I think its more the fact that politics have gotten so divisive that people latch onto the exact opposite idea of their political opposition. Both sides are gobbling up Slavic cum lol because Ukrainians are slav too.

There's a lot of propaganda coming out of both sides, and people just latch onto a perceived truth or a lie. It's impossible to know what is actually going on. The objective reality is this: no one will know much of anything until the dust settles and the conflict is actually over.
