This is news to me, far as I've read in the literature they initially use a knife to do the initial horizontal cut amputating the distal prepuce beyond the glans (ridged gland of akroposthion) which is initially where it ended.
The added steps first written in the Gemara around 300 AD were done via sharpened fingernails when doing the "priya" (uncovering) to separate extra prepuce from the glans.

Nothing about teeth that I can see. I'm not ruling it out but would be interested in reading documents which attest to that idea.
