The problem with this is that they advocate for as much power to be stripped from the individual as possible and given to the state. They don't care because it's the intent, because they don't actually lose money, YOU lose money, because YOU'RE paying for it without even realizing it, because they've baked it all into the cost of every product sold in America, one way or another.
It's a big complex tangled mess, but it's also very simple. We are paying more for products in America, to prop up these companies. No different than sending money to Ukraine. And a lot of these companies have political agenda's, or act as political money laundering and propaganda operations, unknowingly funded by Americans right at the til. Sorta, yeah. I mean obviously ads will work somewhere, but probably not even a fraction of 1% actually sell anything. But they've built it into our system as corporate communism.
I mean look at Twitter. They created a bunch of bots and fake views to get advertisers to spend money. How much stuff did those ads actually sell? Probably not even a fraction of what the advertising itself cost. What did they do with that money? Ran a company that was basically an adult daycare, designed to shutdown free speech and spread propaganda. Now where does all the money come from? Every day products we buy, not that we were advertised to want to buy, but that we just buy normally. Baked right into the sale cost.
Even if they're not paying to advertise a loaf of bread, some bigger company that owns the company that makes that bread, is putting it into the cost of everything they sell. So even the basic mundane essentials that you might not see advertised, are essentially still charging you that adverting cost for whatever else they sell and advertise, built into the price.
Which means you can't even buy a loaf of bread in America without supporting some woke company at some point down the chain, that produces nothing and only serves to siphon money from the economy.
And as we saw with Twitter bots, they were effectively faking views in order to get that advertising money. You'd think that ad companies would be suing left and right, because those bots mean they paid millions and billions of dollars more for advertising than it was actually worth, essentially defrauded for billions of dollars. But it's all hush hush because that's how the system is designed to work. They don't care because it's the intent, because they don't actually lose money, YOU lose money, because YOU'RE paying for it without even realizing it, because they've baked it all into the cost of every product sold in America, one way or another.
It's a big complex tangled mess, but it's also very simple. We are paying more for products in America, to prop up these companies. No different than sending money to Ukraine. And a lot of these companies have political agenda's, or act as political money laundering and propaganda operations, unknowingly funded by Americans right at the til. This has been one of the biggest sources of Democrat corruption and power in America, right under our noses. It's like if every time you bought something at the store and they asked you if you wanted to donate a dollar to this or that, but instead of asking, they just straight up took it without asking, because it's built into the cost.
You're not just paying for the production cost + profit + taxes on things you buy anymore. You're also paying for a dozen other woke agenda funds, again, sneakily baked right into the cost.
Yeah I've wondered a few times why companies are stupid enough to pay for ads that mostly have engagement from bots. I guess the answer is, they're not stupid. Or not in that way.
They already have us funding their agenda at gunpoint via our tax dollars. I shouldn't be surprised that they're fleecing us in other unavoidable ways too. Corruption and money laundering is everywhere. Just a giant fake economy designed to keep them in power.

The 2nd time I heard the suggestion, I said to him similar to what you stated and his NPC brain snapped. To him (and so many others) the government is an omnipotent deity and my view is heresy.

Why is Twitter considered so powerful… if the government wants a nationalized social media site, they can start their own. The just know that nobody will use it if it’s not done in secret.
It is only powerful because they do not control it and what get posted on it, and lots of people still view what gets posted there (for now). If they cannot force Musk to moderate to their liking via threats of app store suspensions, and you bet your ass they have teams of lawyers looking over the consequences of that one, they they will find another way. The withholding ad buys is another means of pressuring him to cave to their demands, by denying twitter the regular revenue stream. That sword cuts both ways of course.
I read somewhere that the true value that Musk gets from Twitter is the data and insight that he can put towards his other companies like Neuralink with its AI and lots of other stuff. Even if he completely crashes Twitter as a platform, the amount of data he has is worth the price.
I'm sure there's lots of side value, but I can't believe he's willing to crater a 44ish billion dollar purchase.
I agree, not completely, but I think he's willing to go pretty far for his end goal. When you think about it, he's just collected communications from most of the high profile people in the world. That's invaluable.
