Well, putting Bob Iger back into the seat is like running back into your house when it has caught fire.......

He put them on the path to woke...

63
deadlyblackcentipede 63 points ago +85 / -22

You may be right. I don’t like Iger’s politics, but under him Disney went from a company that was just good at entertaining little kids, to the largest entertainment juggernaut in the world.

They acquired Lucasfilm, Marvel, Pixar and Fox.

Under him, the company’s market capitalization grew five fold.

Ever since Chapek took over, the company has gone from one blunder to the next.

I don’t know if their trend toward wokeness will end now, but at this point, any change is good.

144
thunderpussy 144 points ago +144 / -0

The wokeness trend began under Iger, so I don't look for it to change, but they probably will try to "tone it down", and hope you won't notice that they are still woke.

"Hello, I'm a woman and this is my WIFE." Meanwhile, no straight characters ever say shit to indicate their sexuality. Because bedroom fetishes aren't a personality.

6
liberty4alll 6 points ago +6 / -0

Lol. Was that an actual line in a movie?

11
NomadicKrow2 11 points ago +11 / -0

I'm playing through the Spiderman: Miles Morales game since it came on PC. There's a lesbian couple that helps run the homeless shelter. She's like "Hey, Miles. This is my girlfriend, Jennifer," or whatever the fuck her name was. "Girlfriend" isn't who she is, nor is it relevant information at all. I haven't seen any other characters whos sexuality is ambiguous come out and tell the character.

Side tidbit: I knew a guy who worked on the Spiderman game at Insomniac. They fired his ass because he started threatening to go on strike if they didn't start introducing a bunch of woke shit and make it prevalent in everything. He was like the lead environment designer or some shit, which means the entire Manhattan Island mapping was directed by him. You'll notice, if you play, his dumb ass left a few landmarks out that an actual New Yorker wouldn't have.

This doesn't mean Insomniac won't go fully woke at some point. But it's nice to know they fired his ass.

4
stupiditymeter 4 points ago +4 / -0

She was just making sure Sriggerman didn't try to tap that by claiming ownership on it first through stating she's her girlfriend Jennifer, and not just "tappable" Jennifer.

As long as that demon kennedy chick is still in charge of star wars then the woke is still there. The new andor series has potential but I can still see the woke influence.

7
hibernatus2 7 points ago +7 / -0

Yeah according to some leaks, she wants to kill Indiana Jones and replace him with a woman, see Doomcock on YouTube for more infos.

12
SteelBallRun1890 12 points ago +12 / -0

The craziest part is, Doomcock was right since the director lashed out on twitter even mentioning him by name lmaoo

Doomcock might get some bad leaks from time to time, but regarding Lucasfilm plots, he seems to be right on the money consistently. Remember he was one of the first to completely drop the last Star Wars plot a year well in advance. As well as the fact that Marvel was going for an all female Avengers a few years ago when it sounded ridiculous.

9
Captainzoomer 9 points ago +9 / -0

She-Hulk even had a villain roughly modeled after Doomcock. I watch him for my entertainment now instead of movies. Critical Drinker is good as well.

Out of all the shows they released, this one was by far the worst. Nothing happened that was relevant to the overall story whatsoever. They teased The Leader being the potential mastermind trying to steal her blood the whole time.... Only for it to be the fucking bro behind Doomcock.

Dogshit show written by a dumb fuck woke Chinabitch.

1
LowendLobster 1 point ago +1 / -0

all female Avengers

Ah, I immediately think back to that extremely cringe, on the nose, and unecessary "girl power" scene in Endgame where the whole female cast strikes an ensemble pose on screen.

1
Torinus 1 point ago +1 / -0

Unfortunately Andor is not watched by a lot of people and with our luck they might conclude the reason for that is because it is not woke enough.

1
SquiggyMcPepe 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's not being marketed like the other shows. I didn't even know it existed until last week and have been catching up via pirate sites.

1
Testamernt 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm finding Andor to be worth watching. Mandalorian wasn't that bad either. Everything else Star Wars related in the last decade has been straight trash though.

1
alcibiades_hammer 1 point ago +4 / -3

Currently watching Andor with the Mrs. It’s pretty good, but I think it’s trying to be more complicated than it needs to be. The Mon Mothma plot line seems completely pointless so far. I don’t see why it’s necessary to advancing the plot. I’m pretty sure the 11 episodes could have been covered in about 5 or 6 well done ones.

11
SquiggyMcPepe 11 points ago +13 / -2

Thats what I mean by the woke influence. They are wedging in the feminist girl power shit as filler probably to appease the writers and such. Thats the other trap disney is in. All the woke workers. Sadly they won't do like Elon and simply can them all and restart.

6
Click 6 points ago +7 / -1

Andor is boring and has 2-3 filler episodes for every decent episode that moves the plot and isn't a snoozefest. They're milking the series for as long as possible. It also has tons of "inclusive" characters and actors that I don't give a shit about and don't care if they die or get tortured. So many punchable faces in Andor.

1
Testamernt 1 point ago +1 / -0

Just wait till you see season 2. lol

1
alcibiades_hammer 1 point ago +1 / -0

You know, you’re not wrong!

2
Randall_Savage 2 points ago +3 / -1

Same issue I had with Kenobi. Like I saw where they were going and they coulda done it in a tight 3 episode arc over a thin series

1
alcibiades_hammer 1 point ago +1 / -0

Haven’t watched Kenobi. Probably not going to as it’s yet another Disney Bait-n-switch from what I’ve heard. More a Leia is a boss since childhood girl power show, than an insight into Kenobi, so yeah, less interested.

1
Randall_Savage 1 point ago +1 / -0

Just watch the final fight between Vader and Obi Wan and that is the show's high point. It has some decent segments like Kenobi throwing change in an old clone trooper's helmet as he's now a panhandling veteran. But overall it was padded out and pushed "THE MESSAGE." It did make Vader inhumanly evil and his entrance was baller.

1
KrinklePanda 1 point ago +1 / -0

Naw, they portray Leia as a bitch who grew up a spoiled cxnt with a soft male father figure until Kenobi comes along and stops her from being a shitbag. The series is actually a profound statement on how important father figures are. Bail is too soft, the queen is unimportant, and it's the strong male lead that balances her toxic feminity. Also remeber Leia is a force user canonically before Disney, and unconsciously tapped into those powers when dealing with people. So the series makes sense, she is just a more c×nty cxnt than when Han met her and screwed the crazy out of her.

1
Testamernt 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't know what you're talking about when you say the Mon Mothma plot line is completely pointless. The show is telling the story that led up to the events in Rebel One. At the very least it should show us how she found herself standing in front of a bunch of pilots explaining how they were going to blow up the Death Star.

1
alcibiades_hammer 1 point ago +1 / -0

Oh I completely agree with that, so far all I’ve seen on that story line is a fractured possibly arranged marriage, concern about being exposed for funding rebel activity, and concern about her daughter. Those are all reasonable themes to explore, I just haven’t seen how those threads tie in yet. I really like the political intrigue her story line is showing (like with the banker guy trying to arrange a marriage between his son and mothma’s daughter) but it feels like a completely separate story so far to me. I can see that Luthien is a big part in each story, and he’s become the most compelling character so far. I was expecting to understand Cassian better, but so far he’s a fairly static character (there was signs that he’s different after the prison break, but there isn’t much time left in the season to demonstrate it 🤷🏼‍♂️)

Tommy Kirk, one of Disney's child stars, (Absentminded Professor was one.), was fired by Walt Disney for his "relationship" with a 15 year old boy, in 1963. This is the IMDB version.

There was also the rumor that he was caught giving a stage hand a BJ, on set. I suspect the second version to be more accurate than the first. Fags trend toward a lack of self control.

1
Recyclops 1 point ago +1 / -0

Victor Salva wrote and directed the movie "Powder" for Disney in 1995. When news of his past came out, Iger claimed he didn't know.

In 1988, Salva was convicted of sexual misconduct with one of Clownhouse's underage stars who was 12 years old at the time and videotaping one of the encounters. Commercial videotapes and magazines containing child pornography were also found in his home. Salva pleaded guilty to lewd and lascivious conduct, oral sex with a person under 14, and procuring a child for pornography. He was sentenced to three years in state prison, of which he served 15 months. He completed his parole in 1992.

Stormeyworld13 5 points ago +5 / -0

Maybe there was a lot of them but you didn't see the homosexual agenda all over the Disney theme parks. It wasn't in their movies or products. Those homosexuals stayed in the closet. They weren't displaying their sexuality out in the open. I don't recall going to Disneyland or watching a Disney film and seeing the homosexual agenda being pushed on you.

4

I worked for Disney in 2015 building the Shanghai pirates ride… fucking faggots everywhere. It was obnoxious how much they whined.

2
War_Hamster 2 points ago +2 / -0

Obviously, it's worse now. But it was already starting back then.

There was a ton of controversy over Eisner being CEO, and it was one of the biggest Yahoo Finance message board battles for several years. This was one of the conversations that led to online censorship.

We keep looking to corporations to distribute the "stuff" that we want.

Whether it is furniture, pillows, media, tools, food, and so on.

This is a great opportunity for patriots for small businesses that do the same.

I'd be thrilled to buy my pillows from Lindell, or my furniture from someone else, and give my child traditional movies, songs and such to watch and listen to.

Lindell said he would start an Amazon competitor.

I think he really should follow through on it.

A site like Etsy, but focused on traditional values.

America was built on individuals, farmers, tradesmen, craftsmen, small workshops. Corporations, governments, and so on couldn't touch this.

Maybe it's time to push towards a return to those things again?

It will be a little bit uncomfortable at first, but as Mike Lindell proved, once the money starts coming, these can all be solid businesses.

6
disgruntled_patriot 6 points ago +6 / -0

Pretty hard to find the capital to start a business when you're living under a corporate run socialist govt where the oligarchs really don't like the very idea of competition.

For fuck sakes, most people can't even afford a fucking car anymore.

3
remembercovfefe 3 points ago +3 / -0

The assault on small business has been relentless. It was most blatant during covid with the "lockdowns and essential services" and the dumbfucks ate it all up. With that, excessive regulation, and inflation, the opportunities that made many these families so wealthy are gone. They have the tools to crush you whenever they want.

3
disgruntled_patriot 3 points ago +3 / -0

Honestly, that's not what disgusts me the most.

What disgusts me is how easily businesses capitulated.

I have never seen a people work so hard to fuck themselves over. This country really is run by scared, meek little dipshits. Top to bottom.

There are streaming services for more traditional. Daily Wire started one. My church (don’t think it’s officially connected) has another we recommend. And recently I’ve heard about another “Great American Family”. You just have to actively look for them, they’re not in any way mainstream.

2

HiddenDekuScrub 18 points ago +18 / -0

The good years after Eisner were mainly due to John Lasseter being on the board. He was personally managing nearly all animated content and fired wokies before many knew what woke was. They scalped him during the MeToo movement, which never seemed organic. He now works for Skydance. (That is, the studio that made the Top Gun sequel.) His newer movie, Luck, can be found on Apple TV+, as can "Blush", a chibi-short that will probably make you cry....

I will say that the newer stuff needs some refining but is still good.

Disney's target market absolutely did ditch children to follow childless millennials.

It's like they realized millennials would never grow up and instead of appealing to young children every generation as the company was founded on they just stuck with the millennials into adulthood.

Most of Disney's crap is targeted at millennials these days. Stuur Wurz and the Marvel schlock are obviously geared towards an older audience and account for the company's largest investment.

You don't see Disney putting out many movies geared towards young kids like they used to. It's all space wizards and super heroes.

15
fredinno 15 points ago +15 / -0

Iger put Disney on the path to where it is today, Chapek just got the ticking time bomb.

The thing is that (other than the woke crap), Iger turned out to be everything Eisner feared about him. He didn't care about creativity or innovativeness and relied primarily on acquisitions and marketing to make Disney bigger instead of creating new and interesting products.

13
LadyOfLorien 13 points ago +14 / -1

3
FinishTheBorderWall 3 points ago +3 / -0

Iger stepped down right before the scamdemic. The timing was too good. He wanted a fall guy to blame for when the lockdowns and wokeness would inevitably lead to major losses.

11
RyanUpCreek 11 points ago +11 / -0

Even normies are starting to see the fire raging so what these CEOS do is hand it off to someone the people(normies) will see as change for the better then they get comfortable and turn on their Disney only to wonder if the same guy is still in charge. It is only satan buying more time

Indeed. Damage control to placate the unsuspecting.....

3

The current CEO has only been in charge for 11 months, and they're getting rid of him and putting Bob Iger back. It's not like this was the CEO that made Disney woke for the past decade.

11 months isn't even long enough to make a difference. The reason Disney is going broke is that all of their films this year have been dogshit garbage. Those films were in development long before Iger left.

Literally nothing will change. This is just a sign that Disney is scrambling internally.

69
NewUser101 69 points ago +69 / -0

Bingo. Boycott all of their shit, it's working.

11
BloodElfSupporter 11 points ago +11 / -0

It is sad because before I moved to the east coast I went on a Disney trip with my sister in Cali (back in 2017) and I had so much fun. We were two grown ass adults singing the tunes from our childhood, watched parades, shows and so many things I was too busy to notice when I was a kid. I honestly had such a fond memory. So it really pains me to say I’ll never be visiting Disney again as long as they’re woke, even though I really had a good time with my sis there.

21
Corse46 21 points ago +21 / -0

11 months did actually make a difference. I actually used to go to Disney every year, and I couldn't believe the things they were doing with the parks over the last year. It was like they were intentionally trying to commit suicide. They kept repeatedly raising prices and fees, but removing perks and experiences at the same time. It would be like Mercedes raising the price on their cars $10k but going back to manual brakes and steering with roll up windows.

10
deleted 10 points ago +10 / -0
4
DeepStateParasite 4 points ago +4 / -0

The way Europe is going, they'll be raising prices while moving to coal-fired engines.

2
Cyer6 2 points ago +2 / -0

Heard that they jacked up park prices and also something about their fast pass system was costing more but gave you less. My extended family went to DW early this year but I opted out. Couldn't do it and they understood. I hate the company and at the time they were still enforcing face muzzles along with the airlines. I told them if I go, I'll end up in jail for losing my shit at some point. I don't think I'll ever leave Texas again but that's OK, I've seen the world, I'm good.

0
Ralphusthegreatus 0 points ago +1 / -1

You have to realize that whatever happened in those 11 months that there is a planning stage that can be years in the making.

12
ArbysBeefandCheddar 12 points ago +12 / -0

He's been there since March 2020 so a bit longer than 11 months. I feel like Iger was always going to make a return as he was one of many CEOs that magically hung it up right before the lockdowns and the dude has political ambitions.

1
Digitalalchemyst 1 point ago +1 / -0

zz556 10 points ago +10 / -0

All these woke movies were greenlighted under Iger's watch. They have wokanda, which will break even. Their next sure flops like Strange World, where the teen lead protagonists are all about having butt sex each other. Then in the summer it's the Black Little Mermaid. Then you have the Mexican Snow White after that.

The problem is Wokanda may make a small profit, but these half a billion dollar films if you count production and marketing. They need to bring in hundreds of millions of dollars profit, each one. And they're flat out losing money on their films(Lightyear). Even if they make a small profit that's an opportunity cost. Also remember Disney is in huge debt for all their acquisitions like Fox studios.

Iger is the one who made 20 crappy live actions films based on classic cartoons. Thus wrecking the original IP too. Sure it worked at first, but lot of people seem to be sick of them.

2
FlyCatcher94 2 points ago +2 / -0

As crappy as they are. They do refresh the characters legally. Completely locking down a bunch of Grimm fairytales from other creators.

6
needorganization 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yep.

My guess, they'll go back to putting nasty crap hidden in movies again or do some "oh, that's not really gay folk" scenes in movies again for a while to appease their evil gods and hope for profits to come back.

I still know way too many people who still would pay these fools. Where do people even find the time to watch the crap they come up with anyway.

The previous CEO, Bob Iger, is the one responsible for Disney going woke.

If he is back - and that is looking likely - expect the woke to get even woker.

In fact, when Chapek was brought in as CEO, many said his hands were tied and Iger would likely make a comeback very soon.

11 months later is not even a full year as Disney CEO.

Seems like Chapek was the pansy here.

What they should do is get rid of KK, put the franchise on hiatus for 5 years, hire George Lucas as the head of the Star Wars universe or promote john favreau, then relaunch with a retcon universe that picks up during the Legacy EU.

It sucks that they missed the window with Luke, Leia, and Han. If they would have made a quality sequel trilogy, the brand would have kept printing them billions.

4

Lucasfilm is woke. Pixar is woke. Marvel is woke. Disney Studios is woke. None of them have any notion of creativity. They just pick off the works of great creative dead people like vultures. Bob Iger is the faggot that made that happen. All he did was run up the company debt by acquiring franchises that he could then run into the ground. So things will likely get worse now.

Both Iger and Musk quit President Trump's business advisory panel on the same day over Trump leaving the Paris Accords in 2017.

And then there was the incident of Trump calling out Iger on twitter.

President Trump again called on Bob Iger to apologize for its coverage of him, saying that he and ABC had "offended millions of people."

"Iger, where is my call of apology?" Trump tweeted Thursday morning. "You and ABC have offended millions of people, and they demand a response. How is Brian Ross doing? He tanked the market with an ABC lie, yet no apology. Double Standard!"

The president was referring to ABC News reporter Brian Ross, who erroneously reported late last year that Trump had asked Michael Flynn to make contact with the Russians during the 2016 presidential campaign.

"Disney’s stock is down more than 40% year to date and it slid to a multiyear low when it reported earnings weeks ago when it missed on Wall Street expectations for both revenue and earnings per share."

THIS WAS ALL PLANNED. Bob Iger wanted/wants to run for President of US. he stepped back not down as CEO, Bob Iger never left Disney. If you followed the goings ons of Disney than you would know The Bobs ran it together and Iger still not being CEO was calling the shots. Chapek was just a front man with Iger in the real drivers seat. Its all about optics during Covid making Iger look bad. Iger didn't want the loss of Disney jobs, stock, earnings, and Company policies to be a stain on him. Look he is coming back now as the Parks are making more money now. This was all planned.

Loosing the self governance and tax free status of Disney world property in Florida was an epic disaster long term for Disney. Heads will roll and roll over this.

Disney totally screwed itself. Before it used to sell above average, and high quality goods that families could buy without having to think much. Now it's like, "What the hell is this?" and "Eh, I don't know if this will be good, or in line with my values."

So, right now, the Disney stamp is almost worthless.

No one who is a patriot, or has a soul, or cares about children, or the future - should be supporting ANY Disney products at this point. Whatever people used to think about entertainment, they, and the rest of Hollywood, have made their intentions clear they want to destroy everything western, male, Christian, capitalist etc - they hate all positive values.

Anyone who is still hoping to see 'good entertainment' has missed out on the last 6 years of the culture war - and Disney is a key player in the war.

Boycott it all

Whenever Kathleen Kennedy leaves you're gonna see celebrations like the end of Return of the Jedi happen all over the internet.

Florida doesn't need these faggots, they're 30-40 year olds acting like children.

tonysoprano 7 points ago +7 / -0

OMG, that would be a monumental tide shift. Movies and media that reinforced the nuclear family and traditional values, using the Disney portfolio of characters? It would be like the Twitter acquisition on steroids.

People here love to say get woke go broke, but the fact is Disney is still the largest media conglomerate in the world and own basically everything. They aren't going anywhere

4
Greeny 4 points ago +4 / -0

Iger is the one who brought woke to Disney.

4
barwhack 4 points ago +4 / -0

Disney cannot be recovered. Pedophilia as a corporate policy, is unforgivable. Die, Mickey.

xanax123 4 points ago +4 / -0

Before anyone celebrates, remember that Bob Iger is the one who initiated all the woke bullshit…

It won’t be, but this should be seen as Iger’s failure also. In fact, it’s mostly his failure. Chapek was never going to work.

The Walt Disney Company always operates much better with co-chief executives: a head creative executive, and a head operations executive. (Walt & Roy, Eisner & Wells)

They had an awesome creative executive prospect in John Lasseter, but they #metoo-ed the shit out of him. There still hasn’t been an awesome Disney operations executive since the death of Frank Wells.

Instead of restoring Disney’s corporate structure to a model that clearly worked, Iger embraced the woke and even hinted at running for President on the Democratic ticket. Iger seems to have fallen victim to the same fate of all Disney CEOs that have been around too long. They start to think they’re Walt Disney. And Walt would be ashamed of them.

Iger will at least initially be better than Chapek, but until they restore their old co-executive model and at least reject outwardly woke bullshit, Disney will never be what it once was.

Good riddance

NeoDragoon 4 points ago +4 / -0

Chapek was actually attempting to gut the woke out of the company, now they put the schmuck who entrenched them back in charge...

Right_of_Sinner 3 points ago +3 / -0

So I guess Bob Iger isn’t going for political office.

Good. Let him go down with the ship
