Here’s what 80% of people on the right don’t understand about the left: their only operating principle is “what gives me power is good”. People on the right love to point out areas where the left is hypocritical, because it would bother them if they discovered that they had been hypocrites. The left couldn’t give less of a shit whether they hold consistent views. If banning travel from China happened under Trump it was bad, and if it happened under Biden it was good.
People claiming to be for liberty, for limited government, on the right, who vote for things like this Omnibus spending are lying about being for limited government. They're leftists.
All the definitions like Communism, Fascism, Nazi, Socialism are brands of leftism. All the "both sides are the same" blather is a smoke screen. No matter what they call themselves or they're called, people not for liberty are leftists. People who want government in control of people's lives = leftists. If government is the first solution or any solution to anything - left.
Right = rights come from God. Individuals have liberty.
Left = anti God. Some central authority is in control - the state, the Church, the corporation, the something.

“Rulers” sounds too positive and not quite right. The average individual is powerless in a democracy though the system is hyped up to suggest otherwise and I fear ruler might play into that mindset.
It doesn't really matter. This is a meaningless gesture to make it look like Biden is doing something. Let's say the PCR tests are 100% accurate, for the sake of argument. They're not, but we'll ignore that. Testing people from China as they get off the plane would get some of the people with COVID, but the PCR tests don't do a positive until the person starts showing symptoms. And that's IF the tests actually worked, which they don't.
Basically, this is an "I'm doing something" move without doing something using tax dollars to buy and use test kits, kicking money back to the crony owned test making companies.

Not my opinion, but on a recent podcast, one of my co-hosts explained it similarly.
He says far right is anarchy. Far left is total government (tyranny).
The Constitution is as close to far right as it can be and still maintain an orderly society.

I’ve been trying to put together a 2 dimensional grid for forms of government but always keep coming back to Liberty v Tyranny.

Statist is a pretty neutral term despite it often being used pejoratively. It simply means one who believes in the legitimacy of the state.
Eric July has used “statheist” as a song title and term to highlight the religious like nature of the belief.
Tyrants fits if you believe government wouldn’t be so bad if it had no rights that individuals do not, but no existing government matches this.
But yeah I agree seems like there could be a better term yet to be conceived.
