trump isn't back on Twitter because Elon and Trump are negotiating behind the scenes.

Nobody needs Fridman to be an arbiter of where President Trump belongs or not!

(I am adding to this comment from my response to Taco_of_Kiev below, who makes a very good point:

Trump knows that his reach on Twitter is far, far greater. And Elon knows that.

Elon knows that Trump on Twitter will draw tremendous traffic. And Trump knows that.

Lex wants a long forum 3ish hour conversation with him, which honestly I don’t think exists. May help or hurt trump. Lex wouldn’t be out to get him either like every other jurno.

46
BeNotAfraid 46 points ago +51 / -5

I think the fact that he said Trump -- not President Trump or Mr Trump -- says it all.

I am Norwegian.

-1
cciv -1 points ago +8 / -9

That's his style. It's not disrespectful, he just tries to bring his guests down to earth.

18
BytheDozen31 18 points ago +22 / -4

Down to earth, Lex should bring his own huge ego down to earth, his haughty Leo sign of arrogance as if he knew better, and asking for a large amount of time to question the Real POTUS...

3
BasedOligarch 3 points ago +4 / -1

Exactly. If this conversation did happen, it would PRECISELY the way GEOTUS commanded it. Lex would have no power to direct the interview. Fridman's overestimation of his limited abilities is laughable.

-2

3
WeirdScience 3 points ago +3 / -0

Everyone has one, he is not indifferent to having one either. It's apparent in some of his "interviews". His "image" supersedes his humble beliefs a lot of the time.

Underrated comment. Sometimes we're all a little casual with names, but this obviously wasn't a serious invitation.

15
ceremony_ 15 points ago +23 / -8

I wouldn't do it if I were him.

Trump doesn't have a filter, it can only do damage.

Everybody already knows what he's about, and what his opinions are.

No need to drag this out as if he's some unknown candidate running for the first time.

22
NotJudging 22 points ago +23 / -1

I actually think you are wrong here. Almost all leftists have no idea who Trump is. They only know the caricature that the media says he is. And since most of them live in complete siloed "safe spaces" they've never heard where he's really coming from.

7
CmonPeopleGetReal 7 points ago +9 / -2

I agree, how the fuck you gonna be pro Trump with that level of distrust. Lex isn't a guy that tries to pigeon hole his guests, ever, if Trump had a chance for a genuine no agenda 3 hour interview he'd kill at it.

10
xkgb 10 points ago +11 / -1

Really? I don't know, I listened to his interview with Ye. Seemed he brought some baggage with him to that interview. He kept trying to get an Ye to atone for his transgressions.

10

5
Remove-All-Communist 5 points ago +5 / -0

Although I agree with you that most Leftists don't know the REAL DONALD TRUMP, I also don't think they would watch it anyway. DJT could do a video on the true meaning of life & how to make it in to heaven and the leftist would refuse to watch..."I'd rather go burn in hell than watch Drumpf."

2
lixa 2 points ago +2 / -0

Not everyone is the same. Some would tune in.

2
xkgb 2 points ago +2 / -0

Who listens to Lex Friedman? The hard-core leftists are in an echo chamber, doubtful they listen to him.

1
Klown_Schwab 1 point ago +1 / -0

Almost all leftists have no idea who Trump is

So what? I think their mind is already made up. How many leftists are actually going to listen to a 3 hour Trump interview with an open mind and change their opinion of him?

Hardly any, imo.

1
reychal 1 point ago +1 / -0

I agree, Lex would be a great interview for Trump.

15
CrossTheRubiconTrump 15 points ago +16 / -1

Trump not having a filter is what drew many of us to him in 2016. If anything he needs to stop listening to the advisors and just be himself.

4
MakeAmericaVapeAgain 4 points ago +4 / -0

exactly. i would love to listen to a brutally honest interview with Trump. one where he isn’t having to guard himself against bullshit attacks or campaign for himself. i don’t know if that would ever happen. but i would love to walk around in his mind, sit on his couch, eat a piece of cake, and give him a hug on the way out.

1
DonuteaterReturns 1 point ago +1 / -0

His announcement speech proved that.

6
Mathelm 6 points ago +6 / -0

The way I see it, It is only upside.
Trump does well in "nice" interviews, where he doesn't have to be as hostile.
There was one with a bunch of dude bros in the last year or so (I think it was an hour or 45 mins ish) that got their channel flagged.
It was a nice, regular "basic-bitch" interview; and the biggest problem Trump will have over the next 2+ years will be ... being humanized.
There's 90 million dumb mother fuckers out here that hate him on a human level, not a policy level; plus the benefit of "no primary" will be he'll have nothing but time to craft and press his message.

4
cciv 4 points ago +4 / -0

Everyone who is going to vote for Trump knows who he is. The others have only heard a distorted view of Trump via MSM and the DISC. This gives an opportunity to dispell the myths about him.

10
Forbidden_outcast 10 points ago +10 / -0

It’s in the long conversations like that that he’s not blustering and the normal talk comes out.

There are some people who can bring that talk out in him- and when that happens… it’s really pretty awesome.

But you never know which way it might go. If he senses any type of dishonesty or leading questions…. that’s when he does the whole public Trump thing.

(I have a family member exactly like him. Way up there. Has one persona in public, and a completely different one in private. It’s an “image” thing.)

Lex can suck a dick. I used to like him, but his pussy interview with the Pfizer faggot CEO showed him to be a shill.

16
Magafactured 16 points ago +16 / -0

Yeah, I agree – that and his Red Sea pedestrian scolding of Kanye.

It appears to me that as his popularity has increased, so has his belief in his own insightfulness. I will grant him that all those accolades might make anyone’s had swell a bit, so no hard feelings there.

Still, Lex can suck a dick in his MIB suit.

4
SorosHasBallsackEyes 4 points ago +4 / -0

I listened to one mea culpa which really wasn't a mea culpa. I'll have to look for some more apparently.

Even if he is sorry, is that because he was shown to be a shill, or because he understands that he was a bitch and basically bent over for an evil man?

1
cciv 1 point ago +1 / -0

The latter. Said he was too polite and didn't want to press more. Like he saw it as an opportunity to get more business leaders on his show and didn't want to crucify the first one he had.

12
Throwingway22 12 points ago +12 / -0

Look up the longer interview Trump did with Don Smith in 16, he's amazing in real conversations. When the host doesn't try to sandbag him with gotcha moments, real Trump shines. His attack mode would be hard to watch for 3 hours but Lex is such a wet blanket I don't think that'd be a risk.

4
Fidget 4 points ago +5 / -1

Oh he would be fed questions or topics, that’s for sure.

No, Trump is not on Twitter because he has a fiduciary duty to use Truth exclusively. He can’t even repost to another platform for 6 hours.

Edit with sauce:

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1849635/000119312522150801/d226205ds4.htm

2
PremAmerica 2 points ago +4 / -2

Right. That's why there is a business negotiation.

Trump knows that his reach on Twitter is far, far greater. And Elon knows that.

Elon knows that Trump on Twitter will draw tremendous traffic. And Trump knows that.

An additional 2- or 3-billion-dollar investment to acquire/merge Truth Social is very much in the cards.

Stay open minded.

1
Taco_of_Kiev 1 point ago +1 / -0

Except it doesn’t get significantly more reach on Twitter if you discount the bots. His engagement on Truth is at the point where it’s almost at the same level as twitter pre-ban.

We’ve known for years that Twitter’s MAU is drastic overstated and also known that (as operated) would never reach profitability.

I believe TMTG (of which Truth is just part 1) is going to be a behemoth by mid 2024 — and I have enough faith that I dumped almost $20k into betting on Trump premarket on day 1 — and I’ve doubled my money so far despite the weaponized SEC and financial fake news services and hedge funds.

0
PremAmerica 0 points ago +1 / -1

Your investment will pay off if Elon buys it. So, let's put that aside for now.

I don't think it is even close. There are 20,000 women on the PA Women for Trump group alone. All of them followed Trump on Twitter. Now barely 50 of them are on Truth Social. I am certain that this isn't an anomaly.

This is encouraging really. It shows you how much potential for growth there is, even if Truth Social stays independent. I am okay with that.

But Candidate Trump knows he needs to expand his reach. Two conflicting interests, really.

2
Taco_of_Kiev 2 points ago +2 / -0

Dude, my investment will pay off in any situation north of liquidation, and I’m only out ~$1.23/share in that event. I’ve only dipped under 160% return once, and have been hovering around 200-250% while we wait for merger.

I’m not even looking at the sell button until mid/late 2024 at the earliest and my price target is around 1,500%. If it’s still going strong 91 days before the election I’ll unload half, and buy back in depending on velocity and direction.

2
DonuteaterReturns 2 points ago +2 / -0

He needs Twitter, because everyone on Truth is already a Trump supporter.

1
Assassin47 1 point ago +1 / -0

Using Twitter only to promote Truth would be good for the company though.

You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention

1
LabTech 1 point ago +1 / -0

Having listened to "Art of the Deal" several times on audiobook, this strikes me as a move that Trump would absolutely be going for. He probably knows that TS will never be as popular as Twitter, unless Twitter were to completely go under, which probably isn't going to happen. Under those circumstances, merging his platform into Twitter's so that he can corner a portion of that platform, lower his overhead, and reduce his liability is something he's done time and time again.

I must politely disagree. Lex's show is better than what Rogan's got. Rogan is all over the map. He pretty much improvs his podcast. Lex prepares for the people he'll be speaking to. His show is highly focused. It's much more educational.

The whole conversation was interesting from start to finish. I don't think there's a better interviewer out there than Rogan.

Licks Friedman is a leftist twat. Claiming he would have a “ tough, raw” interview with GEOTUS is comical.. He is simply fantasizing about the opportunity to actually meet President Trump…and GEOTUS is too busy dealing with REAL WORLD ISSUES. FUCK OFF FRIEDMAN.

What is GEOTUS going to say that he hasn't already and that everyone doesn't already know? MAYBE we get to see him in deal making mode across the table from Fridman, but probably not.

We get back into office by getting honest elections. There is no promise, policy, or issue that is going to change anyones mind. Either we get an honest count, or not. Flattering some genZ kids by acknowledging their nerd king isn't going to change their votes.
