China has a "housing crisis" that is supposedly so bad that hundreds of folks have to rent bunkbed housing no larger than 15 square feet and share amenities. Yet, somehow, they have the ability to create and maintain these quarantine camps to house thousands of people in slightly better conditions.
Why doesn't China use their "Ghost cities"?
Because they're not anywhere convenient.
Because they've never been finished. They were never livable.
Because they've been allowed to fall into disrepair.
Because they've built like shit.
That's with reasons but I'm sure there's more.
By intentionally keeping supply low, it feeds into their
religion propaganda that real estate will always go up.
Blue Cities started adopting that mentality about 7 years ago after Xi visited the US.
I've always treated real estate like the stock market, which can go up or down, just like 2008 and 2022.
