I am more interested in why that kind of equipment would be that close to a volcano... I might be dumb but if the volcano was close enough and down hill and at least mildly active it would produce higher than average CO2 levels and that CO2 would travel down hill....
I was watching some volcano documentary the other day. They were talking about this active volcano in Ecuador or somewhere like that. Said the volcano puts out more CO2 per week than every vehicle in the USA does per year. Literally if all of our vehicles were removed it wouldn't even make a dent in CO2 emissions.
True, all the cement in the runways raises the average temperature since it absorbs the heat. They have know this for years. A buddy of mine worked for an Insurance company and when I moved to Texas back in the 80's he sent me a "Funnel Cloud" map of Texas that showed the risk of tornados hitting specific parts of the state. They used this to determine risks and insurance rates. I noticed the low risk areas were where large cities were. I asked him about it and he said the cities were 2 to 3 degrees higher in temperature than the neighboring areas because of all the cement in these cities absorbing the heat. He also said areas near the cities are at higher risk, because the tornadoes "go around" the cities, but hit the suburbs.
Mauna Loa is used for all sorts of weather research. It has unique characteristics that provide a very accurate environment isolated from data noise. Well, until now.
Pele is the Hawaiian volcano deity, an elemental force, and the creator of these volcanic landscapes. According to tradition, she is embodied by the lava and natural forces associated with volcanic eruptions.
Pelé was admitted into a hospital earlier this week, as he has been in a fight with colon cancer. He had the tumor removed in September 2021, and has been undergoing chemotherapy since.
That's fuggin funny. And now they are gonna claim a huge increase in CO2 lemme guess? Totally unironically?

You know why.... same reason they put their thermometers at airports
That I do not know why...
I know why they only play CNN.
They put their thermometers near airports to skew average temperatures higher; they monitor CO2 near volcanoes for a similar reason

Also a good point. Muh climate crisis.
Exactly, that is the whole idea, want numbers that validate your climate story, put the measurement equipment next to a volcano. Problem, solution.
I bet they have this same equipment next to every volcano on earth.

volcanos should be banned
Greta will be giving these volcanos a stern talkin to….
The cameras are off. Time to count the extra climate ballots
"Disrupts" or "accurately reads"?
Volcanos produce how many years of CO2 in ONE DAY ?
So they were measuring carbon emissions next to a long simmering volcano???? How valid could those measurements have been???
BTW, the temperature measurements they do in the UK include one batch on a black tarmac in direct sun right next to a runway.
Same difference.
Pele's Pissed.
He's in hospital last I heard

This reads like someone found out how much CO2 a single volcano produces in a day and decided this information should be silenced.

This is nuts!
MAGMA SOUNDS LIKE MAGA!!!! REEEEEEEEE
The massive burp of CO2, so2 and CO blew out the sensors. Broke the machines.
Probably equivalent to a G7 nations yearly outputs. Lol
