House GOP leadership rejects 6 of 8 rules changes sought by conservatives, with more pending
The proposed amendments still pending include the reimplementation of the Holman Rule, which would permit the targeted slashing of specific federal programs or individual federal employee salaries.
Im not sure having two enemy countries, divided by the Mason-Dixon Line, would have been beneficial to the future of either of them. I can’t think of a single time in history where a country was divided and then got stronger. It’s always been the opposite.
Some people seem to have a romanticized version of what history would have been like if certain things had changed, but don’t recognize the significant problems that would have come along with those changes.
That’s why all you can really do with history is learn from it, and hope that the next time we make the right decision.
